WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT

So ok, my understanding was that everything after House walking into Cuddy's office the first time while trying to tell her he's quitting was just a vicodin induced dream. Amber never really left, Cuddy never slept with him and helped him detox, Cameron never told Chase about the sperm.

Kutner shows up because again their case was in tandem with everyone else's personal lives and their case was about identity and given that House's subconscious most likely made up this whole episode it showed us that his own misgivings with his understanding of his own "split" brain. And then all of this topped off by how the lipstick was a metaphor and so was Cuddy for his love for vicodin, well not his love but rather his addiction.

And then topping all of it off, just as a side note, the parralell of Cameron and Chase's wedding being side by side parraelled with House walking away and into a new life away from Wilson, and away from his own obsession. While Chase and Cameron walk into their new life aswell but similarly to House and Wilson one of them is still holding onto a memory/obsession/addiction of their past, while their counter part is hoping that they will eventually let that go.

Recent technological advances are enabling the development of computational tools that could significantly improve the quality of life of individuals with disabilities or sensory impairments. These include so-called electromyography-to-speech (ETS) conversion models, designed to convert electrical signals produced by skeletal muscles into speech. Researchers at University of Bremen and SUPSI recently introduced Diff-ETS, a model for ETS conversion that could produce more natural synthesized speech. This model, introduced in a paper posted to the preprint server arXiv, could be used to develop new systems that allow people who are unable to speak, such as patients who underwent a laryngectomy (a surgery to remove part of the human voice box), to communicate with others.

A microfluidic device for detecting SARS-CoV-2

02.02.23 - A new microfluidic device developed by scientists in Switzerland can detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus with high accuracy and speed, using a unique DNA/RNA duplex technology. The device can prove to be a game-changer in the fight against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic created an urgent need for ways to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus quickly, accurately and on a massive scale in order to control its spread. Now, scientists from three Swiss institutions have developed a new microfluidic device that can detect SARS-CoV-2 with a high degree of accuracy. The device can distinguish SARS-CoV-2 from other respiratory viruses such as the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), making it a potential game-changer in the fight against coronaviruses. The project was led by Sandrine Gerber-Lemaire at EPFL, Igor Stefanini at SUPSI, and Francesco Bertoni at USI. The device uses a DNA biosensor to detect RNA from SARS-CoV-2 in human saliva. When viral RNA binds to the DNA biosensor, it forms a DNA/RNA duplex. This is then detected by the sensor, which can pick up as little as 10 attomolar of the virus RNA. For perspective, one attomolar is equivalent to a drop of water in an Olympic-size swimming pool. The device is based on microfluidics, a technology that controls the flow of very small amounts of liquids through tiny channels. With microfluidics, the new device controls the flow of saliva to allow the DNA biosensor to detect viral RNA. The DNA/RNA duplex is then detected with fluorescence measurements. In Ticino circa il 4% degli edifici è dotato di fotovoltaico, contro il 5% media Svizzera. Nel 2022 per via dell’aumento del prezzo dell’energia elettrica, per grandi consumatori (non vincolati), prevalentemente aziende che in Ticino dispongono di grandi tetti (capannoni) finora non sfruttati, moltissime aziende per risparmiare sull’elettricità, hanno finalmente realizzato l’impianto FV. Intanto però pur essendo il Cantone più soleggiato, pioniere 40 anni fa con il TISO, che fu il primo impianto FV in rete in Europa sul tetto della STS a Trevano, comunque il Ticino è indietro non dell’1% ma almeno del 20% per rapporto alla media Svizzera. Fino ad un anno fa in Ticino si contavano 5.774 impianti per una potenza di 102 MWp, il Cantone riteneva buona la situazione vedi rapporto SUPSI che afferma: “L’obiettivo fissato dal Piano Energetico Cantonale (PEC) per il 2035, pari a 99 MW, è stato superato durante il 2020.” Purtroppo in Ticino ci si basa ancora su un PEC che rapportato agli sviluppi sia tecnologici che del mercato del rinnovabile e agli obiettivi della svolta energetica è da molto tempo obsoleto. Secondo la Strategia Energetica votata dal popolo nel 2017 l’obiettivo 2035, per il nuovo rinnovabile, è a 11.4 TWh per il fotovoltaico; in Ticino sarebbe attorno ai 600 GWh, e non i circa 109 GWh del Piano d’Azione 2013 PEC in vigore. Da notare che a livello Nazionale è in corso la revisione degli obiettivi da 11.4 TWh a 17 TWh Inoltre il Consiglio Federale ha proposto di aumentare l'obiettivo a 35 TWh Consiglio degli Stati.
