After weeks of work and agony, i finally did some sprite edits of my own, ending up with these 4 AU versions of the DRA/SDRA2 characters:

She Was Saved AU!Akane (An AU version of Akane Taira who survived her canonical death, and now travels Japan alongside Yuki Maeda to help those suffering because of the Tragedy)

10 Years Later!Yuki (An 29-30 years old Yuki Maeda, who has lived on Akane Taira's body for 10 years after the end of Mikado Sannoji's killing game, and has changed into an appearance he's more confortable with)

10 Years Later!Mikado (An 20-30-something years old Mikado Sannoji, who has lived on Akane Taira's body for 10 years after he succesfully stole the Divine Luck and escaped his virtual prison, who now is creating a new Void to continue with his nefarious plans)

The Algorithm (An Alter Ego AI created from Sora's original algorithm, who doesn't have neither Akane Taira/Sora's memories and humanity nor any desires besides doing what's she's told, that now lives without purpose now that Mikado Sannoji's master plan was stopped)

Sprite edits! I been making a lot of these lately!

If you've been around the another fandom for a while now you've probably see this desigh for Iroha somewhere before so have a fun fact from its creator!

This was originally made as an Iroha redesign begore the Voidswap Au was even a thing. Basically me and my friends were discussing how deceiving Iroha's design is, she's very cutesy and sweet looking but her personality is absolutely rancid and self-centered, so we did a lil exercise where we did our takes on Iroha in a way that showed her outside just as much as her insides.

So this was my take on that! More grey-ish color scheme, messy hair and eyebags, and an overall more sleazy look. For a while this stayed as just a sketch in one of my notebooks until Voidswap came in and i repurposed it as her adult/out of sim design, and that's how homeless Iroha came to be!

Basically a part 2 to this post about Real World Void designs since my design for Real World!Iroha won't be used for this project since another person apparently already did her before I was reached out for the other three. But yeah, here's Iroha! I feel like I was able to keep her cute while making her look a little more like her actual adult age.

I always thought it was a crime I mean shame that Void never got new designs for their real world counterparts. I think it really would've sold how everyone's appearance had been reverted back to their teenage selves during the events of the killing game as even Void wouldn't wear the same thing back when they were younger, right?? I don't care if they still wear those clothes as adults or that they could pass as teenagers, people usually change their wardrobe as they get older. Especially Emma. She should not be wearing a school uniform as an adult. Like, c'mon.

Even Syobai and Mikado got to change, and all Syobai did was clean up his appearance while Mikado not only gets a real life counterpart with black hair and glasses (who turns out to be a separate person), but also a glitchy version of himself.

⚠️SHSL Detective ! Kazuichi Souda 🕵️‍♂️

I'm hoping to make a small series of fun lil sprite edits with my talentswap AU that scrambles the talents of Class 77 and Class 78, and has its own weird lil story to go with it

(someday I'll think of a cool shorthand title. maybe. perhaps. as a treat. i would also like to write this story someday... we will see, since evidently im allergic to projects)

Headcanons? Headcanons for Detective Souda?

(also a lil comparison between this one and normal Kazu, and some AU info)

For this AU, characters' original body types, general interests/inclinations, and much of their personality is intact - the only parts of their personality that change are things influenced by their line of work alone. A lot of who we are and who we become tends to be influenced by our interests, which in turn is influenced by our upbringing, which also influences who we are... but I intend to keep the characters as close to how they are outside of their original talents as possible.

This AU also swaps the end twists between the 1st and 2nd games, and in some way keeps original relationships (like Makoto and Kyoko's partnership, and Souda's inclination towards Sonia). Some personality aspects are allowed to bloom or forced into hiding, depending on the upbringing I imagine would have been needed to allow these talents to shine within them and rise to Ultimate status.

ok Souda Headcanon Time:

The teeth are actually natural - he has a disorder which effects a number of things but especially effects his teeth, which are sharp as a result (something that evidently exists?? tho i forget the name, and it's not as perfect as drawn here ofc but.)

I think og-Souda would have a great skincare routine, one that Detective Souda lacks, since he never gained the motivation nor inspiration to care more about his appearance in front of others. So, he has some zits.

When he was very young, he was living with his father in their bike shop, but his dad went too far one night. A worried neighbor called authorities on them after witnessing his dad's aggression. At some point, the situation tips over, and Kazu's removed from his father's custody.

The detective investigating his father's abuse took care of him, and eventually adopted him after his dad was incarcerated. New Dad was not physically abusive, and genuinely cared for his new son, but due to his line of work he wound up kind of a sad sack of a person, so he's still a pretty cringefail/wetkitten father figure.

Kazuichi would accidentally stumble across his files around the house, and witnessed far more corpses than he likely should have as a child. Terrified at first, he eventually suppressed his fears in favor of trying to become a stronger person, and insisted on applying himself to learn his caretaker's line of work... inadvertently witnessing even more death and dying than he should have, from a young age.

As a young teen, he took interest in therapy and self care, and came to realize his trauma regarding his father and his guardian / upbringing. New Dad has his full love and respect and he tries to change for his son. This kind of expands Kazu's self-respect a little, while adding new depths to his hatred/fear of violence and conflict.

Due to his new caretaker, he never went to the same schools, and lost his original friends as a result - so he doesn't suffer from the same trust issues as OG-Souda, and as a result, easily clings to the people around him and allows himself to get lost in his head a tad more often than OG.

He specializes in forensic investigative work, because his brain is still wired better for calculations, spatial reasoning, and mathematical speculation.

He also still loves learning about how things work, and now, he's especially interested in how things have happened / come to be - finding satisfaction in analyzing evidence, instead of reverse-engineering parts/machines.

He even still has a mild interest in mechanics! But he is firmly convinced that being handy and technical is nothing to boast about.

He is also now convinced that he wouldn't make a good repairman/mechanic/engineer, anything of the sort. Part of this apprehension is due to his hatred of his father.

He is still pretty timid, and jumps easily at any sudden or loud noise, is afraid of the paranormal, gets upset easily when socializing, and feels terrified when there is any perceived threat.

However, death and dead bodies are some of the things that no longer frighten him. Upset, sure, but nothing like OG-Souda. He sees dead bodies as objects to investigate and solve, as opposed to feeling the horror of seeing a deceased fellow human, or feeling too overwhelmed if it's someone he knew. Because of this, it's easy for him to get lost in his work and feel totally disconnected while investigating.

Speaking of sprites, i might as well just go ahead and make the link for these publicly avaliable, I'm proud of how they look and would love to see people using them! (With credit given, of course, tho no need to actually tag me in whatever you're doing)

*drags Tsurugi by the handcuffs* So I spun a wheel, and it landed on our favorite boy, the Ultimate Police Officer himself, Tsurugi Kinjoooo.

So, the first thing I wanted to mention was Tsurugi's skin tone. Obviously, when you compare his DRA sprite with his SDRA2 sprite, he is FAR paler than his younger self which can be an...odd choice to make. You can probably handwave it as Kinjo simply looking like that cause he's sickly, but with LINUJ's 2022 winter illustration, it's pretty much canon that he was always suppose to be pale. Honestly, the DRA sprites have their saturation turned all the way up to eleven, and in Tsurugi's case it makes his skin tone look darker than what seems to be intended. I used to turn up the saturation up a lot back in middle school while drawing, too, so I won't harp too much about it. Anyway, since this is Tsurugi from DRA before he, uh, got sick, so to say, I decided to try and strike a balance with his skin tone: pale but clearly very healthy (for now). Aside from that, Tsurugi's design was pretty much fine? When you're told that he's the Ultimate Police Officer, you can understand where LINUJ was going with his design, a simple police uniform but it doesn't exactly scream...authority, you know? So I decided to the push the Police Officer theme a bit more by giving him a vest, a radio, and even some gloves! It's also a nice callback to his friend, Kouhei Sasaki, who also wore gloves before he...well, died. Moving on from his Lore(TM), I rolled up his sleeves, rolled up his pants but still have it so long that it covers his ankles, and changed his loafers to sneakers. I don't know, there's something appealing about a serious, no-nonsense Tsurugi taking his job very seriously...while still wearing jeans and sneakers on the job. It kinda shows that he's still a teenager despite being a police officer even though he's so damn young. Kinda fucked up when you stop and think about that. I also gave him a few scars, not many, but mostly cause they're probably hidden underneath his clothes. Tsurugi has mentioned being in some pretty hostile situations (especially the one that involved Kouhei's death) and I doubt he always got out unscathed, so I decided to put one on each arm: a thin scar from a knife, and a star-shaped scar from a bullet. From there, I toned down the saturation of his color palette, and added more black and gold. Fun fact: the color gold can symbolize reputation, which is hilarious considering how much Tsurugi's reputation sinks during DRA, and how controversial he gets in-universe in SDRA2.

Anyways, Tsurugi is going to start a lot of shit, time to run.
