during the follow up to the millenium giants stuff, when blueperman and superman red are doing some fuck shit with the earth's core, we get:

lois, clark (first as superman) and john henry also work together and hang out a bunch during various plots in "man of steel"!! and then we get this:

The first one: I got nothing. I'm not really into women, but I do want Cassie and Kara to be a terrible, hot lesbian power couple

Kon and Kenan: Tim is texting him. He's tapping his feet. He's at the boathouse, waiting for Conner to arrive. But, hmm, maybe Kon is late because of a giant robot in Metropolis. Checking the newsfeeds, he sees nothing, checking twitter and Facebook, bubkis, insta - he sees video of Kon and Kenan flying somewhere together. He calls and all he hears is "hey baby, grunt, pant," cut to Kenan tearing into Kon's hole with a ferocity and intensity. Leaning down while Conner is on the phone, Kenan whispers something and Kon turns on facetime so Tim can see what he was worried was happening the whole time - and he's never been hornier than seeing the hung Asian hero fucking his boyfriend into a new century

Clark and John Henry: The Genesis tech Clark bought keeps changing Supers in unpredictable ways. For Kon, it supercharged his powers. For Kenan, it supercharged his magic. For Clark, he was so fucking desperate to be touched and used like a good hole every time John Henry got close with the tech, and JH just... needed to test a theory, like a good scientist. Cut to cumdump Clark

GOD same like. I like Superbat, I find it compelling. (of course, I'm also a multishipper who really likes Clois and Supersteel as well) But the majority of the shippers/fic/etc about it drives me nuts. Quit randomly sideswiping Lois!! Where is one goddamn thing about Clark and his family and his emotions in this!! I almost want to start putting a quota of something along the lines of "if you have a batboy appear you must also talk about Kon (and not as a way to make him arm candy for Tim). Just!!! It's so frustrating that it's all cardboard cutout Clark because god forbid they like. Think of him at all. And the complete inability to treat Clark like his own separate character is so aggravating.

At the moment I just really want to scream "STOP MAKING THE SUPERMAN MOVIE ABOUT BATMAN ALREADY" because it seems like every other post right now about the Superman 2025 movie is about how eager people are to ship him with Battinson.

yeah i agree 100% and i'm already kind of sick of seeing art of corensupes with battinson.

and super/bat is a really interesting ship in concept! but you have to wade through so much SHIT on ao3 that it's almost not worth getting into the ship for me. like, there's an interesting class dynamic going on there. clark's feelings of loneliness and alienation and how bruce would find that relatable are interesting themes. the idea of having dual identities that are masks and very few people getting to see the "real you."

but nope. your average super/bat fic is "bruce gets injured - clark takes care of him." clark is always in the caretaker role. batfamily shenanigans. bruce gets to have an entire social circle with his batfamily but god forbid a fic writer mention jimmy or kara or the kents or lois in a way that isn't disrespectful to her. the amount of times i've clicked on fics that seem to have cool premises and then they hit me with "oh, lois couldn't HANDLE superman. she's AFRAID of his powers, she can't handle sex with him" etc etc. like be so fucking serious right now. i hate how many super/bat fics just go out of their way to make lois a shitty ex girlfriend who's bad at sex and then ignore her for the rest of the fic.

it just feels like too many (obviously not all) super/bat shippers are just batman fans and clark is just the most convenient male to ship him with.

Mornings On Earth-38. // Kara’s Apartment

“Hey, that’s kinda cool,” Nate perks up, finger still pointing at the words on the screen; it is an article someone had posted a couple years back detailing the miraculous rescue of a failing aircraft. “It says here you saved a plane as your opening act as Supergirl?” He mouths ‘A plane?!’ to Kara who merely giggles and stuffs another fork-full of pancakes in her mouth.

“Yup!” she says through syrupy batter. Her head shakes vigourously up and down.

“I mean, I stopped a train loaded with Dwarf Star,” he adds, “but to each their own.” He ducks his head back down to the article, hoping Kara might catch his concealed humour.

“Are you jealous, Nathaniel?” she says, a smirk forming along those perfect lips. There is a smile in her eyes, as there always is and as Nate always comes to expect when around her, and he finds himself sinking into the gorgeous blue.

“I’m just comparing notes, that’s all,” he says, but he finally breaks his gaze away from the screen to give her a grin. A small grin, yet a pleasant one. One that both parts concludes his bout of humour and thanks her for the pancakes. “You are a hard one to live up to. I’m just trying to be half as cool.”

The hummed laughter he stirs up from her is worth paying her with all the compliments in the world.
