i love your blog and need need NEED to ask you if you have any opinion on this because people were talking abt it on twitter recently. if u don't tho it's fine! just wanna hear your thoughts. someone was talking about moments in kpop that were popular with the ppl but actually shouldn't be because they were designed for the male gaze and the two cbs mentioned were monster by irene&seulgi which, shocked me a bit. but more so the second which was sumni's tail. do you feel like tail stages/mv were designed to appeal mainly to men? genuinely this took me a aback a bit because yeah sure choreography makes sunmi appear extremely attractive and she wears revealing clothes but the power dynamics in the choreo and just in general in the camera movements in her performances during tail always made me think she's actually mocking men more than catering to them? anyways I hope this makes sense. sorry. just read it and immediately thought of u so I came here lol

but besides tail specifically, there is actually something i want to talk about here in regards to how this particular take smacks of an inability to understand basic critical and media analysis theory.

when you say that something shouldn't be enjoyed or engaged with, you imply that there is a should; a 'correct' way to engage or interpret a work. and there is NO correct way to interpret art. a massive problem with social media is that there is a hegemony on moralistic opinions. you have to have a 'good' opinion, you have to like the right things and hate the right things and why. because reasons. because some anonymous icon on the bird app said it was male gazy and therefore that apparently means it's bad. and yea i'm gonna sound like a fucking crank about this but you need to do your own readings. the male gaze is not a code of ethics, it is a theory of media analysis. and theories are tools that are meant to help you better understand the life you live and the ways that you engage with the world. YOU are the one that uses the tool, that makes the choice on when and how and where you use that tool, and also if you take into account the information that that tool provides. it's all about the nuance. unfortunate that the internet went and shot it in the back.

BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA ~

You probably know that BLACKPINK dropped their collaboration with Selena Gomez “Ice Cream”. I have to say that although the song is catchy, it’s not their best collaboration with an international artist *Kiss and Make Up says hi*. The group posted some teaser posters. I was inspired by the first one they posted to announce that their next comeback would be a collaboration with an other artist. I did the pink stripes and the black drips which are in the background.

BLACKPINK was actually the first Kpop group that I liked. I first discovered them with “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du”. Before listening to them, I had this bias about Kpop being a bunch of singers with high pitch voices. I was so wrong. BLACKPINK was my little entrance door to more Kpop artists. I feel like they’re a good way to start especially because their discography is so short lol. What I love about them is their duality that we can guess by their name. They’re really versatile. Also my bias is Lisa, she’s so charismatic and probably the best dancer. 

So I began to listen more Kpop artists like TWICE, Red Velvet, Sumni, Chungha and a little BTS. I’m still a rookie at Kpop as you can see lol. I won’t say that I’m a Kpop stan tho. I was into Kdrama and Kbeauty before so I guess it was about time for me to dig into the Kpop world. I have to say that as an asian girl, it’s really good to see more asian representation in the music industry. I love to see BLACKPINK and BTS making their way into the american market, it makes me proud. Especially because Kpop sets the bar higher than the western artists. Everything is so calculated from the music videos, to the choreos, the outfits and the stages. Also there is something so fascinating about this industry, like how they form group, how the artists have to train for years before debuting and so on.

Road To Kingdom | 5 ~ 7

Finally, we only have the final to go. Thank god, I can't take it anymore

First I'll talk about the collab stages and then the performances themselves. As usual, in the order I mention them it's my personal rank.

Collab Stages

• Pentagon × ONF (covered blackpink's kill this love): now, I know that bitched a lot over the fact that Pentagon was doing yet again a song that one of them had already performed. With that said, this is really good. It was creepy and sorrowful in a way. Hui and Hyujin's vocal combined are just perfect.

• The Boyz × Oneus (covered sumni's heroine): this is a perfect performance in more ways than one. I have never, in all of my years watching reality shows like this, seen a performance in which the artist nod towards the other competitors like that. It was heart warming and over all great. The only reason why this isn't my #1 is because I felt like something was missing, I don't what though.

• Verivery × TOO (covered bts' on): covering an artist is hard enough, now make that biggest artist in your country right now and that bar just gets higher. It's not that this was bad, in anyway, however the arrangement threw me off a little bit in some parts (please know that I don't understand shit about music, it is just how it sounded to my ears). Dancing was good, vocals were okay.

The performances

Fun fact, I can't choose a number one for this. One was simply beautiful and the other was so much fun to watch. I really don't know. So really, I'm just going mention them in the order they aired. Everyone else will be in my personal rank.

• ONF (covered It's Raining by Rain): this performance was just so much fun to watch and they too seemed to have a lot of fun while performing it. Combining Rain and Michael Jackson (someone who probably influenced rain a lot) was simply magical. I love every last bit of this performance

• The Boyz (covered Shangri-la by Vixx): Vixx are kings of concept and this song was one of their best, in my opinion. If i could describe this performance in one word it would be ethereal. It was just so beautiful, all in white with flowers. In the preview for this episode I was worried that juyeon might have gotten hurt but it was a mistake he made. I'm not going to lie, I did notice it but it wasn't big enough that it would jeopardize the entire performance.

• Pentagon (covered Follow by Monsta X): it's good fo finally see Pentagon cover a song they haven't sang yet, lmao. It was good, it was powerful, hui's vocals where just fantastic as usual. The one thing that didn't work as much, for me at least, was when yuto and wooseok did that back and forth thing that I.M and jooheon usually do. There's also the fact that they used Egypt culture as concept... just why guys

• Verivery (covered Gogobebe by Mamamoo): I actually liked it a lot. Aladdin was my favorite Disney movie as a kid, and to this day I loved it. They really did a great job.

• Oneus (covered Be Mine by Infinite): let's talk about a song that has been covered a billion times in kpop and not always it was done this well. I think that after performing lit they started to find their path and I'm happy for them, honestly.

• TOO (covered Hard Carry by GOT7): there was a point in time in which I did enjoy this song, listened to it a whole lot but now I can't stand it anymore. One of the fun parts of it was the never stopping hard choreo which was toned down in TOO's performance. It did seemed like they had had fun during the performance. But I do have to compare them to the others and in this case they did the weakest performance.

Now, you can say "but Sara your rank is just like the one in the show". If you did say that you would be both right and wrong. It is the same as the accumulated rank but not the actual performance rank. Pentagon actually placed fifth in the performance, as you can see in the image below

Their score was 5646, while verivery and oneus had higher scores then them (the fourth column)

When this show started, right in the first episode, because eveveryone seemed to love them I thought that they would place first for sure every single week. This makes me feel a little worried for them. I won't get a lot into it because at this point we all know what went down with them. I'm scared that if they don't make it, it will be the last blow they can take it.

But, not all is lost. For the final, cumulative scores don't count and whoever places first will go to kingdom. I don't know who to cheer on anymore so I won't make bets (but if you have read any of my past reviews then you'll know who it is lol)

Ah, also I did listened to preview of the final songs. I don't have a favorite, some of them just blend together tbh. However onf and the boyz made me curious.

LOONA “So What” analysis and theories

It’s finally time! After rewatching and analyzing the music video for nth amount of times (lol), I’m here to bring you guys my personal analysis and theories for LOONA’s latest comeback “So What”!

So, without further ado... Let’s begin.

(Remember that these are only my interpretation and are not straight up facts. These are just theories that coincide with my personal view on the story of LOONA and the LOONAverse.)

Now that “So What” has finally been released, we have been shown the next chapter of the story of the LOONAverse, as well as a new side to LOONA we’ve never seen before.

So now that the next chapter of LOONA’s story has been released, it’s time to go through the music video and see what is going on.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil

An interesting observation that was made after the release of the “#1” teaser was the focus on certain facial features of the 1/3 girls; Hyunjin’s mouth, Haseul’s ear, and ViVi’s eye. 

It’s been theorized this is connected to the saying “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.”

Well, this may very well be the case for the LOONA girls now that the Moebius time loop has reset again.

Because Heejin was able to break out of the loop, the Moebius strengthened itself in order to keep the girls apart and prevent them from trying to break out again.

Yves, Chuu, and Gowon appear to be in Eden, but I don’t think that’s the case. They merged their worlds together in “Hi High”; they met to become one universe. 

Perhaps this is an Earth equivalent to Eden, a paradise that was made to keep them unaware of the truth of their world. (Think of the phrase “ignorance is bliss.”) Chuu and Gowon are happy and oblivious, but Yves is a “black swan” who is treated like an outcast.

They’ve essentially reverted back to before they ate the Forbidden Fruit and realized their true selves. Again, notice how Chuu is dressed in red (a color representing love) and Gowon in yellow (a color that can represent hope).

Without the knowledge they received upon rejecting Eden, they cannot become who they were truly meant to be. 

However, Yves being shown acting outside the norm (not dressed the same as the other ballerinas) might be a hint to that she’s still vaguely aware of that side to herself.

Odd Eye Circle are separated from each other, and have lost their powers, although Kim Lip’s situation might be different from Jinsoul and Choerry’s.

One thing that was extremely prominent to me in “So What” were Kim Lip’s eyes. Specifically, the color of her eyes. 

She is wearing pale blue eye contacts. And it’s not just in the music video; she is also wearing them in live performances of “So What”.

Now sure, K-pop idols are no stranger to this. In fact, Kim Lip isn’t the only one doing this. Yves has also been shown wearing light colored eye contacts for this comeback.

I also noticed Heejin and Choerry both looked like they had contacts in a couple performances, and I’m sure other members have done this too. But Kim Lip’s eyes have stood out the most.

This must’ve been intentional. This isn’t the first time something like this has been done for LOONA.

Remember the Halloween special stage where five of the members covered Sumni’s “Full Moon”? They had little references to the LOONAverse lore in there, too; notably, in Kim Lip, Choerry, and Olivia.

The concept seemed to be vampires, so everyone had dark red color contacts. Except for Olivia, who had pale blue/silver color contacts.

She doesn’t possess an Odd Eye, but perhaps this is a nod to her “wolf eyes”, aka the red glowing eyes we see in “Egoist”.

Choerry’s right eye, where her Odd Eye is, was a different color from her left eye; a grey blue.

As for Kim Lip, they used special makeup and placed a scar over her left eye, where her Odd Eye is.

Again, this must have been intentional.

But what does this mean for Kim Lip’s eye color in “So What”?

Well, I think that Kim Lip may still have her Odd Eye, but it has been sealed and she’s being prevented from reawakening it. 

It’s unknown whether this can be said for Jinsoul and Choerry as well, since we aren’t given any hints of them possessing their Odd Eyes. It’s possible they might have lost them completely, or if they still do have them, they just haven’t awakened them.

Regardless, the loss of their Odd Eyes means that the three have lost the special connection they shared which defined them as the “Odd Eye Circle”.

Then, we have ViVi, who is seen throughout almost the entirety of the music video with a bandana over her mouth. She’s also shown to be by herself, separated from the rest of the group.

This coupled with her lack of lines when compared to other members’ distribution of lines in “So What”, has to be more than just coincidence. 

Everything in the LOONAverse has a deeper meaning; everything has a reason for being there.

I previously mentioned that ViVi might be going through another kind of identity crisis. She’s not an android anymore; she became a human in “Love & Live”. Yet her expressions in “So What” seem almost robotic.

I believe ViVi has lost something that is vital to her identity; her voice. Because she has lost the ability to speak, she does not have a way of expressing herself and her feelings. 

That’s why she seems so robotic in the music video; she’s been placed in a similar situation to when she was an android and struggled to connect with the others when she first met them. Thus she turns to graffiti as an act of self expression as well as rebellion.

All of these instances show that some of the girls have lost an important part of themselves.

Hear no evil = Blissful ignorance of the world.

See no evil = Loss of connection.

Speak no evil = Restriction of self expression.

Without these vital parts of their identities, they are unable to find each other and realize their true purpose. So Heejin has to break them free, but she can’t do it alone.

Follow me

For this section, I’m going to try and set up the order in which I believe Heejin found the other members after falling back into the loop. This is just pure speculation on my part in order to get a better grasp of the story.

The first girl who I believe Heejin finds is Olivia. The two have always been connected with each other deeply; they were like day and night.

In fact, I think it was Olivia who found Heejin after she fell back to Earth. Think of it as a potential parallel to when Heejin met Olivia at the end of “Egoist” after Olivia had her fall to Earth.

Next, I think Heejin finds Kim Lip. Again, this could potentially parallel to how Kim Lip met Heejin in “Hi High”.

Hyunjin and Choerry have already found each other. They are constantly shown together, mirroring each other.

We see the tuk tuks circling around them, symbolizing them being stuck in the loop, but we also see them get on one of the tuk tuks.

They are taking control of their fate to break out of the loop.

Heejin, Kim Lip, and Olivia find Yeojin (hence we see them together above with the dancers in this scene), but realize Haseul is now missing. They tell Yeojin what has happened, so she starts rebelling at her school to break out of the loop.

(And yes, I’ve seen it been pointed out, Yeojin literally looks like pre-debut era Jinsoul.)

Her actions end up influencing the other students of the school. So yes, Yeojin did indeed start a school uprising. 😆

Next are Gowon, Chuu, and Yves.

We get this scene where Gowon and Chuu are running down the hall together, when Gowon suddenly stops and looks behind her. As if she heard something, felt something, that told her she needed to get out of the loop.

I think this was the moment she received a message, possibly from Olivia, to tell her what was going on and help Gowon regain her memories. She relays the message to Chuu, and later both tell Yves what’s happening. 

Yet again, another potential parallel, like when Yves and Chuu approached Gowon with the offer of escaping Eden.

So Yves starts rebelling as well, dancing freely how she wants to.

Gowon sends out the butterflies again, in order to reach the other members.

Yves joins Heejin and Olivia, along with Hyunjin and Choerry, and find Jinsoul in the subway train.

(Here’s a “blink and you miss it” moment: Olivia rips off the choker around her neck. Just like when she did it in the “XIIIX” teaser. She’s freeing herself of any restrictions.)

The last girl they have to find is ViVi, but they aren’t able to find her as easily. Like I previously mentioned, she’s constantly shown being cut off from the rest of the group, all by herself. Wherever she is, her location is somewhere that the others can’t get to, or possibly even know about.

So, how do they reach her?

A message to ViVi

Throughout the music video, we are given several shots that have a VHS static overlay effect over them. I previously mentioned how the static effect is always associated with ViVi’s memories/dreams, so this gives us a better idea of what exactly these shots we see are supposed to be.

No joke, I went through the whole music video and counted every single time we saw the VHS static overlay effect. Guess how many times we see it in the MV?

1. The chains breaking

2. Shot of ViVi’s face

3, 4, & 5. Hyunjin and Choerry with the tuk tuks

6. The members on the subway train

7. Shot of Yeojin’s face

8. Shot of Heejin’s face

9. Brief cut to static after ViVi drops the spray can

10. The sign reading “Make it burn”

11 & 12. The members on the subway train again

That’s right. We got 12 total instances of VHS static overlay in the music video!

I believe what we are seeing is Heejin and the other members sending a message to ViVi, possibly using something like the cassette tapes, in order to reach out to ViVi and let her know what they’re doing since she’s separated from the group.

Shots #9 and #10, however, I think are ViVi sending a message back, the sign reading “Make it burn” signalling to them that she got their message.

And also serving as a sign to Olivia of what she needs to do.

Burn yourself

In the beginning of the video, we see Olivia standing with a torch on what we can presume is the surface of the moon (the real location is likely the black sand beach of Iceland).

And we are given some very interesting narration.

“Do not accept the fate of the moon. Get off the track. Reveal to the world the hidden side. Burn yourself.”

Let’s break this down line by line.

“Do not accept the fate of the moon.”

The fate of the girls have always been tied to the moon, aka the heart of the Goddess. It was their destiny to meet each other and complete the moon of their world.

Their goal as LOONA has always been to find each other and break out of the loop, but what if that alone wasn’t enough?

“Get off the track.”

The “+ +” and “X X” timelines showed us the unification of the girls with themselves and their shadows, but it’s always ended the same for them. They find each other, and they try to break the loop, but the loop resets and they’re back to square one.

They kept taking the obvious choices they believed would allow them to break free. They need to do something different and cause chaos to break the loop.

“Reveal to the world the hidden side.”

Obviously referring to the back of the moon; the hidden side of themselves that they’ve never shown before. Their shadows, their truest selves that existed deep inside of them.

If they bring that side out, they can find new potential.

“Burn yourself.”

The word “burn” has been used constantly throughout this comeback since we got the first # teaser last year. Fans kept asking the question, what would they be burning?

And now, we finally got the answer.

From the description of “So What”: “It is possible to make different waves more than you can imagine if you challenge yourself with your passion(BURN), and go forward.”

From the lyrics: “Burn your intense heart.”

Deep within themselves, was a fire that was waiting to be ignited by passion. By the desire to break free of everything that held them back. To take control of their destiny; to choose their own fate. To be who they truly are.

And finally, they were ready to burn.

The beginning of the end

Olivia realized what she needed to do in order to break the loop. She was the only one capable of doing it. It was her mission, and hers alone.

“You, who was sent by God. Destroy all things without hesitation.”

Olivia has always been connected to fire, a symbol of destruction as well as purification. And now that we’ve coupled the term “burn” with fiery passion in “So What”, we are shown a second and more literal meaning through Olivia.

What if the only way to break the Moebius loop was to destroy it before it was completed? If they destroy the loop before it can complete itself, then the time loop won’t be reset.

So Olivia does what she has to, in order to free herself, to free everyone, from this curse. She burns the moon, to destroy everything.

The moon, which we associated as the heart of the Goddess, as something the girls were deeply connected to by fate, is set ablaze.

The moon that could not shine on its own without reflecting the light of the sun; the back of the moon which no one knows about.

Now it’s been lit up in flames, burning to shine its own light.

Meanwhile, down on Earth, we see all the members watching as the sky is set ablaze, with balls of fire raining down.

(Even the dance shots, we start to see them!)

We see all the members lit up in red light, representing the fire.

Heejin’s expression in particular really stood out. Her expression is sad, even heartbroken, watching the place she had once flew high to reach, now on fire and being destroyed. But she knows deep down, this will free her and her friends.

And with destruction, there will come rebirth.

The phoenix and Haseul

Like I mentioned in the breakdown for the teasers, what we see in # and “So What” is the destruction and rebirth of the LOONAverse. In order to free themselves from the loop, they had to destroy their old world to create a new one. They had to burn their hearts with passion to ignite that fire in order to be reborn.

In the final shot of the music video, as Olivia watches the flames die down on the moon, she looks down…

And there are two white bird feathers on the ground, burning, and being revived.

It’s clear who and what this represents; Haseul. The reconstruction and revival of the bird feathers after being burned shows that Haseul has been reborn.

Just like the phoenix, who rises from the ashes and is born again stronger than before, this tells us, the audience (and all LOONAs around the world), and Olivia herself, that Haseul will be reunited with the others, and she will be stronger than she was before.

And the same can be said for all of LOONA. Now that they’ve “burned themselves”, they can rise from the ashes, in a new world where they are free to take control of their fate. To reach their highest goals.

Like the phoenix, LOONA has been reborn, stronger. And now, free.

And that concludes my analysis of “So What”!

I was so happy with this comeback and now I’m excited to see what’s next for LOONA and the story of the LOONAverse going forward. There are so many possibilities of where they can take this story, and I am all in for the ride!

The first time she saw you after everything that had happened was at an award show. And it took her breath away, leaving a burning feeling in her chest and a pain in her heart as she tried not to let it show. She smiled when you gave her the award she’d won, pretended that it didn’t hurt to look at you, laughed like nothing was wrong, and, although she was holding back tears, even managed to smile at you before she exited the stage. For everyone on the outside, everything seemed normal. Even though she was falling apart on the inside.

For Sunmi, all she’d thought about through her career was you. The two of you had broken up years ago, knowing that the industry would tear the two of you apart if you didn’t. She needed to focus on singing and dancing, and you needed to focus on acting. But every day, she’d see something that reminded her of you, and she would remember. It was hard not to when you had become successful too, your face plastered everywhere for her to see. The two of you had been in love. True, pure love. And if she was honest, she still loved you. So seeing you in person again that day had made her head spin as the feelings rushed back to the surface, reminding her of what the two of you had.

After the show, she went straight to her dressing room, telling her manager she felt sick. They didn’t know (how could they) that it was only a love sickness, but they still let her go, promising to take her home as soon as some technical things had been finished. As she rested, her head leaning back against the wall with her eyes closed, taking deep breaths to calm herself down, there was a knock on the door.

And, of course, on the other side, there you stood. You looked as nervous and upset as she felt, and for a moment, the two of you just looked at each other before you cleared your throat and handed her a slip of paper.

“This is my new number,” you said quietly, giving her a small smile. “You did amazing out there tonight, by the way.”

“Thank you.” Her heart pounded in her ears as she took the slip of paper, hand trembling. “You did well as a MC too.”

“Thanks, it was my first time but I tried my best.” You looked like you wanted to say more, but someone called your name and your face fell as you looked over your shoulder. “Coming!” You turned back to her, and she watched your throat bob as you swallowed, ears flushed at the tips. “Um, I’d like to hear from you again. Catch up, maybe. It’s been a while.”

She found herself smiling. You still hadn’t changed, not in the way you got nervous, anyway. It was strange, talking to you again, and her heart ached for more. So she tucked the paper into her pocket and nodded her head, even as her stomach twisted and her mind went wild. “I’d like that too.”

Talking to you after so many years was odd. The two of you had grown and matured into adults by now. You had grown into your features, you carried yourself better, and your sense of style had changed. And although you were still the same person deep down, it was going to take a while, getting to know you again. The two of you no longer knew everything about one another, and it would take some time before what the two of you had before could come back.

You had asked her to meet you at a secluded restaurant of a side street of Seoul after a while of texting back and forth, and a few phone calls, and she’d agreed. It was her first time going out to meet someone in a while, and it felt weird to sneak around. But it was also kind of thrilling, and she smiled behind her mask and hat as she slipped out the back door of her building and into her car.

When she stepped inside the restaurant, it was just like you’d said it was: rather small with private little dining booths secluded from the road and any windows. It was an odd time, too, between lunch and dinner, so there was only an older couple there as the hostess led Sunmi to the table.

You smiled when she sat down, and she felt butterflies start up in her stomach, something that she hadn’t felt in a very long time.

“Thanks for meeting me.”

“Thanks for inviting me,” she replied, tucking her hair behind her ears and giving you a smile. “This place sure was hard to find.”

“That’s the point,” you said with a laugh, and she liked hearing it. “I doubt disbatch watches this place.”

“Have you taken anyone here before? I bet this is your go-to date spot.” She meant it as a joke as she picked up the menu, but you awkwardly rubbed at the back of your neck as you shook your head.

“Actually, no. A friend of mine recommended it to me and said it was a good spot. I’ve never been here before.” There was a slight blush on your cheeks as you spoke, a sheepish smile on your lips, and she couldn’t help thinking that it was cute as she laughed. As confident as you’d gotten over the years, you still got flustered over the little things.

“Well. That kind of makes me happy to hear. I feel special.” She flipped her hair playfully, making you laugh.

“You are special.”

“Thank you!”

Conversation flowed pretty easily between the two of you. There was a lot of catching up to do, even after plenty of texting and late-night phone calls after schedules were done, so conversation never hit a stopping point. As the two of you talked, Sunmi noticed that it was still easy to talk to you. It was like talking to an old friend. She still knew you, even if you’d changed a little, in the ways that everyone does as they grow older. And she found herself enjoying your company, feeling younger and happier than she had in a while.

By the time dessert was served, the two of you were comfortable talking with each other, so she wasn’t too surprised when the topic turned to the breakup.

“You know, I never dated anyone after you. I never even thought about it,” you said with a small smile as you looked down at your dessert. Your words make her heart swell with happiness, and she reached over to place her hand on top of yours.

“It’s the same for me. I couldn’t think about dating anyone else because I couldn’t get you out of my mind. It just felt wrong, even though we had broken up.”

You moved to hold her hand, and for a moment, you were quiet, gently caressing her finger, your eyebrows slightly furrowed like they always did when you were thinking. Then, your eyes caught hers.

“Sometimes I wonder, why did we do that? Why did we ever break up?”

“For the sake of our careers.” She felt like she was echoing the words of the past. “For some reason, people don’t like their celebrities to date. And we both wanted to succeed.”

“And we did. But my heart has been broken the entire time.” You shook your head and sighed. “I always regretted letting you go. Even if it was for the sake of our careers. I hated living without you.”

A lump made its way into Sunmi’s throat and she swallowed, willing it to go away and blinking away any tears threatening to overflow as she tried to find the words to explain how she’d been feeling the past few years. “Living without you was hard. I guess that’s why I ended up burying myself in my work. To try and forget. But it didn’t work, because I truly loved you. And I had no closure to make those feelings go away.” She bit her lip, looking down at the dessert in front of her. “But we’re successful now. And we’re older, our jobs are more secure. How bad would us dating be now?”

“Your company might get upset,” you said, but when she looked up, there was a smile creeping onto your face. “But we are both grown adults. And it’s not like we’re going to stay single together.”

Smiling back at you, she felt herself getting giddy once again. “So should we pick up where we left off? It was love, I know it was. And we can have that once again.”

You nodded, squeezing her hand. “It might take some work, but I’m willing to work. As long as I never have to let you go again. I love you, Sunmi.”

She had wanted to hear those words for years, and finally, there they were. And she couldn’t help but smile so wide it hurt her cheeks, happy tears gathering in her eyes as she reached out to take your other hand in hers too. Years ago, she had loved, and been happy. Now, she knew she could finally love and be happy again. And she was not about to let anyone tell her she couldn’t.

“I love you too, (Y/N). I always have. And I’m ready to face the world with you.”

A/N: Aww I love you too dumpling! Yay! My first iKon request! I will do this request justice and write it as best as I can. I’m gonna write this as a headcanon. It seems like the most suitable writing structure for this scenario.

Hanbin

He was at practice when you decided to practice his song “Love Scenario”

You had the song itself down to a T; you just needed to polish up on the choreography 

So, as you moved the coffee table to the side, you put YouTube on the TV and started perfecting the dance

You were so engrossed in practicing that you were unaware of the time that had passed so quickly

Thus, you were unaware of your boyfriend’s arrival

The minute he stepped through the door his eyes found you

A beautiful smile then graced his boyish features as he watched you with amusement

But he was also impressed by your controlled power and agility

You moved swiftly 

Each step was deliberate and delivered with grace

And then, as if he wasn’t swooned by your perfect dancing, you rapped his part with no flaws

Finally, he made himself known at the end of the song, applauding your flawless performance

You let out a shriek; a violent shade of red developed in your cheeks

“Don’t become bashful now, beautiful! That was amazing! You need to be on stage. Not me.”

Once you finished the song, he pushed the door wide open, revealing himself

Your boyfriend was struggling with a certain step in the choreography

Even with Donghyuk’s help, the footwork was getting the better of him

You watched from your spot on the bench

You could see the visible frustration on your boyfriend’s face

Finally, after two more attempts at the dance, Hanbin allowed them a five minute break

Deflated, Yun sat down next to you

You rubbed his back, hoping to give him some comfort

“Do...do you want me to help you with the step?”

Yun looked at you in bewilderment

There was no way that you caught on to the footwork without actually doing it...right?

But, your boyfriend knew you were a fast learner, so he was not about to doubt you now

Surely enough, you did know the footwork well

And you helped Yun out greatly

You broke down each step with patience, moving slowly so Yun could easily follow

By the time the break was over, Yun was doing the footwork repeatedly with no mistake

His members applauded him, causing him to smile with pride

He then gave you a big kiss on the cheek before Hanbin had the boys regroup for another run-through

The bunny smile would come out with full power and adorablness

He would quietly snicker as he watched you dance along to their dance practice for “B-Day”

You were captivating to watch

Bobby’s eyes followed each of your movements, no matter how subtle it was

He almost fell over from silently laughing as he saw you mouthing along to his rap perfectly

It wasn’t until you two held eye contact that he gained awareness

You were more on the reserved side so you were more serene-looking than your boyfriend

You two were on stage, the screams of the boys’ fans deafening your ears

You had to wrestle the smile that was trying to spread across your face into a smirk

You didn’t wanna look too happy during this sexy performance

You tried to avoid eye contact with DK

You were sure your intimidating facade would crack the minute you looked at your boyfriend

As the song was coming to an end, DK took it upon himself to change your ending pose

This boy would have the most arrogant smirk on his stupid (handsome) face

He would have been watching a video you posted on Instagram of you dancing to his group’s song “Killing Me”

The way your body moved with such power and perfection had his heart grow with admiration for you

He couldn’t help but grow fonder of you as he saw your lips mouthing every word to the song

His babygirl/boy was so talented

But it’s only natural that he attracted such a talented human being since he has a lot of talent himself

Unbeknownst to you though was that your boyfriend kept a special folder of all your dance covers

Most of them were you covering his songs, while a small amount were of you doing dance covers to others

His all time favorite was you dancing to “Siren” by Sumni-sunbaenim due to him being able to admire all your curves

But he would never reveal this to you

He waited until he was away on tour with his members knocked out so he could indulge himself in your beautiful movements shamelessly

“My baby is really talented. I mean, they can’t be anything but. Look at who they’re dating.”

You two decided to reveal your relationship to your fans by collaborating on a freestyle

You decided to post the video on Instagram

The dance was gonna be intimate but still very playful

You guys were gonna end the video by sharing a sweet kiss

You were a bit nervous as you guys practiced

Chan assured you that everything was gonna be fine

“We’re in this together, jagi. Every step of the way.”

Once you guys finished polishing a few steps to your choreography, you set your phone up and pressed record

The dance went smoothly

You two executed the parts where you guys constructed a set choreography and then played around in the parts of the song where y’all were to create on-the-spot dances

During the latter you two were close together, smiling at each other lovingly

Then you guys would separate, going back to dancing to your hearts’ content

Once the dance came to an end, Chan spun you into his arms and dipped you

And then as he raised you up, your lips met

The smile that possessed your lips could not be contained as you cupped his cheeks

Once you two parted, you saw your boyfriend was smiling brightly

“I don’t care if our fans don’t accept our relationship. You’re my one and only. I’m not willing to lose you.”

A/N: So it wasn’t until I got to Chan’s reaction that I re-read your request & realized that Chan & DK don’t really fit it. They share the same theme with the others but the plots are noticeably different. Nonetheless, I hope you liked it darling. The writer side of me was just going a little too much with the flow. BTS Reaction to you performing on an award show (Or something like that) but they didn't know.

Kim Seokjin:

Jin knew that you were quite famous but not as famous as them. He didn't know that you were going to be there in the award that was held tonight.

You wanted to surprise him so you didn't tell him that you were going to the award show. Your seat was supposed to be right beside bts so you asked to change your seat but you ended up sitting in front of them with Red Velvet.

Jin noticed that there were more members in Red Velvet but he didn't mind since he thought it was his brain messing with him.

When you were called to perform you tried to cover your face from his as much as possible which made him suspicious. When you were performing Jin was shocked very shocked.

You went to the backstage right after and saw Jin leaning against the wall "So you actually made it and sat in front of me." You awkwardly laugh and he walks closer to and puts his coat on you since your outfit was very revealing.

"Make sure you tell me next time so you can sit next to us instead."

Min Yoongi:

When you went inside you saw Yoongi and tried to ignore him but he could feel your Presence.

Yoongi tried to call you but the problem was you were right behind him and he probably heard the phone ringing. You quickly ran back stage and answered the phone.

"Yes?" You answered "Y/N are you feeling better?" You were about to answer but suddenly the music started playing really loud and that's when Yoongi got suspicious "Sure.. you totally aren't at the show." You told him that you were watching on the TV and you needed to go.

An hour passed and it was your time to perform with Sumni and you were scared since you know that Yoongi doesn't like to see you wearing revealing clothes.

When Yoongi saw you he was not that surprised but he was annoyed with what you were wearing.

After the performance you weren't allowed to changed so you had to just sit back down. You sat down behind the boys and Yoongi was just glaring at you. You mouth him a 'what' and he throws his coat on you. He stands up and sits beside you and says while gesturing you to put the coat on.

"I felt that you were here but I didn't know you would be wearing that."

Jung Hoseok:

"Make sure you watch the show okay?" He tells you thinking that you can't make it "Okay." You were getting your makeup done.

You went there early and organized some things since you were before bts and you didn't want them to see you before your performance.

You went the performance before and wore your outfit. When you performed bts was watching you for a few minutes before they were called.

While they were there you looked at Hoseok who was so shocked you sent him winks and hearts and he couldn't stop smiling.

When your performance was finished bts was at the back stage and they were going to go out in a few minutes. Hoseok hugged you and said

"You almost killed me with all your hearts and winks Y/N."

Kim Namjoon:

Namjoon bought you a dress to wear a few months ago but you planned this 'prank' a week ago.

You knew if Namjoon knew you were here and you weren't wearing the dress he would be sad since he really likes seeing you in a dress so you decided to wear it for your performance.

You were nowhere near bts which was the good thing but the bad thing was you were technically surrounded by boys. Jennie and you were the only girls in that area.

You felt really uncomfortable when Jennie left to perform but you just had to deal with it for the plan. After a while it was your turn to perform so you went backstage and changed.

Your performance finished and Namjoon was really happy to see you wearing his dress. You sat next to Namjoon since there was an extra space beside him.

After awhile you had to perform again and now Namjoon knows You're here he went all out fanboy which made everyone laugh including you. You were laughing and blushing so much and even the mc's found it so cute.

"You see that everyone!! She's my girlfriend!! Go Y/N!! Future Mrs. Kim!!"

Park Jimin:

Your performance was the middle and you were performing Jimin's favorite song of yours.

You saw Jimin and he was just staring at his phone. Jimin was missing you and you are his lockscreen on his phone so he couldn't help but stare.

You felt kinda guilty since I saw how sad he was just looking at his phone. You sat next to Twice and waited for you to get called.

When you were performing you had a little intro before the song starts and you saw that Jimin was still staring at his phone not noticing your performing.

"Yah Jimin!" The others yell at him "what?" He says without taking his eyes off his phone "Y/N is performing! Look at her!" Jin said but Jimin did nothing and he just sighed "Y/N is not here. Stop fooling me because I know she isn't here and-"

Your song started playing and you started singing. Jimin looked up from his phone and saw you performing "but how?" The other members roll their eyes.

You finished and walked to your seat when Jimin grabbed your hand and told you to sit beside him. When you sat down he stared at you for awhile before hugging you

"You could've told me you were coming. I was really sad when you said you couldn't."

Kim Taehyung:

The week before the show you visited him to tell him that you went go to the show even though you were.

"Please Y/N... I'll get you a dress to wear, a makeup artist, a car to take. Please just go to the show with us.." You wanted to laugh so bad but you couldn't.

When you arrived at the show you almost bumped into Taehyung but you managed to get away. Your performance was with Jimin but Taehyung never knew. When Jimin met with you backstage he was so confused.

When you performed you saw Taehuung and you knew he was Jealous which was so cute. You sent him hearts and kisses so he would smile and he would then he would pout again.

When you finished performing you went and sat down next to Bts and all the members greeted you except for Taehyung.

"Sorry Taehyung." You say while poking his cheeks. He pouts and crosses his arms

"You could've just performed with me instead of Jimin Y/N."

Jeon Jungkook:

When you were doing the practice the day before you were quite nervous that Jungkook would see you there since you told him that you wouldn't go to the show.

When it was time for the show the other members saw you but you told them not to tell Jungkook because since he was spending to much time playing games you decided to prank him with this.

Jungkook had no clue that you were here he believed you when you said you were going to a meeting.

You knew that Jungkook would not like what you would be performing. You saw Jungkook getting nervous for no reason.

It was your turn to perform and when you were performing you saw Jungkook staring at you and it made you a bit scared.

You finished the performance and when you went backstage you saw Jungkook sitting there with a straight face. "Hi.." you said awkwardly he didn't answer you.

He stood up and walked to you, he took off his coat, wrapped it around you and fixed your hair. "Jungkook?" You said and Jungkook sighed.

"I promise I'll make it up to you instead of playing computer games just next time tell me the truth. Okay Y/N?" You nodded you head and he hugged you.
