Library E.S x FEM! reader
Tumblr media
Overture- You got called in to pick up a shift at the library when you met the most unusual guy. But then he runs away.
CWs- Mentions of Ghosts, reader is described as wearing a skirt, one use of y/n
A/N- First Egon Spengler fic, and I'm super excited about it. Second of 32 fics for October
You’d gotten called in for a shift at the library on your day off for what felt like the thousandth time, but today was actually interesting. The elderly librarian who so often judged you for your choices in outfits, music, and anything else– had seen a ghost. Whether she did, or had simply gone crazy, you were curious.
You got there, set your stuff down, and were immediately glad you came in. You’d yet to see the mess waiting downstairs, one you’d have to reorganize, but it was someone in particular who caught your attention.
A bit older than you, but most definitely your type, sitting criss-cross on the floor of the New York public library. He had something on his head resembling a stethoscope, but more intricate. While you wouldn’t call him intimidating per se, getting up the nerve to talk to him would be difficult. That was, until your boss came up to complain about your new fascination.
“Hey, glad you could come.”
“No place I’d rather be.” You gave him a sarcastic, overly cheesy smile to drive the point of how unhappy you were to be here again.
“Well, the big boss called some people from the university to come check on the ghost situation, mostly just because Alice has been freaked out for the better part of two hours, and he wanted her to finally stop crying. But since the resident shusher is out of commission, I’m going to need you to go tell that man he can’t sit on the floor in the middle of the aisle, and do whatever that is. Thank you.” He walked off, leaving you to do it without any complaint. You hated him for it. Not only did you now have to talk to the cute guy, you had to scold him? Every second you were regretting answering the phone more.
You wandered over to him, nervously fixing your hair and clothing while you walked towards him.
“Excuse me sir?” He didn’t even look up when you called out to him and you decided now may just be your only chance to make an impression. You fixed your skirt before sitting down, legs pushed to the side, but otherwise matching his posture. That finally got his attention, and he finally pulled the stethoscope off his head so he could hear you.
“Hello.” You weren’t sure if he was nervous or disinterested, but you steeled yourself to maintain customer-service levels of peppiness.
“Hi. May I ask why you’re sitting on the floor?”
“I’m trying to get a PKE reading on everything in the building, to accurately predict supernatural activity in this area.”
“Ok, may I ask for a version of that answer suited for someone who hasn’t had a science class since high school.”
“I’m just taking measurements to determine a baseline before my colleagues get here. We were hired by the director to come inspect the grounds after an incident this morning?”
“Oh ok, you’re one of the guys from the university! My boss sent me over here, he thought that you were just hanging out in the aisle.” You gave a small point to your boss, who was already staring daggers at you.
“And here I thought you were just curious.”
“Oh believe me, I was. Still am.”
“Well I’d love to tell you about this, anytime.”
“I’d like that. Once you’re done with your job, come find me? I’m here all night.”
“Okay.” If you didn’t know any better, you’d think there was a blush on his cheeks. You got back up, brushed off your skirt, and went to send your boss over.
But the next time you saw him it was after a loud crash, and he and his colleagues were fleeing from the building as quickly as possible. Not exactly swoon worthy, but the way he nearly fell flat on his face while running did bring its own charm.
You were convinced you’d never see him again, until you went to unlock the library doors the following week. There he was, in a full suit, with a duffle bag slung over his shoulder. This time he was definitely blushing, but so were you, seeing him waiting there.
“You’re back.”
“I am. I brought some equipment I’d like to test on the apparition, if of course, that’s alright with your bosses. I apologize for leaving last week, we needed funding for some new facilities and hardware.”
“I appreciate it, it is Doctor Spengler right? We never really got introduced.”
“Yes, I’m sorry again for not coming back sooner…Y/N” you tilted your head at him, because you were certain you hadn’t mentioned your name yet, and you couldn’t figure out how he knew. Until you happened to look down and catch the plastic ID badge hanging from your neck.
“Oh right. Name tags.” You took a moment to just settle into the embarrassment before starting again.
“I can walk you downstairs?”
“Are you sure your superiors are ok with it?”
“They’re not here today, so it looks like you’re stuck with me.” You gave him a cheery smile, and just a hint of puppy dog eyes. You really wanted him to ask you out, and the more time you spent together, the more time you had to make it happen.
“Al-Alright.” You walked him down the hall to the elevator, and as soon as you arrived at the basement, he turned to you.
“I think you should go back upstairs. This is highly experimental equipment, and I’m testing it on an apparition with full skeletal structure.”
“Sorry, can’t. I am to not let you leave without filling out paperwork, after last time. I don’t know if you noticed, but it is kind of trashed down here, and they’re pissed about it. But I can start by just reorganizing the card catalog, so I’m out of your way?”
“Alright. But stay over here for your safety, ok?”
“You got it.” You held your hand up to say ‘scouts honor’, and you thought you were home free, until he came back. He’d only gotten about 5 steps away before he turned back around and fished in his coat for a plastic cup.
“There may be ectoplasm there, if you could please collect it in here for further testing.”
“If this is an attempt to get me to give in and leave, it’s working.”
“Please?”
“Yeah, yeah, go catch your ghost and try not to make too much of a mess?”
“Don’t you have janitorial staff?”
“Yeah but I have to organize all the books that end up on the ground.”
“Maybe don’t come back here for a while, then. There was an incident with a bookshelf earlier.” And then he just—walked off? No explanation, nothing.
You got through 3 drawers of the card catalog, and collected a Petri dish full of what you hoped was ectoplasm, trying to ignore the loud crashes and yelling, before you saw Dr. Spengler again. He looked terrified, and was holding a smoking box.
“Oh! Wow-uh, is that supposed to be happening?”
“Probably.”
“Reassuring, thank you Dr. Spengler.”
“I don’t think I can leave this in here indefinitely, I may need to postpone doing the paperwork for your superiors.”
“That’s—it’s fine, don't worry about it. Here’s your stuff, by the way, just come back later today?”
“Definitely. And would it be— would it be possible for me to ask you—on a date…with me?” He looked like he regretted saying anything, but you were all smiles.
“That would be great, how about you pick me up here in a few hours?” After nodding, blushing, and a quiet ‘alright’ he started to turn back towards the exit, making it about 2 steps before coming back.
“I do feel compelled to tell you that I’m not—fun. Or at least from what I hear.”
“Thank you for the warning but I think you’re very fun.” You put the same emphasis on the word to drive the point that you really did think so.
You both stood there just looking at each other for a moment, before your eye was drawn again to the box, which was now smoking even more.
“You might want to—um, before it sets off the fire alarm?” He looked back down, and the terrified look from before came back, and he started walking backwards towards the exit, keeping his eyes on the box the whole time.
“I’ll see you tonight” you called out for him before he turned around, and his face split into a shy smile, before he gave you a wave goodbye.

Tumblr media
* i watched the newest GB today...and i just-had to. enjoy~*

Jane walked the aisles of Auradon prep’s library, carefully putting away the magic history books she had taken for her study night with Lonnie, humming slightly to herself. Not noticing that several books behind her head began to shuffle around, moving from shelf to shelf. She perked up as she saw a shadow pass by her vision and she looked to her left, spotting a book that was in the wrong spot. Jane pursed her lips; some people just had no respect; she took the book and put it back in pirate history where it belonged.
Turning again and continuing down the shelves, once again not noticing books moving, and then the drawers of the book catalog just next to her started to open as she passed by them, cards suddenly flying out at rapid speed. Jane paused, then slowly turned eyes widening in fear; she took a step back, calling out for Mal; “Mal!!! This isn’t funny!” she cried out, her voice wavering as the shelves slid violently forward and cards flew everywhere. “Mal?!?!” no answer, and Jane suddenly remembered Mal was in class right now, including Uma, and any other magic users that would use their magic to prank anyone like this were either not on campus or were in class! Jane screamed as a growl came from the bookshelf next to her, turning and running aimlessly down the aisles trying to find an exit as she panicked. She desperately turned each corner, hoping to find a way out and not encounter whatever was scaring her.
But alas-Jane turned another corner and screamed, her hair flying back as a gruesome purple sheened ghost roared at her, its eyes void of life and jaw wide open. She turned and ran, bolting straight past Lonnie and the other library-goers; Lonnie stared at her in shock before she looked back where Jane had come from, screaming as she spotted the specter. The librarian and the other students stood and ran as it floated towards them at high speeds, the ghost cackling as the doors slammed shut behind the last soul ran out the door.

“WE GOT ONE!!!”
-
Mattie woke up to the sound of her phone going off, Leo turning in their chair to glare at her as the mock siren echoed through the room. Mattie picked up the phone and tapped the answer button, holding it up to her ear as Leo crossed their arms, waiting for her to tell them what the call was about when she hung up. “y-yeah, hi grandpa…uh-uh…really? Here?...well-um, yeah they’re in the closet still…yes it’s all working…how much?...holy shit…okay, we will; bye-love you too”
Leo raised their brow as Mattie flopped back into her bed, sighing loudly, then sitting up “we got one, here, in the library”
“What a coincidence” Leo drawled, leaning back in their chair “our first official mission was the same kind as theirs, library ghost and all” Mattie hummed and nodded, shuffling out of bed and walking over to the closet, smiling as she pulled open the door “you ready?”
Mattie pulled out the proton packs, tilting her head as she grinned “Let go bust some ghosts”
-
Ben stared at the library doors nervously as a loud racket resounded from within, the specter- that was confirmed by both Uma and Mal not to be magic -was causing some havoc, and he had just called the legendary 'Ghostbusters' but they were all the way out in new York, and it would be days before they finally got here. So they sent two Auradon based workers to the school, telling him they were the best of their newest generation of ghostbusters.
And Ben learned, these two; went to the same school as him! He had been in class with both of them before and he didn’t know it! He had no clue which ones they were but-still, grandchildren of the legendary Egon Spengler and Ray Stantz; this would be very interesting.
“move out of the way! Ghostbusters coming through” Ben turned, the crowd of students and faculty splitting as Leo and Mattie came through the crowd, both wearing tan jackets with the ghostbuster symbol on the sleeves with large metal packs on their backs. Mattie smirked at him as Leo moved to stand in front of the library doors, an odd device in their hands that had to metal ears that glittered with lights and moved up as Leo moved about the frame.
“Mattie, it’s in here” Leo muttered, stepping back as Mattie nodded, turning to Ben.
“just a small warning, might blast a few books out of existence” Mattie laughed, making sure the wiring on the trap was set “the proton guns pack a wallop.” Ben nodded, hearing the stories of how they, the og ghostbusters, had destroyed an entire ballroom with the guns. Mattie nodded with a smile and walked over to Leo, who pushed open the doors.
The two stepped in and the library doors closed behind them, and then suddenly from behind the doors bright lights emerged; orange, white, purple, and blue. After about five minutes they stopped, smoke slowly starting to slip through under the door crack. Ben pushed to the doors, the students crowding around trying to see inside.
Then the doors opened, both Mattie and Leo stepping out, Mattie holding the smoking trap in her hands “we got it!” Mattie laughed, snickering at Leo who’s left side was covered in a slime “Leo got slimed~”
“it’s not even a class 5 vapor” they muttered, flicking off a bit of slime from their fingers “how did I get slimed?” Mattie just laughed again, handing off the trap to Leo who started making their way back to their room to set the ghost into the holding chamber.
Mattie talked to Ben about the bill, speaking on behalf of her grandpa's partners, and assured him that there was automatic damage insurance for him to use to help repair anything in the library “yeah” Mattie nodded back towards the doors, and Ben saw a shit ton of scorch marks “told you, those Proton guns pack a shit ton of a punch” Ben bit his lip as he noticed the destroyed bookcases and burnt books “yeah….luckily the more valuable books are in the back, and we kept it contained in the front end of the room to make sure to minimize the damage” Mattie muttered, writing up a check and handing it to him “usually Amy does the check stuff so-don’t get mad at me-please” Ben looked down at the check and chuckled, 5k eh? Not too bad (he was a king he was gonna have a shit load of money)
“no problem, thanks uh- Mattie right? We’re in science class together?” Mattie nodded and shook Ben’s hand.
“yep, I’ll see you tomorrow” Mattie walked back through the crowd, waving to the adoring students as they called out to her, a couple even having some of the GB merch.
Ben grinned, that was cool; meeting the children of his childhood obsession. He looked back down at the check and sighed, hopefully, there wouldn’t be any more ghosts for them to bust, or this 5k was going to go from a small price to him needing to sell his crown.
-end-
Was originally going to be a full-on hhxr but that idea went bleh to me so now it’s a lil oneshot with som oc’s, Mattie Stantz (Rey’s granddaughter) and Leo Spengler (Egon’s grandchild) peter and Winston do have grandkids, they are just not seen :3

Violet x Ray - Christmas
This is a self insert fanfic about how my s/i and Ray spend Christmas.
“Are you sure this looks okay?”
It was the night of the Ghostbusters’ holiday party, Christmas Eve. Violet and Janine were at Janine’s apartment, getting ready. Violet stepped out of the bathroom to show Janine the outfit she had picked out.
“You look so adorable!” Janine said. “I think Ray won’t be able to take his eyes off of you.”
Violet blushed, but her eyes still wandered over to the mirror to look herself over again. She was wearing a form-fitting Mrs. Claus costume, a two-piece dress she had the idea to wear after Ray volunteered to dress up as Santa for the kids at the party. The red skirt of Violet’s outfit was short and tight, but it came high up on her waist, covering up her lower stomach. Violet ran her hand over the soft part of her belly, squishing it as she turned to the side in front of the mirror. “Are you really sure? My stomach isn’t exactly flat.”
“Yes, I’m sure,” Janine came to Violet’s side, wrapping her arms around her to squeeze both her shoulders. “You know Ray likes you just the way you are, right?”
“Yeah, I know…” Violet knew Ray loved her body, soft belly and thick thighs and all, but dressing up for just him and dressing up for him and everyone else in attendance were two different things. “It’s not him I’m worried about. What will everyone else think?”
Janine shifted so she stood between Violet and the mirror. “Screw ‘em! If they can’t see how cute and hot you are, that’s their problem.”
Violet smiled at Janine, but still reached down to pull at her top, which fell to just below her ribcage, leaving a tiny bit of skin between it and the top of her skirt.
Janine took her and Violet’s coats from the coat rack, and put Violet’s coat over her shoulders. “Now, c/mon. The guys will be here to pick us up soon.”
Violet put her arms through the sleeves of her coat. “Okay! Don’t forget the presents!”
-
Two weeks earlier, the aisles were crowded as the two women walked through the mall, lists in hand. Though Janine was trying to keep Violet on task, she couldn’t stop the little brunette from wandering to every shop window.
“Oooh, look at this!” “This is neat!” “Do you think Winston would like this?”
“If you keep this up, I’ll have to put you on a leash.”
Violet had told Janine that she wanted to go Christmas shopping with her because she was so good at shopping and knew how to get everything she wanted, and on sale. Violet did the Hanukkah shopping for her gifts to Janine and Egon on her own, and while the presents themselves were great, Violet had spent way too much money. Janine wasn’t going to disagree. She just wished Violet would listen to her.
“Hey, can we go to the comic book store next? I need to find a present for Ray!”
“I thought the gifts you bought at that toy store you dragged me into were for Ray.”
“Yeah, That’s the downside of shopping for gifts for Ray. He’s the easiest for me to shop for, but all the stuff I know he’s going to like is also stuff that I like! All the toys and stuffed animals I got there were so cool I might just keep them for myself.”
“Well, what are you going to get for Ray at the comic book store?”
“Hmmm…” Violet checked her list. “The new limited edition Captain Steel gold plated action figure, the Melvel Comics Superhero Weapons Encyclopedia, those vintage Marcy Mouse comics…”
“Those are all things you told me you wanted for Christmas!”
“Oh yeah…” Violet thought about it for a second. “Well, I’ll decide later if they’re for me or for Ray!”
-
It was an hour or so into the Holiday party when Ray snuck away to get into the Santa costume. The party was being held in an old manor on the outskirts of the city, built sometime in the Colonial Era. The only reason the Ghostbusters were able to use the old house in the first place is because in October, they got rid of a ghost that had been haunting the place for years. In lieu of paying them actual money, the managers of the estate offered them one night to use the manor however they wanted. It was Ray who agreed and decided they would use the one night to host a holiday party, and he had been excited about it ever since. The manor was ancient and rustic, with giant wood beams in the high ceilings and fireplaces made of old stone in every room. Although not all of the Ghostbusters were particularly satisfied with the arrangement, they all had to admit the place was perfect for a holiday get together.
Janine winked and nodded at Violet from across the room, and Violet took that as her cue to follow Ray upstairs. She took off her coat and knocked on the door of the room Ray went into. “Santa? Are you ready?”
The cutest Santa Claus Violet has ever seen opened the door. If he hadn't been wearing a huge fake beard, she might have seen Ray’s mouth hanging open, but she could still see the blush on his cheeks and the tips of his ears. She smiled, feeling her own face turn red, as she held out her hand to him. “Come on, the children are waiting for us.”
It took Ray a full five seconds to register what Violet had said. He had forgotten all about the children, and the party, and the fact that he was currently in a full Santa costume. He couldn’t think of anything but how perfectly gorgeous his girl was, standing in front of him in that sweet red dress and those red and white striped socks that went up to just below her bare thighs, her red satin gloves, the smile on those bright red lips that he would kiss over and over again if it weren’t for the fake beard he was seriously regretting putting on right now. When he finally came back to reality, he put his hand in Violet’s. “Right! Yeah! Let’s go!”
Ray spent the next hour being the most wonderful Santa Claus anyone had ever seen. His sweet, child-like demeanor was perfect for being Santa, and he gave every child a chance to tell him whatever they wanted to say to him, reassuring them that they were all such good kids and they would get what they wanted for Christmas. But every time one child left his lap and right before the next one came to him, he would sneak a peek at his Mrs. Claus, who kept the children occupied while they waited in line. Every time he did it, the next child would be greeted by a very rosy-cheeked Santa. Meanwhile, Violet found herself very distracted. She couldn’t help but watch her adorable boyfriend being so sweet with all the kids. These moments really reminded her of everything she loved about Ray. Her Ray… so kind-hearted… so genuine in his enthusiasm… such positivity glowing from his very soul…
Honestly, she could hardly contain herself. As she watched him give another happy little girl a hug, she couldn’t help but wish the line would move faster so she could take her place on Santa's lap.
-
It was late in the night, and all of the children had just gone home for the night. “Santa” had waved them goodbye as they left. Once she was sure they were gone, Violet wrapped her arms around Ray’s neck. “You were so good…” she was kissing him, all over every piece of skin that wasn’t covered by fake hair. “Such a good Santa, so amazing, do you want to come upstairs with me? I love you…so much…”
And then she was leading him up the stairs again, and pushing hih through that door, and locking it behind her. And then she tore off the fake beard, and the wig, and the big red coat. “I love you, I love you, I love you…” over and over as he lay her down by the fireplace.
-
The next morning, they were at the firehouse again. They exchanged gifts very early, because Ray insisted on waking up at 6am to exchange presents. Violet gave out all her presents right away, and admittedly, most of them went to Ray.
“Wow! The new limited edition gold plated Captain Steel action figure, the Melvel Comics Superhero Weapons Encyclopedia, and all these vintage Marcy Mouse comics! Plus all these stuffed animals and toys! You know, I’m surprised you didn’t keep some of this for yourself,” He laughed.
“Nah, I wouldn’t do that. Even better than getting all those things, is seeing how happy you get when I give you all those things!”
She kissed him sweetly on the cheek, and he kissed her, long and slow, on the lips.
