Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat (1989) - M. Emmet Walsh
There are a few things that come to about this movie and this scene in particular.
M. Emmet Walsh was a vampire in this and what do vampires do. Suck blood, but I more focus on the suck part.
And speaking of sucking, this scene with Walsh on his knees in front of David Carradine.

What I often refer to as “the four essential archetypes” or “the four genders” (vampire, werewolf, cowboy, and pirate) are on like a graph in my mind. Looks like this
Tumblr media
They’re not perfect opposites but they’re pairs that are each kind of spectrums to me? Vampires and werewolves are very often opposed to each other when in the same piece of media. And pirates and cowboys I can’t really explain. Maybe it’s the hats.
Anyway I figured out why I like Bruce Campbell so much

I wish he was a larger part of this movie ok?
I love when hellsings are a bit nerdy because in the og text he was a silly goofy guy that got serious whenever suspicious activity happened. I really love it. Seeing Bruce be more soft is fun, this movie is crazy but that’s fun too

Haley's Horror Recs
It's Sunday and here I am, cranking away horror recommendations, because I love you. mwah.
SUNDOWN: THE VAMPIRE IN RETREAT
Vampire/ Horror Comedy
Reclusive vampires have taken up residence in a small town in the south west. They have a pretty idilic life, but thats all messed up when a human family moves to town, followed by a descended of Van Helsing. Can they keep up their private life, or will the nasty vampires take over?
You should watch if: You like vampire movies AND westerns. You love 80's movies that are so obviously 80's. You love Bruce Campbell ESPECIALLY when he's in full himbo mode.
Available to watch on Amazon Prime, Vudu, Apple TV
(If you like this try; What We Do In The Shadows, The Lost Boys, Renfield, Van Helsing, From Dusk Til Dawn)

one of my favorite things about 2024 was watching most of bruce campbell's filmography, which i used a lot of stills from as warmups through the latter end. here are twelve of them, for your viewing pleasure.
i had so much fun drawing these, truly loved every second. i listened to this album on repeat most of the way, it's so so good.
just wanted to say HAPPY NEW YEAR! and well, he doesn't have a tumblr, but i'd like to thank bruce for being my muse and giving me so many fun things to watch after the clock strikes midnight.
hope you all have a wonderful 2025 ^_^ and let me know which one is your favorite!
