#cw rape#<- ill explain in tags but i dont want someone to see the fun post and go read the book w/o knowing that it includes that#okay though. so. ghost walker was interesting#i liked that the characters were so well done and there were a lot of mentions of what the crew does when theyre not on duty#sulu likes horror movies! uhura and chapel do puzzles together! riley and chekov play that game that old people like! they hang out togethr!#i just love that kinda stuff#also! disco reference (i know its tas reference but. whatever. i miss disco let me have this)#the actual plot of the book was really good tho#another kirk out of body story. please stop doing that to him#and the villain alien was interesting as a character i enjoyed his scenes#and the love interest helen was GREAT i really enjoyed her as well#However. abt halfway thru the story she does get explicitly raped by the alien inhabiting kirks body and it is awful#please know that if you want to read this bc i didnt know and was pretty shocked#other than that i actually really liked it#tos#captain’s log#trek books
