Alright, I decided I'm deleting my RP account since I don't use it anymore and my archived blogs are just bot magnets.

I'll keep my GB sideblog in case I decide to return there some day (give me at least until the next movie to see how I feel about the franchise then). As for my art sideblog, I'll keep it up, but if I post art again I'll do so from my main instead and reblog it there. My main has more followers so hopefully that would get my art more attention.

Here we go again….

This summer LUFC initially retained 31 players who have previously played in the first team.

But then the exodus began….

Marc Roca, Archie Gray, Jamie Shackleton, Kristoffer Klaesson, Charlie Cresswell, Diego Llorente, Glen Kamara, Cody Drameh and Crysencio Summerville were all sold (for a total of approximately £80M). Jack Harrison and Rasmus Kristensen used loan clauses in their contracts to spend another season away from Elland Road. Sonny Perkins, Darko Gyabi and Sam Greenwood were loaned out by the club.

There was far less movement in the other direction….

Leeds signed Alex Cairns, Joe Rodon and Jayden Bogle. Midfielder Joe Rothwell also joined the club on a season-long loan.

This means that we currently have a very small squad (even after three members of the youth team were given squad numbers). Brenden Aaronson and Max Wöber, who insisted on spending the whole of last season on loan, are back at Elland Road, but whether they intend to stay is open to question. The transfer window remains open for another month, so hopefully there will be more incomings and nobody else will leave….

Ethan Ampadu is our new team captain, with Pascal Struijk and Illan Meslier named as vice captains. Georginio Rutter is now officially just "Georginio". The future of Liam Cooper remains uncertain….

Daniel Farke is still at the helm. He did a decent job last time around but it will be interesting to see if he has managed to address any of the issues he's been criticised for:

too much passing around at the back and slow build up play

the lack of goals from our central midfielders

inability to change tactics mid-game when required and failure to make substitutions early enough to give the team the best chance of winning

too much dependence on moments of individual brilliance from key players (especially Summerville, who is no longer here)

the lack of goals from corners and free kicks in the final third

persistent vulnerability when defending set pieces

I'm pretty sure Leeds can finish in the top six this season, but am pessimistic about our chances of clinching one of the automatic promotion spots….

I got a silly thought a while ago. If the Summerville Squad somehow got in a musical episode-type situation, (maybe a curse by a dead musician is placed on the town or something,) who's doing what? Who would willingly just start singing? Who's trying to stay quiet in hopes of, well, not singing? Who somehow has an instrument at all times?

OMG that's such a fun idea!! I'd love a musical themed Ghostbusters story.

I think the ones who become enthralled with the singing would be Callie, Gary, Trevor, Lucky, and most of the townsfolk. They'd be swept up in the happy vibes of the music and probably get a romantic song or two.

Phoebe's the one trying her best to stay quiet. I imagine her being like the guy in Enchanted, being the only one who just doesn't understand why everyone is singing or how they know the lyrics by heart. She's be immune to the curse either because she was out of the ghosts range when the musical started, or through the sheer power of autism™.

Podcast would have an instrument on him for sure. I had the headcanon that he can play the accordion, so we can go with that! He'd be the only one besides Phoebe who's aware of what's happening, but sings along anyway just because it's fun.

I imagine Phoebe would resolve this situation by gathering all her friends and forming a band, using their own music to cancel out the ghost controlling them. Phoebe would have to sing in order for it to work (McKenna Grace can sing after all). This would banish the ghost and bring the town back to normal. I'd like to think the ghost here wasn't evil, it just wanted to help Phoebe gain the self confidence to sing in public.

Now I only wish I had a modicum of musical talent so I could help bring this concept to life!

Leeds United: Meslier, Firpo (Joseph 83), Ampadu, Piroe, Kamara (Roberts 74), Summerville (Anthony 74), Rodon, Gray, Rutter, Gnonto (James 66), Gruev.

Subs not used: Darlow, Cooper, Shackleton, Byram, Gelhardt. Leeds United fans really need to have other things in their lives that they can depend on, and make them happy, because in crucial games like this one the Leeds team is always likely to let them down.

Fortunately I have a lot of happiness in my life, and I've also got used to days like these over the years. This is the sixth time we've taken part in promotion playoffs and we've failed to get promoted every time, even though we've got to the final four times. Leeds have yet to score a single goal in a playoff final….

Although Southampton finished one place below us in the table, they were the only side to beat Leeds home and away this season and definitely looked like a better footballing side. And because I didn’t expect us to win at Wembley, I’m not too disappointed….

I also have mixed feelings about the Premier League. Things have changed so much since the turn of the century that I don't see any way for a team like Leeds to get back from where we are today to where we were then. And being Premier League cannon fodder is no fun at all. So the prospect of another exciting season in the Championship isn't so bad.

In this game we started brightly but failed to make a breakthrough and then faded. Yet again our build up play was too slow and predictable, and we were wasteful in front of goal. The Saints managed to keep Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Willy Gnonto reasonably quiet throughout, and after weathering the early storm they looked like the better team and consistently posed more of a threat going forward.

Adam Armstrong put Southampton ahead midway through the first half, and it proved to be enough to win the tie.

Neither side was able to create many clear cut chances, but we definitely looked second best until Daniel Farke made his first substitution, replacing Gnonto with Dan James, who looked much more lively. But when his 85th minute shot came back off the bar, I knew it wasn't going to be our day. A low strike from James deep into stoppage time was also well saved by the Southampton keeper, and despite United’s best efforts, their defence stood firm until the final whistle….

It has been a great season overall, although it started and finished badly. I've seen some awesome games and really enjoyed watching this team play. Next season's squad might be substantially different, but we should be able to compete for promotion once again. It took Marcelo Bielsa two seasons to get us back in the Premier League, so I hope Daniel Farke is given another chance. He has his limitations, but we have to be realistic about the calibre of manager that a Championship team can hope to attract. When Farke was appointed, the club was in a state of chaos and for the first few games the team was well below full strength, so he deserves some credit for keeping a cool head during difficult times and getting 90 points, which is almost always enough to ensure promotion.

I'm sure it will be an interesting summer....

My preview for this weekend’s Premier League games. This is the last weekend of Premier League before it pauses for 2022 World Cup. They could of very easily done without Premier League games this weekend with it been so close to the start of the World Cup. With England squad just announced for the World Cup, the players will not want to get injured this weekend.

Manchester City vs Brentford

Man City will be looking for another home win this weekend but will have to do it without Kyle Walker as he is still out of action. It will be similar to their last game against Fulham as Man City will have all the possession and Brentford will be tough to breakdown. Erling Haaland will be looking to improve on his incredible tally of 18 Premier League goals against Brentford. Brentford will have Ivan Toney back from suspension for their trip to the Etihad. Brentford’s plan will be to frustrate the home side and take advantage of Toney’s height at set-pieces. Score prediction 2-0

AFC Bournemouth vs Everton

Gary O’ Neill was disappointed after they let two goal leads slip in their last two Premier League games against both Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United. They have been scoring a lot of goals lately with scoring five goals in their last two Premier League games and scoring four in their third round EFL Cup game against Everton in midweek. Everton changed their whole team for their defeat in the EFL Cup but will be looking for an improvement at the Vitality Stadium this weekend. Everton were poor in their last Premier League game against Leicester City and will need to start picking up points soon before been dragged into a relegation fight. Score prediction 1-1

Liverpool vs Southampton

After partnering company with Ralp Hasenhutl, it is now a new era under Nathan Jones at Southampton. They will be looking for the bounce of a new manager as they try to hit Liverpool on the counter attack this weekend. Liverpool won three games in a row in three different competitions after beating Derby County in the third round of EFL Cup in midweek. Mo Salah returned to his best after scoring twice against Spurs and will be looking for another double against The Saints. Trent Alexander-Arnold is brillant going forward and will look to hit Andrew Robertson with his incredible Crossfield passes again this weekend. Score prediction 3-1

Tottenham Hotspur vs Leeds United

Spurs are in bad form and keep going behind in matches before they start performing. Spurs are light in attacking options as they are without the remarkable Son Heung-min until after the World Cup. Leeds have won their last two Premier League games which includes a fantastic comeback win against Bournemouth at Elland Road last weekend. Leeds will look to play on the counter attack against Spurs through the pace of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto. Score prediction 1-2

Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace

Palace will be looking for their second away win in a row after winning late on against West Ham last weekend. Palace will be looking to finish in the top ten of the Premier League before the break for World Cup. Forest got a great win against Liverpool have struggled since then by getting beating 5-0 against Arsenal and got a late draw against Brentford last weekend. With been at home they will be looking for the extra home advantage and support. Score prediction 1-2

Newcastle United vs Chelsea

Newcastle have been fantastic this i due to the transformation of Eddie Howe as manager. He has got the best out of his players as Miguel Almiron has scored eight goals in 2022/2023 Premier League. Chelsea need a result after conceding five goals in their last two Premier League games against both Brighton and Arsenal. Raheem Sterling has been up and down since joining Chelsea but he needs to have a good performance if The Blues want to win at St James Park. Score prediction 3-1

Wolverhampton Wanders vs Arsenal

Wolves have appointed a new manager in Julen Lopetegui but will not take charge until after the World Cup. You might remember that he left Spain on the eve of 2018 World Cup to take Real Madrid job. Wolves are still in the relegation zone and have a tough match against Arsenal this weekend. Arsenal have been remarkable and have got some great results at tricky grounds such as Elland Road, Stamford Bridge and Selhurst Park. They are more resilient this season due to the arrival of William Saliba and this weekend will be another win for The Gunners at Molineux. Score prediction 0-2

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Aston Villa

The bounce of a new manager has worked as Unai Emery won his first Premier League match as manager against Man United. Ollie Watkins is Villa’s best striker and Emery will do well if he gets the best out of him in front of goal. Brighton got their first big win under Roberto De Zebri as they beat Chelsea 4-1 in their last home game. Lisandro Trossard has been outstanding this season as he has scored against Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea. Score prediction 2-1

Fulham vs Manchester United

The final game before the break is the clash of Fulham and Man United at Craven Cottage. Marko Silva has done a successful job at Fulham as they are comfortably inside the top half of the 2022/2023 Premier League. Fulham will be without their top scorer Aleksander Mitrovic for this game and this is a big blow for the home side. Man United have been inconsistent this season and that continued in their defeat at Villa Park last weekend. Man United got a great comeback win against Aston Villa in an EFL Cup third round game and Marcus Rashford is in great form coming into this game. Score prediction 1-3
