early history :

the only child born to isla and malcolm bones, susan was named for her aunt amelia's middle name. a rather powerful and respected family in the wizarding community, it's no shock that they were sought after by death eaters during the first wizarding world war. most of the family wouldn't survive.

first year :

susan bones started her education at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry the same year as the famous harry potter. she shared a boat with seamus finnigan and hermione granger, and was the third student to be called upon by minerva mcgonagall for the sorting ceremony. there was an indescribable joy at being sorted into hufflepuff, the very house that her parents had shared before falling in love. the house that most of her family had called home while at hogwarts. during her first year, susan would learn all about the basics of magic and spell performance, like her other classmates. she was also present at the end-of-term feast during which gryffindor won the house cup breaking slytherin's seven year winning streak.

second year :

during her second year, susan seemed to develop a crush on the then defence against the dark arts professor, gilderoy lockhart, which caused her to be off-task daydreaming during his lessons. she participated in the duelling club, as a precaution due to the attacks that occurred after the chamber of secrets had been opened. the fact that lockhart oversaw this club was merely an added benefit, as was the discovery of a talent for duelling magic. if only she’d known how much that skill would come in handy in later years.

year two wasn’t all clubs and cute professors. when her friends were all petrified by the unknown creature (now known to be a basilisk) roaming the school, fear seemed hard to shake. for someone who had already faced so much loss, the thought that her friends’ lives were in peril was a hard one to shake. to say that she was filled with a sense of relief when professor sprout and madam pomfrey were able to cure the petrified students would be an understatement.

third year :

idk she was scared of sirius black like everyone else that year. i'll flesh this year out later maybe. maybe not. we'll see.

fourth year :

during susan's fourth year hogwarts held the triwizard tournament and hufflepuff's cedric diggory was one of the triwizard champions. she supported cedric in favor of harry, as he was in her house and her best friends were also strong supporters of him.

harry's death at the end of the triwizard tournament left susan with a lot of questions, though of one thing she was certain. barty crouch jr didn't kill her classmate. no, voldemort was back, and it was only a matter of time before the rest of the wizarding world began to suspect the same.

summer before fifth year :

it was in late june that the death eaters who murdered susan’s uncle edgar and his family escaped from azkaban. news that immediately set the bones family on high alert, and for good reason. mid july saw an attack on the bones household, with susan left the only survivor. she’d credit it to pure luck and her mother’s forethought, if you could even get her to speak on the incident. 

her father’s shout from the kitchen had given enough warning for susan to barricade herself into her bedroom. unfortunately there was already a death eater waiting for the girl. fortunately he hadn’t been expecting her to throw a punch instead of a hex. it was only that split second of shock that allowed her to grab for the portkey her mother had placed on her nightstand only a few weeks earlier. an emergency escape hatch of sorts. and it worked. susan successfully escaped to an alley behind the leaky cauldron. she entered and gave a fake name to tom, the pub’s owner, and asked him to send for amelia bones. it was only when her aunt arrived, having recognized the fake name as a previously agreed upon safety code for her niece, that susan learned that neither of her parents had been so lucky as she’d been. 

the following days saw her settling into a spare bedroom at her aunt’s home, her new home, and struggling to accept her new reality. still weeks later, the grief at her parents’ death feels as fresh as it was standing in the leaky cauldron. she only hopes this school year proves to be the distraction she so desperately craves.

the physical resemblance between billy and robin is too strong to be ignored so au where neil keeps sneaking out at odd hours and max comes to billy like “i think your dad is cheating on my mom” and billys like “eh i dont know...” and makes lays out all the ‘evidence’ she has which is really nothing, and billys trying to convince her that neil leaving susan would be a good thing, for susan and maxs sake, but max still wont let it go, so it ends up with max dragging billy on stakeouts with her. following neil around, which is dangerous as shit but max is a dog with a bone and wont let it go, so billy figures she’d be doing this anyway and its better to have him around in case neil catches her, so.

eventually they end up outside a house, which max recognizes at robins, and shes like “neils having an affair with robins mom?!” and billy... he’s familiar with adults having The Audacity™ but even he has to admit mrs buckley having an affair in her own house is... a lot. bold, to say the least.

max wants to go confront him right then and there and billys like no thats stupid we’ll figure something else out.

his version of figuring things out is running to robin the next time he sees her to be like ‘yo your moms fucking my dad just thought you should know” and robins like “what the goddamn hell are you talking about ???”

billy explains what he and max saw and robins like “wait neils your dad?!”

so basically neil and robins mom hooked up years ago while neil was in hawkins visiting family or on a business trip, whatever. didnt know he knocked her up. robins mom ending up meeting mr buckley after robin was born but still too young to really know better so robin just took his last name and he was always dad. but with neil living in town now robins mom decided to reach out and have them meet because its a small town, their paths were bound to cross, and robin deserves to know who her bio dad is. and neil never offered up his last name because he knew it would get back to billy and hes trying to avoid a whole scandal. the buckleys dont know what a menace neil is. robin knows billys dad is an ass...but again, she doesnt know neil and billys dad are one in the same.

cue robin saying how nice neil has been to her and billy having a whole crisis because why doesnt he get that version of neil? but he knows why... he doesnt want to burst robins bubble but the whole nice guy act is just a show and if robin sticks around long enough she’ll see his true colors.

AND on top of all this billy and robin have to confront being siblings and dropping this bomb on poor steve lmao whos honestly ecstatic. his boyfriend and his bestie are siblings? feels very convenient for him. until they start pulling the “dont fuck with my brother/sister!” card on him ... and then steves having less fun. max is excited to have robin as a sister now, though. because theyve decided even if theyre not blood related its close enough and no, billy, they dont care what you have to say about it.

I love that this is a mix of new fic and ancient fic, though I admittedly am a small fandom writer who does not do the kind of numbers that folks in the big playgrounds do. But that's okay, every kudos is a gift.

5. do you respond to comments? Every single one, forever and always.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I don't write a lot of true angst. The fic I just published, the wheel of the headlong year (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) has a complicated ending, because it had to. Is it angsty? Only one person so far has told me they cried through it, so you must decide for yourself.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All the Means to Make Us One (The Doctor Blake Mysteries). It's wedding night fic. Lots of happiness. Plus it's really hot.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Except for the time I sort of started a flame war? Nah. I don't play in big enough sandboxes for that.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do! I write the character driven this-is-part-of-the-character-and-story-arc kind of smut.

Although she has no pressure put on her directly by her family she feels quite a huge weight on her shoulders. Named after Madam Amelia Bones, arguably the greatest sorcerer of the age, as a weight in it’s self. Born 20 years almost to the day of her death. Throw around the words Bones heir and  the legacy the family name holds within the Ministry and you’ve got yourself a enough pressure to explode.

She is furiously loyal to those she cares for and is definitely a mama bear (though she won’t admit it) She’ll give anyone a chance but she won’t do it twice. 

Lia had known Sara in school, Lia was in the year above her but being in the same house meant they crossed paths often. 

She doesn’t quite remember how their affair started. Lia had been in a relationship for a few months by this point (Wanted Connection) and should have known better than to tangle herself in the web that was Sara Greengrass but she couldn’t resist.  It was exciting, the lack of pressure to be miss perfect when they were sneaking around. There are only two female skeletons left at the moment*: Susan Bones and Bellatrix Lestrange. I know a lot of people want Bellatrix to be around! As for non-skelebio characters (because we do accept those), I’ll leave it to members to suggest who they want to see.

On other skeleton bios, there are plans to do so sometime in the future when I have time to work on them. However, don’t let that hold you back from applying for anyone now!

* By female skeletons, I mean the characters that are canonically ‘female’ coded in the books by the author. We are open, accepting, and welcoming of all gender identities and stages of recognition of self-identity. That non-binary and trans identities are recognized in the Wixen world without our real, Muggle world prejudices attached to them is established in our game lore. -- BIOGRAPHY --

Simon was maybe like, 65% sure they were an accident, childbirth-wise. Not that it mattered a terrible amount, but it would’ve been a bit nice to have someone to really go through life with, the way that Amelia and Edgar had each other. They loved their older siblings and they loved their parents, but would a fourth child really have upset things all that much? Maybe then they’d stop feeling like in-between kid: not the smart, judicious Amelia, not the care-free brilliant Edgar. Just Simon. Baby of the family but in the middle of things anyhow, floating between their two siblings like a kite on a string.

Determined to make their own way of things, when Amelia and Edgar zigged, Simon zagged. So the family ended up with two successful career kids, and a shop worker. Really it was one of the few professions Si could think of where it didn’t matter if they messed anything up because for once their mistakes would be entirely their own. No one could compare them to their siblings because neither of them had ever had to fill a bag of chocolates or work a holiday rush.

There were only two things in the world that Simon knew they’d done completely and utterly right: falling in love with Miraphora, and having Susan. Nothing could touch the joy they both brought to Simon’s life, the sense of purpose and belonging that always came in their presence. Simon treasured them with every fiber of their being. Whatever they had to do to keep Mira and Su safe, well, it would be worth it, wouldn’t it? Simon thought so.

So I haven’t thought as much about Lily’s kids, but here we go:

Michael Harry Thomas:

Born October 15, 2028

Lily was really nervous while pregnant with him, but he was a really easy pregnancy and a very sweet baby

Named after Ryan’s bio dad and Harry (obviously)

He goes by Michael, so he isn’t confused with his cousin Mike Anthony (James stepson)

He takes a lot after Ryan, he’s very smart and likes to be in the background and loves music!

He followed after Lily everywhere she went when he was little and would sit in the back of her dance classes

No one is surprised when he’s sorted into Ravenclaw

He gets very close to Al and Maggie while at Hogwarts

He also gets interested in the healing properties of music

When he graduates from Hogwarts, he decides to go to Muggle University to study psychology and music

He brings his findings back to the Wizarding world and he applies his practices to his patients

It helps open up new therapies used for mental illnesses

Stephan Arthur Thomas:

Born May 21, 2030

His pregnancy was a bit more challenging, but lily was less nervous about giving birth

Michael was very excited to be an older brother!

Stephan takes more after Lily, stubborn, expressive, and loud when needed

He’s close to Apollo and Artemis (Rose and Scorpius’ twins) and he gets a huge crush on Amy (Becca and Lysander’s daughter) when their pretty young

He’s sorted into Gryffindor along with Amy and it just pushes them closer

They start dating when their sixteen and the whole family raises an eyebrow, they just never expected it to actually happen

Stephan works a lot of odd jobs before becoming a manager at the Dragon’s Egg Inn, the Inn that Amy’s family owns

He’s the night manager along with Amy and they spend most of their late nights snogging in the office

It isn’t until Amy get pregnant that Stephan starts to actually grow up and he decides that he doesn’t want to be an employee anymore

He and Amy buy a huge manor and turn it into a wedding venue/hotel

It’s called the Lovegood Manor

Alena Mary Thomas:

Born December 9, 2036

She was not expected at all

But Lily is really happy for the chance of a daughter, and she is not disappointed

Ryan is nervous to have a daughter, but it goes away the second he holds her

Michael and Stephan are both angry about Lily having another baby, but the bigger she gets, the more quietly excited they get

Alena brings a lot of joy to them as a family

She’s a dancer like Lily and loves to perform, she puts on little recitals for anyone she can (especially her Grandpa Harry and Nana Ginny)

She’s sorted into Hufflepuff at Hogwarts along with her favorite cousin Lilliana

The pair of them cause a little trouble, but it’s all in good fun and usually aimed at Al

(He takes a great joy in writing to his siblings about their children misbehaving)

She keeps up with her dancing at school and in the summers help Lily teach classes at the dance studio

When she graduates, she has no idea what she wants to do and spends a lot of time going from job to job

She finds a home at the Leaky Cauldron as a server/barmaid

She eventually takes over and brings back the music nights that Teddy would tell her about

It also gives her the opportunity to dance behind the bar and have some fun

So in case anyone was wondering, I have a living document of the whole Weasley family, including all of the kids, and their kids, and other families that have appeared in my fics. I use it as reference all the time and it helps me keep my ages and dates straight across all of my fics, and also because I don’t know when someone might become relevant to a story. Such as Susan Bones when she appeared in Invisible String.

S1E02 “In Bad Waters” Masterlist

     Paragould, Arkansas      September 21st,2005 - Two months ago

     “Where’s that damn gravy, Susan?!”      The scene that’s playing out in an idyllic and homey dining room, is in fact anything but a perfect family portrait. Two children are seated at the long end of the dinner table, their father at the end, impatient and agitated. The man glares at the kitchen, from which his wife appears with his requested gravy, setting it down in front of him.      “Here you go, honey,” she returns, ignoring his tone.

     Without a word, her husband pours an unhealthy amount over his potatoes and chicken, then begins to eat. The kids, a young boy and girl, watch him as they stir their food, quietly. The local weather forecast is broadcast on the television in the other room, the report of the weatherman breaking the cold silence. 

His son, probably not older than twelve, looks up from his dinner after taking his last bite.      “Can I be excused?” he asks, carefully.      His father grunts and without wasting words dismisses the teenager with a flick of the wrist. Relieved, his son does so, picking up his plate and taking it to the kitchen, where he drops it in the sink. He then slips into the living room.

     “Can I go too?” the young girl pleads.      “Shut up and eat your dinner,” her father barks at her.      He starts on the chicken leg, tearing the flesh from the bone. His wife sits down opposite of their daughter to silently eat her meal.      “It’s gonna be 83° tomorrow, Dad,” his boy says, excited.      “I can hear that, son. I’m not deaf!” he shouts back.      “Daddy, I’m not hungry anymore,” the girl states, hesitatingly.      “I don’t give a damn, that plate is clean in five minutes, or else...”      “Ronald,” the woman warns him.      “No, I’m so sick of her stalling. I have better things to do! I’m gonna miss my show,” he growls and turns back to his daughter. “Eat your food or I’ll stuff it in.”      “I’m full!” she objects, frustrated.

     In a blink of an eye he backhands her and she gasps sharply. When she looks back up to her father, tears gather in her big brown eyes. Then she quickly flees and runs to the stairs.      “Laura! Get back here!” her father roars.      But she doesn’t listen and the door to her room slams.      “Dad, your show’s on,” his son informs him from the other room.      “Goddamnit! That’s it, I’ve had it up to here with her!” He gets up, wipes his mouth with a napkin and follows his daughter, furiously, taking two steps at a time as he climbs the stairs.      The door to her room busts open, the wooden floorboards cracking under his feet.       “Daddy, please don’t. Please… No, no!” Laura cries, wailing after the first punch.      “Come here you little… How do you like this, huh? And this!” he shouts, his sadistic sneers rising above the sounds of tumbling furniture and desperate screams.

     Her mother stares at the staircase, but remains seated. As if she doesn’t hear the constant beating and screaming, she pricks a potato on her fork and eats it. One long loud scream of her daughter that overrides all others, then everything goes quiet.
