phoebe / @rebelliousfamily liked for a starter.
β who told you that joke? β peter is curious. his heart skips in his chest, uncomfortable with the memory under provocation.
back in 1973, he'd taken a seat next to the resident geek in class. and he'd gotten peter with the exact same joke. he missed his best friend.

πππππππππ - γ π°π΅ππ΄ππ»πΈπ΅π΄ π°π½π°π»πππΈπ . γ ββ my headcanons involving purgatory are inspired on several texts across all cultures , the most prominent influences come from the ancient egyptians , angelicans , wiccans , tibetan buddhism and voodoo . i am looking to do an essay on purgatory that threatens to be 60 google docs long , but right now , these are bullet points so people are aware what i'm talking about until i actually get around to such an intense sit down .
the common relation that the above concepts have in common is personal journey ; it's about self discovery and purification of the soul . from there , i take my own route and go ham -
purgatory is a place to sit down and think about the life you lived before hand , EVERYONE goes there - no one misses out , to the devout nuns to the murderers that never got caught . it's a necesity for the soul and spirit to partake in the system in place ; it isn't a place to be feared , not at all ! it's simply what must be . it's a place to deal with the baggage that we carried in life - it's a place where we deal with the traumas that we never confronted when living , the things we repress deep down and ignore and go about life . it's about forcing the soul to look at that and deal with it , to make us lighter . purgatory is about healing , growing and becoming better - to acknowedge pieces of ourselves that we usually wouldn't .
when a soul is sent to purgatory ; their first experience of it is where THEY feel comfortable . for example , a person's faviroute hang out when living might be an open field where they used to hang out with their friends , another their childhood home , perhaps a city for those who felt connected to night life . it's a place for them , to have peace and to be comfortable and a place to go where it all feels too much . the goal is to get the spirit to heal , purgatory is not a walk in the park and it will bring out the worst in people ; just like therapy in the living realm , to have a place to settle when it gets too much is a must for progress to happen , after all healing is the most exhausting journey someone can do .
everyone has demons , this is where you face them - there is no god demanding you to do something , to prove your worth so you can enter enternal bliss . each path is a projected image of the subconscious ; faced with personfications of your deepest desires , ugly secrets , darkest traumas and it's about accepting , hugging and letting go of those parts of you . it's about looking these things in the eye and deciding the person YOU are , if you ran from these things in life , you have to look them in the eye - it's a must . the soul going through a deep cleansing is a ritual of its own , the journey is decided by the individual , not some floating god in the sky.
if you were in therapy BEFORE dying and began working on yourself , it actually makes the journeys a little easier because you've mentally prepared yourself to disect yourself . people alive don't give themselves credit over how much control they actually have in the after life , the more you sort out alive , the less you have to deal with when you move on . you're soul , right there , has already began the healing process ; what's left is closing the door and stepping away .
you can meet other souls there , too ! those on a similar path , at least . you can also meet other spirits that act as guides that have been in purgatory since the beginning , workers that help keep things in order , nobody is alone and there are things to keep you from going insane . they will not hold your hand , but they will push you gently on your lower back and guide you in the right direction so you can figure it out yourself . you can also meet ansestors that have already moved on , have help from your bloodline so you can take advice and comfort from familiar faces / familar energies .
also this is random but a fun hc to all this is that you can see planets pass by in certain areas of purgatory ; up close and personal , no problem . jupiter , mars , those undiscovered by humans and have no name . coraline probably has a little slideshow in order each day of which will appear where because its cool ok .
#not my best writing but that's why we call it a starter of points to build off of OIHSDFOIHSDF#headcanon.

@summerville-squadβββ asked Β β β ... β β β (( π’- to take the gang to an amusement park? If you like ^_^ -summerville-squad )) β
π·π΄'π πΌππ²π· πΎπ»π³π΄π π½πΎπ. the last time he visited coney island -- lord knows, it mustβve been some forty five years ago. but he promised the kids a true tour of his old stomping grounds in brooklyn, and what kind of tour would it be without coney island.
to his great surprise, peter quite enjoyed himself. he sat back on a bench, kept an eye on the ghostbustersβ mini-meβs and soaked in the best of what the new york city sun had to offer. but naturally, as was the case with most things in his life, it did not last.
agreeing to go on one ride, and one ride only, peter allowed himself to be dragged to whichever coaster they chose. he should have known it would be the biggest.
he stared at it, comically deadpan in his disposition, and gulped,Β β i always hated coney islandΒ β
