How do you feel about Haru getting eliminated ? T-T i feel so upset abt him getting eliminated
I'm so so so pissed, upset, sad and angry you don't have any idea.
Like throughout the show he has done everything to portray his talents (which he did amazingly).
First on LMR team his rap was amazing, like his tone and the way his voice went up and down was so unique I loved it, and imo compared to junghyeon it was better (I'm still salty g group didn't won that one because I keep repeating Jay's high note and the raps every fucking day).
Then Zoom, his rap was so fun to watch as well, his "nuh uh" leaves in my head rent free I swear to God, and his dance break was great too!! (Like my boy was slaying). And it was a pity as well because Zoom deserved to win that one, it left an impact on me, not like Law didn't but I think that Zoom was so fun to watch that I forgot about the others (why can't something fun win for once?)
And then Supercharger, OMG. At first I found the song quite strange but the more I listened to it the more I liked it, like the "supercharger, super supercharger" was stuck on me. And taking into account that he started from zero because haruto was the only one left from the previous elimination and they did what they did in 3 days (are you hearing that, 3 FUCKING DAYS) I find more admirable his work than anyone else there.
I think that haruto has suffered from being placed into teams that gave amazing performances but in terms of popularity not the best, so you know what fans do 💀💀💀
So yeah I'm really really really mad because people should have voted for him, but instead they voted for like gyuvin and yujin? Not to hate them but they aren't ready to debut yet! I don't see them standing out too much, like they aren't bad of course ,but they just don't say anything to me. Besides yujin is too young, he's my cousin's age and I see them as literal kids 💀
But yeah, those are my thoughts :)

In the same boat | Helmut Zemo
Tumblr media
Requested by anon
Male Reader
He had been curious from the very start. From the very moment his eyes had landed on you he had been taken with you. There was something so familiar in you that reflected on him. That's probably why it happened.
That curiosity manifested into more. It started because he wanted to know what you were hiding, but to be fair he deserved your closed off reaponces. He wasn't sharing much with you himself.
It was only fair.
The more time he had to spend with you, the worse it got. The point of no return soon passed and there was nothing he could to do to fix it. All he could do was keep quiet and pretend, but that was fixing the problem, it just made it worse.
He was torturing himself.
He deserved that. At least, that's what he kept telling himself. Zemo would look at you and then punish himself for even glancing in your direction.
You needed better than him. What could he offer you? A lifetime of misery, that much he was sure of.
Because he was so caught up in his own misery and delusions, he missed the way you were looking at him. You understood Zemo. You knew enough about him to know he was just like you.
Both of you were bad people to everyone else because of the things you had done. You were also both insanely clever and often had the upper hand of people.
You were in the same boat.
This would lead to you believing you would make a good team. You could be someone he could count on and maybe even open to. You felt he wanted that, needed it.
You stuck with him.
You were his eyes in all his blond spots. You had his back. You intended to anyway.
Things can get messy so quick. That's when panic sets in and things go far more wrong than before. It was never suppose to go this way.
You wanted to help him, support him. Instead you failed.
Your heart was racing. Your mind spiralling out of control. He was fine one moment, and then the shot rang out. You couldn't see where they were. They must have been in your blind spot. Zemo had been to busy covering from the front to see them.
He went down pretty quickly.
Scared didn't cover how you felt. Everything was going off the deep end and you didn't know how to fix it.
He was bleeding badly. You had dragged him into cover and takes to stop the bleeding with yours hands. Your panicked mind couldn't think. Your hands were stained red and you decided you hated the colour.
One of his hands settled over yours. You looked at his face with glistening eyes, gasps escaping your lips in rapid panic. You didn't know what to do.
"Y/N, stop."
You shook your head. You swallowed harshly, shifting your gaze down to his wounds. Red oozed from under your hands. It was sickly warm.
"Look at me."
You shake your head again. If Zemo dies today you would never forgive yourself. He was your perfect partner. He understood you like no one else did. You couldn't lose that.
You couldn't lose someone you fell in love with. The pain would be unbearable.
"I won't let you die."
"I'm not going to die."
"You will if I let go."
He grunts, the pain burning him with his movement. You tried to get him to stop, but he was ignoring you. He wanted to move.
"I deserve it, really."
"No. No you don't," you mutter, keeping your gaze down and away from his eyes.
"What about you?"
"What about me?" You ask, whispering.
"Do you deserve death?"
"Yes."
"We are the same, you and I. We both think we deserve that of which we don't think the other does. We are terrible because we hate ourselves and love each other to dearly to let the other get what they think they should have."
"What are you saying?" You meet his dark eyes.
"I'm saying that I know how you feel because I feel it too. I was trying to turn a blind eye to it because you could do better."
You stare at him, silence falling until he speaks again.
"I've been in love before. I know what this is. The fact that I have any love left to give surprised me, but it does not surprise me that it's for you."
"You're the best I'm ever going to get, Zemo."
He smiles.
"I suppose that's true."
You swallow again. Tears fall, but you're panicking an more. The blood is still warm under your hands, but you're not worried any more.
You think it's the way he is looking at you that is settling you.
"I'm going to help you, Zemo. If you die on me, what would have been the point of this conversation?"
"The point is I know you better than anyone and I'm in love with you."
You plant a kiss on his forehead and take a deep breath. Your mind is calmer now. You can focus again.
If those words of his were true, then that's all you needed to hear.
"I'm going to save you and we're going to be OK."
He chuckles softly, ignoring the pain.
You were two peas in a pod, and you needed each other more than anything. At the end of the day, you only had one another.
Your hearts would agree.
Only once he was back in top form would you tell him those words.
He would tell you again too, when everything was right. Zemo had no intention on letting you go, not now when he has you finally.

A new Nightmare begins
Kaos and Glumshanks were face to face with Kaossandra, who had inexplicably escaped her imprisonment from within the mirror.
“Mother!? How is this possible?” Kaos looked over to Glumshanks who could only shrug his shoulders as the slender woman approached the two. “You were supposed to stay in that mirror forever!”
“I’m sorry to disappoint you Kaos.” Kaossandra patted her much shorter son on the head while observing the main hall inside the family castle. “Unfortunately, even I do not know how this could happen. I was inside the mirror, dreading my fate as usual, when suddenly the glass broke and it crashed down. Then you arrived.”
Kaos turned around as his mother kept admiring all the objects and furniture which have been just out of her reach for such a long time. “So, you didn’t free yourself?”
“If I could, I would have done so years ago.” Kaossandra turned to one of the windows, allowing her to get a good view of the castle garden. “But this is something different. I can feel it.”
Glumshanks, who clutched onto Kaos’ shoulders, couldn’t tear his eyes away from the woman. “And what’s that, mistress Kaossandra?”
“My powers are weakened, despite not using them for such a long time.” Kaossandra was brooding. “Perhaps… no it cannot be.”
“What cannot be?” Kaos moved away from Glumshanks to better hear what his mother had to say.
“My powers stem from no other source than the Darkness itself, as do yours.” Hearing that, Kaos looked up to the symbol on his forehead which was briefly taken from him by said Darkness once. He knew what she was talking about. “But it’s more than just a power source, it’s a being. If it so desires, it can take our powers in an instant. The only reason it doesn’t is because it needs accomplices and hosts ever since it’s been banished by the Ancients.”
Kaos thought about that, but something didn’t add up. “That can’t be right! When I set the Darkness free and the Skylanders defeated it, my powers were still there! I mean it took a while to get them back, but still!”
“That’s because you can’t just defeat the Darkness, you fool!” Kaossandra hissed at her spawn. “The Skylanders have no idea what they’re up against. The Darkness is far more powerful than anything this world has to offer! They might have been able to destroy its physical form temporarily, but the true Darkness will always remain.”
“Then where is it now?” Kaos was curious but also nervous about what might happen if that dangerous threat was ever to return.
“I don’t know, I can’t connect with it like I used to. That’s anything but a good sign.” Kaossandra thoughtfully looked out the window, wondering why all of this was happening now. “It looks like the Darkness has other plans for the Skylands. One that doesn’t include us.”
Kaos gulped and Glumshanks began to tremble as they all gazed through the single window in front of Kaossandra.
One week has passed since Hex’ and Malefor’s ambush on the Academy. Even though the witch surrendered and destroyed Malefor before more harm was done, the Skylanders lost a beloved ally during the battle. Not to mention that Kaos managed to escape as well.
Spyro was lying in his bed staring up at the ceiling. He didn’t feel like getting up today. He hasn’t been feeling like getting up on any of the last few days in fact, but he had to. After a long sigh, the dragon pushed himself up, put his feet on the ground and left his room. He walked through the Academy where he was greeted by his many companions. The leader didn’t return more than a dry “Morning” and some nods. In front of the main entrance, Spyro stopped and looked to his left. He saw Cynder’s monument which was built after her unfortunate passing. In the center was a portrait of the Undead Skylander with black and purple flowers adorning it and some lit candles underneath. Even though it was there to honor and remember her, it always made Spyro feel like his heart was being pierced with a dagger.
“Hey.” Stealth Elf walked up to her friend as her sight went towards the shrine. She let out a heavy sigh. “I really wish that didn’t have to be there.”
At first Spyro had the obscure thought that the elf was suggesting that there shouldn’t be anything to honor their fallen friend, but he quickly realized that she actually meant there shouldn’t have to be anything to honor her in the first place. “Yeah, me too.” They looked at the memorial for a few more moments before continuing their path together. “What’s the plan for today?”
Stealth Elf pulled out a piece of paper which she used to write down all the assignments of the day. It was crumpled and the words were messily scribbled, but it was good enough for her to read it. “There have been reports about the Kaos situation. Some activity at his family castle, so it’s safe to assume that he’s returned there.”
Spyro nodded. “That’s good to hear, then we have to send a team.”
Stealth Elf continued. “Besides that, there were a few evil minions sighted that we should take care of. No Golden Queen though, it seems Sprocket really got the job done.”
“I sure hope so.” Even though the technician told them that she buried the queen beneath her palace, none of them knew that she survived. “Anything else?”
“One last thing…” Stealth Elf was hesitant about that point, but she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it. “Someone needs to check on the villains at Cloudcracker Prison. The Trap Masters have taken some time off after making sure they were all locked up again, but an inspection is overdue.”
Spyro remembered how most of the prisoners had to be released and kept inside the cafeteria in order to make room for the possessed Skylanders until that was resolved. “That won’t be a problem, I can go and check on them-”
“All of them.” Stealth Elf put emphasis on all. Spyro went silent and had an empty stare. He wanted to say something but just couldn’t. When he opened his mouth, the Life Skylander stopped him. “Nightfall already said she’d go. I know you can’t see her yet.”
Spyro closed his mouth again and nodded. “Thanks.” He didn’t look the elf in the eyes anymore and just kept walking straight ahead.
Northwest from the Academy only a few islands away was the infamous Cloudcracker Prison standing in its full crystalline glory. It was currently holding more villains than ever before, ranging from the sinister Doom Raiders to the smallest of greebles. Below the many floors and cells was one dark room hidden in the lower part of the building. It was a big, cave-like area with a dome-shaped forcefield in its center. Inside it was the now mortal Hex, leaning against the solid blue wall of energy.
After giving up all her powers and ending Malefor once and for all, the witch was transported to the prison and locked inside that highly secured room. The Skylanders didn’t want to take any risks since she got closer to defeating them than any other villain before.
During the seemingly endless silence, the only door leading inside the room opened and Nightfall entered. Hex tilted her head slightly to see the dreadwalker through her messy black hair before turning her sight to the floor again. Neither of them talked. Nightfall approached the forcefield and stared at Hex for a good while. “Do you need anything?” The Supercharger’s raspy voice echoed through the room.
“As if you care.” Hex responded dryly, not even bothering to give the Dark Skylander another look.
“You’re a mortal again, you have to drink and eat.” Nightfall didn’t say that out of sympathy, she made it clear that she was just following orders.
“I’m well aware of that.” Hex finally moved her head again before staring back at the ground. “And why did they send you? Do they think that I would talk to someone who’s just like me?”
“I’m nothing like you!” Nightfall hissed.
“You aren’t?” Hex asked with a hint of sarcasm. “You aren’t an outsider? You don’t distance yourself from everyone around you?” Hex remembered how Nightfall was one of the few Skylanders she communicated with from time to time, exactly because of their similarities. “I dare to say that you were closer to me than anyone else. Anyone but…”
“Enough of this, witch!” Nightfall interrupted Hex and had to fight the urge to storm off without fulfilling her duty. “What you did was more than enough to show me what kind of person you really are. And I think nothing of that kind!” Despite Nightfall’s aloof and sometimes antisocial behavior, she did have a strong sense of justice and knew right from wrong. “I sympathized with you before because I thought you were like me. Restrained and quiet, but also loyal. Now I know that you’re nothing but a hate-filled and wicked person!” Hex had nothing to say in response, perhaps because it was true. “I’ll send a meal your way, even though you’re not even deserving of that.”
The dreadwalker turned around and left without another word. Hex remained sitting on the floor, her knees bent and her arms on top of them. She didn’t know if she would ever see the blue skies or floating islands again, but what the witch did know is that she did what she considered to be right for her.
Meanwhile at the Academy hospital on top of one of the many beds was an impatient Wild Storm. A week has passed since he was taken out by a mysterious dart out of nowhere and Whirlwind demanded another checkup. The knight was tapping his armored fingers onto the steel bed frame, eager to finally get a result.
After another minute the hybrid entered the room. “So, Wild Storm.” The Air Skylander began whilst holding a wooden board with her paw. “There are still some traces of the venom which was injected into your body and nearly made you unconscious, however you endured it very well and don’t have anything to worry about anymore. I must say I’m impressed by how quickly and easily your body processed it.”
When the head of the hospital says something like that it must mean something. “Thank you, Whirlwind.” The Sensei turned to the ledge of the bed and stared at her with his glowing eyes inside his mask. “Do you know what exactly that was?”
“Well, it was a paralyzing toxin commonly found in nightshades and other nocturnal plants. I can’t tell you where it came from but maybe it would help to inspect whatever hit you.” Whirlwind didn’t find anything unusual on the knight when he was brought in, so she was curious about what happened. “Tidepool was the one to bring you here, maybe you should ask her.”
Wild Storm nodded before Whirlwind excused herself. He really should talk to Tidepool, not only about this but also everything else that’s been going on between the two. They haven’t properly spoken in months and when Wild Storm lost control Tidepool suddenly confessed that she loved him. Even though he was in his beast form and his memory was cloudy, that is the part he remembers most clearly.
Wild Storm soon left the hospital and went to look for Tidepool. He spotted Boom Bloom nearby and approached her to find out that the quickshot should be in her room. The Air Skylander followed the advice and entered the long hallway with several Skylanders’ rooms. Eventually, he reached Tidepool’s. Everyone had their own personal doorplate attached so they would know whose room it was. Tidepool’s was a gorgeous depiction of the ocean with sea creatures like squids and whales just like the ones that aid her in battle. He knocked on the door and after hearing a neutral “come in”, the knight slowly entered.
When Tidepool turned around and saw the familiar figure she froze in place. Wild Storm closed the door behind him before the two stood still and stared at each other. “Wild… what brings you here?” Tidepool already knew the answer, but she didn’t know what else to say.
“I wanted to talk to you.” Wild Storm began.
“I wanted to talk to you too, actually.” Tidepool responded with the same intention, which lead to another moment of tense silence. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”
“It definitely has.” Wild Storm never wanted to cut his friend off like that, but he saw no other way to keep the beast inside him away from her. “I wanted to ask if you know what happened that day when I… lost control.”
“Oh…” Tidepool expected to hear such a question, but she wasn’t quite prepared. She was nervous. She didn’t know if he remembered anything. If he remembered what she said. “You want to know why you ended up in the hospital I assume?”
The knight nodded and sat onto a wooden chair in the corner of the room.
“That’s actually what I wanted to talk to you about as well.” The Water Skylander turned around to grab something. She held it in her hand and moved it closer to Wild Storm for him to see. “You got hit by this dart and almost became unconscious. I guess because you were in your beast form you took it pretty well, but anyone else would have been down for hours.”
“Whirlwind told me that, but it sounds like you know more about this.” Wild Storm observed Tidepool as her expression was getting more nervous and her eyes focused on the small missile. “Do you know where the dart came from?”
“I have an idea, yes.” Tidepool turned around again and took a deep breath as her back was facing the Air Skylander. “That’s why I have to go away for a while.”
Wild Storm was caught off guard. “What?”
The Water Sensei turned back around holding her two squid guns, only that they were missing the grips, so they were just regular squids. “I know this is sudden and I can’t tell you what it is, but there’s something I must do.” She looked down at her marine pets in her arms as they turned their heads to look back at her. “I also want to ask you for a favor.”
Wild Storm didn’t understand what was going on, but he wanted to help his friend, nonetheless. “What is it?”
Tidpeool took a step forward and moved her squids towards the knight. “Can you look after them while I’m gone? I can’t take them with me, it’s too dangerous. I would ask someone else but… you’re the one I trust the most.”
Wild Storm stared at the two squids and then at Tidepool again. He never really knew those animals as anything other than weapons, but after giving it some thought he took them into his arms, despite the slimy feeling. “Of course, I would love to.” He observed the squids while they were gently moving across his arms before looking back at his friend who had a saddened but also certain look on her face. “But Tidepool, where are you going?”
“I really wish I could tell you, but I can’t.” The Sensei was hoping that this wouldn’t upset the knight, but his willingness to care for the squids gave her confidence. “Any word about this mission could put you and every other Skylander in danger, I can’t do that to you. You have to trust me.”
Wild Storm was looking deep into Tidepool’s eyes, he can’t remember the last time that has happened. He knew her well, despite their recent hardship, and he knew that she could take care of herself. “I trust you.” Tidpeool’s mouth formed a smile and she pet her squids goodbye. “Just promise me that you’ll be careful.”
“Always.” Tidepool responded and her eyes met those of Wild Storm again. “I don’t know when I can come back, it might take months, even a year, but you can’t tell anyone about this. If someone asks just tell them that I’m on a longer journey and I will be back later, hopefully no one will notice.”
Wild Storm nodded and had to twist his hands to prevent the squids from falling down. “And what about these two? Is there anything I have to know?”
“Don’t worry, they can take care of themselves. I just want you to keep an eye on them, so they don’t get into trouble.” The Water Skylander gave her pets a stern look before they nodded to assure her that they’ll behave.
“If they’re as tough as their owner then I have nothing to worry about.” The Senseis smiled before another wave of awkward silence washed over them. Wild Storm thought if there was anything else he had to say. Ultimately, only one thing came to his mind. “I’ll miss you Tide.”
Tidepool looked at Wild Storm and felt her heart beating inside her chest. A part of her just wanted to hug him and confess her feelings all over again. Her love towards him hasn’t changed, even if he still didn’t know it. However, she had to hide it again because she knew that this was more important than that. “I’ll miss you too.”
After those words the friends hugged each other one last time before Tidepool stepped out of the room, threw Wild Storm one more look, and closed the door, not knowing when she would come back. The knight stayed in her room and sat on the bed with the squids clinging onto his arms. “Guess it’s just you and me now.” This was not what Wild Storm expected when he came here, but he could tell that whatever Tidepool had to do was important. He hoped that they could finally spend time together again so he could confess that he loved her too. But he would have to wait, just like Tidepool did.
The next day was an exciting one for the Skylanders. Eon’s niece Aurora was gone for several months on a mission to look for remaining portals connected to Earth, and she has finally returned. An entire crowd of Skylanders was eagerly waiting at the port until her airship arrived. When Aurora opened the door and stepped outside, she was greeted by loud cheering and clapping. With a smile the Sensei got off the ship and rejoined all her friends and allies. Even though she had many things to share, there was one person she wanted to talk to before anyone else.
Master Eon was sitting inside his office, busy with some overdue paperwork. Suddenly someone knocked on the door. “Enter.” The spirit answered bleakly, unaware of who just entered the room.
When Eon lifted his head, he was at a loss for words. Even though he was expecting his niece to come back home any day now, he was still shocked to finally see her again. “Hey uncle.”
“Aurora!” The relatives were about to go in for a hug, but then stopped themselves. “It’s… wonderful to see you again.” They awkwardly stood in front of each other since they were unable to hug due to Eon’s ghostly state.
“It’s good to see you too!” Aurora sighed while looking at the ghost of her uncle. It’s been years since the attack that destroyed his body and she missed hugging him and feeling some kind of physical contact to her last family member, but she was eternally grateful that he was still there in the first place. “There are so many things I have to tell you!”
“Then do tell!” Eon said with glee as he magically pulled out the chair in front of his desk for Aurora to sit on.
After the swashbuckler told Eon all about her journey and the portals she’s discovered, he was impressed to hear that there are in fact still some active portals which could potentially transport the Skylanders back to Earth. Of course, there was no need for that after the Skylanders were freed from their imprisonment on the foreign planet and managed to return to Skylands for good.
“It was amazing uncle, I have never even seen some of the places I went to!” Something not many Skylanders knew was that Aurora has spent many years lost in another realm. She only managed to escape alongside the other Light and Dark Skylanders after the destruction of Cloudcracker Prison which released them from their respective realms. “I only remember all those books and drawings that we used to have years ago, but I never thought I’d see those places for myself! And how much they’ve changed!” The Sensei was as excited as a child.
“I’m glad that you had the opportunity to visit them.” Eon was the happiest he’s been in a long time. He was desperately looking for his niece after her disappearance, many years of hopeless searching. When she then finally returned, he was already a spirit and felt like he could never have the same bond with her again, but they tried making the best of it. However, Eon’s smile faded into a frown as he had some bad news to share. “There’s something you need to know.”
Aurora was curious. “What is it?” Before Eon could answer, the Light Skylander guessed it herself. “Oh, you mean what happened with Hex? The entire Skylands have heard about it! I can’t believe she would do something like that-”
“There was something else.” Eon hated to interrupt his niece and tell her something even worse, but she had to know. “During Hex’ ambush when some Skylanders were corrupted, Kaos managed to escape.”
Aurora went silent. Her family had a long and complicated history with that of Kaos’ and his escape could only mean trouble. “Well, then we’ll just take him down like we always do. Right?”
“It’s not only him this time.” Now came the part Eon feared the most. In the last few days, he has felt unsettled, a familiar feeling. He tried to figure out what it was and used his powers to look for a connection until he finally knew. “Kaossandra is free as well.”
This time Aurora was not only quiet, but visibly shocked, almost afraid. “Ka- Kaossandra?” The Sensei’s mind was rushing as she recalled all the stories she had heard about the dark Portal Mistress. “But she’s been trapped in that mirror for years, how…”
“I don’t know, but I can sense that she broke out of it. Her aura has no equal.” Eon has a past with Kaossandra, but he preferred to not talk about it, even with his niece. “I’m not sure what her and Kaos are up to, but with everything that’s happened recently I have reason to believe that we need to brace ourselves for the worst.”
Aurora slowly nodded, still lost in thoughts. “I understand.” She slowly raised herself up from the chair and made her way to the door, completely absent-minded. “I will get back to training as soon as I can and… I will watch out.”
As she closed the door behind her, Aurora reached into the collar of her armor with Eon’s face engraved on it. She pulled out a necklace with a small golden key attached to it. She looked at it for a few moments and sighed before hiding it inside her armor again and walking along.
Eon remained in his office for the rest of the day and couldn’t help but worry. He thought about the past year and everything that’s happened. The betrayal of the reformed villains and Snap Shot, Malefor’s return, Hex’ curse. It almost made Eon doubt the trust he has in his loyal Skylanders. All those events reminded him so much of the past, where he was betrayed by Kaossandra as well.
The day came to an end and the Academy progressively shut down. After Aurora’s return and all the exciting news everyone was tired and ready for bed. Tuff Luck had just finished her patrol at Cloudcracker Prison and was heading to the Life Realm where she would enjoy the vast and untouched nature.
As the Life Trap Master was strolling through the Academy, she heard something nearby. There was no one else there besides two guards at the main entrance, but she was too far away to be hearing them. There it was again. The feline swiftly summoned her Traptanium warblades and listened carefully. She heard something behind her and turned around whilst swinging her blades, but she didn’t strike anything. Before she could move another inch, a cloaked figure appeared right in front of her. The Trap Master furiously looked into its face and what she saw terrified her. The figure wore a gruesome mask with glowing blue eyes which stared right into the Trap Master’s soul. Before she could attack the intruder, Tuff Luck’s jade green eyes were suddenly filled with a light blue fog. The Life Skylander stood there like a statue, she couldn’t move and her weapons fell to the ground. The figure in front of her calmly walked away and turned into thin air, disappearing from the Academy.
Tuff Luck found herself on a grassy field. The last thing she remembered was seeing that strange figure at the Academy, but now she was on this small, isolated island surrounded by a pitch-black sky. Even though there was no source of light to be found, she could see herself and the grass underneath her as clear as day. When she looked further a forest appeared right in front of her, but instead of the usual joy she experienced seeing a forest, she gasped in horror. The trees and plants were slowly decaying and falling apart, as if a plague was passing right through them. Tuff Luck was terrified as the decaying forest began to spread until she was surrounded by it. This was her biggest fear, for all the nature in Skylands to die off. The feline ran away but there was no end to the forest, she just kept on screaming and running in agony. While she was experiencing all that in her head, Tuff Luck’s body was standing still at the Academy, her foggy blue eyes staring into the distance. It was nothing but a shell, while Tuff Luck’s mind was hopelessly lost.

Are there any other indigenous people in X-men? Like islanders?
So here’s a list of every Indigenous mutant in Marvel Comics (Earth 616) that I know of. Unfortunately, some are just straight up offensive. But there are a number of underappreciated gems!
Dani Moonstar AKA Mirage (Obviously gotta start with my fave)
Cheyenne
Illusory powers (originally her powers were creating illusions of peoples’ fears. Overtime her illusions eventually expanded to pretty much anything she wants. After she gets fried by the High Evolutionary’s machinery, her illusions could become solid objects, but she could only have one at a time. And during her time undercover with the MLF she developed the ability to channel her illusions into psonic arrows that stun people, trapping them in their nightmares. This is what she mostly uses, currently. (TBH I’d really like to see writers remember her abilities have far more uses than just that... Like, remember that time she recreated Jimmy’s whole damn farm and family so he could ‘see’ them again?)
Dani is also a valkyrie with the ability to sense death
Original member of the New Mutants
Honestly the best character on this list IMO. I could ramble about how awesome Dani is for days...
Forge
Cheyenne
Superhuman mechanical ingenuity/genius (kind of a complicated power, but basically his mutation is that he can understand machines and create anything he can imagine. Like a mutant Tony Stark except better in every way, fight me.)
Back in the day he also dabbled in sorcery but turned out uh Not Good and he hasn’t since
He’s been a member of a bunch of different X-Men teams and none of them have ever given him the respect he deserves
I like Forge a lot TBH, especially after the sorcery thing was dropped and forgotten
A shame we will probably never get to know his real name
Lucas Bishop AKA Bishop
Indigenous Australian (Unknown Nation)
Energy absorption and redirection, subsequently super durability (if you blast him he will just blast you back)
Bishop isn’t technically from 616, being born in a dark future, but has existed in the main universe for as long as he’s been around. He’s been a team member in Uncanny X-Men and X-Treme X-Men but then went through a period as an enemy, mostly cause he has a That’s So Raven syndrome where he thinks he's shaping the future for the better and fucks things up. Can’t say I’m a fan in the way he was used as an inconvenience for Cable, but otherwise you can count on Bishop for being pretty damn cool.
Just a warning for anyone unfamiliar with him but wants to read up on him: His background may be triggering. The tattoo over his eye isn’t a choice, but a brand he received when put into the mutant concentration camp where he was born in.
Shard Bishop AKA Shard
Indigenous Australian (Unknown Nation)
Energy blasts from light
Shard is Bishop’s younger sister, and therefore also not technically from 616. She’s also not nearly as prominent a character, but was member of X-Factor for a while.
Honestly, Shard was never actually given a chance to do anything and her relationship with Fitzroy (green haired, slimy time travelling serial killer) is BS.
James Proudstar AKA Warpath
Apache
Super strength, speed, senses, stamina, reflexes, durability, healing, and flight (everyone forgets the flight)
Also he’s over 7 feet tall which is its own superpower
John Proudstar’s younger brother
Sadly, Jimmy chronically suffers from writers not having a sweet clue what to do with him or how to write him. Swear to god, no one should be allowed to touch him before reading X-Force vol 1 after Liefeld left. James appearing to be scary to people who don’t know him and actually being a sweetheart is the whole deal with his character. He is not a violent raging edgelord! Everyone at Marvel just collectively forgot he rejected the name Warpath after starting to come to terms with the death of his family, too.
Anyway, I love James with pure spite and venom and would love to fistfight all the writers who’ve done him dirty over the years...
John Proudstar AKA Thunderbird (speaking of getting done dirty)
Apache
Super strength, speed, senses, stamina, reflexes and durability
James Proudstar’s older brother
This poor bastard was created to die for shock value, and has been one of the few X-Men for which death has not been a revolving door. For the brief time he was around, he was portrayed as nothing but a jerk, too. It’s only in brief flashbacks that he’s ever been given more character. Also that one Chaos World mini.
Gloria Muñoz AKA Risque
Seminole
Can make objects implode (think the opposite of Gambit)
Risque was an anti-hero/anti-villain associated with the original X-Factor, and formerly James’ GF. She was a complicated character and deserved a redemption arc. That’s a hill I’m gonna die on.
John Greycrow AKA... I don’t even wanna say it
Unknown Nation
Technology manipulation (can like, turn a gun into a different gun for example), super healing
Scalphunter. His name is fucking scalphunter. And just like the other Indigenous Marauder member on this list, he’s been nothing but a lingering racist caricature. He is currently a protagonist in the running Hellions series and I honestly do not know what miracle Zeb Wells thinks he can pull to reinvent this character, but I guess we’ll just have to see.
Kodiak Noatak AKA Harpoon
Inuit
Can supercharge his harpoon with energy
That’s right, the Marauders don’t have just one, but two racist as fuck caricatures! He also... for some reason... speaks... like this a lot... I sure... wonder why...
Gateway
Indigenous Australian (Unknown Nation)
Teleportation portal creation
Oh look, it’s the X-Men’s bus ticket. Seriously, Gateway is nothing but a silent teleporter for the X-Men to travel around by, and another racist caricature. However, there is one good thing to come out of Gateway’s existence, and that’s that without him, we may never have gotten...
Eden Fesi AKA Manifold
Indigenous Australian (Unknown Nation)
Teleportation portal creation (and some interesting ways of using it too)
I swear Hickman must have looked back at Gatway and thought, you know what, let’s try that again except not offensive. Eden is pretty cool, and one of the three reasons I read Avengers vol 5 (the other two being Bobby and Sam). It’s a shame he’s never gotten the chance to interact with the X-Men, what with being a mutant and all. I would love to see him on Krakoa. Given that Hickman is at the helm and Eden is a Hickman character, I don’t think it’s too far-fetched of a hope?
Yeah, that’s all I can think of, unfortunately. Really makes you wish there were more, huh.
BONUS:
Julio Richter AKA Rictor
Listen. I will fight to my last dying breath to defend what I have always seen as the obvious; Julio was created with the intention of him being an Indigenous Mexican boy. I legit have a half-done powerpoint presentation about it that I never finished upon realizing no one would take me seriously when I sound like this mapping out all the evidence -

Gale’s Top 10 Best episodes of ML
This list is my personal opinion, and I don’t expect everyone to agree with all my picks (some are obviously Amazing, and some that may have been amazing to you might not be as great to me. and the reverse. Let me know your personal top 10 best)
10. Loveater
Tumblr media
I know this is a controversial pick for number 10. Truth is, this episode was really damn good in terms of setting things up. (Spoilers for the season 3 finale)
The tension with how Marinette was dealing with her feelings,
The hilarity of the Get along Cloak Gabriel made.
The Beautiful friendship dynamic of Kagami, Adrien, and Marinette.
The episode was steeped in all sorts of tension and has one of the most dramatic cliffhangers out of any of the finale’s
We don't know whats gonna happen?
The akuma was... okay. The purpose of the akuma was to set up the next step of the plan, and in that regard, it succeeded.
Marinette had an emotional breakdown. It hurt to see, but it was so well done that you could FEEL the emotions in each character.
This episode had a lot of emotions riding on it and It gave SO MUCH build up. I would say if Miracle Queen didn't DROP the ball so much, this might be higher.
9. Startrain:
Tumblr media
Now we get to the obviously good episode and My personal favorite new hero reveal episodes. Startrain.
It has the makings of a great episode. Marinette being responsible and being rewarded for it. Adrien being disobedient to his father and being adorable.
That sweet sweet Adrinette fluff that we all want.
Lila getting stopped.
And of course we learn some of Hawkmoth’s limitations (and how little he cares about his son.)
Max gets the horse miraculous and HE OWNS THAT TRANSFORMATION. My personal favorite new transformation sequences.
Max also being MVP
The akuma while not a direct fight, changed things up by having dangerous cars that they had to figure out.
I also love that they crashed into BigBen.
A solid episode and one that really shined in Season 3.
8. Heroes Day Parts 1 and 2
Tumblr media
The season 2 two part finale didn't disappoint. We had hero team ups. A supercharged Hawkmoth, Nathalie stepping into the fray as Mayura
We had good ladynoir banter.
Adorable Adrinette moments that really help bring the moment for a climactic clash that seemed to bring hope on what season 3 may bring.
This episode was a breath of fresh air as it actually had Hawkmoth f***ing Planning in advance.
It was actually a pretty decent plan. I gotta give the guy props.
I liked all of the action, and I did find some of the bits funny.
Chat noir and Chloé’s interaction was funny as heck.
7. Volpina
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the last episode of season 1. (at least chronologically)
It introduced Lila Rossi, the hype behind what or who she was did make things interesting.
A lying exchange student that Marinette calls out on her bs.
The dominos of Gabriel being Hawkmoth were all set up (and this was when people were still speculating)
Volpina gave an amazing akuma performance,
We had a good hero mess up with consequences (I say this as it is FEW and far between) Because we understand Marinette’s reasoning for doing it and it was a selfish action but doesn't ruin things. marinette does apologize but damage already done. (plus Lila is a b****)
We also get one step closer to who FU is. (Which in season 1 was huge)
It is still a solid episode and one of the best in season 1.
6. Stormy Weather
Tumblr media
Personally the best animated episode on this list.
The animators really put there all into getting this one right.
The first episode to air and it started on a strong note.
The plot sets the pace for how a standard episode goes.
It has solid action.
The akuma is powerful, funny and has a fun battle.
Ladybug and chat noir have great banter in this.
Of course we get introduced to our heroes and I think this is the episode EVERYONE getting into the show should start with.
It is a perfect storm of good action, comedy and super hero goodness.
5. Darkowl
Tumblr media
My favorite episode of season 2.
This was such a fun episode.
The principal of the school went from a joke to a legit threat that ALMOST WON!
The reason for akumatization was brutal and completely understandable.
Ladybug and chat noir were honestly trying to help the poor guy who wanted to be a hero.
This was also the moment tikki and Plagg found out about the OTHER chosen, which Plagg’s reaction says it all.
The episode shows how much they trust each other and I really love how it plays out.
Dark owl is the best Akuma of season 2 don't @ me.
4. Oblivio
Tumblr media
Don't you f***ing judge me
You all know why this is on the list.
Okay, IGNORING THE BEAUTIFUL PERFECT WONDERFUL LADYNOIR KISS.
This episode was really well written.
The heroes lost their memories, their is a faceless monster after them which they need to stay one step ahead of or its curtains for them.
Marinette and Adrien get a second first meeting and really, this episode shows how perfect they are for each other.
If they both could only just... GRAH!!!
The last 3 minutes does come off as a slap to the face, since neither of them remember it. (I would talk about the salt from the fandom that resulted from this, but considering how bile-inducing it is to me, I will simply skip past it.)
It is a good episode, it has heart, comedy, and one I will never forget.
3. Evilustrator
Tumblr media
My favorite akuma Evillustrator.
I LOVED this episode and for the longest time I would consider it my favorite.
Nathanael was such a delight, and his akuma was the first to actually disobey hawkmoth at first.
Plus, he is the first akuma to confess to Marinette. (Silencer was second)
And of course the BIRTH of the Marichat side of the fandom.
We can't forget that cute interaction.
It is a little indulgent of me to love this one. Nathanael deserved better.
But hey, he has a BF now.
So kudos. I suppose.
2. Chat Blanc
Tumblr media
My all time favorite season 3 episode.
It has all of the damn fluff for adrinette
for ladynoir
even some Marichat.
It scratches the itch that Oblivio slightly touched.
It was cute but then... IT WAS HORRIFYING.
Time travel, alternative futures where s*** is destroyed.
Chat blanc is without a doubt the scariest akuma in terms of power.
The angst in this episode was spectacular.
This also gave us an Adrinette kiss, sweet wonderful goodness.
also Hair down Marinette.
Ladybug calling chat noir/Adrien “Her prince”
The fight with Chat blanc.
Hawkmoth just whipping out Adrien’s dead mother before smacking that boy like a baseball bat.
THE MOON GETS DESTROYED.
This episode throws a lot at you.
It is amazing, tragic and beautiful. This should have been the season 3 finale.
I stand by this statement.
1. Origins Parts 1 and 2
Tumblr media
There was no way I could not have this as number 1.
I can talk about how well done the plot was.
The good reveal of characters.
Fu’s status as Guardian revealed.
Gabriel pretty much confirmed as HM.
Adrien and Marinette’s first meeting
Chat noir and Ladybug’s first meeting.
But no.
The Umbrella scene.
The moment we all knew this show was something special.
That theme that played as they talked.
We were dazzled just like Marinette.
Lightning struck and that was the moment I fell in love with the show.
It was the moment I knew Adrien and Marinette. This relationship was something special.
If you haven't watched it, I recommend watching origins. It is a wonderful beginning and I hope the ending will be just as beautiful

Inferno - Re-Review #49
Is this it’s first TV appearance? Yes, it is. The episode that never aired (in the UK) - even in the Series 2 re-runs, due to the Grenfell Tower fire. Now, it is finally being given its long awaited slot- Oh, no, hold fire.
We still can’t (or it’s been decided not to) air ‘Inferno’ in the UK because of the case being in court, being held off by the current situation. I do completely understand that - I’m not unsympathetic in anyway, but - for us fans - this is a gem of an episode that is being swept under the carpet, which is why I’m reviewing it in this series anyway, because it really does deserve it’s place in the lineup in my opinion. (And I’m a little OCD and on’t want it out of order too much so I’m doing it now not later. If they air it after ‘The Long Reach’ I’ll be annoyed)!
Anyhow, this is the first of two reviews for today and we get to start with a lovely tall tower. Now, when has that ever been a good idea? This episode bears similarities to ‘Towering Inferno’ and ‘City of Fire’ (TOS).
Tumblr media
This is another one of our ‘Joker’s’ Club - Current members;
Light-fingered Fred
Ms Baker
Langstrom Fischler
Francois Lemaire
Mr Yost
Professor Harold
Feel free to suggest others and I will add them to the Hall of Shame. (Ned is saved because he’s actually nice and he has the best intentions, he just can’t achieve them. I like Ned okay? He doesn’t deserve to be in this club).
Today anyhow, this show of stupidity is all in the interest of breaking a record - because one man can’t handle the fact that someone built a building taller than his. That would be Mr Yost - I think his place in the above hall is aptly given.
“This is the Crystal Spire! The World’s first StarScraper. I designed it to be the world’s tallest structure, then they built a bigger one in Dubai. Tonight, ’m going to raise the entire building by seven record shattering metres. Trust me, the lifting process is 100% safe.”
Do you know what else they said that about? Moving The Empire State Building in TOS’ ‘Terror In New York City’. We all know how that one ended.
Tumblr media
It did look pretty for a moment there, before you know, all the fires burst out and everything.
“Your job is to make sure those electrojacks hold. If they fail, fire will be the lest of our problems.”
Yeah... we’d have another Empire State incident on our hands and no one wants that. Big Ben’s probably going to fall into the Thames one day as it already is, we don’t need the ‘grand’ Crystal Spire joining it.
“Please, please, save my building!”
Idiot.
“I think you mean save those people!”
I like her already. She can stay.
Tumblr media
Cue acting faces;
Put on your best shocked and worried expressions!
I think this lot nailed it.
Tumblr media
Bravely going where no firefighters have gone before! Putting out fires to save lives, and accidentally getting trapped beneath about eight tonnes of rubble. Not so hooray..
I wonder if Conrad’s brother is one of these firefighters? That would have been a nice touch. Slough isn’t London, but isn’t too far away. It’s not outside the realms of possibility.
“We can’t do this alone. International Rescue, come in. It’s McCready. That offer still good?”
“Absolutely Chief. We’re on our way.”
Tumblr media
Oh the annoying title cards are back interrupting the flow. Someone obviously ‘forgot’ to do an extra bit of animating... again.
Nice little throwback to ‘Move and You’re Dead’ here. Not that Alan’s won anything at this point.
“Make me look cool.”
“We haven’t got all day.”
“Oh, and really heroic.”
“Yeah, sure.”
“And make sure you show how totally good looking I am.”
I feel like this is what Virgil does when he starts painting - he just half listen and answers quickly and shortly.
Tumblr media
Alan is such a poser. Has he ever played Musical Statues do you think? The point is staying still. So I think not. In fairness though, he probably never had a normal styled birthday party.
Tumblr media
“Erherm... International Rescue, we have a situation. Virgil, Alan, we need you both in Thunderbird Two.”
“Alan, you can move now!”
John honestly looks very confused and amused.
Tumblr media
Cue everyone gasping over the arrival of Thunderbird Two. It is a pretty cool sigyht.
“That is one tall tower.”
“Crystal Spire. One thousand,one hundred and twenty five metres, ground to tip.It’s supposed to be some sort of architectural masterpiece.”
“It probably looks a lot better when it’s not on fire. Chief McCready, this International Rescue.”
“Meet me up on the 47th floor and be prepare for some heavy lifting.”
“I was made for heavy lifting.”
Boasting. He does kind of have rights though. He was made for heavy lifting.
Tumblr media
“No way in. But as dad always said. If you can’t find a door...”
“...Make one!”
Tumblr media
Cue badass leap to the other side.
Tumblr media
Cue near dangerous, deadly fall to the possible other side.
Tumblr media
This episode has it all and we’re halfway there!
“How’s it looking?”
“Remember that time you supercharged the barbecue?”
“Yeessh..”
“Bad?”
“My eyebrows have only just grown back.”
I should have guessed Virgil would have music on board, but really that sounded like something Gordon and Alan would listen to and it definitely made me life.
“Ooops, sorry, wrong playlist!”
Tumblr media
Cue secondary fire exploding through the building.
“Thunderbird Two, you okay up there?”
“Yeah. (Nothing a respray won’t fix).”
Goodness Alan, you are never going to be allowed to pilot Two again.
Speaking of pilots, are you okay there, Virgil, you know, just holding that lift above your head to stop it crushing you?
Tumblr media
“I’m sure Brains won’t mind too much.”
I think that means Brains is going to go crazy. Wait until he sees Thunderbird Two. Actually correction, wait until Virgil sees Thunderbird Two!
And here we have another of the best ever entrances to a rescue;
“We’re here to rescue you!”
“Uh, that’s usually my line.”
“Sorry.”
Still doesn’t top Scott and Ned though - in my opinion.
“What’s the evacuation plan?”
“Good question. Thunderbird Two, what’s the evacuation plan?”
“Well Thunderbird Two can’t get close enough. And we can’t really risk breaking the glass with so many people inside. Suppose a really big trampoline’s out the question?”
Yes, Alan, it is! Seriously, have you seen how much the prices have risen since Lockdown? I’m not forking out for one. I mean, I don’t really need or want one, I was just saying.
Tumblr media
Look at that face. This episode was literally just like Expressions of Virgil central.
“Everyone’s looking at me, Alan.”
“I don’t know, we could always... take off the top?”
“Take off the top of the building?!”
“Brilliant idea! Let’s do it.”
“Ok Alan, we’ll give it a try.”
Tumblr media
“Ditch the fire fighting module and come back for us.”
And show the camera how badly you’ve scratched up Virgil’s Thunderbird. Yeah, he’s gonna’ go bonkers.
Tumblr media
“How’s the view?”
“Breathtaking.”
Quite literally if you aren’t careful, Virgil.
We know logically they’ll catch each other, but these shots still get me. They’re pretty cool.
“Thanks Tracy.”
“Don’t mention it. We’re a team remember?”
Tumblr media
Now Virgil’s doing a Gordon, and doing a George of the Jungle impression!
“Ah! What did you do? What did you do to my Crystal Spire!”
Don’t you mean ‘what did you do?’ After all, it was Mr Yost who moved it, and lit it up, and set it on fire...
“Second tallest..?”
That man is obsessed. Let’s move on. He annoys me (although not as much as Fischler, it must be said).
“If you ever feel like a break from flying, there’s always a spot for you on my team.”
“Well, I do have some vacation time coming- Alan! What did you do to my ship?”
“Uh, it’s not as bad as it looks! All it needs is a spot of paint.”
Tumblr media
”Paint: that reminds me... Come on, Alan, we’ve gotta get back and finish your portrait.”
“Just promise you won’t make me look too short! Or hairy! Or give me goofy teeth!”
You’re giving him ideas, Alan.
“Virgil? Virge? Oh man!”
Yeah, already said way too much, and Virgil ignoring you is probably not boding well.
And there’s just about time for the finished painting (as the Grand MAX left it) to end this Review.
Tumblr media
P.S. Virgil definitely has more artistic talent than MAX, sorry MAX! Although in fairness to him, I’m not quite sure that’s the result he was aiming for.

Hi, nice to meet you
Tumblr media
I AM BACK! I am sorry that it took a while for me to get back to writing. I’ve been struggling a bit at home and it’s been tough. But, I’ve been trying to write, and that kind of helped me get through some rough patches.
THANK YOU FOR BEING SO PATIENT AND KIND. You guys are the best. As promised, I’ve been taking prompts and trying to write out some of your ideas. I enjoyed writing this prompt and I hope you like this just as much as I enjoyed writing this.
~~~
This was the last time the Titans trusted Beast Boy (Changeling?) with the responsibility of coordination a mission, Raven thought darkly.
He had one fucking job. She frowned and her glowing hand twitched as she healed Red Robin’s shoulder which she moments ago nearly accidentally blew off – it was one mangled hot mess.The masked man groaned, head in her lap, and his hand twitched as the muscle slowly restored in his shoulder.
Purple eyes cast a worried glance at the barely awake hero while keeping high alert as the noise of distant gunfire ripped through the air. She cast a warry glance at the bolted laboratory doors, reinforced by a couple of tables, chairs, and her magic. Hopefully Dr. Light would not decide to blast his way through the doors just yet. If he did, she might just blow his fucking head off.
Nightwing had sent her to Gotham City to follow Dr. Light’s and his recent crime spree in the city. He somehow had gotten hold of kryptonium and supercharged his powers. Dick had placed Gar in charge of coordination and logistics, ensuring that local law enforcement (primarily Batman) were informed of their mission.
Placing Beast Boy in charge of mission coordination was probably their first mistake. Raven was going to kill Dick, and Gar, once she got back to Jump for all the trouble.
But, Dick might just kill her if his brother dies because of blood loss. If that happened, Raven was sure she’d haunt Gar forever and possess him to turn into a fucking cat and jump off Titan Tower nine times.
Their second mistake was probably Raven not checking in with Batman once she arrived. But she assumed the coordination work was done – on certain degree, she trusted Beast Boy’s work. Which, was also her third mistake.
Though, there was little she could have done anyway. Considering the moment she arrived in Gotham shit hit the fan and Dr. Light decided to infiltrate Star Labs and terrorize staff, and steal kryptonite and whatever supercharged chemicals that there we stored in the West Gotham facility.
Just as she released a ball of black energy at Dr. Light as he tried to send a charged strike of lighting into the laboratory that could have killed all personnel in the room, a black and red mass appeared out of nowhere vaulting into her line of fire.
From there everything just went downhill.
Everything was a blur from there. Red Robin got hit squarely in the shoulder, her strike ripping through flesh. She acted quickly and used her soul self to grab is injured body towards her and used her other hand to send a blast towards Dr. Light. Somehow, in the heat of the moment, she was able to save all 10 personnel in the laboratory and phase Dr. Light a couple of floors up the building. She deserved a promotion, really.
She and Red Robin had huddled behind an upturned lab desk and she had quickly set to work. She did not want Dick up her ass for accidentally killing his brother.
Raven watched as Red Robin regained movement in his left shoulder as his hand twitched. She mentally sighed in relief and poured a last ounce of energy in restoring all the nerves in his shoulder. She felt lightheaded already from all the exertion.
“Ugh,”
She watched as Red Robin blinked and groaned. His black cowl painfully dug into her thighs which were covered in his blood. She could feel his discomfort and pain push into her. As the last bits of his shoulder were restored, she felt the pain lift and she dropped her hand.
“You pack a punch,” she heard him mumble in amusement into her thigh.
“I can destroy a dimension easily.”
Raven blinked through the sweat that had accumulated on her face and she was surprised at how lightly Red Robin had taken the whole situation. She sighed loudly and watched as he pulled himself out of her lap and they both collapsed against the upturned tables around them. Raven shakily ran a hand through her hair, and grimaced as Red Robin’s blood smeared her hair in the process. Fuck her life.
“Sorry about that,” Raven whispered, taking deep breathes and watching Red Robin carefully. She could feel that he was no longer in pain but rather on high alert, his alarmed emotions pressing against her own forcefully.
“Warn me next time,” Red Robin grumbled, a small frown and amused smile playing on his lips. He tested his shoulder and found nothing wrong with him. “Well, at least you healed some of the other issues I’ve been having with this shoulder. Good as new,”
Raven grimaced and felt faint. “I’m going to fucking kill Beast Boy,”
Red Robin grinned. He stuck out his hand. “Red Robin.”
Raven raised an eyebrow. She took his hand and shook it. “Raven.”
“Nice to meet you.” The corner of his lips quirked. “I wish circumstances would have been different.”
Raven dropped her hand into her bloody lap. “Beast Boy was in charge of coordinating the mission. He should have coordinated with you and Batman.” She grimaced. “Dick made the call.”
Low rumbling ripped through the building. They both looked up and frowned. Looking at each other, they slowly moved to stand. Raven stumbled as a dizzy spell hit her after using so much energy to health Red Robin. His hand reached out and steadied her.
“You okay?”
“You just take the lead. It took too much energy to heal your shoulder.”
Red Robin nodded. He cast a quick glance at the sealed laboratory door before sending her a wry smile. “Really nice to meet you though. Dick talks a lot about you and the team. Not really the best circumstance for our first meeting, though, honestly.”
Raven let out a little huff of air. “The feeling is mutual.”
Red Robin and Raven eventually caught Dr. Light had him locked up in Arkham. Once Raven got back home to the Tower, suffice to say Beast Boy was never placed to handle mission coordination work again.
~~~
The second time Raven bumped into Red Robin was, again, purely by accident. Thankfully, no limbs were blown off this time.
“I didn’t take you for a children’s literature kind of girl, Rachel”
Raven looked up from her crouched position by the bookshelf and stared up at the longhaired man leaning against a brightly colored bookshelf filled with nursery rhymes books. She raised an eyebrow, trying to remember who the man was and read his aura quickly. He looked amused and annoyingly handsome in a black business suit. Did all the Wayne children have to look this good?
“Tim,” Raven held a copy of Green Eggs and Ham in her hand. Of course Tim Drake knew who she was – knowing him, he had probably read and memorized all their files.
Tim smiled as she recognized him and gave a little wave with his hand in acknowledgement. While she knew who he was, it was a bit strange to Raven to see Red Robin out of his, well, Red Robin costume. She rarely saw superheroes, outside of the Titans and Batman, in their real identities. Seeing Red Robin, Tim Drake, in a business suit in front of her was a bit odd.
“Just picking up a book for Teether,” she said, pushing herself up into a standing position. Melvin, Timmy, and Teether were in town. She eyed him expectantly. “What brings you to Jump?”
Tim shrugged and smoothly stuffed his hands into his black pants. “Bruce had me check on one of our offices here in the city.”
“Explains the suit,” Raven sent him a blank side glance and began walking out of the Children’s Section. “But doesn’t explain why you’re in this bookstore?”
Tim followed her to the cash register. “I saw you walk into the store just as I stepped out of the office. Jump’s Wayne Enterprises office is just across the street,” he said, pointing at the huge building they could see through the small window by the cash register.
“Oh,” Raven blinked, feeling just a little ashamed at her lack of situational awareness. Ignoring Tim momentarily, she turned to the store owner and payed for the little book. She silently wondered why he had followed her into the store. Didn’t he have better things to do than hover next to her? Like, maybe bother his brother or something?
Raven tucked her new purchase under her arm and watched Tim fiddle with a few Titans pencils that were on display by the counter. Catching his attention, he grinned and showed her a badly drawn Raven replica printed on the small pencil. She frowned and shook her head. “No.”
Tim chuckled and dropped the pencil back into the display case. He followed Raven out of the store. “Where is a good place to grab coffee here?”
Raven was just about to walk home and she eyed Tim curiously. “Aren’t you rich enough to own a phone and Google “Best coffee in Jump City?” She noted a few people had stopped across the street of them and where openly gawking at Tim – where all the Wayne kids this popular?
Tim snorted. “True,” he fished out his phone from his pocket. After a few quick taps and briefly glancing at a mildly amused Raven, a couple of cafés came up from his search. “Tightrope?”
Raven titled her head a just a little bit. “It’s a good place, they source really good beans.” She paused and looked at her phone to check the time. “It gets a bit crowded at this hour though.”
She adjusted the book under her arm and pointed in the opposite direction of the Titan’s Tower. “There’s a small café just down the road. The wife of the owner of this bookstore runs it. They make pretty good coffee and have a good tea selection. They’re cheesecakes are great too.”
Tim smiled and stuffed his phone into his pocket. “See? Way better info than a Google search.”
Raven rolled her eyes. “Well,” she began. “It was nice seeing you but I need to go home and make sure that Garfield has not burned down the tower,”
Tim looked strangely confused. “You don’t want to join me for coffee?”
She sent him a surprised look. “Coffee?”
Tim scratched his head sheepishly. “Yeah. Sorry, I thought that was clear.”
“You asked for directions.” She deadpanned. She stared at the amused Tim, momentarily studying his aura and taking in the gentle friendly push of emotions from him. Well, she figured it would be okay to spend some time with Red Robin – at least he wasn’t covered in blood this time. And she’d be away from Garfield for just a few more hours.
“Fine.”
Tim smiled. “Great, let’s go.”
“How’s the shoulder?” Raven asked while they were walking down the street.
“It’s the best. Thanks again, really.” Tim demonstrated by rotating his shoulder. Raven briefly noticed his bicep contract from the movement. She blinked. Oh.
“I blew off your shoulder,” Raven said, sending him a wry look. “Let’s not do that again.”
They stopped by the entrance of the small café. From the shop’s window, it was pretty empty just as Raven predicted. Tim opened the door for them. “Well, at least I know you’re around to fix my shoulder in case that happens again.”
~~~
Raven was working in the briefing room that evening. She had to re-sort most of the files Gar had sorted a week ago. He did a shit job at sorting old case files. It was impossible for them to find anything in this mess. She faintly wondered why they even considered giving Gar the job. Had they not learned at all?
“You’re not Dick.”
Raven looked up from her laptop and stared at the large screen in front of her. “For a great detective, you’re not really doing a good job right now. I’m sorely disappointed.”
Red Robin laughed. “Sorry, I thought Dick was already here.”
Raven looked at the unmasked man. “I’ll go get him.”
Red Robin shook his head. “Don’t bother. I don’t mind waiting a bit.”
She paused at closing her laptop and stared at the unmasked Red Robin. While it was strange to see Tim Drake outside of his Red Robin uniform a few weeks ago, it was just as stranger to see Red Robin, unmasked, with Tim Drake looking back at her. But she had to admit – he looked good unmasked.
“Err, okay.” She reopened her laptop and hit a few keys. “How is your shoulder?”
“Never been better.”  Tim shrugged the shoulder in question with an amused smile.  “What are you working on?”
Raven paused. “Sorting through some old case files Garfield messed up sorting.”
“Sounds exciting.”
Raven rolled her eyes. “Very.”
Tim chuckled. “That bad?”
“I wish I had the authority to fire Garfield.” Raven deadpanned.
Tim winced. “Is there anything I can do to help?”
“Can you replace Garfield?”
“Not sure if Batman would like a shapeshifting sidekick.”
Raven shrugged. “I’m not sure I’d want one either.”
Tim chuckled. A momentary silence filled the briefing room as Raven typed a few commands into her laptop. Raven looked up from the shitty report Garfield filed and stared at Tim, watching him fiddle with his phone. “I’ll just send Dick a message. He normally isn’t late – unless Melvin and the siblings are holding him up.”
Tim blinked and stopped looking down at his phone. “Right. Yeah, sorry. Thanks, Raven.”
Raven hummed and pressed a few keys on her laptop. “He’ll be here shortly.”
“Thanks, Raven.”
Raven sent him a brief look before tapping a few more keys and closing her laptop. She stood up just as she felt the familiar push of Dick’s emotions down the hallway. Gathering her laptop in her arms, she sent Tim an amused look. “You could have just sent Dick a message yourself, you know.”
Tim laughed, sheepish. “Ah.”
Raven snorted at Tim just as an unmasked Nightwing stepped into the room with a plush bunny in his hand. “Bye, Tim,” she said, not sparing the other Robin a glance and left the two Robins alone.
Dick unceremoniously plopped down in front of the computer, deposited the worn bunny into his lap, and stared up at his younger brother. He grinned as he watched Tim watch Raven leave the room.
“Eyes here, Tim.”
~~~
Contrary to popular belief, Raven did enjoy exercise. While she may not look like it, she did enjoy her time working out in the gym and going through Dick’s deadly training regime – she just liked to complain to annoy Dick most of the time.
Over the past few years, she discovered that running was an excellent way of clearing her mind. She had taken up joining a few marathons for the heck of it and clearly enjoyed completing the runs.
Adjusting her black sports bra, Raven felt the cold Boston wind nip at her exposed legs and stomach. She should have considered wearing a runner’s jacket. The Boston wind was not very forgiving. Standing somewhere in the middle of the crowd of thousands at the Boston Marathon, Raven silently surveyed the crowd and wondered how fast she could go this time around.
“I think you’re going to have a very unfair advantage at this.”
Her ponytail swished as she sharply turned around and look at the very amused expression of Tim Drake. She raised a delicate eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”
Tim shrugged. “We’re one of the sponsors.” He pointed at the WE logo printed on the banner behind her. “Also, publicity.”
Raven crossed her arms and gave Tim a challenging look. Taking in his running attire of black running shorts and the WE corporate logo on his running top, she raised an eyebrow. “Don’t you think you’re going to have an unfair advantage here?”
Tim looked around before leaning and whispering conspiringly. “I’m not the one with superpowers.”
“I do not use them!”
Tim laughed at her indignant look and waved both of his hands in peace. There was a distinct shutter noise and they caught someone taking their photo. Tying his long hair into a low ponytail, Tim waved at her. “I got to go. I’ll see you at the finish line.”
At somewhere along the 20+ kilometer stretch, Raven caught up with sight of Tim keeping a steady running pace. Normally she’d keep to herself while running, but she guessed it wouldn’t hurt to run at Tim’s pace for a bit and then beat his sorry ass. See you at the finish line my ass. Her gaze dropped to his ass for one second.
Running up to him, Raven steadily kept her running pace. She sent him a smirk when she kept running at his pace. “Hey,” she breathed.
Tim laughed. “Hey.”
Catching his eye, Raven’s lips twitched. “See you at the finish line,”
Tim lost his running pace for just a second as he chuckled and watched Raven run past him. As he watched Raven’s small form disappear into the crowd of marathoners, his lack of focus was something Batman would be grossly disappointed at.
It wasn’t an hour later until Raven saw Tim again. She had crossed the finished line a few minutes ago and was sitting on the ground catching her breath and trying to rest her sore legs. Buzzing with a huge sense of accomplishment of finishing the race under 3 hours, Raven faintly wondered how a race could feel both so painful and gratifying at the same time.
“You run fast.”
Tim unceremoniously dropped down in the spot next to her, catching his breath and stretching out his legs. He took a swig from his water bottle and sighed in relief.
Raven turned to stare at Tim as he tried to level his breathing. It should be a criminal offense to still look this good all sweaty and disheveled after running a full marathon. She was sure she looked like shit. She absently patted her disheveled hair.
“I’ve been joining marathons for a couple of years now.” Raven replied. “I like running just as much as I like flying.”
Tim made an acknowledging sound at the back of his throat while still trying to catch his breath.
“How come I’ve never seen you here before?” Raven asked, while pressing a cold water bottle to her neck. She moved a legs a little to get some feeling back into them.
“Probably because there are 30,000 other runners here?” Tim shrugged and grinned at her.
Raven hummed. “Probably.” She fiddled with the cap of her water bottle and took a swig of her water. Or probably she blew off his shoulder a few months ago and had just become more attuned with his aura, she thought.
“I never took you as a running kind of girl.”
Raven blinked and turned to Tim, eyebrows creased as she watched him curiously. “What kind of girl do you think I am?”
Tim made a face. “The non-running kind?”
She rolled her eyes. “I like running. It’s kind of like meditating. And it gives me an excuse to go for runs away from the tower and Garfield.”
Tim chuckled. “Makes sense.”
“How’s your shoulder?” Raven eyed him curiously.
Tim titled his head a little, watching her in mild amusement. “You have to stop asking me that. It’s great.”
Her lips quirked a little bit. “Tell that to my conscience.”
Tim smiled and waved her off. “Occupational hazard. It’s alright.” He grinned when she looked unconvinced and nudged her shoulder slightly with his own sweaty shoulder, much to her annoyance. “Stop worrying about it.”
Raven hummed unconvinced. “We’ll see.” She briefly surveyed the crowd around them as more runners made their way across the finish line. Deciding that it was time for her to go, she stood up and left Tim on the ground. Dick, like the grandmother that he was, would start wondering where she was if she didn’t check-in soon.
“Leaving?”
“Yeah. Your brother will have a heart attack soon if I don’t check in with him.”
“I’m pretty sure he can wait for a few more minutes,” he said while standing up next to her.
Raven made a face. “He likes to crawl up your ass when you’re late for check-ins.”
Tim chuckled and shook his head. Uncapping his water bottle, he dumped the rest of his cold water over his head in an effort to cool his body down. Raven watched as water dribbled down his face and sweaty chest. She blinked, emotions unknowingly flaring. Why does that have to look like a GQ commercial shoot?
“We should go running one of these days.”
Raven absently watched as water droplets slid down Tim’s chin. “I normally run alone.” She said. “But yeah, sure, if you’re in Jump, why not.”
“Great.” Tim smiled. He was about to say something when Raven’s watch furiously beeped loudly. Wiping some water off his neck, he sent her an amused look. “Dick?”
Raven rolled her eyes, tapping her discreet state-of-the-art Titan’s sport watch. She eyed it in slight annoyance. “Yeah.” Looking up and sending Tim an amused smile, she took a step back. She tried to ignore the curious push of emotions from Tim and clutched her water bottle tightly. “I better take this. It was nice, but strange, to bump into you, again. I’ll see you around.”
Tim nodded and offered her a small wave. “See you.”
~~~
At this point, Raven knew who he was even before she could see him. Looking up from her book, she gave him a blank stare.
“I feel like you’re following me.”
Tim laughed sheepishly and dropped into the seat next to her. He surveyed the Jump City park that was bursting from springtime colors. Draping his left arm behind the park bench, he gave Raven a crooked smile. “Maybe I am?”
There was that curious push of emotions again and Raven closed her book. There was no point really of reading anymore anyway. Something flipped inside of her. She’d be a complete idiot if she didn’t see, or feel, the interest he had shown in her over the past months. And she’d be a moron to ignore how absurdly attractive Tim Drake was and how he cast long sideway glances at her. She knew there was something brewing – but admitting that she liked that, was something completely different to her. What was she supposed to tell him anyway?
“You’re not very good at stalking.”
Well, that would work, too.
Tim made a face. “Who said I was stalking?”
“Strange for you to always find me at the right places. Sounds like a stalker to me.” She teased, picking up on his teasing aura.
Running a hand through his hair, Tim chuckled lowly. Breaking eye contact to shake away some nerves, he surveyed the park once more, before turning back to Raven. “Okay. You caught me. What if I am?”
What if he was?
Strange how after so many encounters of him oddly tip-toeing around her, and after her nearly killing him at their very first meeting (honestly that sounded like such a deal breaker), he said everything so simply. This was such an honest and simple offer that meant so many things.
Raven’s lips quirked as she searched Tim’s blue eyes. At the sight of her small smile, he responded with a wider smile. Her fingers tightened around her book. “As long as you don’t jump into my line of fire again, I guess I’d be okay with this.”
There was a warm buzz of emotions and Tim straightened next to her. She felt his arm that was draped over their bench twitch next to her shoulder. “Really? Okay.”’ He laughed. “Great.”
His blue eyes were so different from Dick’s, Raven noted. They were slightly brighter. They shone now with excitement. Raven decided she liked them.
“Go out with me.” He breathed softly. Wow, wasn’t he forward all of the sudden. “Do you want to grab dinner?”
Raven blinked and she gave him an amused look. “Now? It’s just 3 in the afternoon.”
“Oh.”
Raven laughed softly, a rare sight for Tim which made him grin, and she instead settled herself just a little bit closer to him. She felt his left hand twitch behind her shoulder and she allowed herself to nestle under the crook of his arm. It was the same limb that she blasted off just a few months ago. It was a welcoming warmth – maybe she could do this.
“Maybe we can just sit here and wait a bit. And then have dinner later.”
His arm draped behind the bench had made its way to her side, softy draping his arm across her shoulders. “Okay. Sounds like a plan.”
Raven smiled, acknowledging the curious warmth that has been bubbling inside of her for months. Sharing a smile with Tim, she agreed its sounded like this sounded like a good plan.
Mars in Aries~Fiery & Fearless
Mars in Aries~Fiery & Fearless
By Alex Myles
Mars, The God of War, has now entered feisty, fiery and fearless Aries, the planet it rules, bringing in an explosion of highly positive and supercharged energy. This cosmic inferno will be burning through every aspect of our lives for the next 6 months, until it leaves Aries on January 6th, 2021.
The energy of Mars and Aries vibrates on the same frequency, which means their warrior-like qualities will be magnified during this time, in turn enhancing those characteristics within each of us.
Mars only turns retrograde approximately once every two years and usually only spends around 6 weeks in each sign. However, as Mars is retrograde from September 9 through to November 13, 2020, it remains in Aries for an extended period. The last time Mars was in Aries for a prolonged length of time – due to it’s retrograde – was 32 years ago, and the next prolonged period in this sign won’t be for another 47 years.
If we align with this energy, by opening ourselves up to this powerful, potent and rare energetic wave, we will receive the ultimate opportunity to totally transform our lives over the next 6 months, in whichever way we choose.
This celestial energy will be drastically changing how we feel emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually, and we may notice that we have already been reacting, responding and communicating a little differently than we normally would, in particular being far more direct and fearless while expressing how we are thinking and feeling.
The last six months will seem like the calm before the storm in many ways, but not in a negative way, as the Mars and Aries mix bring a major boost in energy. This will activate us on a deep cellular level, causing us to be more motivated, alert, ambitious, empowered and internally and externally stronger than ever before.
This brings an awakening on a mass scale, mainly in relation to our survival instincts, causing them to be far less fear-based, self-gratifying and orientated, and instead focused more on collective growth, evolution, preservation, selflessness and balance.
Overall we will be feeling hopeful and optimistic that there is a much fairer and healthier way of life just ahead, and we will no longer settle for less than what we know we deserve, both personally and collectively.
We will also be feeling as though our spirit is fully alight, and this can cause us to be more courageous, confident, decisive, energetic, assertive, independent, impulsive, impatient, competitive, forceful, spontaneous and possibly slightly fierce or aggressive at times.
We are far less likely to be oppressed, walked or talked over, taken for granted, restricted, silenced or submissive during this period. Most of all though, we will not take kindly to dominating personalities trying to overrule us, and we won’t accept being controlled, manipulated or coerced into anything that doesn’t feel natural or right.
We are likely to be far more hot-headed than normal during these intense months, and we may notice our emotions erupting more frequently, with possible mood swings and tantrum occurring – particularly if we end up with adrenal burn out due to running on adrenalin without getting sufficient rest. This may cause feelings of restlessness, frustrations surfacing and spontaneous outbursts of anger, especially if we don’t regularly practice self-care.
Fortunately Aries energy isn’t one to hold grudges, and is quick to eradicate conflicts, move on and forgive, so when Mars energy disrupts the peace, Aries energy will help disperse tensions and resolve any underlying issues.
Energy is likely to be highly unpredictable as Aries is the sign of change, so expect things to switch around thick and fast, and at any given moment – life may be unrecognisable by the time we reach the end of this 6-month chapter, from how it is now.
We will be driven by passion during this period, so we may finally quit procrastinating and start working on new creations, making bold moves with regards to love relationships, or rekindling chemistry-fuelled connections .
Nothing will be too big an obstacle to overcome and we won’t allow anyone to stand in our way, when it comes to manifesting the life we have been dreaming of. Mars is incredible energy for manifesting, and along with action and goal-oriented Aries, we will find that anything we set our mind on we effortlessly achieve.
This new beginning that Mars and Aries offers coincides with the lunar eclipse on July 4th, which also marks the ending of the last 6-month eclipse cycle and the start of a new one, so never has there been a better time to declare to the Universe exactly what it is, we do, or don’t, want in our lives, particularly during the next half of 2020.
Mars will also be making alignments with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto a little later this year, which will all bring added, extremely positive and highly beneficial, twists, giving us even more opportunities to transcend our fears and thrive, as we flow in alignment with these powerful incoming energies.
Set intentions now and allow the momentum of these powerful and passionate energies to bring major life shifts and totally transform life as we know it by the end of the year.
13x23: Let the Good Times Roll
Then:
Tumblr media
Team Free Will 3.0!
Now:
Tumblr media
Sam gives the new recruits a rundown on the sorry state of our world. (Extra meta credit to the show for letting Jim Beaver talk about The Shape of Water. I’m pretty sure he was going to be in it but couldn’t due to other commitments. I can’t find that news now, but here’s his tweet about it.)
Dean calls. Apparently, Cas, Jack, and him were on a hunt for a case, and found some Kardashian loving werewolves to take out.
Tumblr media
Jack’s still learning (and Dean’s willingly training him. Awww.) While Cas takes out a werewolf outside, Sam, Dean, and Jack take out the rest inside. I love that the lesson about silver bullets doesn’t really apply for Jack, but he still wants to learn. (And, in hindsight, it matters so much that he does learn how to fight like a human.)
Meanwhile, Bobby and Mary take a nice stroll through the countryside, summing up the new world order.
Tumblr media
Yay for Rowena and Charlie Thelma and Louise-ing it through the Southwest. I’m a bit more concerned about Ketch “out doing Ketch things.” Uh, that man is a cold blooded killer. Is he redeemed? He. Killed. Magda. (Natasha: And Eileen. Horribly.) And then Bobby and Mary share a look. (Or, as the script says: They eyefuck.) The lovely interlude is interrupted when they see blood and find Maggie, another refugee, dead, head bashed against a rock.
Sam and Dean are back at the bunker, and that whole werewolf hunt was a lesson for Jack. Dean wants to retire -on the beach with Cas. If Jack can hone his powers, Sam and Dean are going to get their well deserved retirement. SOB.
Jack, bby, is having a nightmare though. Dean rushes to his room and they have a father-son moment.
Tumblr media
They share a moment of mutual nightmares (and we relive au!Kevin’s death again!), and then Dean gives a wonderful, heartfelt, motivating talk to Jack. It’s such a beautiful moment to highlight that Dean will never stop being a parent, and he’ll never stop caring and fighting for his family. It’s also, I think, a moment that will sustain Jack next season. He’s family, and Dean’s his family, and as Dean says, “we look after our own.”
Sam rushes to tell Dean about Maggie, and cut to them all standing around her body.
Tumblr media
Jack takes it personally, but Sam tries to reassure him that it’s not his fault.
Back at the bunker, they start interrogating another refugee. She is shocked to learn that Maggie is dead, and admits that there was a boy that she had a crush on. She probably went to see him the previous night. Jack flaps out before the others.
The boy is named Nate, and he works at the Gas and Go, and Jack is full on rage nephilim. He blasts him, and starts to choke him, demanding an answer to Maggie’s death. TFW bust in and Cas tries to intercede, but is tossed across the room (No Jack!), and then Dean shoots Jack (to get his attention.) Jack, realizing his error, runs out in self-loathing defeat.
Jack starts beating himself up literally and figuratively, and I was tearing up a bit during this scene. He fits so well with TFW --self-loathing and the inability to accept himself and his limitations/uniqueness.
At the Gas and Go, quick thinking Cas gives Nate the FBI cover (with aliases Rowland, Knowles, and Williams, heh. And Dean’s so proud of his quick-thinking husband, he flashes the peace sign. Goober.)
Tumblr media
The place starts to shake and lights begin to flicker --and it’s clear an angel is forthcoming. AGH.
Jack is still hurting himself in the forest when Lucifer pops in. BLARG.
Sam, Dean, and Cas make a run for it, but before they can escape in Baby, Michael appears. BLARG.
Tumblr media
Dean lights and throws their entire container of holy oil at Michael (aw, I remember when Cas originally obtained it to keep Rafael in a ring of fire) and they hightail it out of there.
Meanwhile, Lucifer lets Jack know that it was Sam that trapped him in the AU world. He tries giving Jack the “we’re not human” speech and tries to convince Jack to leave with him. And then Jack, who couldn’t possibly get ANY CUTER, starts talking about Star Wars and light sabers, and OMG. Season 14: Supernatural in Space!
Tumblr media
He also worries about Sam, Dean, and Cas, but Lucifer tells him that this is their opportunity to escape their past, their sins, and start over. Hmmm, I mean, Jack’s made mistakes, but dude, he doesn’t really have a past, or sins. Don’t drag him into your pity party. However, Lucifer sells his plan well enough that Jack agrees.
At the bunker, Bobby and Mary discuss Maggie’s death. Jack and Lucifer come strolling in like it’s nbd. Mary springs into action, telling Bobby to call Sam. Lucifer is here to bring Maggie back to life, per Jack’s wishes. I’m getting a Pet Semetary vibe with this, but it’s all good in the end. (Sidenote: Bobby called Sam - and presumably Dean and Cas - “boys”. Gah.) And before TFW can make it back to the bunker, Jack and Lucifer are gone.
*Mid Episode Aesthetic Break*
Tumblr media
TFW slightly panics when they get back to find that Lucifer’s come and gone with Jack. (Like, that old problem again, amirite?) They split up to investigate leads. Sam gets to gently interrogate Maggie and ask who killed her. Eek. She didn't catch an ID on his face...but she saw his eyes.
Cue Jack and Lucifer… They stargaze together in familial bliss out in the woods while Michael starts his assault on the bunker.
Tumblr media
Lights begin to flicker and the front door rattles. Sam orders Mary and Bobby to take Maggie out through the garage. Sam, Dean, and Cas await Michael. He busts in, they all pull out their weapons and proceed to...fire fruitlessly at Michael while he floats down from the upper balcony like he’s Peter Pan.
Michael tells them all that they can fly if they’ll only believe quickly gets the upper hand on all three of our heroes. He reveals that he made a deal with Lucifer to get to their world. Luci helped him open a rift. (See? I told you not to let Lucifer stay, Sam.) In return, Lucifer gets Jack and Michael gets everything else. (Lucifer. Dude. I love Jack and hate you... but that's a hell of a lopsided deal.)
Michael gives Dean a little preview of his idea of “saving the world” promising Dean that he will be the first to die – the first person he “saves.” Um. Thanks but no thanks, dickhole. Dean slowly suffocates in Michael's grip and Sam prays to Jack for help.
Tumblr media
Jack, that sweet little cupcake, hears Sam's prayer. He realizes that Sam's begging for help and flaps away to the bunker to join the fight.
Dean continues to choke when...WAPOW WAPOW! Jack uses his super nephilim force to knock Michael down. Jack goes full glowy eyes on Michael, twisting his hand into a fist until Michael writhes in agony. “Lucifer, we had a deal,” Michael gasps and Jack turns to Lucifer and asks what that means. (Aw, Jack.) Welp. Lucifer was gonna get the fuck off the planet with Jack while Michael laid waste to Earth. Thus, all the stargazing and romanticizing Star Wars.
Tumblr media
Cas is pissed that Lucifer would just abandon ship (why are you surprised, Castiel?) and Sam ratchets Jack’s shock up another level. Sam reveals that Lucifer killed Maggie. Though Lucifer initially denies it, Jack's eyes glow and he compels Lucifer to tell the truth. (Me: Stop thinking about Tom Riddle in Harry Potter compelling people to “tell the truth.” Jack’s a precious smol nougat. He’s no Voldemort! Also me…)
Tumblr media
“She saw me and she screamed so I crushed her skull with my bare hands and it was warm and wet and I liked it.” It's somewhat refreshing to hear Lucifer say this because he’s the ultimate spin machine, constantly covering up his misdeeds. However, it’s also so disturbing to hear Lucifer's true thoughts that hide under his smirking exterior.
Jack's face falls. “You're not my father,” he says. “You're a monster.” Lucifer screams in rage. He tells Jack that humans are worthless, and that he doesn't need Jack. In a flash, he slits Jack's throat and sucks out a big wallop of grace. NOOOOOOOO!
Lucifer grabs a weakened Jack and Sam lunges for Jack...and then Lucifer flaps out of there with both of them. Dean and Cas are left alone in the bunker with Michael.
Cut to Sam getting tossed across a church floor. Lucifer kicks Sam, his very favorite punching bag. And he's got Jack just where he wants him. Mustache twirl, mustache twirl.
Tumblr media
Back with Michael, Cas demands to know a way to stop Lucifer. Michael tells them that Lucifer is supercharged with Jack's grace...and now he can destroy the universe. Um. Oops. (Does stolen grace slowly kill archangels too?) Michael protests that he can't do anything to stop Lucifer in his “banged up meatsuit.” He coughs pathetically. “This is the end of everything,” Michael says. And damn it all, if Dean doesn't get a really dumb idea lodged in his head.
“What if you had your sword?” Dean asks.
DAMN IT, DEAN
How did we not see Lucifer stealing Jack’s grace? Extracting Jack’s grace to depower him was a plot point last year, and Lucifer using other angels’ grace to power up was used all this season. I think (like always) maybe the pacing could have been better to make it more weighty at the end? Had Lucifer met Jack sooner, and felt betrayed by Jack, and stole his grace sooner so we could feel that power, maybe that would make Dean’s decision more necessary? We know where Dean was coming from with his absolute need to protect his family --at the cost of his own life. They were in a bad spot, but I’m not sure the show made the stakes feel as high as they really were.
Meanwhile Lucifer is playing with his food (aka Sam) when Jack demands that he leave Sam alone. Lucifer's unimpressed and switches his attention to nougat. He punches Jack repeatedly. Father of the year award, here. :(
Lucifer tells Sam that family sucks and Jack being “family” is meaningless. To prove his point, he tells Jack to kill Sam. Lucifer drops his archangel blade at their feet and settles back to wait for the show.
Dean continues breaking our hearts at the bunker. While Cas asks Dean to back down, Dean sells himself as Michael's “sword.” UGH. Michael tells Dean that, were Dean possessed by him they MIGHT have a chance to defeat Lucifer. (Holy shades of Lucifer-possessing-Cas, Batman!) That's all Dean needs to hear. “Lucifer has Sam. He has Jack. Cas, I don't have a choice!” Dean brokers a deal with Michael: Michael can possess him, but he's in charge. Michael looks...very pleased.
Tumblr media
Sam and Jack face each other down while Lucifer natters at them. Sam bends down and picks up the blade. Jack looks hurt. Confused. And then Sam tries to hand him the blade so Jack can kill him instead. NOOOOOOO! (Please imagine this in Luke Skywalker’s voice.) Sam’s willingness to sacrifice himself for his adopted son inspires Jack to...sacrifice himself. Jack knows how to end Lucifer’s game. He’ll kill himself! Jack starts driving the blade into his skin when light streams from behind him. It's Dean! Er, Michael! Er, Michael!Dean!
Tumblr media
“Heya, Sammy,” Dean’s familiar greeting is assurance that he’s still behind the wheel. He looks to Lucifer. It's time to rumble. Lucifer and Michael!Dean start to fight. Um...in the air? (This is no Crouching Tiger.) Supernatural could have at least given them both swirling capes.
Lucifer begins to get the upper hand and it’s looking bad for our team. Sam runs forward and picks up the forgotten archangel blade from the floor, tossing it up into Dean’s hand. Dean stabs Lucifer with it and Lucifer glows with red fire (still floating) before he finally poofs out. DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD!
Lucifer lies dead on the floor, the embers from his burned wings glowing like stars around his head. (Kudos vfx department)
(Boris: I was really shocked about Lucifer’s death at first (I’ve also held that Lucifer would be the ultimate Big Bad in the end), but they’ve been reversing The End this season and that’s exactly how they ended it.)
Sam experiences intense relief. Lucifer, his torturer, is dead! They're happy...they're celebrating… This is Return of the Jedi and they’re all about to eat a little storm trooper with some fuzzy Ewoks when--
Tumblr media
Dean buckles over, gasping. Oh no, we know the signs of an angel/human internal battle. “We had a deal!” Dean shouts and when he lifts his head, Michael's behind the wheel. He looks around casually and then flaps out, leaving Sam and Jack in shock behind him.
Back at the bunker, Mary and Bobby rush back into the library only to find Cas sitting alone on the step. He says nothing. Just shakes his head...
Tumblr media
On a quiet street, Michael goes for a stroll. He's purloined some classy new duds so he can walk the world. His eyes glow…
Tumblr media
Stay tuned, kids.
You Can Quote, You Can Quote, You Can QUOTE!!!
You shot me.
Wanna lightsaber?
Ginger trouble!
You, me, Cas. Toes in the sand. Couple of little umbrella drinks. Matching Hawaiian shirts, obviously. Some hula girls.
It's not about being strong. … Even when we're strong. Man, things are gonna happen. We're gonna make mistakes. Nobody's perfect. But we can get better. Every day, we can better.
I think he thought I'd be trapped over there in “giant litter box world” forever.
Before you died, do you remember anything about the person who killed you?
Daddy Sammy coming to the rescue.
Thanks for the suit.
GetResponse Vs. AWeber: Which Is Best E-Mail Marketing Tool
Tumblr media
GetResponse Vs. AWeber:
Email marketing and automation are one of the most essential factors in your online business’s success.
Whether your business model includes affiliate marketing, selling your own digital/physical products, or selling professional services, you need to collect emails and automate your marketing to get the most out of every penny you spend on ads or shout-outs to acquire customers.
Not only this, if you are an individual who manages a bunch of different stuff like SEO, paid ads on platforms, social media, content production, or anything else, having an automated segment for the most potent channel (email marketing), helps you reduce the work pressure, gives you extra hands-on-work, allows you to connect with your visitors or consumers and have better relationships with them, and be personable and friendly.
In this post, I’ll compare GetResponse and AWeber to test which one is going to work best for you in 2021 as a complete beginner/starter to supercharge your online presence.
Without any further ado, let’s get right into the comparison part real quick.
Side-by-Side Comparison Of FeaturesBefore anything else, let’s compare the features of the two platforms to have a basic understanding.
Who Wins In The Performance?
Now, it’s time to learn about the performance of the two tools. Both the tools offer a large variety of cool solutions, but let’s break some important ones you need to succeed.
1. GetResponse
From my experience, when I got started with GetResponse back at the beginning of 2020, I found it so difficult to use, and some of the templates I needed for my forms and pages were not very much attractive to excite customers. Also, some templates were buggy, and the team assured them to be fixed.
Until then, I was using Mailchimp for all of my email marketing and automation work, as everyone was talking about it lately. But once I hit my 15,000 subscribers, I found that Mailchimp was expensive and not so versatile as well. They were charging me $129/month with the basic plan alone.
That’s very expensive just for an email marketing platform, right?
When I shared this problem with one of my friends, he suggested using GetResponse instead. Just because of the past experience, I was underestimating the platform, but after trying it again, I can say it’s become a beast in the marketing industry.
Or, by looking at other alternatives, I can at least assure you that you should not use Mailchimp for your email marketing. SERIOUSLY!
When you get started with GetResponse, the first powerful feature you get to meet is that it provided pre-optimized email/sign-up forms/landing pages/sales funnels templates, all separated by categories. This gives you extra confidence that your forms or pages are going to perform and convert really well.
It also has an intuitive and responsive drag and drops designing system, which makes it just a matter of clicks for you to complete your automation process, as shown below.
Another great feature is setting up the newsletters. If you are a beginner, there is a drag and drop editor available, but in case you like to code, it also enables you to make it up.
Also, setting up an autoresponder for your personalized list is exceptionally responsive to set up. All you have to do is just fill in your information, create your email, and then boom! That’s that.
Other than email marketing features, you also get to meet some more exciting, useful, and versatile features like – sales funnel builder, landing page builder, webinar hosting, Facebook ads, online store,
These are the refreshing things you get to do with GetResponse for skyrocketing your marketing results and profit.
Now, let’s turn the wheel to AWeber.
2.
AWeber
AWeber is also a great email marketing platform that you should think of before making a profitable decision in choosing your very marketing platform.
This platform is used by thousands of satisfied users and is really good at its features. With powerful email and automation templates, integrations, and a user-friendly interface, it makes its way across to one of the top marketing and automation tools out there on the web.
AWeber is great at user experience too. You can add your subscribers with little to no effort, connect your payment gateways, send emails, create forms, and much more.
So, if I were to talk about some of its great features or strengths, the Reports section really deserves a round of applause.
You can literally track almost everything on your email marketing campaigns. For example, what links people click, the performance of your channel, the location of the users, and the overall growth of your subscriber base.
These stats and reports are shown very neatly and engagingly in AWeber as they are the foundation of your future success.
Around the corner, it also has a super easy sign-up form designing system where you can get your template ready within minutes.
Although it’s not as intuitive as GetResponse, it still works perfectly smooth in its own terms.
Pricing:
GetResponse
Vs.
AWeber
In this comparison chart, I’ll compare how much do the services of the platforms cost, so that you can decide which one to go for.
Well, you can see above that prices vary according to the email list size. You have to decide accordingly.
Final Verdict On
GetResponse
Vs.
AWeber
Both platforms are versatile and have a wide range of useful features available for you and your business’s growth.
There are some of the edges where AWeber is sharp, and on others, GetResponse defines itself as a better option.
So, whether you are just looking for a simple solution to your email marketing problem or seeking a better tool to give you an all in one solution, I lean more towards GetResponse for its performance, usability, features, affordability, and reputation.
But that doesn’t mean I disrespect or don’t like AWeber. The thing is you get a lot of cool and handy bonuses with GetResponse, and also, it is more affordable compared to all other popular platforms for all-in-one marketing. But, again, if you’re just looking for an email marketing solution, AWeber is better than GetResponse for sure.
Still, as both of the platforms provide a 30-day free trial, you should try both of them and decide which one you have to use in the long run.
That’s my honest review of GetResponse Vs. AWeber for beginners in Jan 2021.
Thanks for reading this review or post out, and if you need help with any kind of email marketing problem or marketing in general, feel free to drop a question in the comments below, and I’ll make sure to respond as soon as possible.
Creating Time for Your Team to do Valuable Work
Tumblr media
Business managers have a huge effect on how employees spend their time. One comment in a meeting or quick email can drastically sway a schedule, and even ruin a weekend. But when leaders are deliberate and thoughtful with their choices, they can create opportunities and time for their teams to do valuable work. To master the art of making intentional choices, leaders should focus on three things: the work environment they create, the expectations they have, and the examples they set through their choices and actions.
Environment
1. Treat new tools as debt. Before you add a new product, process, or platform to your company, ask yourself if it’s worth it. There will always be new technologies and processes you can adopt — an app promising better communication, a service promising smarter collaboration. But these products don’t always deliver. And when you’re overeager about trying shiny new things, it can hurt your team more than it helps them. People may become bogged down incorporating a new tool into their workflow, or scattered while attempting to learn a new process. Of course these things can be useful if the timing is right and the strategy is solid, but they also come at a cost.
2. Block as a team. Blocking your calendar is a simple and defensible way to make time for the work that matters. You can supercharge this tactic by agreeing to block your calendar as a team. When everyone in a group or department has the same “do not schedule” blocks on their calendar, it’s much easier to spend that time focused on work.
3. Make your workplace a place for work. Ironically, most offices are not great for getting work done, and open floor plans deserve most of the blame. Moving walls may not be realistic, but you can change the default behaviour of your team by instituting Library Rules. Jason Fried, co-founder and president of 37signals and co-author of Rework, has a brilliant suggestion: Swap one default (you can talk to anyone anytime) with a different default, one that everybody already knows (act like you’re in a library).
4. Keep it small. Large teams have more overhead than small ones. Complicated projects have more unknowns than simple ones. Long timelines encourage people to take on unnecessary work. This probably seems obvious, but my experience is that most leaders make things bigger than they need to be. Keep teams, projects, and timelines as small as possible.
Expectations
5. Reward the right behaviors. The 21st Century workplace is full of rewards for long hours and fast responses: compliments, promotions, and cultural badges of honor. If you want to get better, more valuable work from your team, think about which behaviors you reward — even if those rewards are small and unconscious.
6. Have a contact contract. We have so many ways to keep in touch at work — writing emails, sending chats, scheduling meetings, hopping on calls. Which form of communication is the most appropriate, and when? You can help your team decide by having an open discussion about everyone’s preferences and then making guidelines that work for the majority. Think about timeliness, thoughtfulness, interruption, and synchronicity. The decisions you come to don’t have to be a literal contract, but they should create an understanding about when and how to communicate.
7. Don’t ask for updates. Nothing triggers anxiety like an email from the boss late in the day: “Hey, can you send me a quick update on Project Alpha?” This kind of message appears urgent — even if it’s not — and it will likely take time for your employee to respond. They may have to run numbers or ask collaborators for updates. A better way to keep tabs on projects is to ask your team for summaries. Explain to them that summaries come at the end of a project, or mark a milestone, and include: the results, the lessons learned, and what needs to happen next.
8. Be mindful of what you say, because everyone’s listening. When leaders make careless comments or suggestions, they can unintentionally change the workflow of their teams. It takes great restraint as the leader not to keep lobbing ideas at everyone else. Every such idea is a pebble that’s going to cause ripples when it hits the surface. Throw enough pebbles in the pond and the overall picture becomes as clear as mud. Leaders need to recognize the weight their words carry, and practice speaking with thoughtful intention.
9. Don’t expect consensus. Getting everyone to agree before moving forward with a decision can waste time if consensus is not realistic. In fact, a little conflict often inspires learning and innovation, especially on diverse, thoughtful teams. The key, then, is to collect input from everyone, consider your options, and then make a decision based on what you think is best given the information you have. Be transparent with your team about how you made the decision — what you considered, and why — and set time aside to answer questions. People should walk away with a clear understanding of your choice and how it affects their work. This will save you time later on.
Examples
10. Turn off the phone.  Your decisions about how you spend your time sets the example for your employees. As a leader, you might want them to know you’re available when they need you — but if being logged in and responsive at all times becomes your default, it might become theirs too. Projecting this kind of presence sends the message that it’s okay for people to interrupt you whenever you’re needed, or worse, that the company values the appearance of availability over the time and focus needed to do great work. The solution is to create boundaries. Be straightforward about your time, when you need to focus, and when you are free. A good option is to create “office hours” — periods when anyone can drop in or schedule time with you . These meetings will allow you to give people your undivided attention when you’re available to do so.
11. Be thoughtful, not reactive. When leading new initiatives, take the time to thoughtfully write your ideas down and consider them. Try not to “think out loud” in meetings. Even if you are brainstorming with others, avoid making a decision on the spot. Give yourself the mental space you need to feel confident that the decision you make is the best path forward. This will save time down the road, and help your team avoid unnecessary road blocks or last minute changes. Ask: How can I make this — product, service, or company — better right now? What are the first steps?
12. Take real breaks. Leave work early. Take a weekend getaway. Go on a long holiday. And when you do, tell your team you’ll be out of the office and offline. Delegate people to make decisions while you’re out, or defer those decisions until you come back. Real breaks can make you a better leader, a happier person, and set the standard that people need, and deserve, time off.
If you’ve ever wished for better work, greater job satisfaction, or less stress for your team, you have the power to make those changes by rethinking the decisions you make about time. New behaviours have a funny way of becoming habits. What sounds crazy and new right now will seem normal and inevitable in a couple of years. Take these ideas as experiments you can run with, and start testing them tomorrow.
Part Three: More than a Pretty Face. (Fallen Idols S05E05)
Useful Links: Last Part | All Episodes Word Count: 4,279. A/N: Better late than never for an update, eh? Sorry for the serious delay in updates! I've been so busy over the past week, it's been hard to find the motivation to finish this episode. But we luckily have one more part until this is done. Hopefully I can get that one out sooner!
Your name: submit What is this? // <![CDATA[ function replaceAll(find, replace, str) { return str.replace(new RegExp(find, 'g'), replace); } function myHandler() { var input = document.getElementById("inputTxt").value; document.body.innerHTML = replaceAll('Y/N', document.getElementById("inputTxt").value, document.body.innerHTML); } // ]]>
Ever since last night, you couldn't shake the feeling that you might have been getting something wrong here. Spirits were more of the common monsters you hunted, and every single time you had come in contact with them, the same routine always played out. But it seemed Dean thought all of you were done with this hunt, and it was time to move on to the next one. You sat on the edge of his bed, your belongings were at the doorway, you waited for the boys to finish packing up their stuff as you kept yourself busy by refolding Dean's shirts when he just carelessly shoved them in. He quickly got tired of your help when he snatched a shirt from your grasp when he noticed you taken it out of his bag. You rolled your eyes, dropping your hands to your lap when he tucked it back into the bag before heading for the dresser to fetch the remaining of his clothes.
"Sammy," Dean called out for his brother when he was still in the bathroom with the door open wide, "You ready to blow this joint?"
“Guys, didn't it strike you as strange, the way she just vanished like that?" You couldn't help yourself anymore, the feeling of uneasiness made the question come out of your mouth. Dean headed over to the dresser again to grab the last of his clothes, he wondered what you meant by strange. "No screaming, no big flameout. I mean, that isn't the way ghosts usually go."
"Still," Dean didn't seem to find your argument all that worthy for his attention as he continued on packing. "I torched whatshername banner like you told me to, she vanished."
Yeah, but I—" You found yourself stopping mid sentence at your thought, knowing it would only lead you with the progress of running around in circles with him. You decided to share another piece of information that was much different from any spirit that you had come in contact with. "Also, I feel like she was...trying to take a bite out of me. Like she was hungry. Which is a new one for me, personally. But the thing is, Alice Paul—or the real Alice—was known for her hunger strikes."
Dean wouldn't let you finish your sentence to continue explaining, he started chuckling to himself in disbelief. "Let me get this straight. Your ultimate hero is a chick who starved herself?"
"What? No. Alice Paul was one of the many women who fought in the suffrage movement back in the nineteenth century. She was thrown in jail, which lead and several other women doing hunger strikes just for the right to vote. I mean, she's not the only person I look up to—there's other amazing women in history like Rosa Parks, Florence Nightingale, Joan of Arc. The list goes on." You said, giving him the reason why you had found the woman so intriguing. "The reason why Alice Paul is one of my hero is because she fought tooth and nail just to have the same rights as men. She's one of the many women who have been fighting the same battle for centuries. But you would know that, if you opened up a text book in your life."
"Maybe Y/N's got something here. That was pretty out of the ordinary for us ganking a spirit." Sam jumped to your defense. He had arrived out of the bathroom a few moments ago, now he was standing next to his motel bed, putting off packing for another minute. Dean looked over at his brother, and just a second later, he was being greeted with an annoyed glare when he put his opinion in where the man thought it didn't belong. "Look, I'm just saying I'm not so sure this thing is over."
"It was a ghost. It was a weirdly supercharged feminist ghost. But it was still a ghost." Dean clarified for the both of you, as if what you had witnessed last night was good enough for him to skip town. You rolled your eyes and crossed your arms over your chest, still keeping your personal beliefs that something was wrong here. But the older Winchester seemed not to care, he swung his duffel bag over his shoulder and put himself in the position straight for the door. "Now let's go."
"So, first, you drag me into town," Sam couldn't take it anymore, he decided that right now was when he was going to speak his frustration to his older brother once and for all. "And now you're dragging me back out?"
"You ain't steering this boat." Dean said, shrugging off the man's opinion and began heading for the door. He took a few steps across the room, but when he noticed you and Sam were still in your same position, he stopped himself to give the same command. "Let's go. Chop-chop."
"You know, this isn't gonna work.” Sam admitted the truth he'd been trying not to say over the past month of being back. Now the shoe was on the other foot, the brothers were changing roles of who couldn't trust the other. You knew this was the same song and dance, with the same damn ending like their many other fights over the past several years. Dean looked at the man, not sure what he was getting at. ”Us. You, me--together. I though it could, but it can't."
"You're the one that wanted back in, cheif." Dean said, trying to defend himself.
"And you're the one who called me back in." Sam stressed the point.
"I still think we got some trust-building to do."
"How long am I gonna be on double-secret probation?"
"Until I say so."
"Look, I know what I did, what I've done. And I am trying to climb out of that hole. I am." Sam spoke up a moment later, deciding to use a more calmer tone to try and keep this conversation from turning into an argument. He was trying his hardest to be level headed, but his brother wasn't helping when he rolled his eyes. "But you're not making it any easier."
"So, what, am I supposed to just let you off the hook?" Dean questioned the younger man.
"No. You can think whatever you want. I deserve it and worse. Hell, you'll never punish me as much as I'm punishing myself." Sam admitted the bitter truth with a fraction of a smile. You looked at him a bit differently, you gave him a look of sympathy for the mental torture he was putting himself through. He brushed your concern off as it was nothing, keeping more to the conversation, as if nothing was wrong. "But the point is, if we're gonna be a team, you and I, it has to be a two-way street."
Dean responded not a second later, "So we just go back to the way it was before?"
"No, we were never that way before. Before didn't work. How do you think we got there?" Sam asked the dreaded question. Dean looked at the man, he felt his own brother was accusing him of something that pushed him down the path that started all of this. "Dean, one of the reasons I went off with Ruby...was to get away from you. It made me feel strong, like I wasn't your kid brother."
The older Winchester's face scrunched up in anger at the accusation, "Are you saying this is my fault?"
"No, it's my fault." Sam said, trying to defuse the miscommunication between the both of them. “All I'm saying that if we're gonna do this, we have to do it different. We can't fall into the same rut."
"What do you want me to do?" Dean asked in a quiet tone, as if he was honestly starting to try again.
Sam answered for him with what he's always wanted, "You're gonna have to let me start grow up, for starters."
Before this conversation could continue on anymore, you were saved by the ringing of your cell phone. It seemed the boys had realized you were still in the room, they were both caught up in their own personal disagreements, you slowly faded off into the background. You shoved your hand into your pocket and fetched out your phone, not even looking at the name, you answered it after the second ring. "Hello? Oh, Sheriff Carnegie. Funny you called, we were just--Wait, wait." You stopped talking when the sheriff began speaking rather quickly, trying to get across the new case that had just arrived at his desk not even an hour ago. You listened to what he had to say, most importantly, it was connected to what's going on. When you told him you would be down there in twenty minutes, you ended the call and looked at the brothers. "Looks like I was right about this thing not being over."
+ + +
The brothers could be deep into a fight, but when duty calls for a case, it seemed both of them could push their personal differences asides to wrap this up once and for all. The three of you managed to get dressed up and back at the station almost exactly at the time you promised the sheriff. You had become a bit familiar with the workings of the building as you headed into the station to find the sheriff with the boys following behind. Amongst all the ringing phones and police officers diligently doing their job, you spotted Sheriff Carnegie quietly sitting at his desk.
"Sheriff Carnegie," You spoke the man's name when you approached him. You gave him a concerned look at the look you noticed was on his face, it was as if he was more confused at this new addition to the case than the last two. "What happened?"
"I, uh, um..." The sheriff seemed to have been lost for words, he threw his hands up as he shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know."
Nothing could explain what he was told without it sounding ridiculous. You furrowed your brow from the lack of information you were getting, the sheriff finally pointed a finger over his shoulder. You looked up to see that he was directing you to the conference room just behind him, where two girls who looked to be just in their teens sat. Both of them exchanged worried look as they sat quietly, it wasn't hard to see they were scared out their minds from what they witnessed. You looked over at the boys before heading inside, wondering what this was all about.
"Excuse us, girls. Hi," Dean greeted the teenagers with a warm smile. "We're with the FBI. Would you mind telling us what happened?"
"It was horrible."
"Way horrible."
You gave the girls a concerned look, "What was horrible?"
"You won't believe us." One of them whispered, dropping her gaze to her lap.
"Believe what?" Dean asked, hopeful one of the girls would spit out a straightforward answer.
One of them finally admitted, "She took Danielle!"
"Who?" You asked. The girls quickly fell silent from the question, both of them stared down at their laps, afraid if they spoke the name all of you would start laughing like the officer who took their statement. "It's okay. You're safe. Just tell us. Who took your friend?"
"It was...Paris Hilton." The girl said the name quick as she could. You found yourself looking at her with confusion, wondering what the hell was going on. "She looked really good, though."
"Skinny."
"Skinny and fast."
Dean blinked, he tried his hardest to respond, but nothing intelligible came out. "Um," Sam was the one who responded, somehow making a sentence that didn't sound like gibberish. "Where did they go?"
"We don't know." One of them answered, shaking her head. "They just vanished."
"Would you excuse us for just a minute?" Dean asked the girls, giving them both a small smile.
You gave the teenagers a quick smile of your own before joining the brothers out in the hallway for a bit of privacy to discuss what was going on here. It seemed you might have to rethink what you were up against. “Paris Hilton’s not dead as far as we know, right?” Dean asked, making sure to keep his voice not above more than a whisper. You looked over at Sam, both of you shrugged your shoulders, thinking she was still alive and breathing. “Which means it's not a—”
“Ghost. No.” You agreed. You glanced over back at the girls again, while their case hadn't exactly been the same pattern as the others, you had a feeling it was all connected. “Unless Paris Hilton’s a psycho maniac—which is highly unlikely, I think it's safe to say we missed something.”
"What do you wanna do?"
You and Sam decided to review the bodies again, wondering if you might have missed something in the coroner's notes, leaving Dean to wait outside in the parking lot until you investigated this one more time. Your formal clothing you had arrived in was lying across the room, trading them in for a pale blue set of scrubs and rubber gloves to blend more into the atmosphere, and without the chance of ruining your clothes. Sam read the file of Cal Hopkins, leaving you to read the information William Hill again. You were finding the same details all over again, it didn't give you much insight of what was going on here, but it seemed that Cal had a more detailed autopsy.
William Hill's body was still in the morgue until the case would be formally shut, and with the help of Sam, you and him got the man's dead corpse on the metal slab, nothing more than a crisp white sheet covered his lower half. "If I'm right about this," Sam told you his explanation of hauling a dead man's body out of the cooled atmosphere and into a much warmer climate, "The coroner mention finding something strange in Cal's stomach. Which means..."
"One of us has to cut into him, don't we?" You asked the younger Winchester with dread. You could feel yourself becoming a bit queasy at the thought when you glanced down at the body for a moment. Before Sam could offer a chance to see who would do it, you placed your index finger on your nose and said, "Nose game--not it."
Sam didn't know what you were doing until it was too late. He often played rock, paper, scissors to make risky decisions with his older brother. You decided to up the stakes, giving him a different game, and not giving him a chance to fairly play. It seemed that you wouldn't offer to try for another round, instead, you handed him the scalpel with a smile stretching across your lips. Sam decided to be the bigger person here just to get the job done faster. He grabbed the scalpel, and with the deep breath, he forced himself to make the first cut into the dead body. He made an incision that was deep enough for him to continue on further for what he was about to do next. You watched as Sam began forcing his hand into the dead body so he could reach for the stomach, you quickly looked away when you accidentally took a whiff of the decomposition, despite it being in cooled temperatures.
"Whew! That's ripe." Sam remarked underneath his breath. Your nose scrunched up as you slowly glanced back to see how he was doing. It seemed from the look on his face, Sam had found something. A second later, you looked upwards to his gloved hand, bloodied from his digging, but it was what he was holding between his index finger that caught your attention. "What the hell?"
It seemed that he had found the clue all of you accidentally looked over. You bagged what he had found and got dressed back into your normal clothes. You and Sam headed back out shortly after to see that Dean was where you had last left him. When he saw you coming down the steps, he pushed himself up to his feet after leaning against the stairwell.
"I can't believe I missed it." Sam said. All of you headed back to the Impala, knowing there was more research to do after your own personal findings with Sam's help. "Y/N and I went back over the two vics. There was blood loss--major."
"Yeah, well," Dean didn't seem to think any of it was out of the ordinary, "Being a gory smear will do that to you."
"No, no, he means more blood loss than a car crash or a head wound should cause. Almost like something's feeding off them. Which would explain why I was almost last night's snack." You said. You snaked a hand inside your pocket, pulling out the small plastic baggie you had stolen to hoard what Sam found. Holding it in front of Dean's face, you let him inspect the two small black objects. "And then Sam found these."
"What are those, seeds?" He asked with a bit of confusion.
"Yeah," Sam said. "they were in both vics' bellies."
Dean ripped his hand away from the bag when he realized where they had come from. You couldn't help yourself but quietly chuckle at his reaction when his face scrunched up in disgust, he took a counter measure of wiping his palm against his dress pants. "Gross. I hope you two washed your hands."
"They're unlike any other seed I've seen before." You said, taking a moment to investigate a bit further into detail know that you were in natural sunlight.
"Wow," Dean broke your concentration away, making you look over at him from what he said next. "Just when I thought Sammy was the geekiest . You're giving him a run for his money, Y/N.'
+ + +
You had been looking at your laptop screen for the past three hours, and with your luck, you had no idea what the hell you were looking for. You took your stressed out eyes from your computer and to the two black seeds, out of the bag, you found yourself staring at them with a glare, as if they had the ability to give you a mocking expression in return. While you were giving up hope you were going to find a breakthrough in this case, Sam came to your rescue. "Yahtzee!" Sam shouted from across the room with a chuckle, you quickly looked over at him when you realized he had found something of importance.
The seeds aren't from around here. In fact, they're not from any tree or plant in the country." Sam said, briefly skimming the information before reading off what he thought was important back to you and his brother. You raised your brow in curiosity and asked him where they were originally from. "Eastern Europe, from a forest in the Balkans, which is not even there anymore. It was chopped down like thirty years ago. Local legend has it that the forest was guarded by a pagan god whose name was Leshi--a mischievous god, could take on infinite forms."
"And let me guess," You said, "he liked to munch on his fans."
"Yep. 'Could be appeased only with the blood from his worshippers.'" Sam read from his laptop screen, giving more insight of what you were dealing with here. "It would drain them and then stuff their stomach with the seeds."
"How's he doing it? What, he touches James Dean's key chain and then morphs into James Dean?" The older Winchester asked. You looked up to see that he moved away from the bed and headed over to the table. You shrugged your shoulders, seeming to think that it could have been a possibility. When Dean destroyed all evidence of what this pagan god could have transformed into, it vanished from sight. "More important question is, how do we kill him?"
"Says here to chop off his head with an iron ax." Sam said.
"Wait, how the hell are we gonna find an iron ax? It's not like we've got one just lying around in the trunk." You said, mentioning a small clinch in their plan before all of you could play the hero like always. The boys looked at each other, and from their expression, it seemed that you were thankfully proven wrong. "Oh, okay...Let's go gank ourselves a Paris Hilton, shall we?"
+ + +
You had killed a list of different people in your line of work; innocent people possessed by demons, a few shifters that had taken forms of others that got you into deep trouble, the typical monsters, and that one time Dean had to kill himself—when the very first shifter who had took the persona of the man. This job had a lot of ups and downs, but you never killed a pagan god dressing himself up as a celebrity. You wandered through the wax museum late at night with the boys. While you manned the flashlight, Dean stood by your side with the ax as Sam was in front of the both of you. So far, everything seemed quiet enough, but you had a feeling this wouldn't last long.
All of you continued down the hall of the museum, as you and Sam continued on forward, Dean steered off the path, taking a left down to another section of the hallway. Nothing seemed to have stood out as suspicious to you, it was exactly as it was when you were here the other night, except for one thing. Your flashlight caught sight of a warning sign that was straight ahead about no trespassing due to construction. You glanced up at Sam, he shrugged his shoulders, thinking it might have been a possibility that's where you would find trouble. As you glanced over your shoulder, expecting to see Dean standing right now behind you, you rolled your eyes in frustration when you noticed he was nowhere to be seen. Sam had a quick solution, he whistled, loud enough for the sound to echo through the museum. Not even a second later, you saw Dean pop out from the corner.
Sam moved the sheet that was covering the entrance into the other part of the museum. He cautiously looked around to see if there was anybody around, but it remained the three of you. You headed inside when you noticed the new exhibit the museum was working on had remained empty. The setting was a bit unclear, it mostly resembled the outdoors, but you noticed the front of a house just across the way with another wax figure. For a moment you thought it could have been trying to copy the white house, but you pay much attention, you began scanning the area to see if you could find anything useful. You turned around slightly in your spot so you could inspect the far left side of the place. You spotted an almost endless amount of fake brushes around a few of the trees, and an unconcious teeanger tied to one of them.
You quickly moved to where she was and placed two fingers against the crook of her neck to see if she had a pulse. "She alive?" Dean quietly asked you.
"Barely." You admitted with a quiet sigh.
As you moved to untie the girl from the tree, you didn't make very much progress, for you had more important things to worry about. The ax that Dean was holding with a loose grip suddenly was ripped from his hands, it went flying into the air, and straight into a tree. None of you had any idea what was going on before it was too late. You looked to see you had a friendly guest, there stood the pagan god himself, but instead of being a crusty old man or dead celebrity, it was an upgrade in form. She stood there with her clothes and jewelry that looked more expensive than your house and everything inside combined. Dean stood closer to her, but before he could take his chance to take a swing, Paris was faster.
She proved to be more than just a pretty face, swinging punches faster than an experienced hunter could keep up with, and before you realized, Dean's unconscious body was lying on the ground. Sam thought he had a fighting chance at taking the woman on, but before he could move even a foot, she easily flung him into the air, making him roughly bash his head against one of the banisters on the porch. When she realized how easy it had been taking out the boys, she placed her hands on her hips and grew a smile, knowing the only obstacle that stood in the way was you.
You thought that this was going to be easy. Throw a few punches and a take a swing right at her neck to chop off her head to end this all once and for all. But it seems Paris wanted to show you she wasn’t exactly like the true woman, she knew how to pack a punch. You didn’t have a single chance at trying to defend yourself when she came after you. She threw a few punches before you stumbled to the grass, you softened the blow by outstretching your arms, making yourself a perfect target. She stood over you, and with a toothy smile, she lifted up her Louboutin heels, you only recognized them by the iconic red sole. But before you could remark the expensive shoe, darkness was the only thing you could see a few seconds later.
Learn to Become A Better Business Leader
For a business to be successful, it must have an effective leader. Your leadership style should be adjusted to fit the specific individual you are working with. The fact is that effective leaders are made, not born that way. Learn how you can become a strong leader in whatever you do.
Honesty is always the perfect starting point for any decent leader. When you are a leader, your goal should always be to try to lead your team in the right direction. As an honest leader, your direction will be understood and trusted. You should always try to be honest with the people that you're working with as it will influence the other people to be honest.
    Focus on the people you are trying to lead, not yourself. It can be difficult to do that, but when you are a leader, you think of everyone. You must forget about yourself and focus on what you can offer to those who would follow you. That is the right thing to do, and you will find that most people appreciate that behevior.
  If you have an employee that goes above and beyond the call of duty, do not hesitate to give them extra praise and rewards. Even though it may seem like you are playing favorites, you are giving them what they deserve. be open with other employees about it so they are aware of what rewards come with hard work.
Conquer your fear. Fear can be a terrible thing for you to experience, especially if you're a leader. Instead, start paying attention to what the fear is telling you. Learn to process it in a way that is healthy and in a way that urges you to move beyond the fear to something more.
  Take care of yourself. When you're a leader, it can be very easy for you to lose yourself. However, it's important for you to remember that you are not going to be much use if you never sleep and never eat. Make sure that you are caring for yourself so you can best care for those you are leading.
  Synergy is something to always keep in mind. Understand what you want to achieve in life. Understand your business goals. You should be sure that these things are aligned well and perhaps even overlap. You'll always be able to have both of these things worked on simultaneously. When you can't, people will see your lack of passion.
  Build play time into work time. Not every moment of the day needs to be filled with productivity. Smart leadership will find ways for employees to let go every once in a while. It can be an outdoor activity or an indoor game room, or something else entirely. You'll see that your employees will respond positively.
Dress the part. There's a perception to leadership. If you look the role, people will respond to your leadership much more positively and openly. If you dress poorly, it'll be a tougher road to climb instilling leadership. It's possible still, but make it easier on yourself and be the best dressed person in the office.
  Always remember that there is an inverse relationship between what's on your mind and your personal productivity right now. If something is on your mind, write it down. If you need to, work on it now. If it can wait or can't be helped right this minute, set the paper to the side and get to work on something you can do right now.
  You might feel like starting each day or shift with a motivational speech, but this can get old for your crew quickly. As a matter of fact, such tactics are overrated. The biggest impact you make in terms of personnel is who you hire, who gets fired, and who gets assigned to the big projects.
  All leaders must be able to conduct meetings successfully. The next time you are meeting with your workforce, let them know of a few skills you are working on to help you to better facilitate meetings. Afterwards, get some feedback from a few employees, asking them how they think you did with each of your goals. You may learn some valuable information that will boost your leadership skills.
As a leader, remember that people may want to try to emulate you. That's why you should be the best leader that you can be. Give them great qualities to mimic. Calm is one trait that somebody may mimic, but they may also mimic panic if that's what you normally express. The same goes with traits like intelligence and kindness. Be the best that you can be so that others can "follow your lead."
  Make sure each of your employees feels like an integral part of your organization. When dealing with specific problems, discuss them with employees who may have good insights or suggestions for finding a solution. Employees who feel that they are important within the company and may be able to affect change are more likely to perform well.
  While a degree of assertiveness is useful in certain aspects of leadership, think twice before using aggressive humor. This particular type of humor tends to win laughs at the expense of others, which can create a hostile and unpleasant working environment. It also makes it difficult for members of your team to view you as a fair, respectful leader.
  Emotional intelligence plays a large role in your success as a leader. It's not enough to know every policy, procedure, and protocol. You also have to know people! Research in this area reveals that a leader's mood can have a significant impact on team members' performance. A positive, forward-thinking attitude tends to result in higher productivity and greater job satisfaction.
  It isn't easy to become an effective business leader. As tough as it may be, leadership is something anyone can learn. If you feel up to the challenge, use these tips to position yourself as a leader in your company.
