If I could make a version of the defenders for dc, i think i can easily find good parables for the defenders. I'll cover the founding team members of Doctor Strange, Hulk, Namor and the Silver Surfer here. Just to show the counterparts i could think of at DC (and to demonstrate the potential of a team like this for DC):

Doctor Strange: His counterpart has to be Doctor Fate. Both of them practice the arcane and mystic arts, both have Doctor in their names, both have love interests who seem like their only supporting characters (Clea and Inza Nelson), both have very private homes (Strange has his Sanctum, Fate has his tower), etc.

The Hulk: For me, Hulk's equivalent is Etrigan. Bruce Banner would have a natural counterpart in Jason Blood. And I realize these characters are different in quite a few ways, but they're the closest counterparts each other have (i think).

Namor: Namor's counterpart just has to be Aquaman. I don't think there's anyone else it could be. Personally, i think Namor is more interesting than Aquaman. But they definitely are each other's counterparts.

Silver Surfer: I see Silver Surfer's equivalent as Martian Manhunter. They're both lonely individuals with histories of tragedy and who've lost loved ones (Martian Manhunter saw his family die, The Silver Surfer had to give up his love to save his planet). They're not identical characters, but I think they work as counterparts.

Jake🛹

He's high average due to his stamina, speed, and i'd argue all the surfers have pretty high endurance (especially Jake) since of how often they get injured, walk off pain, and run face first into trains (stationary or moving). I'm also willing to bet he weighs more than the other surfers since he's constantly eating some snack, while you can argue that he burns his calories... constantly consider thats a lot of food..

Fresh📻

Placing him below Jake, I'm going to say his speed and stamina are also comparable to Jake, while its stated that he doesn't get out much due to his family, it doesn't seem to affect his athleticism. Although he most likely weighs less than Jake, so if he were to say try to use his body weight to tackle someone it would be less effective than Jake's attempt.

Tricky🩰

Placing her below Jake, on the same level as Fresh for the same speed, stamina, and endurance ranking, I want to take her ballet skills into consideration, I've never done ballet but i imagine its physically straining, however we never see her ballet abilities be used in a way that can positively affect her strength. If we do see her use her skill to her advantage, i'd be willing to place her above Fresh.

Yutani👽

Placing her in "Subject to change" but if i had to i'd put her currently either below King or in below average, I do believe the Yutani is an alien theory (specifically one heavily aligned with Infinity, like Frank) so I think it's plausible for her to receive a power up.

King👑

He's placed at the tail end of Average, nothing notable really. He could arguably fit just fine on weaker than average, but since he's running along with the subway surfers (despite still not being one himself in canon), so i'm going to give him the same speed, stamina, and endurance as the others.

Dog🦴

Putting him in string because that dog is literally DRAGGING a heavy grown ass man like its nothing, bro was made to pull sleds in the arctic. I don't have much more to add to that little dog got the strength of a towtruck.

Guard🔦

Putting him above average since he's a full grown adult with noteworthy stamina, im also going to mention his physical strength, since doesn't have trouble with running on his own despite his size. Even though he's shown to be out of breath sometimes, he never truly stops or gives up his chase which is admirable shout out bro.

Frank🐰

Do I need to explain myself? Frank is shown to have multiple superhuman abilities such as his remarkable speed and his own canon feats, like the fact thats he's able to solo Donkey Kong. This also definitely isn't his full capabilities and there's definitely more to his skillset that we haven't seen.

SYN: 4 Privet Drive isn't the best place to spend a summer's break in. The girl next door to him begs to differ.

Harry is upset, incredibly so. Harsh winds blow outside, muffling the sounds of Dudley's TV as it turns itself off in the room upstairs. Summer has been a right tosser, and it was going to continue being this way until Uncle Vernon can shut his fat mouth and suck it up.

Aunt Petunia isn't any better — succumbing to Dudley's insistent nagging as it convinces her to make Harry do the dirty dishes instead of her son, the piles adding onto each other as the hours pass quicker than they persist. He wishes to Merlin or whoever listens that he could use magic somehow. Maybe they'll legalize it next year; if only Fudge wouldn't fuss too much about whatever Dumbledore is doing.

For the upteenth time since he started washing the plates, Harry nudges his glasses upright with the back of his wrist, the sleeves of his surfer's shirt that Ron's mum gave him soaking wet with soapy dishwashing water. The TV downstairs buzzes along; it was the weather girl with the big hair that Uncle Vernon was quite fond of. It always ticks Aunt Petunia's stinger like a loud brass. While the presenter talks Harry's ears off, the big man of 4 Privet Drive resumes to snore asleep on the couch.

Harry cannot fathom how the anger inside of him intensified each year he returned to Privet Drive. It's like a demon's taken space inside of him, colonizing his lungs and heart, leaving no room for good conscience. It convinces him that nothing, and it presses that absolutely nothing is of any good in this grey, constricted suburbia.

Strange, but perhaps after what loveliness he's been exposed to in Hogwarts and around it only made the cruelty of 4 Privet Drive much more intolerable as time passes; or perhaps it was Voldemort's presence. Antagonizing him, consuming him, becoming him until he was nothing short of a cursed child—

A pretty girl is outside the window.

Harry tilts his head, blinking once and twice. He fixes his glasses once more, leaving a spot of detergent water on the bridge of his nose. It was a bicycle — sure, it was — but riding it was a girl. No, a woman. A young woman. Perhaps his age, maybe a year older, he couldn't really tell. She brings along magazines and cards, parking her bicycle just sideways across their lawn. Aunt Petunia will blow a fuse.

Nothing, absolutely nothing is of any good here.

Harry shakes the thought away. His gaze ticks from the living room, then back outside. He guesses she's be gone by now, but her curious form waits outside — alone, determined. He doesn't know what she's aiming for. It's a gloomy afternoon and no one is out.

Footsteps emerge downstairs, and Aunt Petunia's orders for her husband resounds as a shrilling noise across the hardwood floors. Harry winces, covering his ears with the insides of his flannel. He rinses his hands, turning the sink of afterwards before heading out to the front lawn.

"You shouldn't be here," Harry said through gritted teeth, hurrying towards her after he locks the door behind him. The cold air hit him like the Knight Bus on a swerve, and he wonders how she can withstand such a tempreature in only a dress and a cardigan.

She crosses her arms, eyes deadset his way, "Why?"

"It's— my aunt—," Harry's words constricted as she faces him.

Her eyes are a deep pool, scorching with magic-made fire; her hair twirls around like inklings as the wind blows through them. He doesn't recall her ever attending Hogwarts. She cannot be a muggle.

She raises a brow, "If you don't have a good reason to hold me back, leave me be. I'm only selling cakes."

"Did– did you just say 'cakes'?", Harry asks, brushing off how stupid he sounds.

She smiles in excitement, handing him a piece of paper, "I sell desserts. You should try them. They're pretty and sweet, sort of like your eyes right there."

Harry chokes on his own spit. He clears his throat, his face burning red before laughing, a nervous vibration from the back of his mouth. At this, she inches closer to him, intrigued with his sudden vulnerability.

"I was talking about how, y'know," she softly gestures to them, looking up a bit his way, "they're green, like my mint cookies."

The corner of Harry's mouth lifts to a smirk; both smug and caught off guard by the compliment. He leans against the mailbox, but slips and puts his hand behind his neck instead. She bit her lip to stifle a giggle.

The girl handed him a box and introduces her name.

"I live at 12 Privet Drive," she points a straight road across, but Harry can only see how soft her skin looks in the dress she wears, "just around the corner."

"Yeah," Harry nods profusely, speaking faster than his brain can think, "yeah, twelveth. Heard of it. Feel it. Sure, yeah."

She laughs at his antics. Merlin, he was on fire.

"You'll be here all summer?" she asks while giving a flyer to Mrs. Figs, the old broad with the dead husband living across Uncle Vernon's house.

Mrs. Figs complimented her 'sweet smile' before resuming to walk her tortoise, Spectacle, to the suburb's park. Harry shrugs, toying with the cardboard of the cookie box,

"I'll be back to school quite soon."

"Oh yeah?" she lilted, "me too."

This is his chance.

"I'm Harry," he mentions, and she shrugs.

"I've heard."

Now it's his turn to be surprised. How come she recalls his name when he hasn't seen her yet?

An empathetic shade paints her eyes, "Word goes around, you see."

"Yeah," Harry says, a lump lodged in his chest, and by a spontaneous courage, he risks his facade to ask, "you believe them?"

She scrunches her face, shaking her head. It's so simple. It's so... delightful, to be believed. She doesn't think he's crazy.

Uncle Vernon calls him from inside, an utterly humiliating action as his yells echo against the walls of the other homes across Privet Drive. The girl winces, gazing away from the scene. He hates that man.

"I'm sorry," he says, wanting to do more than just verbally utter his apology, "please, I— do you usually come here every day?"

"Yes," she says, the determination returning in her eyes. She hands her pamphlet to a passing little girl on her tricycle, but her attention was on Harry, "I'll be here. Same time, if things go well."

She might just be what keeps him living until Summer break ends. He'll keeps his promise. He will. He has to.

Harry returns indoors to a dusty room, no one to hold, no one to talk to.

Nothing, absolutely nothing is of any good in this grey, constricted suburbia.

He hopes tomorrow will come sooner than usual.

Mike declaring his "love" for El is what Henry has been waiting for.

Will, the well-intentioned selfless idiot that he is, has accidentally set in motion Henry's best chance to finally achieve his goals of...world domination? What exactly is he after, anyway?

El was on her way to becoming a stronger person. She faced her demons. She accepted her past mistakes that led to Henry's massacre, confronted Dr. Brenner and rejected his manipulations once and for all, and stopped seeing herself as Mike's idealized superhero girlfriend. It seemed that she was set to move past all of her biggest insecurities, which would allow her to face Henry without any mental weaknesses for him to exploit.

Then Will saw Mike moping about El. He couldn't handle Mike talking badly about himself. He wanted to let Mike know how he sees him, but, of course, he felt it wouldn't mean anything coming from him. So, he put El's name on everything, not even noticing how Mike's initial excited reaction at seeing the painting was dulled at Will crediting El with it. Nevertheless, Mike was overcome with emotion at someone seeing him exactly the way he always wished he would be seen. And, because of Will, he thinks it's how El sees him.

It remains curious that Mike and El never had an emotional conversation after they reunited. Yes, there was initially no time for that since they had to get back on the road to escape Sullivan. However, even with their need to plan what they needed to do to save Max, they could have talked. They were in that van fairly long considering it was daytime when El was rescued and night when they reached Surfer Boy Pizza. Perhaps they didn't want to talk in front of everyone else, though that didn't stop Will. They didn't really get a chance at that until everyone else was preparing for El's saltwater bath.

What may well have been a gentle breakup or, at the very least, an honest conversation about their relationship issues, instead was interrupted by Argyle. Indeed, Mike seemed eager to goof off with his blackout glasses and then seemed nervous when El took his hands with that "we need to talk" look. That conversation was their only chance to have a real talk, but they had no chance, and El was soon in the pizza freezer trying to save Max.

This brings us to the second part of Will's well-intentioned mistake. El is in danger. Henry managed to get the upper hand. El appeared to be dying. In an effort to give her strength, Will prompts Mike to talk to her. He's the heart. Mike had been hesitating, but he tells her he loves her. It's a bit unclear just what sort of effect this had on El, whether it helped or distracted her. However, she does eventually steel herself and, seeing that Max was about to be killed, summons the strength to fight back. Max is partially saved, but we never see Mike and El talk afterwards.

El is naturally rattled by Max's fate. She lost, and Max suffered for it. However, she makes no apparent attempts to find comfort or reassurance in Mike. Aside from the hospital room, she was quiet, going off on her own. The strong, determined, self-assured young woman she was growing into has fallen back into insecurity.

Meanwhile, Will has sacrificed his greatest desire for what he thinks will give Mike and El happiness. That will be Henry's opportunity.

Make no mistake: Henry knows that Will loves Mike. He had Will integrated into the hive mind. Brain scans showed that Will's mind was almost entirely taken over. He knows Will's every secret, and he also knows that Mike was the one who finally broke through to him in the shed. Mike trusts Will completely, and Will is able to sense Henry's presence.

Mike is the fly in the ointment, the spanner in the works. He's been far more of a problem for Henry than he even realizes. Mike is a problem for him. Will is a problem for him. Mike and Will together would be an even bigger problem.

In order to win, Henry needs three things to happen. First, isolate El. She is the only one who is capable of facing him one-on-one. She is stronger when she has something to fight for, something driving her to overcome the odds. If she doubts herself, he has a chance. He needs to take away her support system by either killing them or separating her from them.

Second, Mike needs to be taken out of the picture. Will was right. Mike is the leader, the heart. He knows how to rally an group of ordinary kids, now teens, to do things that should be well out of their abilities. Mike is caring, brave, and intelligent, but also very insecure. If he can get Mike doubting himself, then he won't be able to support El, Will, or anyone else.

Finally, Will has always been special to Henry. We don't yet know why, exactly, but Henry targeted Will from the start. Even after Will was rescued, Henry tried again a year later to bring Will into his control. It could be that he hates losing that much, or it could be that Will has some yet to be revealed asset that Henry needs. Their mental connection, at the very least, is a huge liability for Henry, but it has also been an asset for him in the past.

It seems to reason that any plan of Henry's needs to address these three, and I think it fits with what we know so far.

El seems to largely be isolated. She's apparently in hiding, which is likely since she's essentially a fugitive from the government. This would eventually take its toll on anyone, but El is also a teenager with a lifetime of trauma. She saw her best friend die. She has to hide from hostile forces while trying to protect the world from literal monsters. Over time, the stress could make her snap. Henry just has to keep her busy and away from the others.

We know that Holly is targeted by Henry, and Karen may end up in the hospital with severe injuries. This could very well be a calculated plan by Henry to get Mike out of the way. Killing Mike would probably enrage El to the point of her becoming too big of a threat, and it would also make it difficult to bring Will back under his control. Instead, he can target Mike's family to sow enough doubt in him to force him out of the picture. At the very least, he can distract Mike from being able to support the others if he's worried about his family, instead.

This would leave Will vulnerable, as well. We have reason to believe that Will has flashbacks/visions, possibly right away in episode 1. It's reasonable to think that the others could worry about Will being a spy for Henry again. Mike would trust him, but the others might think it'd be safer for Will to be away from the action, so Henry would be unable to use him. Rejection is a fear of Will's, not only from Mike, but in general. He wouldn't take it well if his friends saw him as a tool of the enemy. If Mike were to be too caught up in his own head to reassure Will, or, worse, start to see reason to doubt Will, himself, then Will could fall into a downward spiral. Will loves Mike. Needs him. Any rejection from Mike is painful to him. He may try to pretend that he's moved on, but feelings like those don't just go away. This would give Henry an opportunity to tempt him or outright possess him again.

Of course, we know that Henry will ultimately lose. This is all just how I feel he will try to attack what I see as his biggest obstacles to victory. Any thoughts?

hi everyone! this entire idea from the very beginning has been in the works for a very long time (i originally got the idea for something like this back in 2019) so i’m so happy its finally in the works!! this is gonna be a very heavy task for me but my goal is to get these all out by the end of the year <3 also i don’t know if all of these bands are considered “emo” but these are all bands that i listened to during that phase of my life. and its my series so idc LMAO. its heejakehoon centric cause that’s my bias line and i knew i would need a lot of inspo if i was going to commit to this series (plus a lot of different things in terms of planning and organizing that we don’t have time to get into rn lmao) soo i’m sorry to the jay/sunoo/won/riki stans :< p!atd (fuck brendon tho) and mcr were my favorite bands growing up therefore i know most music from them so that’s why each of them has one album from both bands! i don’t expect these to change very much but don’t be surprised if i switch any of them around. anyway i’m yapping SO i hope you guys are excited for this as much as i am!!
