Poly!Marauders x Reader
—thinking about being hot, sweaty, & sticky in the middle of the night w the marauders
*ੈ✩
Of course on the hottest night of the year, your air conditioning had to break, causing your home to rise to temperatures what felt like 30 degrees. Inside, while you were trying to get a good night's rest.
You cursed your past self for agreeing to sleep in the middle with Sirius, his arm around your waist and James on your other side half on top of you. You peeked over Sirius to look at Remus in envy, as much as you loved that Sirius chose to inflict his affections on you, your body temperature was becoming unbearable, sweat beginning to form on your body.
You lay there and considered your options, push James off of you, or shove Sirius’ arm off of your middle. Both options would be nice but you knew the quickest choice to get at least some relief would be to get Sirius’ arm off of you.
You grasped at Sirius’ wrist and began to pry him off of you when he clutched back on. “Sirius,” you whisper yelled, “You’re awake?!”. He laughed quietly, “Course I am, how can you sleep in this heat?”
“Well get off me, I’m severely overheating”
“No”
“No?!” You began trying to get his arm off again, shrieking when he rolled on top of you.
“What’s wrong?” James asked rousing from the movement and your voices, he sat up and felt around for his glasses.
A laugh came from the other side of the bed “They’re just messing around”. “Remus,” you said, finally pushing Sirius off of you to sit up and look at him “You’re awake too?”
James, who finally got his glasses on, turned to look at you “I was too, couldn’t fall asleep, it’s way too hot”.
You felt slightly betrayed at that, “So you two,” you gestured between James and Sirius “thought it was a good idea to transfer your sweaty body heat onto me while being consciously aware of how hot it is?”
“How can body heat be sweaty?” Sirius asked, and before you could utter your annoyance James joined along in the teasing “Not sure, Moony you know”.
You all looked at Remus who simply responded with a small laugh and a shake of his head. “Everyone needs to go to sleep, and get off y/n”.
“Thank you!” you exclaimed, “I don’t need you two mauling me all night”
Sirius shot Remus a look and James made his discontent with your words clear “I love you, can’t I hold you?” You fought the urge to roll your eyes and instead brought your gaze to where Sirius was crawling into Remus’ lap. “If we can’t cuddle y/n we’ll cuddle you” Sirius smirked, nuzzling his head into the crook of Remus’ neck.
James immediately got on board with this suggestion and set his sights on using Remus as a human pillow the way he used you, manoeuvering himself around you until he could flop on Remus and Sirius.
“Really,” Remus groaned but made no effort to remove the two men clinging to him “Can’t you two go one night without needing to touch someone?”
“Y/n is the worst for that!” James accused you. You ignored him and instead took over his prior sleeping spot, splaying out as much as you could in the small space.
“Here,” you said, reaching out to the cuddle-puddle that is your boyfriends “You can hold my hand”.
James quickly grabbed your hand, and, to your overheating horror, began tugging you toward them all, “James!” you laughed, trying and failing to get away from his strong grip.
You huffed as he turned from Remus and Sirius to hold you in his grasp.
“There we go,” he said softly, brushing his hand down your cheek, “now we can all go to sleep”
“What?!” You exclaimed, “This is literally the same situation we started in!”
“No,” Sirius drawled, “Now Remus gets to be involved”.

hiiii!! I’m obsessed with your writing and I had a little idea for doctor!remus x reader… I hope you like it 🫶
But maybe doctor!remus needs to check reader’s pulse, so he puts he’s hand on her neck, and she gets a flustered and her heart starts beating faster because of it? And then Remus simply running his fingers on her neck after?
I don’t know if this makes sense, but I hope it does!!! Have a good day/night!! Sending lots of love
-☀️
Thanks for your request, have a good day/night as well <3
doctor!Remus x fem!reader ♡ 473 words
Your legs are covered in goosebumps. You’ve never really understood why they keep doctor’s offices so cold, if the cold is supposed to be so bad for your immune system. You’d suggested that Remus just write down that he’s seen you and you’re doing fine, but apparently your check-up has to be, like, official and on paper or whatever. Bet they didn’t think about your poor, cold legs when they made that rule.
“Look straight ahead,” your boyfriend instructs.
You do, and he shines a small flashlight in one of your eyes, then the other.
“Perfect, lovely as ever,” he determines, clicking it off.
You lower your eyes. “Shut up.”
“Why would I?” His hand grazes your chin, and you tilt it back up to look at him. Find amused amber eyes boring into yours. “I’m just getting your pulse,” he explains.
You hum. Remus’ fingers settle into a soft spot underneath your jaw. It seems an oddly intimate touch to be sharing at his work. He doesn’t seem to notice, only looking down at his watch, but you’re suddenly overwhelmed by the feeling of his fingertips pressing into your skin, his closeness to you. A thick pause follows.
You notice his tongue poking into his cheek first. Then his eyes flicker up to meet yours, lips curling. “Your heart’s going awfully fast, dove. Can you think of why that might be?”
You take a breath. “No.”
“Really. No clue at all?”
“You’re the doctor.”
“Well,” Remus lets his fingers slip from your pulse point but doesn’t remove them from your neck, resting just above your collar, “it could be any number of things. It’s not usually serious, don’t worry. Most often I find it’s some sort of heightened emotion.”
“Huh.” You swallow. “I don’t think I’m having any of those right now.”
He chuckles, sliding his hand around to cup your nape and sweeping his thumb over the side of your neck. “Easy, darling. No need to get worked up.”
“It’s your fault,” you huff, both besotted and bitter when his smile grows.
“How so?”
“Your hands are too nice.”
You look up as you say it, and it has the desired effect. Remus flusters, lips parting as his eyes go to his own hand as though to check it hasn’t changed.
“I’m serious,” you go on. “I hope you’re wearing gloves with your other patients, because those things are a hazard to the job.”
“Alright, that’s enough out of you.” He rolls his eyes, unable to keep from grinning as he trails his touch back to the front of your face. “Think you can behave for another few minutes so I can sign you off on a clean bill of health?”
You smile back at him, but relent. “Sure. What’s next?”
“I’m going to feel your lymph nodes.”
“Oh. Then, no.”

JAMES POTTER AND SIRIUS BLACK.
Good lads, great company, and even better matchmakers. Who wouldn't want to spend time with them? The two boys were always full of energy, their laughter infectious, and jokes just rolled from their tongues as naturally as breathing. You could be certain that boredom was a foreign concept in their presence.
That's what everyone thought.
Remus Lupin, however, isn't everyone.
To Remus, James and Sirius were more than just pranksters and school celebrities. They were his closest friends, brothers in all but blood, and the kids behind some of the most outlandish escapades Hogwarts had ever seen. Remus saw behind the facade of their shared humor and carefree attitudes. He understood the deeper layers of their cores — the loyalty that bound them together, the masked fears and insecurities, and the stupidity and courage that defined their actions.
James Potter, with his tousled hair and round glasses, had a heart as big as the Quidditch pitch. Sirius Black, with his roguish good looks and devil-may-care attitude, possessed a sharp intellect that clashed perfectly with his rebellious nature.
Yes, to the outside observers, James and Sirius appeared to be the life of the party (which they were) but to Remus, they were the definition of family.
Even though they certainly knew how to fuck things up.
ONE
"Just listen to us, Moony! This one will work out, me and James planned it for . . . one week, is it? Just trust us!"
Sirius Black's voice was brimming with enthusiasm, his gray eyes twinkling with the unspoken promise of yet another grand scheme. As these words left his mouth, Remus felt a surge of frustration well up inside him. His hands itched to do something else than the dishes — but he resisted the urge to punch the oldest Black brother. The sheer absurdity of the situation was almost laughable. This wasn't the first time his best friends came up with a plan to help him with one of his many problems. Some of their previous attempts had actually worked out quite well. But there were also unsolved problems that Remus had learned to live with, issues he simply couldn't — or wouldn't — allow them to meddle with. Like this one.
"Exactly, mate! We're not doing this just for fun, you know. We're doing it just for you, because as you can see, we know you don't have the courage to tell [Name] how you feel. And we wouldn't be suggesting this if we didn't think it had a real chance of working."
Remus nearly dropped the plate he was washing onto James' head. Did they really have to put their noses into his personal matters? It wasn't that he lacked the courage — he told himself that repeatedly — but the timing just wasn't right. And he had came over to James' house to enjoy the Christmas holiday in peace, not to snog off his best friend's face.
But once an idea comes into a marauder's head, it won't leave until it's out for the world to see.
Just Remus' luck.
The warm, soapy water cascaded over his hands as he resumed scrubbing the plate, trying to focus on the boring task before him rather than the frustration rushing through his system. Sirius's words carried in the air again.
"It was originally planned for Evans, but she wouldn't be as cool with it as [Name]. You know how they both are! Evans would try to hex James' ugly face first, then mine. And [Name]? Well, it seems like you just have to find out, mate."
You just have to find out, my arse.
"Look, why can't you just keep this thing as it was first planned? I'm sure Lily would appreciate the opportunity to snog James' stupid face," Remus said, his voice tinged with the frustration he felt. James made a noice that sounded suspiciously like a gasp and opened his mouth to protest, but Remus ignored him and kept going. "Okay, maybe not for the next ten years, but one day she surely would."
“For the record, my face is unbelievably handsome, thank you!”
The oldest Black brother crossed his arms across his chest, the rag he used to clean the dishes dangling from his hand and making a puddle of water beside him. James glared daggers at it. "You see, even if you politely declined our offer to bring some spice into your already boring life, we can't take no for an answer. We spent our free time searching up a single spell in the library. A bloody library, Moony! So, no. If you and [Name] don't kiss by the end of the Christmas, this prank will be considered unsuccessful, which is something the Marauders don't do."
Sirius' eyes held the same look of determination they had when Peter confidently told the rest of the group that he, Sirius Black, was going to win the snogging bet they made in their fourth year. Remus hadn't liked that gaze then, and he certainly didn't like it now, because he knew what it meant. Peter had won that bet. Which just means . . .
Remus saw his short life flash before his own eyes. This was not going to end up in the way he would like to. A bad, no wait, a horrible idea. But before he could do something to save himself from the coming catastrophe, the whole point of the prank entered the kitchen with a lopsided smile on your face. The boy always thought you were pretty. A pair of eyes that seemed to brighten up whenever your favourite topic is being talked about. A warm smile that makes Remus feel the comfort you gave to him. He wouldn't need to drink Veritaserum to admit that he fancied you.
"I just finished unpacking my stuff, so if you want to do something together . . ." you trailed off, looking into their eyes with an inviting gaze. Remus awkwardly moved his gaze away, heart pumping against rib cage.
James, being the little shit he is, nudged Sirius with a knowing smirk and nodded his head in the direction of his room. "Well, it looks like our job is finished here, doesn't it, Padfoot? We should help Moony here to unpack his trunk. Come on."
Before the werewolf could do anything to stop his two best mates, James grabbed Sirius by the crook of his elbow and ran into his room, leaving the pair of obvious friends alone in the Potters' kitchen.
You looked around, a little surprised by the sudden reaction of James and Sirius. Remus stood next to the sink, drying his hands on a rag. "That was new."
"Yeah, it was."
You leaned over the table, a playful glint was dancing in your eyes. "So, they left to unpack your trunk, huh? I wouldn't let them do it if I were in your place, because I know how much of a messy person James Potter can be. Sirius does look like one too. I've seen your dorm," you let out a laugh that Remus quickly joined.
"You're not wrong. Last time they helped me unpack, I couldn't find half my things for a week. They think it's hilarious to hide my socks in the most ridiculous places."
A playful twinkle sparkled in your eyes at the sudden memory. "Well, at least you know where to find them when something goes missing. I once found a pair of James' socks in the Astronomy Tower. Still haven't figured out how they got there."
"You know," the boy started, but his dark eyes caught the green and white blur above your head, and his breath hitched in the back of his throat. They really had the guts to do it! A spring of mistletoe hung precariously above you, clearly placed by James and Sirius.
Thinking quickly, Remus took your palm in his and met your gaze again. "You could help me unpack my things, so I know where they are and all that stuff you need to know about unpacking."
With a nod, you let him took the lead. "Okay, Remus. I'll save you from them."
Remus was going to kill these two.
TWO
The weather seemed to understand the friend group's wishes for snow, much to their excitement, prompting them all go out and mess around in the white blanket of cold snow. They couldn't charm snowballs yet, and the ice on the lake next to the Potter residence was a bit thin for their liking, but it was fun either way. Laughter and shouts of excitement filled the crisp air as they chased each other, fell into snowdrifts, and made the most of the wintry day.
When they returned home, it was already dark outside, and four mugs of hot chocolate were waiting for them, accompanied by Mrs Potter's cheerful face. The warmth and aroma of the sweet liquid welcomed them inside, melting away the chill from the frost.
James and Sirius, their energy finally exhausted, soon trudged off to bed after they finished their cups, leaving Remus and you to linger a bit longer. The house was quiet now, the only sounds the gentle cracking of fire and the occasional creak of the old wooden floors.
If only it could be like this every day, Remus thought to himself as he sat on the couch beside the fireplace. The flames radiated warmth, and with the mug in his hands, everything felt nice again. No stressing over studying, no thoughts for the upcoming war. He was in his own bubble, praying it wouldn't break at any given moment.
In his lap lay an opened annotated copy of a book you had given him as a Christmas present in your fourth year. He had read the book many times, and each time he found something new that caught his interest. It was like a never-ending story he never planned to finish.
"Hey, Remus."
The sudden sound of your voice and the feeling of your frame settling next to him, a knee brushing against his tight, made him shut the book with unnecessary force. The boy could feel your eyes on the side of his face so, he turned to meet your gaze, brown meeting [eye colour].
Remus had really pretty eyes. The rich brown seemed to melt in the warm room like the sweetest chocolate you had ever put on your tongue, with hazel sparks dancing in them. His eyes held something you couldn't quite put your finger on — a mystery, just like his person. But there was one thing you knew for sure: you would find comfort in them no matter the situation.
As you looked closer, you noticed faint freckles dusting his cheeks. Had they always been there? The gentle smattering of the constellation added to the roughness around his scars, making him appear even more breathtakingly beautiful. You found yourself mesmerized by the little details of his face, each one telling a story of its own.
Remus decided to talk first. "What are you doing here? Not that I mind, I'm just wondering. It's pretty late, you know," after those words left his mouth, Remus felt like a total fool. Merlin, talking with you was getting more difficult since he realized he liked you more than a friend should.
But when he saw your lips curving into a smile, he knew he hadn't messed up. "Can't sleep. It's hard to do so when you have to sleep on a different bed."
"Yeah, I can understand."
Once the comfortable silence fell upon the two of you, Remus wanted to stay like this as long as possible. Life with you in it, even after Hogwarts, would be like a dream come true. You could adopt a cat or a dog together. Remus had always wanted a pet . . . The thought of a future with you filled him with a warm, hopeful feeling.
Suddenly, you were standing on your feet in front of Remus, the book no longer in his lap. Instead, you were holding it open, reading the first words he had written on the front pages. He could feel his neck and ears start to warm up, and he was sure it wasn't from the unfinished hot chocolate.
"Nice book you got here. Must have been a nice present, don't you think?" You were teasing him, he knew it from the glint in your eyes, and you seemed to be enjoying it, too. So, he played along.
"Oh, I don't know, would you be surprised if your friends bought you a book when they see you every morning reading them?"
"This one must be your favourite, as the front is starting to lose its colour."
At the further mention of the book, Remus forgot about the teasing at took it from your hands. "You should read it, [Name], it's a really . . . ," he trailed off again, like he did yesterday, and it started to confuse you more and more. His eyes were looking at something above your head, too. Was the moving photo of little James framed behind you that interesting?
When you started to turn and look, Remus quickly turned you to face the direction of the kitchen and pushed the half filled mug with warm liquid into your palms. "I want more of that. Could you help me make it? Thanks, [Name]."
Remus was ready to push James and Sirius onto the thin ice tomorrow.
THREE
Remus didn't like packing. First, he needed to pack at least a day or two before leaving so he could sleep without overthinking, but he did overthink it anyway. Did I pack everything? I think I had more stuff when I got here . . . He usually spends half of the train ride worrying about things like this; the rest was joking around with his friends and saying goodbye for the summer. And second, he didn't like leaving. The places he went to — whether it was Hogwarts or the Potters' — had a special place in the depths of his heart. The only comforting thought in his head about it all was that he would come back.
With a sigh, he started to pick up his jumpers from the Gryffindor-themed rug James had in his room. They had spent their first Christmas together when they were twelve, and the boys slept in separated bedrooms to Mrs Potter's wishes. She wanted them to have their own privacy (they shared a dorm at school, after all), but as time went on and she realised her boys wanted to be together, the witch let them do as they wanted. You got your own room as this was your first holiday here.
As much as Remus thought about the task being annoying and gloomy, it was kind of relaxing to his mind into something else. James and Sirius hadn't tried anything on you two in the last few days, which worried the werewolf a bit. What were they planning? It wasn't like them, giving up on something they were so determined about.
At a knock on the door, Remus put his just-finished folded socks into his trunk and went to open the it. It couldn't be James and Sirius, and the adult Potters had gone for a walk into the village, which just leaves . . . you.
Oh.
Remus opened the door and revealed, in fact, your glowing face. His eyes took a look at you, and he found himself thinking how pretty you looked.
Your nose and cheeks looked like they were freezing, but it somehow made your face glow. Your beanie covered half of your forehead, and there was a huge spot of unmelted snow on it, probably thrown at you by one of the Marauders. But your eyes still caught his attention first. They showed your real emotions, and you were happy right now, which made Remus feel happy too.
Your smiled reached the corners of your eyes. Remus liked your smile. "Hi! Knew I would find you here. As you can probably see, we are having a snowball fight and I was wondering if you wanted to join me? James is being a git . . .”
Remus couldn't help but chuckle at your enthusiastic invitation. The idea of being outside with you, engaging in a playful snowball fight against his brothers, sounded far more appealing than packing his things. He also knew that if James was being a git, he'd have to intervene to keep the playing field fair.
He listened to you, he really did, but his attention was drawn by the green plant, dangling from the doorframe above your heads. However, this time you followed his gaze and saw what he was always searching for.
"Oh."
Before he could regret what he was about to do, his hands found your cheeks, and his eyes focused on yours, not bothered by the cold that started to reach his palms. "Can I kiss you?"
Your eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, the world seemed to stand still. The heartfelt laughter of James and Sirius outside faded into the background, leaving only the two of you in that small, shared moment. A soft smile played on your lips as you voiced your inner desires.
"Yes, Remus, you can."
You placed your hands on the back of his neck, your fingers tangling in the soft hair at the nape, and gently pulled him towards you. Your slightly cold lips met his warm ones, and the contrast sent shivers through both of you. The sensation was intoxicating, a rush of emotions and sensations that made your heart race. The warmth from his mouth spread through you, melting away any lingering cold from outside.
Remus's hands slid from your cheeks to cradle the back of your head, his fingers doing the same thing as yours, threading through your hair. You could feel the slightest tremble in them, a sign that he was just as affected by the kiss as you were.
When you finally pulled back, your foreheads rested against each other, and you took a moment to catch your breath. Your eyelids fluttered open, and the look you shared was one of pure emotion. His brown eyes, now darker with desire and something deeper, gazed into yours with a mix of awe and admiration.
It felt like a core memory of your new found relationship was forming, one that will be forever treasured and reminded with nothing but adoration.
Remus was glad about the whole mistletoe prank but the boys will not hear a word from him about it. They were right, the Marauders won't let a prank go unfinished.

Confined Spaces
-`♡´- pairing: Poly!Wolfstar x Fem!Reader
-`♡´- summary: The idea of a quickie in a closet had been a tantalizing thought at first. But the reality of trying to fit three adults into a broom cupboard led to a cruel reality check.
-`♡´- contains: kissing, fondling
-`♡´- warning: suggestive themes (nothing too explicit but still 18+), mentions of tight/confined spaces
-`♡´- word count: 1k
-`♡´- a.n: i didn't feel like writing smut but decided to write about a quickie in a closet without the quickie. i don't know either
The cupboard was small. Too small, really, for three grown adults to squeeze into comfortably and do anything other than stand there. The faint smell of dusty cedar lingers in the air, mingling with the earthy scent of Remus’ cologne and the sharp, slightly sweet tang of Sirius’ favorite hair pomade. A single light bulb above flickers briefly, casting shadows that were far too dramatic for the occasion.
Sirius Black, of course, had thought of this brilliant idea.
“C’mon, it’ll be fun,” he’d said earlier, with that trademark smile that could convince you to do just about anything. The proposition—a quick shag in the closet—had seemed thrilling, spontaneous, and utterly tantalizing at the time. Shamelessly, you hadn’t even hesitated to agree.
Remus, on the other hand, had hesitated plenty. His brow had furrowed deeply, arms crossed over his chest as he’d regarded Sirius with the air of someone evaluating whether the juice was worth the squeeze.
“This is by far the stupidest idea you’ve come up with,” he’d muttered, and yet he still followed the two of you inside. Because no matter how stupid it really was, he couldn’t say no to either of you.
And so, here you all were.
“Well, this is rather cozy,” Sirius says brightly, wedged between you and Remus in a way that left no room to breathe. He stood angled slightly toward the door and facing you, his left shoulder brushing against Remus behind him. He was practically vibrating with excitement – his mercurial eyes darting between the two of you like he can’t decide who to kiss first.
“Cozy?” Remus mutters. “I can’t feel my ribs. Someone’s elbow is digging into my side.”
“That’s me, sorry about that.” You laugh, trying to shift without toppling the precarious balance of limbs and bodies. Every movement would seem to send someone else stumbling in the cramped space.
“You two have absolutely no sense of adventure,” Sirius teases, leaning in toward you with a sly smirk. His hand brushes against your hip as he nuzzles your neck, his hair tickling your cheek. His warm tongue traces a ticklish, shivering path on the side of your neck. “Live a little.”
Remus sighs audibly, his breath warming the back of Sirius’ neck. “Living a little doesn’t usually involve being crammed into a broom cupboard like misbehaving teenagers.”
“Speak for yourself,” Sirius quips, turning his head to glance at Remus over his shoulder.
He fumbles with the buttons on your top for a moment. His enthusiasm is contagious, and you can’t help but laugh as his fingers miss the buttonhole twice before finally getting it. His hand trails up your side, pausing just above your bra before squeezing your breast. His free hand reaches back to tug at Remus’ tie – which had gotten snagged on something – to pull him closer. His lips find yours for a moment before he breaks away with a grin.
“Merlin, you taste good,” he murmurs against your lips, then making an attempt to capture Remus’ mouth next.
Remus tilts his head away just in time with a grunt. “Sirius, would you stop pulling my tie like that? I can’t—damn it, now it’s caught again.”
Stifling a laugh, you watch as Sirius – undeterred – tries to yank the tie free, only to accidently smack Remus’ face.
“Oi!” Remus exclaims, trying – and failing – to step back, only managing to hit the back of his head on a box.
“Sorry, Moony,” Sirius says quickly, flashing the man a sheepish smile.
“You’re like a hurricane.” You reach out to steady yourself on Remus’s arm as Sirius shifts his weight again. You meet him with an open-mouthed kiss that melts into laughter when you accidentally tug on his hair in a not-so-sexy, clumsy manner.
“Excuse me for being passionate.” He shoots you a wink before turning his full attention back to Remus, who looks like he was about five seconds from strangling him—with his tie, no less.
“Passionate or not, you’re standing on my foot,” you remark pointedly, trying to wiggle free from his weight.
Sirius glances down apologetically, lifting his boot just enough to release your poor toes. “Better?”
“No. You’re still too tall.”
“I'm with her.”
“And what are you, Moony?” Sirius scoffs. “A very dainty giraffe?”
“This isn’t going to work,” Remus complains, though he makes no move to leave. Instead, his large hand squeezes one of your hips, stabilizing you as his lips brush your temple.
“We’ll make it work,” Sirius says confidently, nudging his nose against Remus’.
He steals a kiss from Remus, effectively silencing the sarcastic remark that was surely forming on his lips. You stand on your tiptoes and kiss the corner of Remus’ mouth before finding a tender spot on his neck, gently sucking at the sensitive skin. You lift your head as your ears catch the sound of a small metallic clink of Sirius undoing Remus’ belt. One of Remus’ hands goes to cup the side of his boyfriend’s face, moaning into his mouth as you gently stroke him through his boxers. Still wanting to keep his tongue in Remus’ mouth, Sirius attempts to blindly take your shirt off.
“Careful, Padfoot,” you warn with a smirk.
“Oh, come on,” he groans dramatically – his other hand flailing to find something to steady himself on. His palm lands on a precariously balanced shelf, which wobbles ominously.
“Watch—” Remus starts, but it was too late.
The entire shelf rattles, sending a cascade of mismatched scarves and random knickknacks raining down on the three of you. The room erupts into laughter as you all try to shield yourselves from the minor avalanche. The giggling was infectious now, none of you able to take the situation seriously anymore.
Still giggling, the three of you finally managed to untangle yourselves from the small room. You stumble out into the open space of the room, blinking at the sudden brightness and stretching like you’d just escaped a prison.
Your hair was a mess, Sirius’ shirt long-lost, and Remus’ tie was still hanging on for dear life. None of you cared.
“That wasn't so terrible. Maybe we just need a bigger place?” Sirius throws an arm around both you and Remus.
“Not a chance, Black.” You snort, swatting at his arm. “No more closets.
“I second that.”

Prompt 11 - Home
@jegulus-microfic November 11, Word count 563
Previous part First part
Regulus cringed internally as he followed James, Sirius and Remus down the flight of stairs and out into the pouring rain. He had no idea what had possessed him to suggest the art show, but here he was clambering into the back of James’s car— apparently, Sirius had called eternal shotgun years ago—and on their way to the gallery on the other side of town.
“So when did you get into painting then?” Remus asked pleasantly while James and Sirius argued over what music they would put on.
“Oh, er, I think I always liked art. Our house was full of dusty old oil paintings, and I was fascinated by how the artists had made it look like the eyes were following you. Took me years to figure out how to paint them.” Regulus answered, going into far more detail than he usually would with someone who was basically a stranger, but something about Remus made him want to spill his guts. He was so calm and sincere that Regulus had a hard time not trusting him.
“Wait!” Remus gasped excitedly. “You know how to do that?” Regulus nodded. Remus grabbed both of Regulus’s hands in his and earnestly asked, “Can I commission a portrait of myself with the creepy eyes? I want to put it in Sirius’s office to freak him out.” Remus leaned conspiratorially. “He’ll hate it, but he won’t take it down in case he upsets either of us,” Regulus decided there and then that he was going to be very good friends with Remus Lupin.
“You pay for the supplies, and I’ll do it just for the knowledge that Sirius will wig out every time he sees it.”
“Deal,” Remus grinned at him mischievously and then grabbed the phone Sirius had plugged into the car’s speakers and put on NSYNC, to which two unhappy moans chorused from the front seats. “They both hate them, and I take great joy in singing the songs word for word as loudly as I can, so I’d cover your ears if I were you,” Remus warned before launching into ‘Bye Bye Bye’. Regulus grinned widely, loving how Remus was torturing his brother, not so much James, but this was just too much fun. He did something he never thought he’d do and he joined in.
“I know that I can't take no more. It ain't no lie. I want to see you out that door. Baby bye bye bye.”
“Oh gods, there’s two of them,” Sirius complained as he put his hands over his ears. Remus leaned forward and prised Sirius’s fingers away from his head as the last verses started playing and sang loudly into the gap he’d made.
“Bring it home Regulus!” Remus beamed, still holding Sirius’s hands away from his ears. So, Regulus did what he was told. He shuffled forward and scream-sang.
“Don't really want to make it tough. I just want to tell you that I've had enough. It might sound crazy, but it ain't no lie. Bye bye.”
“We’re here,” James said as he pulled into the car park and found a parking space. He turned to Regulus with the most dazzling smile. “You have the most beautiful voice, my love, shall we go look at your beautiful art?” Regulus felt the blush coming before the heat even hit his face. James was a total menace.

Gilded Constellations | (wolfstar x reader)
Series Masterlist | Previous episode
Pairing: Wolfstar x Reader Word Count: 8 K Warnings: Graphic descriptions of violence. (Reader discretion is advised). Prompt: You'll get even... This IS a wolfstar x reader fic, but it's incredibly slow burn. They won't start all dating each other until we're very deep into the story, but I promise the long wait will be worth it.
Chapter 25: I’ll Get Even With You
Thursday, November 25th, 1976
The boys had walked you through their plan step by step, it wasn’t going to be easy, and it required a lot of technical skill to be performed, but it wasn’t impossible. You gave them a few suggestions here and there, you yourself had already been pondering different revenge ideas in your head and together you managed to come up with a rather elaborate but hopefully foolproof plan.
Remus and you would work on the potions since you were best at them, and you would prepare them that very night, since, as Sirius said “There is no time to lose, we need to strike and we need to strike fast. They must know it’s retaliation for what they did.”
James and Sirius would be in charge of charms, spells and hexes, and Peter would do recognizance, making sure the coasts were clear before you snuck inside the Slytherin common room to prepare every single one of the things you had in store.
The planning job they had executed so far was truly astounding, and if this level of meticulous preparation was standard for all their pranks, it was no wonder they were renowned for their incredible feats. Clearly, this wasn't just some fleeting idea that had occurred to them in the shower; it had been meticulously crafted. It bordered on madness and teetered on the edge of hazardous. The exhaustive list of steps might have deterred even the bravest Gryffindor, and yet, despite all these elements, there was an undeniable thrill to it, an unmistakable, electrifying excitement that pulsed through every aspect of the plan.
As you looked at the list of steps, you marked all the things that you’d be doing, you had to memorise it and burn the page after. You had to leave “no evidence,” Peter had whispered.
One time he had been caught with one of the plans and everyone had been put in detention for an entire month, from that moment on, they had made one of the key steps of all of their plans to memorise everything. You thought it made sense and started to drill all the steps in your mind, even the ones that didn’t concern you, just in case.
By midday, and as you were walking alongside the boys towards Magical Theory, you had already memorised and burned the parchment the boys had given you. James, Sirius and Remus had their heads so close together as they were whispering about. Peter was right in front of them, he decided he’d walk all the way to your class even if he had to be late to his own. And you? You were right in the middle of them all. Sirius had grabbed you by your good arm and pulled you in closer gently so you could be part of the conversation.
It was weird, to be in the planning rather than just a spectator from the side, giving them enough space to discuss their things as you always had. But not anymore, even Peter had been welcoming and willing to let you in on absolutely every single detail of the plan. Yes, it might have been a little different, but it was definitely the good kind of different, you liked being a part of it. Even more now, since it was your own little revenge.
Of course, you wouldn’t do something that would really harm the Slytherins, not like they had done to you at least. You were aware neither of them knew about Remus, so when they threw you in the Shrieking Shack, they really had attempted nothing more than to give you the hell scare of your life. “The most haunted house in England”, one of them had said.
The only person that actually knew about Moony was Severus, and even if he had been a total asshole, he had also gone and told Lily about it, which had ultimately saved your life, since she had been the one to tell the boys. Either way, he could have also stopped them from being stupid and suggested a different thing, but he did not, so the fact that you had almost gotten bitten by Moony was also his fault. Which was exactly why he wouldn’t get scot-free either.
Even if the Shrieking Shack had actually just been a haunted house, the worst thing they had done, would have been the fact that they pushed you around, hexed you a couple of times, manhandled and threatened you, which is nothing they wouldn’t have done in the school, so you all had to carefully plan something that held the perfect balance.
The prank couldn’t be too dark or harmful, just enough to teach them a lesson, so that they learned that throwing people in haunted houses and attempting to scare this shit out of one of them was a dreadful thing to do. Which is why your prank had mainly consisted of something of the same nature.
“So you’ll talk to him about it?” Peter asked.
“Yes, I think I can convince him.”
“You sure?” James asked, “It’s pivotal for the plan that we get help from one of the–”
“–Yes, I’m sure. Most of them already know what happened, Myrtle ran her mouth through their own little circle.”
“Thought you were friends with her,” Peter said.
“I’m as much of her friend as you can be,” you said with a shrug “but only the close circle knows, and I asked her earlier today to give him a message, I’ll meet him later near the Perfect Bathrooms, I’ve heard they’re empty rather often.”
“You can meet him inside if you want, I’ll give you the password,” Remus offered.
“She can’t meet him inside the bathrooms, it’d be inappropriate!” Peter argued.
“How would it be inappropriate Wormmy?”
“Well you know, people might talk and…”
“As if Myrtle didn’t spend half the time there too,” Remus huffed.
“But that’s–“
“Hold up! How do you know Myrtle spends half the time there?” you asked, looking at Remus in disbelief.
“Well, I’ve seen her there, plenty of times, logically.”
“While… bathing?” you asked again, rather hesitant.
“She can be very meddlesome, yeah.”
“And she’s never told me?!”
“Didn’t you say you weren’t that close?” Sirius said, arching an eyebrow.
You weren’t really listening “Oh Godric! The gossip she must have seen in those bathrooms.”
Remus turned to you now “What do you think happens in those bathrooms?”
“What do you think doesn’t? Unsupervised, private bathrooms the older students have access to?”
“Oh…” Remus said in realisation.
Sirius nodded “Yeah, I can confirm things happen there,” he said casually. You gasped and swatted him in the side, it was as if he had forgotten he was talking to his girlfriend with whom he had not gone to the bathrooms… yet. “From hearing about it,” he clarified, at least an octave higher as he rubbed the section you had hit him on. Drama queen, you thought, didn’t even hit him half hard.
“So… you want the password?”
You thought about it for a second “Yeah… I guess it comes in handy, just in case…” you said. Sirius gave you a suggestive look.
“Ugh mate, at least try and keep it in your pants!” James said, pushing Sirius to the side, causing you to tumble against Remus’ chest, who held you in place and arched an eyebrow as he looked at you from his higher stance, he seemed amused.
“For the prank!” you clarified as if it were obvious.
Remus nodded, the same amused look as earlier, Godric was it fun to tease you, even if the reason you were getting red for was Sirius and not himself. You were blushing, becoming shyer the wider he smirked. You pushed yourself off him, which had his little smile falter even if it was just for a second. “If you boys keep being gross about this whole thing I’ll just go hang out with Lily instead.”
“You can’t, we’ve got class together,” James said, placing his arm over your shoulder “and whether you like it or not, you’re my partner.” You gave an exaggerated groan in response, tilting your head back just a little to make it seem more dramatic. “Oi! I’m not that bad!”
“You talk about Lily all the time, and since your date is on Saturday I can’t imagine how much you will–“
“–Righ! you need to help me with the planning of that too!” He said taking his arm off your shoulder and turning to you excitedly.
“But that plan is already done…”
“But what will I say if–“
Sirius came over now, placing his arms over your shoulder “Mate, if you need her to tell you what to do in every single situation, why not let her go on the date with Lily instead?”
“She’s your girlfriend!” James said scandalised.
“Wouldn’t mind sharing her with Evans,” Sirius responded with a shrug which had you laughing, “she’s nice, they’d make a hot couple, actually,” the boy added, just to see James’ reaction.
“Don’t you dare come seduce my future wife!” he said, turning to you with a threatening finger and in a playful tone.
“As much as I’m into redheads, Lilly is most definitely just a friend,” you responded.
“What do you mean you’re into redheads?” Sirius asked, turning to you a little shocked.
You just shugged, “Red hair is really pretty…”
“But I… I thought that… You said I was your type!”
You shook your head with a teasing smile “You said you were my type Puppy.”
Sirius seemed taken aback, but that was right, he really had been the one to say that Remus wasn’t your type because he was, you could practically see the gears turning in his head as his confident expression faltered, which had you suppress a giggle “So you like redheads then?” he said a little defensively “next thing I know you’ll come around telling me you’re also into sexy werewolves.”
Remus almost choked on the piece of chocolate he was munching, but he played it off with a cough, you just gave Sirius a diverted look “Puppy,” you said with a raised eyebrow “Are you jealous ‘cause I said I’m into redheads?”
“Of course not,” he said, “Why don’t you go and flirt with one of the Weaslys then?”
You just laughed, you had no idea who the hell he was talking about since Arthur had graduated a couple of years before you even got into the school, and his younger brother was in 2nd (you had yet to meet him). “Sirius,” you said, calling his attention by leaning in to whisper in his ear “I might be into redheads, but I still like you better than any of ‘em.”
Sirius almost went red, for a second, but got back on his feet faster than he faltered, and turned to you with a smirk “Well of course you do Starshine,” he said cockily, “After all you’ve got the hottest boyfriend in the entire school.”
You, along with the boys, laughed at Sirius’ antiques. But she really does, Remus thought as he chuckled and extended his hand with the chocolate towards you, you took a square and bit half of it off before feeding the rest to Sirius. Remus swallowed, wondering if he could be happy with this. With just being a part of it by sticking to the two of you like he was doing then. He wondered if he would be able to survive the heartache whenever he was consumed by greed and desire to have one of you. Whenever he felt like he had to stop being a spectator and take part in the story instead. He shook that thought off his head, he had to focus on the prank now, that was the priority.
Once near the classroom, Peter waved goodbye, walking to his class while you entered yours. You and James sat behind Sirius and Remus, and while you did attempt to work on your project, in the end, you had spent most of the time going over the plan with James. He had it all perfectly memorised, and he was now telling you how Remus and Sirius would sneak into the library to get the book with the charms they’d be practising all night while you and Remus prepared the special potions you’d be using later that day.
“So they’ll use the map to sneak in and…”
“What map?” you asked “Did Remus make more maps for the rest of the passages?”
“Oh well…” James seemed at a loss of words, then leaned down to talk to the boys, you arched an eyebrow, but watched as they whispered about. “Can we tell Vixen about the map?”
“Yeah, she’ll see it when we go make the potions anyway,” Remus said.
“I trust her,” Sirius said with a shrug.
“Of course you do tosser, she’s your girlfriend,” James said with an eye roll “I trust her too, but what about Peter?”
“I don’t think he’ll mind…” Remus said.
“You don’t?!” Sirius asked, “He can be touchy as hell sometimes.”
“But he likes her,” James added, more convincing himself than the rest, “I’ll tell her about it.”
Finally, you leaned in, having your head almost bump into Remus’ who was sitting in front of you “Tell me about what?” you asked teasingly.
Remus smiled, “Oh you’ll see,” he responded mischievously “I’ll tell you all about it later.”
“Mr. Potter, and company,” you heard the voice of the teacher booming in your direction. “Would you mind telling me what’s so important that Mr. Lupin and Mr. Black have to say that you’re not focusing on your work instead?”
“Sorry Professor,” you apologised. “I was just asking Remus about a particular charm he’s really good at, and we need to use it for our project. James was trying to listen in since both of us will be performing it and Sirius was just trying to help us out as well,” then you flashed the most charming and apologetic smile you could muster.
“Well then, you should have told me earlier,” he said “Why don’t you guys move your chairs around so you can focus on your conversation better, instead of leaning down over your desks like that?”
“That would be delightful! Thank you, Professor,” you said with another smile as motioned for Remus and Sirius to stand up as you flicked your want to move their chairs towards you.
“Ugh, you really need to teach me your ways,” Sirius said as he stared at you “I swear I’m charming but… he would’ve eaten me up had I tried something like that.”
You looked over at the Professor, at the way he held himself “Nah, I’m sure you would’ve convinced him with one of those flashy smiles of yours,” you said with a shrug, “Even James would have convinced him.”
“Way to leave Moony out,” the boy said with a low whistle that earned him a kick from Sirius, for making so much noise.
“Thought it was obvious, Remus would’ve convinced him before I even attempted to do it, Professors love him to dеath.”
“What?! that’s not–“ Remus started.
Sirius and James interrupted him “Yes it is!”
In the end, you went over the steps of the plan one more time before you went back to working on your actual class projects. You and James ended up working on the night vision glasses and because of how useful they could be, both of you started digging through books to try and figure out if you could actually finish them before the prank.
Eventually, you did find a spell that could work, and while you were drawing a bunch of runes on the wooden table, James was writing down a copy of the spell on a piece of paper so the two of you could enchant the object at the same time.
Both Remus and Sirius were impressed with how fast and in tandem you were working, as if you really had known each other for longer than you had. It was easy to forget how freaking brilliant James was while he was cracking jokes half the time, but he was as much of a genius as the rest of the boys, even if each of them had their thing. The class finished, and since you had lunch, neither you nor the boys worried too much about leaving the classroom as you continued working on your spell.
That was until Lily showed up near the door “There you are!” She said once she spotted you “I was looking for you, time to change your bandages!” She said pulling a roll-out of her bag “We’ve got like 30 minutes before Defence Against the Dark Arts–”
Your eyes opened wide, “–30 minutes?!” you asked shocked and turned to the clock “fuck, I’m supposed to be in the bathrooms with Richie,” you said as you stood up and placed your robes around your shoulders to then start unbuttoning the shirt, your back facing the boys.
Lilly took off her own robes and levitated them around you to give you more room to move around as her robes covered you while you took off your shirt, “Why do you need to see Richard near the bathrooms?” She asked.
“It’s confidential!” James said before you even had a chance to open your mouth.
“Yeah darling, don’t tell the beautiful redhead, no matter how tempting,” Sirius teased right after.
You rolled your eyes and Lily arched one of her eyebrows “What’s that about?” She asked as she opened the roll and took out a small pot with her cream, you were unwrapping the older bandages while at it so that you could both end faster and you could run off to see Richie before he got too angry.
“I accidentally told Sirius I was into redheads,” you said with a shrug “he probably won’t stop teasing me about it.”
“Oh,” she said surprised, taking the bandage you were unrolling with her own hands and helping you with it “Didn’t know you were into redheads…” she said casually “Would you mind if I tease Sirius about it?”
“Not at all,” you said, “be my guest,” you smiled complicitly.
“Oh wow,” she said as she looked at your injury “You heal fast,” she said surprised.
You turned towards it, and she was right, while the wound wasn’t completely healed, it was significantly better than it had been the day before, let alone today in the morning when you were crying as you tried to cure it in the Room of Requirements. Perhaps the piercing paste you had somehow mustered up in the morning did something good in the end, even if it had hurt a hell lot while doing it. Either that or it was something else, either way, you were just happy it was looking better, if it went on like that, you might just be able to convince James to let you play on Sunday.
“Ready for your date on Saturday?” you whispered, you could tell there was a slight blush creeping up her neck.
“That bastard is lucky I said yes, I don’t even know how exactly he convinced me,” she muttered.
I do, you thought as you remembered the glass of punch she had in her hands at the party, “No idea, perhaps you just were really happy,” either way, it’s not like the euphoria potion made you do anything you didn’t want to, in fact, I’d go as far as to say it was like liquid courage. Of course, Remus wouldn’t agree with that opinion, or perhaps it did give him some courage, for the first five minutes or something.
“Yeah, I did feel quite happy,” Lily agreed. “It was really nice to hang out with James while taking the pictures, I guess I really hadn’t given him a chance before that.” She said as she dabbed the wound with her much more reliving paste. You would have cried from relief if it wasn’t because she’d asked you why you were crying.
You were taking deep, slow breaths when you heard Sirius’ voice from behind Lily’s cloak “Hey luv, we’ll pick up some lunch for you so you can take your time with Richie, all right?”
You nodded and then shook your head when you remembered he couldn’t see you “Yes, save me some sausages, will you?”
“Whose sausages?” James teased.
“Ugh, don’t be so gross Potter!” Lily responded “And to think I agreed to go on a date with him,” she muttered to herself.
“I’m sorry my love,” he said in return “did not mean to upset you.”
Lily just rolled her eyes “Get the poor girl her sausages and stop being annoying then.” You snickered as you heard Lily’s bickering and she gave you a look, you raised your free hand in surrender. A couple of minutes later she was done wrapping the bandage. “There you are darling,” she said with a smile.
“Thanks,” you said with a smile “You’re the best.”
Lily just smiled “Want me to come with?” she asked as she motioned to the door and you rushed to put your shirt and sweater on.
You shook your head “It’s all right, I can deal with him. Besides, it’s kind of confidential.”
Lily arched her eyebrows “Really? You’re not telling me what this is all about?”
“Trust me, you’re better off like this, you’ll have plausible deniability,” you said with a smile as you finished accommodating your shirt.
Lily was staring at you shocked as you walked to the door “What do you– (Y/N)! You can’t be working on a prank with them–“ she said as she followed behind, pulling her own robe that was still suspended in the air as she picked up her pace. “(Y/N)!” She whined when she realised just how far down one of the halls you already were.
“Plausible deniability Lily,” you shouted from the end of the hall “Plausible deniability, trust me!” you repeated with a smile before turning in one of the corners, speeding through the halls to reach all the way to the outside of the Prefect Bathrooms, thankfully they weren’t that far off.
After some more running you finally made it to the bathrooms, Richard Jackdaw was already there, looking a little annoyed as stared at you, as if you had him wait for too long.
“Sorry I’m late,” you said, panting. “I got stuck in a class and then they had to change my bandages because, well, Myrtle mentioned it, didn’t she?”
“That Barty and his gang threw you into the Shrieking Shack because you invited us to the Halloween Party?” he asked, “yeah I’ve heard… You know I had never been invited to a party before, at least not since I became a ghost a couple hundred years ago, and Myrtle, well, I’m sure she hadn’t been invited to one even when she was alive.”
You tried not to cringe at his words, Richard could sometimes be a little bit of a boastful prick, but he was nice enough to hang around, and he had lots of interesting stories to tell, which is probably why you enjoyed hanging out with him and some of the other ghosts as much as you did. And you couldn’t blame him for his impression of Myrtle, since you had a very similar impression of her.
“So… why am I here? Revenge, I assume.”
You smiled, it was nice to know Richie and you were on the same page, you nodded “I want to pay them back in equal proportion,” you said with a smile.
Richie arched an eyebrow, floating a little closer to the floor to see you eye to eye “Did ghosts really scare you in the Shack?” he asked with what you could only classify as curiosity “I know of no ghosts in there… And you aren’t particularly scared by us either…”
You shook your head “There are no ghosts in the shack,” you confirmed, “but it is haunted by something else.”
Richard pulled back, clearly interested in the story that you had to tell, the only thing was, that you wouldn’t tell any story, not today, possibly not ever… “And..?” he asked.
“And nothing, the thing there did give me a hell of a scare, I almost died and everything,” you said casually “Got scratched up too–“
“–Yeah, Myrtle mentioned that one, she also said something about Mulciber being bedridden because of you.”
You smiled proudly at that “Yeah, so I’ve been told,” you said “It was just Oppugno, but I guessed something funny must have gotten to him,” you said with a shrug.
“Aren’t you in 6th? Oppugno is a 7th year spell, I believe…”
“It is, I’ve been reading ahead a good bit,” you said cockily “but talking about my small little success there, is not why I’ve requested to talk to you.”
“Yeah, I figured,” he said haughtily “So then, tell me, what’s the plan?”
“Well, I know you’re a member of the Headless Hunt,” you started, Richard arched an eyebrow as he leaned in one of the statues, “And I did mention payback in the same propor–“
“–Shhh…” he said as he placed a transparent hand close to your mouth and looked around “fuck,” he added as he fixated his head on one of the corners “Quick, rub the head of the toad!” he pointed at a statue.
“Excuse me?” you asked with a frown.
“Someone’s approaching, hurry!” He added you did as told, leaning closer to the statue and passing your hand over the large toad’s head. In a matter of seconds, the mouth of the frog opened wide and swallowed you whole. You ended up rolling on the floor and coughing a couple of times as you tried to figure out where you had ended up.
Seconds later you saw Richard float through the wall “You all right?” he asked you “Didn’t hurt your arm, did it?”
You shook your head, almost surprised at his concern, most of the time Richard was too stuck up to care for anyone else but his ghostly self, or perhaps that was merely a façade and you were finally looking at the real Richard Jackdow, either way, you already knew he was friendly enough to be willing to talk to the new girl, so you held him in relatively high regards.
You nodded, he offered you his hand to get up but quickly pulled it back, as if it was hard for him to remember he wasn’t alive anymore. It was a rather interesting phenomenon, you thought since most ghosts still had a hard time remembering their capabilities as dеad people even if they had been ghosts for far longer than they had been alive. Myrtle, for example, hated it when books were thrown in her direction, even if she actually couldn’t feel them.
You gave him a tight apologetic smile as you stood up, dusting your robes as you looked around “You’ve brought me to your Secret hideout, then… Who was outside?”
“Spellman and Nightshade,” he said “We don’t want them to think we’re plotting something, do we?”
You smiled and shook your head, looking at the small table in the centre of the room, placing your hands on it and leaning in just a little to test if it was sturdy enough to hold your weight, naturally you used your good arm to avoid hurting the other one further. When it proved it was, you turned around and gave a small jump to sit over it, legs dangling a little as you stared at the boy, ghost with a smile “We certainly don’t, thanks for the heads up…” you said, trailing off at the end, realising how it could’ve been offensive only after you had spoken. Richie gave you an amused look, “sorry…”
He just laughed, “You’re probably the only living person I’d let make head-related jokes without retaliation,” he informed. “But don’t you dare tell anyone about it!”
“I would never…” you said with a smile “Consider it our little tête-à-tête secret.”
Richard chuckled, shaking his head as he did, you were certainly a funny one, no wonder the entire school was so fascinated with the new girl “Don’t push your luck…”
You just smiled, and leaned your head to the side “Will you ever tell me the story of how it happened?” you asked, since you’d been rather curious about it, but knew most ghosts didn’t really enjoy talking about their last moments alive.
“I told someone once a few hundreds of years ago, they finished what I started,” he said “But that’s a story for another day, all thought they remind me of you a little.”
You raised an eyebrow with a small grin “Did you also let them make head puns?”
Richard hummed and shook his head “Privilege is reserved for you sweetheart,” he said with a wink.
“Don’t sweetheart me,” you retorted with a smile.
“You don’t mind when Remus does it.”
“Well that’s–“
“You’re wasting my time luv,” he said, waving his hand dismissively, “What do you need me to do?”
“The headless hunt,” you said. He hummed. “I need you to talk to them, and convince them to help us out.”
He tilted his head “Won’t be an easy feat.”
“That’s the reason I came to you Ricchie, I know you can be very convincing.”
He hummed again, leaning back a little as he stared at you “And then what? I doubt the Slytherins would be much too scared by the headless hunt, most of them are pure-bIood wizards anyway.”
You started explaining all the details of the plan to him, his grin grew wider as you went through the potions and charms you’d be using, “You could add some spider venom essence to increase the sensation of crawling skin,” he offered, it had you raise your eyebrows and turn to him with newfound interest, he smirked “I was brilliant in potions when I was alive, that’s how I ended up working with Olivanders, helped whim with the extraction of ingredients.”
“So now I know who to bother when I need potion-related advice,” you teased.
He chuckled “Don’t make it a habit,” he retorted “By the way, do you not have class now?”
You looked around to try and find a clock in the old room, but there was none “Shit… I– Do you happen to know the time?”
He laughed, “I’m dеad, not all-knowing.”
You rolled your eyes, but nodded, finally jumping off the table “Thanks for helping me out with this, and for showing me your secret little hideout, clearly no one has been here in years.”
“They haven’t indeed, I used to bring Anne and Apollonia to hook up here,” he said with a shrug.
“You brought me to your hook-up hiding spot?!” you asked with a gasp.
He chuckled “Why? You bothered?”
You looked around, aside from the dust and spiderwebs, it seemed clean enough “No… Can I use it?” you said casually, turning back to him.
He raised an eyebrow “Which of your boyfriends will you bring here?” he asked.
“I’ve only got one of those,” you dеadpanned.
He smirked, “You keep telling yourself that, little one.”
You rolled your eyes “So.. Can I?”
He shrugged, “Leave a sock by the door at least.”
You scoffed, diverted “It’s not going to be to hook up! it’s a perfect hideout to plan things… or even to prepare potions…”
“Oh you’re definitely bringing one of your boyfriends here,” he said “Just don’t forget the socks.”
“I swear, one can’t have close friends these days without everyone assuming shit.”
“Or maybe you’re just that oblivious,” he whispered as he started to leave through a wall.
“Hey! Wait! how the hell do I get out?” you asked.
“You’re clever enough to figure it out,” he said with a laugh before disappearing. Freakin Richie! He left you locked up in the damn hook-up room. You looked around, the walls were wrapped with large thick bookshelves and a couple hundred books and other trinkets. There was a cauldron near the corner, along with some crystal vases, and a small cupboard with what looked like dried potion ingredients. It really was the perfect place to brew the potions once you’d gotten the ingredients from Slughorn’s office. The only issue left was getting out of it.
There was no door, or anything that resembled one either. There wasn’t another identical statue either, so leaving the exact same way you had gotten in, was not an option. You took a deep breath and continued to look around, analysing the entire place again. There were more and more books, everywhere you looked. Some of them were in fact potion books, and they had some of the library symbols, which meant either Richie or someone before him had been the one to take them there. You grabbed one of them and started flipping through the pages when something caught your eye, there was a small frog carved into the side of one of the bookshelves.
You left the book on the table without sparing it a second glance and reached the bookshelf in two strides, leaning down, you realised that there was a section that you could press, you smiled, leaning into the wall to try and hear if there was anyone outside. When you were sure there wasn’t you took a deep breath, brazing yourself for what was to come.
Finally, you pressed the head of the frog, in a matter of seconds you were outside, this time you managed to land on your knees and quickly pretended you were tying your shoelaces as you looked around, trying to make sure no one had seen you. When you were sure the coast was clear, you stood up, and turned to the clock at the end of the hallway. You were fucking late.
You didn’t think twice, speed walking towards the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom. The door was open and lots of people were gathered around two long tables, you instantly knew what was happening, you knew the arrangement, you’d seen it before… in the duelling club.
You took a deep breath and waited till most people had turned around to sneak inside as fast as possible, you were walking straight towards the girls when you felt a hand on your shoulder “Lovely to see you decided to grace us with your presence darling,” you froze dеad in your tracks, that was Professor Nightshade's melodic voice.
You turned around with an apologetic smile, ignoring the pang on your arm as she accidentally brushed your shoulder wound. “I’m sorry Professor,” you said “I’ve been feeling a little off lately, I’m aware I’ve missed a couple of classes, and duelling club but I–”
“–don’t need to hear your explanations,” she said with a smile, you weren’t exactly sure if she was being kind or hostile about it “We were just about to start a new duel, we were looking for a second volunteer, would you care to do it?” Remus, who was standing a couple of metres behind tensed up, trying to give you a warning, but you didn’t notice, you were too enthralled by Nightshade’s stare.
“Uhh… yeah sure,” you said as you dug your pockets to bring your wand out. Finally, you noticed Lily facepalming herself on the side which had you frown. You turned around, to look at the spot on the table to which you’d have to climb to, and you instantly knew why she had done it.
On the other side of the long table, looking as pleased with himself as it gets, was Evan Rosier. You looked at him, keeping your expression as neutral as you could. And walked over to the table, Professor Nightshade elegantly offered you her hand so you could lean on it as you gave the rather tall jump, and you took it with a small smile, even if you were gritting your teeth as you got backlash from leaning on your wounded arm.
Seraphina had no idea you were hurt, so even if she was hurting you she was doing it unwittingly. You saw James cringe as she grabbed onto your arm to help you up, but neither he nor anyone else could interfere. Once you were up there, you tightened your grip on your wand as you stared ahead. Last time you’d faced the boy he’d been in advantage, he had gotten you from behind, by surprise and he was a lot stronger than you were. That without even mentioning how it had been a 4 against one situation.
This time it was different, there was no room to play dirty, Nightshade was there and she wouldn’t allow it, you wouldn’t say you were particularly in advantage. Evan was a very talented wizard, you knew that much, but you were even, and that was enough for you to feel the adrenaline start pulsing through your veins. You’d get the chance to redeem yourself. You’d prove that you weren’t actually weak.
“Backs to each other,” you heard Nightshade order, both you and Evan did as told, “I’ll count to five, and you’ll step away from each other that same amount of steps, when I’m done, you may turn around and start the duel, Understood?”
You nodded and noticed from the corner of your eyes that Lily was gripping James’ arm with a nervous grip, the boy himself seemed tense, and you weren’t sure if it was because of the way Lily was clinging onto him or because he was just as worried for you as she was, probably both.
“One,” NIghtshade said, both you and Evan gave a step in the opposite direction, you realised Peter had a tight grip on his own wand, and was darting his eyes rapidly between you and just behind you, he was looking at Evan, you realised. “Two.” You took another step.
Remus could see Sirius tensing up, the boy was breathing slow and steady and had his eyes glued to Evan. He took a step towards his friend, and placed a hand over his shoulder, attempting to make it look like a friendly gesture as if not to call too much attention. Not that people were staring, no, they were all too busy staring at you and Evan. It’s not that the entire class knew of the rivalry between the two, but most people knew about the time you had hit Barty with the quaffle and they knew Barty and Evan were best friends. They had also seen your hostile behaviour towards each other, and with all the attention you were getting because of quidditch, you weren’t exactly one to blend in the back.
Even if not everyone in the classroom knew how far the rivalry went, they knew the duel they were about to witness would be one to remember. Especially since both you and Evan, were just as talented in charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts as each other. Had Nightshade paid a little closer attention, and not believed Slughorn when he said that you were on friendly terms with each other and made a fantastic team, maybe she would have realised what a terrible idea this was.
“Three,” She said, you both took another step, widening the distance between the other. You took a deep breath, tightening your grip around your wand, Evan was most likely going to go straight for an attack, so you’d have to be ready to block it, “Four,” she said, and you took another step, you could feel the tension building, the entire class was silent. So silent it was as if they were holding their breath.
Remus felt Sirius inch forward and he instantly tightened his grip on the other boy’s shoulder. Inching closer so that his chest was almost touching Sirius’ back. While Remus was just as tense as your boyfriend, he also knew how much more impulsive Sirius was, so he started to rub soft circles with his thumb near the boy’s shoulder blade, “She can take him,” he whispered reassuringly, his eyes glued on you as he spoke.
Another moment of silence and then “Five.”
In a matter of seconds both you and Evan were facing each other, “stupefy,” he spat.
“Protego,” you said just before his spell reached you, casting a light blue force field around you that instantly blocked his spell. Once the two spells crashed against each other you spoke again “expelliarmus.”
“Excellent wand work, the both of you,” Seraphina said “Pay attention to her shield charm, she cast it right before Evan’s spell reached her, which makes the spell even stronger.”
While she spoke, you and Evan continued launching spells at each other, but you both had wicked-fast reflexes and managed to counter most of them, which meant you were both increasingly using stronger and more complex charms and jinxes to try and get to the other.
“Serpensortia,” the blond said, you paused for a moment to look at him while a very big snake approached you, it was a very basic spell, and you weren’t sure why Evan would use something like that against you, perhaps it’s a Slytherin thing, you thought.
“Flipendo,” you said pointing towards the snake, effectively pushing it back towards the boy, the snake had flown so fast, that it fell right over his shoulders. He hissed and pushed it to the side, having it fall over the head of a couple of other students.
“Keep the spells on the table!” Nightshade reprimanded as several students sprung back, trying to get out of the way.
You turned to the side and pointed your wand at the snake “deletrious,” you said, the snake rolled on itself and disappeared, but the little distraction had given Evan an advantage.
“Diffindo,” the boy spat, you ducked, but the curse got your cheek either way, causing a small slash on it. You heard some people hiss, Remus had to basically glue Sirius to his chest to warn him not to step in. He knew the teacher would reprimand him, but even worse, he knew you’d be pissed if anyone stepped in at that point.
You touched your face, with your free hand, seeing the bIood on your fingers as you turned your wand back to him, or more precisely to a point in the ground near his feet, “reducto,” you said, causing a small explosion on the table that caused Evan to jump back, giving you enough time to get back your own footing.
Evan seemed to panic as you got up and pointed his wand at you “Confringo!” he said, you somehow managed to block the spell.
“Rosier!” Nightshade reprimanded “That’s not a spell we–”
“-Avis!” you responded, causing a swarm of birds to fly in Evan’s direction.
“Miss (Y/L/N)!” She started as well, but neither of you was paying much attention to her words at that point.
“Expulso!” he spat, the birds all exploded into thin air “Incarcerus!” You blocked.
“Petrificus totalus!” you said, but he jumped to the side, “Incarcerus!”
“Impedimenta!” This time, you both got each other.
You were moving in slow motion as he fought with chains that wrapped around his feet and arms. “Fini…” This was going to take a while, you realised. Evan was working around the ropes pretty fast. “…te incantatem…” you managed to say and got back on your feet only seconds before he shot another jinx that you managed to counter by a hair.
He pointed his wand at your face “Reducto!”
You blocked and shot the same spell, he blocked, “stupefy!” He blocked. “Exoelliarmus!” he blocked. He was blocking everything, you’d need something stronger to get him even as he was blocking. “Confringo!” you spat again, but Evan had been distracted by Nightshade who was still trying to end the duel and it got him. You gasped as the boy was shot back by a fiery explosion. You’d been expecting him to block, so you weren’t measuring the strength of the spell.
Evan barely managed to sit as he reached the floor and started trying to put the fire on his robes off. “Relashio,” you said, launching a good deal of water over him. You had already won, he was on the floor, not on the table anymore, but he was pissed, everything stung and on top of that you had made him look like a wet rat with your stupid water spell.
Evan pointed his wand at you “Furnu-“ he started.
“Expeliarmus!” Nightshade interrupted, taking Evan’s hand away from his hand “That’s enough!” she said sternly “The two of you are way out of line!” You swallowed, still looking at her. “Diffindo?! Confringo?! Are you two out of your damned minds?!”
“Evan was the first one to–“
“–Silence!” she uttered, you bit your tongue, “I’ll take Mr. Rosier to the infirmary,” she informed “But we’ll be having a talk after dinner Miss (Y/L/N), not only because of the duel,” she added, and then turned to the rest of people “Class is cancelled everyone, you may go back to your daily tasks.” She then dragged Evan out of the classroom.
There was a series of whispers and people started leaving the classroom, you were still standing over the table, slightly frozen when Lily reached for your hand and helped you down, she took a look at you, placing both hands on the sides of your head to check the cheek that Evan’s spell had gotten cut. James was there, looking at it over Lily’s shoulder, and he winced as the girl moved your head to the side to give it a closer look. The rest of your friends were fast approaching, you still hadn’t said a word.
Sirius came to you with a huge smile, Remus trailing close behind you “Starshine!” your boyfriend said, trying to get your attention. Since your head was still being held by Lily’s hands, you just focused your eyes on him, he had a huge grin on his face “That was incredible luv!” he started. You didn’t have much of a reaction. “The way that you–“
“–Sirius,” Remus said, calmly, trying to get the boys’ attention, he had somehow gotten just in front of the longer-haired boy in a matter of seconds.
“And then how you–“
“Sirius,” he called again. The boy finally turned to him, and saw the way Remus shook his head slowly. Sirius frowned, not quite getting what Moony wanted to say.
“He didn’t block,” you muttered.
“What was that luv?” Lily asked, the boys’ attention all on you now.
“I– I was expecting him to block… I didn’t mean to…”
Sirius frowned “What?! But after the things they did–“
“What did they do?” Beth, who had just gotten there, asked.
Sirius swallowed. “They threw them off their brooms while they were broom surfing,” Remus intervened.
“You went broom surfing again?” James asked, in shock, Lily almost kicked him in the shin, “Because I thought–“
“He’s in the infirmary because of me,” you muttered again. That was not the plan, that was not how you’d get back at them.
Yeah, you almost died because of him, I’d say you’re even, Sirius thought, but he didn’t voice it, the rest of your friends were gathering around.
“Should we put something on your–“ Lily started.
You shook your head “I’m fine.”
The girl nodded, understanding that you needed some space to process everything that had gone down, especially because of how fast it had been.
“We should go to the common room,” Remus voiced from beside you, and then leaned a little closer, placing one of his hands on your back, a soft reassuring smile “We still have the food you asked for earlier.”
You looked at him, eyes a little unfocused at first, but eventually you nodded. You all walked back to the common room together. Sirius had taken your hand in his, to try and give a reassuring squeeze, even if he wasn’t quite sure why you were so perturbed, since he thought the way Evan had ended up was well deserved. He’d seen the marks of his fingers on your neck and jaw, he’d seen the sheer stress you had been put into when they matched you with him in potions, in fact, he’d go as far as to say confringo, hadn’t been enough, but that might just be the Black in him.

C.W: suggestive content, mentions of nudity
Sirius’ day had been awful, to say the least. First: he had woken up late, so he had to skip breakfast to get to the Cursebreaker facility on time. Then, the day’s job had ended with a conspicuous amount of weird green gooish stuff all over him and his colleagues. He had to change clothes back at the facility, but he forgot to bring a spare shirt, so he was still covered in that disgusting thing. Then somebody had decided that competence was something too hard to have, and caused a storm in his office, ruining his report, forcing him to do it again. Finally, to top it all off, he forgot to tell Remus to not put up the anti-apparition wards that afternoon, since he didn’t take his bike to work, and he had to go home using the Miggle public transport, which, if you’ve ever been to London, on a Monday, at 5pm, you’ll understand why it soured Sirius’ mood even more.
So there he was: at 6pm, still covered in green goo (that was now starting to smell too), in front of his door, realising that he forgot his keys.
Luckily the anti-alohomora spell was not on, so Sirius could still get into the apartment, where his mood immediately picked up.
His boyfriend was waiting for him, with a plate of freshly baked brownies on their living room table, a cup of his favourite tea and his beautiful body covered only by a white apron adorned with the sentence “Kiss the cook” on the front.
A shiver passed down Sirius’ spine at the sight.
“Well, good afternoon, beautiful”
Sirius was so incredibly grateful. He thanked Merlin, Morgana and even some Muggle deities, for good measure, for the gift that was Remus Lupin.
Remus Lupin who was now coming towards him, a naughty glint in his eyes, ready to wrap himself around his very awaiting boyfriend.
“DON’T TOUCH ME!” Sirius yelled, flashing his hands in front of him to keep Remus at distance.
“Ouch. I didn’t think I was that hideous, Love”
Remus answered, the clear sarcasm hiding some real concern (Sirius would have never, NEVER turned down a propositioning Remus in his right mind.)
“Remus, Moony, love of my life. I love you, and I really, really want to jump your bones right now, but I am covered in weird, green, smelly goo that I have no idea what it is. So please, for the love of Merlin, stay away from me. Give me like- five minutes and please, PLEASE don’t cover yourself up.”
Remus chuckled, amused by the funny situation.
“Actually, since this is the situation, I guess I could cover myself less, and join you in the shower. How about that?”
Sirius didn’t know who else to thank for this blessing that was his boyfriend, so he just thanked him.
“Yes. Please, thank you. I would like that. Very much.”
“Well, let’s go then.”
With a salacious wink, a Sirius wink you could say, Remus turned his back at his boyfriend, slowly undoing the knot that was keeping up his apron, giving Sirius a perfect view of his bum.
“Well? Are you coming, love?”
Sirius could just scramble to get in the shower as fast as he could.

Happy October 1st! Have some fun Halloween themed HCs!
Haunted House/Maze:
Virgil loves haunted houses because it's scary in a controlled way and he ultimately knows he's safe. But he won't go alone. So, he drags Roman with him. Roman talks a big game about protecting Virgil, but ends up mostly clinging to Virgil the whole time and scraming his high pitched girl scream.
Janus, Remus, and Logan also appreciate a haunted house. Janus likes to roleplay with the actors. Remus has been kicked out at least once before for accidentally punching an actor on reflex.
Patton does NOT like haunted houses and will wait in line at the snack shack to buy everyone hot cider and donuts to enjoy when they're done.
Roman is a big fan of "getting lost" in the maze to make out (Virgil is also partial to this, though he definitely prefers the haunted house).
Logan appreciate the puzzle, which is good because Patton has no sense of direction and would be utterly lost without Logan.
Remus cuts right through the corn and jumps out at people. Janus is the only one he is never able to scare, no matter how hard he tries.
Pumpkin Patch/Pumpkin Carving:
Roman and Remus get really into pumpkin carving every year, the more intricate and over the top, the better. It's also sort of a competition with them. Virgil also gets into this, but he's less intense about it.
Patton collects the pumpkin seeds from aforementioned carving and roasts them! He's also the one who suggests sprinkling cinnamon in the carved pumpkins, so they smell like pumpkin pie when you light a candle in them.
Logan likes to design pumpkins, but hates the actual carving (the pumpkin guts are too gooey and it's a sensory nightmare) so he makes a template and then has Patton do it for him.
Janus doesn't carve a pumpkin (he doesn't want to take his gloves off), so he becomes the impartial judge of the impromptu pumpkin competition. Roman insists this is unfair, because he's "biased towards Remus" but he's vetoed.
Remus selects the ugliest, knobbiest, weirdest looking pumpkins to carve because "they'll be scarier that way" and "they have more character" while Roman selects the smoothest, most perfectly shaped pumpkins to carve because he likes a nice, clean canvas, and "it's just so SHAPED" and pleasing to the eye.
In addition to carving pumpkins, sometimes Patton will select a small, sweet pumpkin to roast and puree to make pumpkin pie. He insists that roasting the pumpkin yourself is vastly superior to the canned stuff (he's right).
Costumes:
Logan is big on obscure nerd costumes that no one else understands until he explains it. He's out here dressing up like famous scientists and stuff like that. Sometimes he lets Patton talk him into something more recognizable though.
Virgil always always makes his costumes himself. We're talking sewing, hot glue, making props, etc. He starts planning in the summer to make sure he has enough time. And he always goes for something scary.
Janus also plans early, but he's not afraid to buy things. Usually his costumes come from scouring thrift stores. No one can spot a treasure at the Goodwill like Janus.
Roman and Remus will pick costumes that either go together or completely clash, and there's no in between. One year, they'll be Peter Pan (Remus) and Captain Hook (Roman), the next year Roman is Superman/Clark Kent and Remus is in one of those inflatable dinosaur costumes.
Patton always has grandiose ideas for costumes, and then waits to the last minute and throws something together. Usually he goes for cute rather than scary.
Various Other Stuff:
Virgil will die before he admits this, but he fucking LOVES pumpkin spice. He claims he likes his coffee "black like my soul" but in secret he might love a PSL even more than Patton.
Roman and Remus take candy trades very, very seriously as kids. If either of them ends up with more of one thing it will result in all out war between them.
Patton and Virgil go absolutely balls-to-the-wall when it comes to decorations. Spirit Halloween exploded all over everything. Logan wisely doesn't ask how much it cost.
Janus answers "trick-or-treat" with "trick" every time and sets up friendly spooky Halloween pranks for his friends. Nothing too bad, and he usually has a treat for them afterwards, too.
Roman hosts Halloween movie marathons. The campier the better. Your Halloweentowns and your Hocus Pocuses and your Beetlejuices and your Scooby-Doos. Of course, Remus and Virgil slip some actually scary stuff in there, too. (Roman isn't too upset about it, as long as he can jump into Virgil's lap when he's scared)

Desperate Times | Remus Lupin x Reader
Marauders Masterlist / Taglist / Inbox
Summary: Remus doesn't want to hurt you, but you can't sit still any longer. When you do inevitably get hurt, he tells himself that enough is enough (part 2: Desperate Measures)
Content Warnings/Tags: Blood, injury, fighting, angst, bad coping mechanisms
Word Count: 1.6k
A/N: I made edibles and then I made this so if it turns out to be horrible I'll just delete it in the morning. There will be a part two for this but only the gods will know how long that's going to take.
You had been fighting all afternoon. You had just wanted to help him. And you did, really, you did help him. Remus was grateful for all the times you brought him chocolate pastries for breakfast in the hospital wing, because you knew how much he loathed the porridge they served there. He was thankful for all the times you would lay down next to him and run your fingers through his hair until he fell asleep. This time you had simply wanted to help again, you had told him you could no longer make him go through it alone. You had concluded that this was for the best for the both of you.
“You are following breadcrumbs with the assumptions youre making right now, do you know that? You can't do this.” He was angry you couldn't get it through your head that this was a bad idea, at how stubborn you were being.
“I can and I will, you can’t stop me Remus.”
“What are you gonna suggest next, walking into a house made of candy only to be eaten by an evil old witch?”
“The witch never ate them”
“That’s not my point.” He was angry with you now, why couldn't you just understand?
The full moon was tomorrow, and you had set your heart on helping him during the transformation instead of only after. He was telling you how it would only make him more worried, because if something happened to you and it was his fault, he didn't think he would ever be able to forgive himself. He had told you to stay in the castle tonight, but you were worried about him, and you told him you didn't care if he hurt you, because it wouldn't be him. You told him you didn't just want the good times, you wanted to be there for the hard times too, because you wanted to be with him through everything. But he was stubborn too, and he wouldn't risk it.
But you didn't listen, of course you didn't listen, he should've known better than that. He had seen you show up with James, Sirius and Peter. And he had wanted to protest, but it was already too late.
And now you were running through the forest, you were running as he chased you. The others had lost sight of the two of you for only a little while, but the werewolf had decided what it wanted quickly.
It had already been too late when you realized it. He had jumped at you, pushing you into the tree behind you, your head slamming into it. Your breath started to run short, and you started to feel afraid, but nothing could scare you more than what you saw when you opened your eyes. Right in front of you was Remus, or at least a distant version of him. His werewolf form was looming over you. You remembered how his eyes always shined when he smiled at you, but there was no trace of that now.
You felt blood coming from your abdomen, and you started to feel weaker and weaker. And only one thought remained in your head, you decided to make those your last words.
“I love you, Remus”
And just before your eyes closed, you could see his pupils dilate and his breathing quicken, and right as you had given up, he backed away from you
But before you could think of it any further, you could see James coming from behind you, he knocked Remus down and you could hear the werewolf whining. Sirius had turned back into his normal form, and was approaching you fast.
“He didn’t mean to.” You tell him. He has to know Remus didn't mean to. And just as he was about to talk he could see the colour drain from your face and your eyes close.
Remus had transformed back, and the first thing he did was ask Sirius where you were. He needed to know where they had brought you, he needed to see you to make sure you were okay. They had told him to settle down, get some rest for the night and go see you in the morning. But how could they think he was able to get any rest if they didn't let him see you?
Despite how tired he was, and how much his muscles ached, his heart hurt more. So he tore free from the grip James had on him, he used all of the strength that his exhausted body could possibly give him in order to see you. But it took a toll on him, and as he saw the state you were in, the claw marks on your stomach and the fabric pressed against it soaked in a heavy red liquid, he started seeing little white spots cornering in on him and he fell back to the floor.
He woke up in the hospital wing, and immediately he was worried. But he wasn't worried about the fresh wounds on his arms or the scratches on his neck, he was worried about you. He couldn't see you from where he was, and maybe it was for the best. Because if he had to face you right now, if he had to see you right now with the memory of what he had done to you, he swears he would have fallen through his knees at your side.
And so, over the next days, he does the only thing he can think of to avoid it. He avoids you. But no matter how hard he tries, he can't keep himself from you completely. He still watches you sitting beside your friends in the great hall, still watches the way you pick at your food. But when you catch his gaze, when he sees that bit of hope in your eyes as you catch his, he makes himself look away. He looks away and doesn't see the hurt look that passes over you, he doesn't see how your Lily reaches out for you and asks you what is wrong.
It had been a week now, and he had to keep reminding himself not to give in every time he saw you. Because he sees the way your smile has disappeared, he sees the way you eat less and the bags that have formed under your eyes. His friends tell him how much you say you miss him, and he misses you too. But he knows if he just holds on a little longer, it will all be better in the end. If you move on from him, only then can he stop worrying about hurting you, only then can he be sure you’ll be okay. And he wants to reach his arms towards you, he wants to hold you and whisper endearments to you. But he so goes on, despite everyone telling him that you’re worse off this way, that he was making you both go through unnecessary turmoil. Because he knows that this is the only way he can be certain you’ll be safe.
But as he continues to shut you out, he sees the way you start smiling again when someone asks you something, the way you light up as you recognize someone. As time moves on, so do you. Slowly, but surely, you move on. And it's not as if you haven't reached out to him, he still remembers the last conversation you had with him. You had asked him why he was avoiding you, what was going on and why he wouldn't talk to you. He was telling you that it was over between you, that he simply didn't want to be with you anymore. But you had called his bluff, no matter what he said you wouldn't accept it. He was getting desperate, not sure how much longer he could refrain from giving in to you, so he said the one thing he knew would work, the one thing that would surely make you leave him.
“There is no us, there never was.”
His voice isn't shaky, it doesn’t sound doubtful, because this was his last resort, and he had just used it. He told you, and within a second, your arms dropped to your sides and you were dead silent. Looking at him as if he had just ripped out your heart from within your chest with his bare hands. Your eyes are looking at him to save you from this hurt, to say he didn't mean it so you can forgive him and fall into his arms. But it was working, and he couldn’t give in now that he was finally making you believe it. While at war with himself, he said
“Who could ever love someone like you.”
And there it was, there was the one thing that made you recoil as if touching fire. And without saying another word, you started to cry. But you weren't sobbing, not making any expression. Your face was stoic and cold as you looked at him, and it was a stark contrast to the emotions that were showing just minutes before. You were standing completely still, waiting for him to say something, to take it back.
If he spend another minute looking at you, looking at the light leave your eyes even if you weren't really dying, he would have taken it back. But he stood his ground. And between the beats of your heart, his soul crumbled to ashes.

Ink and Destiny - Part 4
Maybe keeping a secret relationship with James is not as perfect as you think. Or, a whole lot of nothing, I need ideas plz.
A/N: Sorry for the wait, I hope everyone had a great Christmas! If you don't celebrate it then I hope you had a good day! Sorry this part is really bad, I need ideas, PLEASE give me ideas in the suggestion box please ily.
Part One Part Two Part Three
“Did you hear that James Potter is dating someone?”
“Do you think it’s Lily? He’s been crushing on her for years” “Of course it’s Lily. They’re going to have the cutest babies.”
You focus on the schoolwork before you, trying to block out the people next to you. You know James and you agreed to keep this dating thing private but you can’t help but feel sad, and jealous when people think he’s dating Lily.
You know James likes you, he’s made it clear. And you know that Lily doesn’t like James if the way she always rolled her eyes when he was around was any indication.
You’ve told Lily and Alice everything between you and James, as James has Sirius and Remus. Alice already knew since James asked her what your favourite book was, and Lily was shocked, disgusted and happy for you all in the span of five minutes.
The teacher dismisses the class and you rush out, bumping into Lily on your way to the girl's dormitory.
“You’ll come with me to the Quidditch game, right?” You ask nervously. You’re still nervous around James and Lily coming with you would help you calm down a lot.
She nods, hooking her arm with yours, “Yeah. Do you want to start getting ready? I’ll paint your nails.”
“Can you paint them red? I don’t know what I’m wearing yet, please help me.” you plead, sighing in relief when you reach the Gryffindor common room.
Scanning the room, your eyes land on James sitting on the couches in front of the fireplace, talking to James and Sirius.
Lily teasingly nudges me and you glare. “Stop it-” You stop at the sound of your name being called out and turn to face the speaker.
“Do you want to sit with us?” Sirius Black asks you from his seat, eyes swirling with mischief.
“Excuse me?” You squeak. From the corner of my eye, you see James smash his face against the couch pillow.
“The Quidditch game. Do you want to sit with Remus and me?” James lifts his head from the pillow, cheeks flushed as he mouths a silent ‘sorry.’
You nod, “Okay. As long as Lily can sit with us.”
It’s Remus who speaks, “Of course. We’ll meet here in an hour.”
You nod your head awkwardly, flashing them smiles then drag Lily up the stairs.
“I’m not ready to hang out with Remus and Sirius, what if they don’t like me? James values their opinion and if they don’t like me then who knows what will happen-” Lily cuts you off with her hands on your shoulders. “Calm down, it’ll be okay. You’ve worked with Remus before in Potions, remember? He liked you, and Sirius will like you too. Now cmon, let’s get ready.”
She leads you to a table in the corner, pulling out a deep red nail polish. You take turns painting each other's nails, Lily choosing to go for a dark green.
“What do I wear?” You ask, throwing everything out of your trunk in search of something cute. She joins you on the floor, rummaging through your trunk before holding a black skirt up.
“This is cute!”
“It’s almost winter.” “So? You’ll wear tights.”
It's pleated and lands mid-thigh. Hesitantly, you agree and you continue the hunt for a top. You chose to pair it with a maroon turtle neck sweater so you don’t freeze to death.
“Are you wearing cute underwear?” Lily asks as you get dressed.
“What? We’re not having sex!”
“Are you sure?” You send her a look. “Okay, but wearing cute underwear makes you more confident.” “Go away.” You can’t resist your smile as Lily laughs. You quickly do your makeup and hair, putting on simple black boots.
“Is this too much for a Quidditch game?” You ask self-consciously. Lily scoffs from behind you, “No. You look hot.”
“Okay, let’s go.”
—
Remus and Sirius are sitting in the same place as before, cheeky grins on their faces as they spot you.
“You ladies look amazing,” Sirius purrs, “You ready? I know James is excited to see you.” He winks, causing your cheeks to flush.
Ignoring Sirius and Lily’s laughter, you make your way to the field, Remus falling into step next to you.
“Don’t stress about getting him to like you. He already does. We all do.” At your confused face, he continues, “James has been so much happier since he found out you were his soulmate. And we like whoever makes him happy. So as long as you don't break his heart, we like you.”
“I’d never break his heart.”
“Good.”
—
“Potter! Potter! Potter!” The common room is deafeningly loud with almost everyone from Gryfindoor celebrating.
Gryffindor won, obviously, and the celebrations have been going on for an hour already. Besides a quick congratulations on winning the game, you haven't seen James since.
You and Lily were sitting alone in the corner before she got dragged away with a boy from her Defence Against the Dark Arts class, so now you’re sitting alone, nursing a glass of water as you try not to look too miserable. Parties have never been your thing, and even though you can’t exactly speak to James, you’d celebrate with him in spirit.
Perking up, you spot Sirius coming towards you with flushed cheeks, forehead lined with sweat. “Darling! James asked you to meet him in the boy's dormitory. It’s nice and empty for ya.” He slurs, stumbling over his feet.
Your cheeks flush red and you hurriedly thank Sirius before pushing your way through the crowd, breathing a sigh of relief when you make it into the dormitory.
It’s empty and you stand awkwardly in the middle, turning in a circle as you take in all the bits and bobs around the place.
There’s only one bed made, most likely Remus’s, and clothes are strewn across the floor.
“I’m sorry, I told the boys to clean up in here.” You almost jump out of your skin at the sound of James’s voice. Turning around, you take in his sweaty hair and flushed cheeks.
“It’s okay.” You mutter quietly, watching as he comes closer.
He goes to hug you but stops. “Sorry, let me have a shower.” He points to a messy bed, “Take a seat, I’ll be quick.”
The door shuts behind him and you do as he instructed, tidying his bed up a bit, first. Ten minutes later he comes barreling in, cheeks flushed from the hot shower.
He sits down next to you, wrapping his arms around your shoulders as he places a gentle kiss on your forehead.
“I feel like I haven't hugged you in ages. How are you, Love?”
“I’m okay. How are you?”
“I’m amazing.”
He kisses you, it’s soft and gentle but you can’t get those nagging thoughts out of your head.
James notices, of course, he does. “You seem tense, you sure you’re okay?”
You tense even more and he pulls away slightly, brows furrowed in concern.
“Are you okay?” He asks again.
“I- We’re not going to have sex, right?” You blurt, wincing immediately.
He pulls away completely. “No. I just missed you, haven't seen you much tonight so I thought we could have some quiet time together, I know you don’t like parties. I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable, that wasn't my intention. I just missed you.”
Your cheeks flush and you shove them into your hands. “No, I’m sorry, I’m so stupid.”
He gently prys your hands apart, “Hey, no. I would’ve thought the same thing, too. But we’re not having sex until I become your boyfriend and we talk about what we’re comfortable with, okay?” “You want to be my boyfriend?” You ask shyly, a small smile forming on your lips.
“Of course, You’re incredible. Why wouldn’t I want to be?”
You hesitate, “I have a lot of insecurities, James, and I don’t want to burden you with them.”
He scoffs, “You could never burden me.” He lays down beside you, reaching out so you’re forced to rest your chin on his chest, legs tangled with yours.
You scoff, earning a stern glare from James.
You change topics, “So when are you going to be my boyfriend?” You question teasingly.
He sighs playfully, “Well, I was going to ask you on our next date.”
Your eyebrows raise, “Our next date?” He nods. “I’ll bring your favourite food if you promise to ask me to be your girlfriend, okay? "He smiles, “It’s a deal.” Returning his smile, you lean in for a kiss, relishing in his warmth. Neither of you notices the time go by, too captivated by each other.

It's a shame Hermione and Albus never got to be friends.
Intelligent, enjoy writing papers, first year was rough as they were social outcasts with their noses buried in books... Seem to want to solve problems 'logically' yet often let their strong emotions drag them forwards... liked a Durmstrang boy...
Hermione was trying to drag Remus into caring about S.P.E.W.... ...but she really should have been chatting to Albus about it. He already cares about House Elves. He stood up for Kreacher, says Hermione is RIGHT, takes in abandoned Elves, HIRES Dobby...
What he has that Hermione doesn't is experience and wisdom.
Hermione has good ideas but we see her trying to force House Elves to do what she thinks is best. Albus knows it is better to suggest options and let them have agency in their own lives. He offers Dobby fair wages - and accepts when he wants lower.
What Albus CAN'T do is be a figurehead. He can't be 'The Elf Guy'. But Hermione WANTS to be that!!! Albus can endorse it!!!
I think the potential for these two to be a cute Mentor-Mentee duo is through the roof. She is firey, surprising, clever, a little unhinged - in all the ways Albus seems to love in Harry, she would delight him with her energy... and he is calm, cool and the sort of wise Hermione would listen to raptly, absorb like a sponge. Like a living book. If only Albus allowed himself to have friends

Hey love!
Was wondering if you could write a poly!maurader x fem!reader fic where (boys being boys) they had a bet who could go longer without sex and about a week reader decided to tease them a lil bit where she would flirt or like bend over to pick up smtg.
Thanks for requesting lovely!
cw: mature themes
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1k words
It’s so boy of them to discount you like this. Like, the bet had been funny at first, each of your boyfriends doing whatever they could to put the others in hot and heavy situations with you and each other, but after you and Sirius had gotten locked in a closet for the better part of an afternoon, they’d decided to take things down a notch. And as far as you’re concerned, that was when the fun part came to an end.
The thing is, they’re guys. While they’re having their little stint of celibacy, they can at least still get themselves off. Multiple times a day, if they feel like it. It’s not that easy for you. So for you to not even have been involved in the bet, and yet be the one feeling its consequences most acutely…well, it’s beginning to grate on your nerves.
So you decide to make it fun again.
“Oh, shit.” You say, getting James’ attention from where he’s going through the closet, trying to find a pair of pants to wear. “I dropped my wand under the bed.”
He moves towards you. “I’ll get it for you, lovie.”
“No, no, that’s alright.” You say, getting down on your hands and knees. “I’ve got it.”
James falls silent as you arch your back under the pretense of reaching under the bed, letting your short skirt slip up to show the pretty, barely-there panties you’d picked out this morning. You linger for a bit longer than necessary, letting James take in the view from where he stands across from the bed.
“Got it.” You emerge with the wand, sitting back on your legs and turning to James with a smile.
His mouth is slightly open. He blinks, eyes dazed and pupils blown behind his lenses. “That’s, uh…” He blinks a few more times, faster. “That’s great, sweetheart. Glad you found it.”
♡ ♡ ♡
“Gods.” Sirius nearly chokes when he sees you in the kitchen. “You’re looking nice today, angel.”
You almost roll your eyes. You’re only wearing a tank top and underwear, but apparently that’s all it takes when your boyfriend’s been so long without any of you. Instead, you plaster on a coy smile.
“Thanks,” you say, as though you hadn’t noticed. “You look nice, too.”
Sirius is making eyes at you as he leans his elbows on the counter. Like you’re the one who needs to worry. “Whatcha making, sweet thing?”
“Chocolate mousse. I’m just working on melting the chocolate right now.” You dip your forefinger into the warm, gooey liquid, bringing it to your mouth and sucking the chocolate off. You keep your eyes on Sirius’, so you can see the exact moment when his darken. “Mmm, want to try?”
Sirius swallows. “Huh?”
You don’t bother looking innocuous, letting your eyes go droopy and suggestive in the way you know how. “I said, do you want some?”
He’s silent for so long you think he might ask you to repeat yourself again, but then he clears his throat and stammers, “Uh, no—no thanks, doll. I’m good.”
You pout. “It’s really good, though. Here, have a taste.” You cross the few steps between you and kiss him.
Sirius takes a second to kiss you back, but when he does it’s so wanting that you don’t even have to be sneaky about winding one of your hands into his hair while using the other to bring his to your ass. He squeezes, and you moan into his mouth, grinding your hips into his just slightly.
Sirius gasps, breaking away. He takes one step back, then another, putting distance between you as he tries to blink the glaze from his eyes. “Minx,” he whispers accusingly, and flees the kitchen.
♡ ♡ ♡
“Thanks, baby.” You bat your eyelashes up at Remus as he brings you a glass of water from the kitchen.
He lets out a low chuckle. “I know what you’re doing.”
“No idea what you’re talking about,” you hum.
Remus gives you a deadpan look, but there’s a glint of amusement in his amber eyes. “Earlier this morning, I went into our bedroom to find James, pantsless, with a hard-on.” It takes every ounce of control you have not to grin, but Remus quirks a brow like you have anyway. “And then a little while ago, Sirius came running out of the kitchen like something was chasing him, and he could barely speak. You didn’t have anything to do with that, dovey?”
You let your eyes go wide and innocent as you shake your head. “Maybe they’re just getting sick of your competition.”
“Mm, unlikely,” Remus hums, and his surety of his own willpower only worsens your determination to make him falter. “But if that’s the story you want to stick with, that’s fine.”
You frown at him, the glass of water slippery with condensation in your palm. “Well, I—oh, damn!” you tip the glass of water into Remus’ lap, soaking his pants. He freezes, gasping at the cold. “I’m so sorry, honey. Here, let me help.” Luckily for you, you’d (completely coincidentally, of course) left a tea towel nearby earlier. You take it, blotting at Remus’ crotch with touches that start urgent but become lingering as you go on. After a minute, there’s really nothing left to sop up, and Remus hands are laid flat on the couch, every inch of him tense as you dab at his bulge with slow, tantalizing touches.
When he speaks, his voice is low, gravelly. “You’re a lot more conniving than we give you credit for, you know that?”
You let your lips curl into a smile, leaving your hand to rest on his crotch. “I know.”
Remus tips his head back, letting his eyes slip closed as he takes a slow, deep breath. “Fuck it.”
You blink. “Huh?”
In the next second, Remus is gripping your hips and hoisting you up against him, your chest pressed to his. You inhale sharply as he stands, wrapping your legs around his waist, and he’s kissing at your throat, master of multitasking while he carries you into the bedroom.
He nips at your jaw, and you giggle deliriously. “I won?” you ask, hardly believing it. Of all your boyfriends, you thought Remus had the least chance of breaking down before the others.
His chuckle reverberates through you, and warmth flares in your core in response. “Sure you did, sweetheart. Though I think by the time we’re done here, who exactly won will be a bit more debatable.”

Moony's Song - Songwriter!Remus x Reader
AN - I have never spent so long writing a fic as I have this one. It's by far one of my favourite things that I have ever created and I hope that you guys like it as much as I do. This is a repost as I originally posted this fic a few weeks ago but it wasn't showing up in any of the tags so hopefully this time it works haha.
A really big thank you to @thepunisherfrankcastle for this incredible idea - i truly loved writing it.
Songwriter!Remus x Reader - Fluff
6.2k words.
Remus was slouched over on the sofa in the grotty basement of the house that he shared with his best friends. His elbows were resting on his knees as he peered down at the pad of paper that was clutched between his fingers. The page was covered in Sirius’s messy scrawl and the corner of Remus’s mouths tugged upwards as he read.
“’As black as a raven’s wing?’” Remus read, trying to supress a laugh, “I think you should maybe leave the songwriting to me, Pads.” Sirius rolled his eyes in response, walking over to Remus and snatching the paper from his hands.
“Let’s see what you’ve written, then.” He jokingly demanded, cocking a brow at him.
Remus reached down into the rucksack that lay by his feet. He fished around inside and pulled out a leatherbound notebook. The cover was battered, the corners were bent and he thumbed through it trying to find the most recent page. He handed it to Sirius and stared down at his hands as the other boy read the lyrics he’d written. His fingers were speckled with ink, the result of a whirlwind of thoughts that had taken over his brain.
“I don’t know why you don’t just join the band.” Sirius sighed, flopping down next to him on the sofa. He had handed the notebook to James who was now reading over it, idly twizzling a drumstick between his fingers as he did so.
“Because,” he started “I’m not musical like you two are.”
“Oh, come on, Moony. We both know you play the guitar better than Sirius.” James laughed.
“Yeah, well, that’s not hard, is it?” Remus grinned cheekily. Sirius swatted him on the back of the head.
“I’m being serious.” Sirius, who had never been serious a day in his life, said. Remus just rolled his eyes at him.
“It’s just not for me. Y’know, getting on stage in front of loads of people, being in the spotlight.” Remus grimaced. He took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and put one in his mouth.
“S’ a great way to meet girls though.” Sirius winked at him, reaching into his own pocket to take out a lighter and lighting the Remus’s cigarette for him.
“And the parties are pretty good.” James added.
“I don’t care about girls and the parties. I just like writing the music,” he shrugged, leaning back on the sofa, his head resting against the back of it as he stared up at the ceiling.
James, who was sat at his drumkit opposite them, shot a mischievous look at Sirius, who grinned back at him.
“The girls and the parties are the best part about being in a band!” Sirius pressed, taking the cigarette from between Remus’s lips and putting it between his own.
“You’re vile, you know that, right?” Remus smacked him on the back of the head, just like Sirius did to him earlier. Sirius barked out a laugh, unbothered.
“C’mon, mate, just one party.” James suggested, “I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. It’ll do you good to get out of your comfort zone.”
Y/N laid across the sofa in the flat that she shared with her best friend. She had her legs curled up and her body leaning against the plush arm as her eyes fluttered shut. Her headphones sat snugly over her ears, the music she was playing humming softly. She would often sit like this, just absorbing the music, really appreciating every lyric as it washed over her.
She was distracted from her listening when her best friend burst through the door. Lily was stood in front of her, ginger hair cascading across her shoulders and her eyes shining wildly.
“Woah. Have you just won the lottery or something?” Y/N asked, removing her headphones and resting them around her neck, “What’s got you all excited?”
“It’s pretty much just as good as.” she grinned, taking a seat next to her on the sofa. She tucked her knees up and rested her chin on them as she spoke, “I think I’ve just got us invited to the party of the century.”
“What are you talking about, Lils?”
“So, you know that guy I work with that has a friend that’s in a band?” Lily explained, “Well, they’re having a big party tomorrow night and he asked if me and you wanted to come.”
“No way!” Y/N said, “That’s so cool!”
“Babe. There’s more...” Lily paused for dramatic effect, “the band is The Marauders.”
Y/N’s jaw dropped and her eyes widened, she sat up a bit straighter. The Marauders were a band that the two had listened to for a while now, after stumbling across one of their singles as they browsed a record shop one day.
“You’re joking. You have a friend who knows the Marauders and you’ve only just found out?”
Lily nodded quickly, her lips pulled into a huge smile.
“So, we’re going then, yeah?”
Lily glanced down at the piece of paper that her coworker had scribbled the address of the party on as she looked out the window of the taxi. The night was cool and the girls wrapped their jackets a bit tighter around themselves as they got out of the car. The house that they had arrived at was already bustling with people, the party well underway as Lily had insisted that they turned up fashionably late. People were spilling out onto the street and sprawling across the front lawn that was littered with empty cans and bottles.
As the pair wandered inside, music pumped from large speakers and the air was tinged with cigarette smoke. Lily grabbed on to the hand of her best friend and guided her through the house into the kitchen.
“There must be something to drink in here,” she muttered as her eyes roamed over the room.
“Lil, we can’t just come to a party and drink other people's beer!” Y/N laughed. Lily just giggled and rolled her eyes, turning her attention to the fridge. She swung the door open and rummaged around for a moment before spinning back around holding two beers victoriously in her hands.
“Just help yourself to those, it’s fine!” a voice spoke out from behind them.
Both girls' heads snapped round, caught red handed, beer bottles halfway to their lips. The voice belonged to a man who was stood with arms folded across his chest and a cigarette dangling from his lips. His dark hair just brushed his shoulders, falling down in messy waves and his glinted as he put to fingers up to his lips to remove his cigarette.
“You’re-” Y/N stood there in shock as she registered who the man was.
“Yep.” he said, cutting her off “And those are my beers you’re drinking.”
“Oh, come on-” Lily tried to argue with him but she was cut off when another man entered the room and interjected.
“Stop being a dick, Sirius.” the man walked in and nudged Sirius playfully as he walked past, “Help yourself to what you want, girls.”
He leaned back against the kitchen counter, strong arms bracing himself as he reached for another beer. Like his friend, he also had dark hair, but his fell messily in curls across his forehead. He was larger in build, his toned stomach and arms on show in the cut off t-shirt he was wearing. He took a swig of his beer as his eyes looked over the two girls stood in front of him.
“I’m James, by the way.” he flashed them a smile, “Ignore Sirius, he can be a proper diva sometimes,”
“I was only joking.” Sirius huffed, taking a drag of his cigarette.
“I’m Lily.” she introduced herself, “and this is Y/N.” she gestured to her friend.
“Nice to meet you,” Y/N smiled, “Sorry about the beers.”
“Don’t mention it. It’d be a pretty shit party if we didn’t let people have a drink.” James laughed, his eyes lingering on Lily.
“Help yourself to the stuff in the fridge,” Sirius said, apologetic smile on his face as he looked at James out of the corner of his eye. His vision quickly snapped to a girl that walked past the doorway and he hastily excused himself before walking over to her and wrapping an arm around her waist.
“He’s a menace, that bloke.” James chuckled, rolling his eyes at Sirius, who now had the girl tangled in his arms.
“S’not surprising, that’s the joy of being in a band, right?” Lily laughed. She looked at Y/N out the corner of her eye, sensing the fact that she was a bit awestruck. Y/N took a large gulp of her beer, hoping that it would calm her nerves. Lily was always so cool and collected in situations like this.
“I suppose you’re right,” he nodded, his fingers tapping against the bottle in his hand, “D’you girls wanna come with me and we’ll find a seat somewhere?”
They agreed, and Lily and Y/N shot an excited look at each other as they followed James in to the living room.
“Oh my god!” Lily mouthed.
“I know!” Y/N whispered back.
The living room was a whole lot busier than the kitchen, people were draped across sofas, leaning against the walls, smoking, drinking, chatting. The music blared out and the atmosphere was electric. James kicked a couple of people off one of the sofas and settled down on it, gesturing for Y/N and Lily to join him. They chatted for a while, Y/N explaining that her and Lily were a fan of his band and how they had discovered them. James beamed at them as they spoke, leaning forward intently to what they had to say. Y/N grinned at her best friend, noticing that James seemed to be staring a whole lot at the red-haired girl.
“I’m gonna go get another beer,” Y/N excused herself, winking at Lily over her shoulder as she left her alone with James.
She wandered back into the kitchen. It was surprisingly clean to say it belonged to a group of boys in a band. The overhead light had been turned off and the kitchen was only illuminated by the light spilling in from the hallway. Y/N jumped as someone opened the fridge, the light further brightening the kitchen.
“Shit.” she said, startled, “I didn’t realise there was anyone in here.”
The person at the fridge turned around and smiled, a bottle in his hand.
“Sorry,” he smiled smally, “Was trying to escape the crowds a bit. Beer?”
He held an open bottle out to her, and she took it, leaning against the counter.
“Thanks.” she smiled, “Not a big fan of parties, then?”
The man shook his head, hoisting himself up onto the counter on the opposite side of the kitchen. His long legs hung over the edge, his boot-clad feet a few inches from skimming the floor. He ran a hand through his hair, messily fluffing it up. His features were sharp in the low light of the kitchen, and he nibbled on his lip awkwardly.
“S’not really my thing, to be honest.” he admitted, “My friends wanted me to come so...”
“I’m here with my friend too, but she’s sat in there talking to James, so I thought I’d leave them too it.”
Remus smiled understandingly, he fiddled with the cap of his bottle in his fingers, turning it over and over in his hand.
“That’s why most girls come to these things, I think.” He laughed a little bit, “You haven’t fallen for their charm then, no?”
“Nah. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love their music, I mean their lyrics-”
“Their lyrics?” Remus interrupted, the bottle cap dropping to the floor with a quiet clatter.
“Yeah? I’m assuming you listen to them, right?” Y/N answered, “Their lyrics are like, another level. You know that one line that’s like ‘I’d forgotten what it felt like to be alone.’”
“’But now I know how it feels to wish I never came home.’” Remus continued, “Yeah, I know it.”
“Something about that line, it just…I know it’s not the most crazy thing in the world but it just sounds like it really means something to them.” she explained, her eyes lighting up in excitement, “I just genuinely really love their music.”
Remus smiled, silently thanking God for the room being gloomy so that she couldn’t see the blush that had made its way onto his cheeks. Not many people knew that Remus wrote the songs for his friends' band, and he wanted to keep it that way. He hated being in the spotlight and he never ever wanted that to change. Though, something about the way that Y/N was talking about their lyrics, his lyrics, made him want to shout it from the rooftops. He smiled at the way her eyes seemed to be glowing and how she would gesture wildly with her hands when she made references to the songs that he’d written.
It felt like they had been talking for hours, holed away in the kitchen drinking bottle after bottle of beer. They exchanged bands that they liked, their favourite songs, recommended each other albums. Remus had never hit it off with someone like this before, it felt nice to have such a meaningful conversation. Their discussion only came to a halt when three familiar faces entered the room.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here then?” Sirius smirked, leaning against the doorway.
“We wondered where you’d gotten to, Moony.” James said, his arm wrapped around Lily’s shoulder.
“Didn’t want to intrude on you two,” Y/N laughed, gesturing to Lily and James, “You looked all cosy so I came in to get another beer and I met – wait, I actually didn’t get your name?” Her eyes snapped to Remus who had hopped down from the kitchen counter at his friends’ arrival.
“Oh, that’s Remus he’s our s-” Sirius started.
“Friend!” Remus quickly interrupted, “and housemate.”
Sirius and James exchanged a quick glance at each other, the curly haired boy jabbing his bandmate in the ribs.
“Right.” Sirius nodded, “Our friend. Best friend even.”
“I’m gonna go find the bathroom, want to come with?” Lily asked, looking at her best friend and cocking her head towards the door. Y/N agreed, and the two girls pushed their way upstairs into one of the bathrooms.
Locking the door behind them, Lily leaned against it, her face absolutely beaming.
“Oh my God.” she said, putting her hands up to her face excitedly.
“I know.” Y/N smiled, “Remus seems so nice, we seem to have really hit it off, you know.”
“Same with James and I.” Lily smiled, going over to the mirror and looking at her reflection, “He’s really hot.”
“Agreed. I didn’t realise that Remus was friends with them. Weird because all we’ve really talked about is music and he never mentioned it.”
“James said he was quite shy, he said he never usually comes to their parties and that him and Sirius had to convince him to come tonight. From the way he was looking at you, I bet he’s pretty glad that he did.” Lily looked at her friend excitedly in the mirror. She reached into her bag and pulled out her lipstick, reapplying it and quickly fixing her hair.
The morning after the party, the three boys were stood in the kitchen, James was holding open a bin bag and Remus was throwing away the empty bottles and cups that were strewn over the sides. Sirius, being his usual self, was being absolutely no help and was sat on the counter with a cigarette balanced between his lips and a cup of coffee in hand.
“Did you get her number then?” Sirius grinned looking at James.
“Lily? Yeah, I did.” James smiled, his mop of curls falling messily into his eyes, “she’s great, I don’t think I’ve ever met a girl like her, you know?” Sirius rolled his eyes playfully in response and pretended to gag.
“You’re so wet sometimes, Jamie.” he said, “What about you, Moony? You spent half the night sat in here with her friend.”
Remus frowned and shook his head, throwing yet another empty bottle into the bag.
“Nah. She didn’t give it me and I was too nervous to ask.”
“Not to worry, mate.” James clapped him on the back, “We’re seeing them next week anyway. I said to Lily that we’ll all go out for a drink on Friday.”
“You did? Why?”
“’Cause Lily is sweet and I want to get to know her better, and you were practically drooling over Y/N.”
“I wasn’t drooling.” Remus protested.
“Rem, you literally went straight to your room after they left and started writing a song about her.” Sirius laughed and stubbed his cigarette out in the ashtray by his side.
Although it was true, Remus couldn’t help the blush that spread across his cheeks. He was absolutely infatuated by Y/N. He’d never had a girl that was interested in him before. On the odd occasion that he did attend one of the parties that his friends hosted, no girls would ever make the effort with him like Y/N did, they usually just flocked towards Sirius and James, and he was just seen as their friend and housemate. He often wondered if he would be treated differently if people knew that it was him that wrote a lot of the songs that the band played, that it was his mind behind the lyrics that his friends sang. The lyrics that Y/N loved.
Remus felt a pang in his stomach as he thought about it. About how Y/N loved the lyrics but had no idea that it was him that wrote them. He hated how she didn’t know that it was his thoughts that spilled onto the pages of music, that rolled off her tongue like honey when she quoted them to him. He was so desperate for her to know that it was all him and he felt so stupid that he didn’t just tell her that.
Friday came and Remus was nervous as the three of them walked into the pub. He wiped his clammy palms on his trousers as they waited at the bar for their drinks. He didn’t know why he felt so anxious about seeing Y/N again when they had got on so well at the party.
The three of them settled on a booth table in the back of the pub, all of them cramming into one side so that the girls could sit opposite them when they arrived. Remus was leaning forward, his chin rested on his hand as he started intently at the bubbles that fizzed in his pint. His eyes snapped up when he saw Y/N arrive, sliding into the booth and sitting directly opposite from him.
“Hey!” she smiled brightly, “Nice to re-meet you all again now we’re all slightly more sober.”
“Not for much longer, probably,” James chuckled, picking up his pint glass and clinking it against Y/N and Lily’s.
“Sirius has only just about sobered up from the party.” Remus quipped, smirking at the dark-haired boy. Y/N laughed at his joke, much to Sirius’s annoyance.
“He comes to one party and now he’s giving it the big one.” Sirius rolled his eyes, smiling slightly. Remus’s hand that wasn’t holding his drink was resting on his lap, his fingers tapping away nervously as he tried to think of something to say. Y/N looked at Remus from across the table and smiled at him.
“I’ve only just gotten over my hangover to be honest. I feel like I singlehandedly drank all of the beer that was in your fridge.” Y/N laughed.
“I feel like I gave you a solid hand, to be honest.” Remus grinned.
“Yeah, I reckon I’ve found my new drinking partner. Sorry, Lil.” Y/N winked at her best friend. “Speaking of beer, I’m going to go grab one, d’you guys want anything?”
“Same again, please.” Sirius smiled, fishing into his pocket for a note and handing it to her, “Rem, you’re sat on the end, go help, will you?”
As Remus stood up to go to the bar, Y/N was already halfway there. Sirius shot a wink at him as he departed. Y/N leaned confidently against the bar as she ordered, resting her hand against her chin as she made small talk with the barman. Remus slid in next to her, his hip bumping against hers.
“It’s nice to see you again.” Y/N smiled, looking up at him.
“Yeah, you too. I’m glad you and Lily came, James seems really keen on her.”
“Oh, good because she genuinely hasn’t stopped speaking about him since they met.
“Yeah, he has that effect on girls.” Remus chuckled, reaching into his pocket for his pack of cigarettes and fiddling with the box as they waited for their drinks.
“I have something for you, actually.” Y/N took a piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to him, her fingers brushing against his, lingering for a second before letting go. Remus unfolded it and his eyes darted across the page, quickly skimming over the words.
“It’s a list of all the albums I recommended to you at the party. I figured that you might have forgotten some with how drunk we were.” she explained, “Also, I hope you don’t mind but I wrote my number on their as well because I’m expecting you to call me and tell me your thoughts on each one.”
His cheeks turned pink and he quickly slipped the paper into his pocket.
“I did the same for you!” Remus exclaimed, pulling his own scrap of paper from his pocket and handing it to her, “There were a few albums I forgot to tell you about and I really think you’ll like them.”
Y/N’s mouth opened in shock, and she pulled Remus in for a clumsy hug. Over her shoulder, he saw James and Sirius grinning and giving him a thumbs up and Lily who had made a heart shape with her hands.
“She gave you her number?” Sirius asked excitedly as soon as they got home from the pub, “Well in, Moony.”
“You guys looked pretty cosy up at the bar as well.” James added. Remus shrugged, picking up his notebook that was laying on the table.
“I think you should just call her and ask her out on a date.” Sirius said bluntly, “What have you got to lose? What’s the worst that could happen?”
“My dignity? Being rejected by the potential girl of my dreams?” Remus said dramatically, scribbling something down, the pen scratching against the paper.
“What are you going to do then? Just write songs about her in the hopes that she one day hears them? C’mon, Moony!” Sirius exclaimed.
It was around a week later when Remus finally plucked up the courage to give Y/N a call – after much nagging from his two best friends. He paced his room nervously as the phone rang and rang and rang. His heart was pounding in his chest and he debated just hanging up.
“Hello?” Lily’s voice answered.
“Oh, er, hi Lily. It’s Remus, I was just wondering if-”
“Y/N!” Lily shouted cutting him off, “dream boy is on the phone.”
Remus blushed as he heard her say that. He heard a slap on the other side of the phone and Y/N’s voice hissing at her friend to shut up. Lily’s laugh rang out in the background.
“Sorry about that,” Y/N laughed nervously.
“It’s fine. Don’t worry,” Remus chuckled, “did you just hit her?”
“Yeah I did. She’s my best friend, I get full rights to hit her whenever she tries to embarrass me.”
“I didn’t know that. I’ll keep that in mind next time James and Sirius try to wind me up.”
“It’s a solid loophole.” Y/N said matter-of-factly, “So, why’d you call?”
“You gave me your number, that’s how it works isn’t it?” Remus joked, his shoulders starting to relax a little. He perched on the edge of his bed, twizzling the phone cord around his fingers, “I listened to the albums you recommended. I didn’t think I’d meet anyone with a music taste that’s nearly as good as mine.”
“Nearly as good?” She echoed, pretending to be offended, “are you questioning my music taste now?”
“I mean, yours is good. I’m just not sure it’s quite as good as mine.” Remus said, smirk evident in his voice, “that being said, I’m not done with you yet.”
Y/N laughed and Remus smiled to himself. He loved when he made her laugh. Girls never usually found him funny when he was with James and Sirius. James had a sort of silly charm about him that girls seemed to adore, and Sirius was viciously witty when he wanted to be. Remus's dry, sarcastic sense of humour had never really been a hit with girls, and it was refreshing for him to have someone that matched his energy.
They chatted for hours. Remus sprawled out over his bed, his records scattered around him as he pored over lyrics. They read snippets out to each other from their favourite albums, occasionally playing a song loud enough for the other to hear it on the other end of the phone. He imagined Y/N sitting in her room, cross legged on the floor, record player set out in front of her. He pictured her smiling, tapping her fingers along to the music she was playing, jotting down names of songs and lines of lyrics as he reeled them off to her.
Remus of course, was doing the same. His battered leather notebook resting in his lap, holding the phone between his ear and his shoulder as he scribbled down messily.
“It’s just... it sounds dumb but sometimes when I’m listening to certain songs, I relate to it so strongly it feels like it was written for me. Y’know, as if the artist had me in mind while writing it.” Y/N said.
“I know exactly what you mean.” Remus flicked back through the pages of his notebook, his eyes dancing over the lyrics and half-finished songs that he’d written about her. He frowned momentarily, an ache forming in his stomach when he realised that she might not ever hear the songs that he’d written for her. He barely knew the girl but the lyrics flowed so freely when he wrote about her. He wanted desperately for her to know exactly how he felt about her, exactly who he was. Remus’s mind started to run away with his thoughts, and for a moment, he lost himself in his fantasy. Imagining her listening to one of the songs, one of her songs, listening to the words he had written for her, singing along to the melody he had crafted while she was on his mind.
The pair’s phone calls became a nightly occurrence. They would take it in turns to ring each other, make polite small talk about their days and then spend hours upon hours chatting freely. Remus quickly became comfortable with her, his personality starting to shine through as his confidence grew.
Sirius and James started to notice this and began to invite Y/N to everything that they did, knowing that Remus would need a bit of extra encouragement before he actually asked her out on his own.
The five of them were currently sat in the boys’ basement. James and Lily snuggled up together on one sofa, Y/N, Remus and Sirius on another. This had become a regular occurrence since James and Lily had become a bit of an item, and how the rest of the group were trying to get Y/N and Remus together.
“Chuck my pack of cigs, James.” Sirius asked, gesturing to the box that lay beside the curly haired boy.
“S’empty, Pads.” James replied, not even bothering to check, “Rem took the last one.”
Sirius’ head snapped round to look at Remus, his mouth open in shock. He got up and grabbed the empty packet from the sofa and chucked it at Remus.
“You cheeky little prick,” an amused smile played on his lips “You know the rules. You finish ‘em, you buy ‘em.”.
“I’ll go.” Y/N said, standing up. “I can grab some snacks and some beers and stuff while I’m there. Anyone fancy coming with?”
Y/N glanced at Remus quickly, his gaze was fixed on cigarette packet that Sirius threw at him, he fiddled with it idly, flicking it open and shut repeatedly. Her eyes darted around the room before landing on Lily who quickly got to her feet and agreed to go with her.
“You’re so fucking thick, Moony.” Sirius said after the two girls had left.
“What?”
“She was making a move, idiot.” James laughed, sitting up straight, “she wanted you to go with her.”
“How’d you come to that conclusion then?”
“Let me re-enact it for you.” Sirius moved to stand in front of Remus, “Oh, I wonder if anyone would like to come to the shop with me,” Sirius acted dramatically, pretending to stare lovingly at Remus.
“Give over, Pads.” Remus sighed, “She’s not interested in me like that.”
“You’re joking, right?” James chuckled, “Have you actually lost your mind? Why do you think she keeps coming over with Lily?”
“Girls like that just aren’t interested in me, James.” Remus said, “She’ll just be here because of Lily.” He crushed the empty cigarette packet in his hands as he spoke.
“Remus. I’m speaking to you as your best friend-.”
“Oi!” Sirius protested.
“Sorry! Remus. I’m speaking to you as one of your best friends.” James corrected himself, rolling his eyes at Sirius. “You two speak to each other on the phone every single night. For hours.”
“She laughs at all your stupid jokes.” Sirius continued. “The last ten times her and Lily have been around here she can barely take her eyes off of you.”
“For the love of God, please just tell her that you like her.” James insisted.
That was how, in the twenty minutes that the girls had left to go to the shop, the boys had devised a plan on how Remus was going to tell Y/N about how he felt.
“Operation ‘Get Moony His Dream Girl’ is a go!” James said as he heard the front door open as Y/N and Lily arrived back at the house.
If there was one thing about James and Sirius, it was if there was an opportunity to meddle in their best friend’s love life, then you better believe they were going to meddle. That was how Y/N and Lily had ended up with tickets to the bands next concert.
“So, what’s the plan then?” Sirius asked, as he plucked at the strings of his guitar.
“We learn Moony’s song. We play it at the gig and hopefully Y/N realises that it’s about her and that he’s absolutely besotted with her.” James explained.
“He’ll hate that idea. There’s no way that he’ll agree to let us do it.”
“Yeah, that’s why we’re not going to tell him, Pads.”
“You’re such a little rascal sometimes. I love it.” Sirius grinned.
It was easy for the pair to practice the song without Remus knowing. They would sneak down to the basement while he was on the phone to Y/N and play it over and over until it was perfect.
“It’s hard work being match-makers, isn’t it?” Sirius said, grabbing some beers from the fridge and popping the tops off. He handed one to James who took a large gulp as he slumped against his drumkit.
“It’ll all be worth it.” He grinned, clinking his beer against Sirius’s.
James was right, Remus was none the wiser. He had absolutely no idea what the bands setlist was, he just put it down to the pair being extremely unorganised and indecisive. He didn’t even know that the girls were coming until James accidentally let it slip while they were sound checking.
“I spoke to Y/N on the phone last night and she didn’t mention that they were coming.” Remus frowned. He was sat on the edge of the stage, his legs hanging over the edge while his friends prepared their equipment for the concert.
“Maybe she just wanted to surprise you.” Sirius shrugged, his fingers skimming over the strings of his guitar as he tuned it.
“As a matter of fact, you didn’t mention that they were coming!” Remus accused, glaring at them both.
“Surprise?” James said cheekily.
While the concert was in progress, Remus usually watched from the side of the stage, not being one for big crowds of people. He leaned against the wall, looking out at his two friends whose stage presence seemed almost effortless. Sirius looked so at ease with a microphone at his lips and a guitar hanging at his hips. He spoke to the crowd easily, introducing song after song, dropping in the odd joke here and there. James was the same, microphone set up next to his drum kit so that he could sing along and interact with Sirius. His body sheened with sweat, and he winked at Remus as he locked eyes with him.
James jutted his head towards the crowd and Remus’s eyes followed in the direction of the front row. His eyes scanned across the barrier quickly before his gaze settled on two familiar faces. Y/N and Lily were stood front and centre, huge grins plastered on their faces. Y/N was leaning against the metal railing, her eyes fixated on the band and her lips moving in sync with the music. Remus thought that he’d never seen someone look so pretty. The way her eyes glittered with the reflection of the stage lights, the way her body swayed in time with the music. He was broken from his trance when he heard James and Sirius start speaking, his eyes snapping back to them.
“This is our last song and we’ve got a bit of a treat for you tonight, so you should all count yourselves lucky.” Sirius smirked, looking out across the sea of people.
“This is the first time we’ve played this song live. In fact, it’s the first time any of you will have heard this song.” James grinned, raking a hand through his damp curls.
Remus’s brow furrowed. He wasn’t aware that the two had written any new songs, let alone had them polished and practiced enough ready to perform live. He shot a quizzical look at his friends, who just smiled mischievously back at him.
His stomach dropped as he heard the first few notes that Sirius played, he thought he was going to throw up when the lyrics fell from his lips. They were playing his song. Y/N’s song.
He frantically looked over at Y/N, searching her face for any indication that she knew that the song was about her. He couldn’t see properly now the lights had dimmed and his heart was pounding in his chest as the crowd broke out into applause as Sirius and James walked off stage.
“James! Sirius!” he exclaimed, as the pair walked past him to set their equipment down.
“We only answer to ‘Cupid’ now.” Sirius said smugly, strapping his guitar back into his case.
“You can thank us properly later, Moony, yeah?” James said, flashing him another wink, “I’ve got to and find Lily. C’mon, Pads.”
Remus didn’t even have time to protest as he watched his friends disappear in the direction of the bar. He went to race after them, but he was stopped in his tracks as someone latched on to his arm.
“Was it about me?” Y/N’s voice spoke. Remus turned around slowly, a sinking feeling present in his stomach.
“W-what?” Remus stammered
“That song. Was it about me?” Y/N persisted. She was stood right in front of him now, barely inches away from him. Her eyes were twinkling but she had her bottom lip pulled between her teeth.
“I - I don’t - I didn’t know they were-”
Remus’s flustering was cut short by Y/N smashing her lips against his. He gasped as her soft lips enveloped his own, heart racing. He steadied his shaky hands by resting them on her hips.
“I didn’t know you wrote the songs.” Y/N breathed, finally pulling away. Remus nodded, at a loss for words. A blush had made itself at home on his cheeks and he knew that it wasn’t going to shift anytime soon.
“I didn’t know you liked me like that.” Remus choked out finally. Y/N’s eyebrows shot up and she let out a laugh.
“Here I was thinking that I was making it obvious.” she laughed, “Why didn’t you tell me that you were their songwriter? We literally spent hours talking about their lyrics, your lyrics!”
“Because I’m an idiot apparently.” Remus smiled, looking at her fondly, “I didn’t know how to say it. I don’t like the spotlight and the attention like the others do. Not many people know.”
“I’m glad I know now.”
“Me too.” He caught her lips with his again, for longer this time. Remus felt the tension leave his body as he melted into her. His hands on her waist and her arms around his neck. A sigh of relief escaped his lips as it dawned on him that she finally knew who he was.

You hated Potions. Not just because it was your earliest class and you weren’t a morning person. But because you were absolutely dreadful at it. You insisted it wasn’t your fault. It was your partner’s. When Professor Slughorn decided to make Remus Lupin your partner, you knew it would be useless.
You were never able to concentrate with him sitting next to you. Maybe it was because he started wearing his hair differently this year. Or because he smelled stupidly good. Or how shy he got whenever he was around you. Or because he had the most beautiful smile you had ever seen. Or because his friends and your friends kept making stupid faces at you so you would make the first move.
Things got so bad, that Professor Slughorn suggested you got someone to tutor you for this class, and, much to your luck, Remus had volunteered himself to be said tutor. So, not only did you have to control yourself in his class, but now you were spending two afternoons a week with Remus at the Library or the Common Room, trying to listen to what he actually said, instead of getting lost in his beautiful smile.
“Are you listening to me?” Remus asked, suddenly snapping you out of your thoughts.
“I uh-” you said, sitting straight instead of resting your head on your hand. “Y-yes, of course, I was, Rem” you cleared your throat.
“Really?” Remus asked with a beautiful smirk. “Then what is the last ingredient you have to add to the Draught of Living Death before you stir it anti-clockwise?”
“Oh, uh- w-well, the um… the bean?” you tried with a small smile.
“Which bean?”
“I’m guessing not Bertie Bott’s beans?”
“No” he laughed adorably. “The Sopophorous Bean-”
“Sopophorous Bean” you quickly repeated. “See? That was my second guess!” you insisted and Remus glared at you a little. “I’m sorry, Remus” you sighed. “I know you probably have better things to do with your time than being stuck here trying to teach the unteachable” you laughed.
“Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself” he said, his look softening. “You’re not unteachable. You’re doing a lot better now” he encouraged you.
“Well, to be fair, it’s way more pleasant to look at you and listen to you than to Professor Slughorn” you said, loving the way his cheeks blushed a little.
“I’ll take that as a compliment” he chuckled.
“It was” you said, resting your head on your hand again and smiling at him. “Can I ask you something?”
“Uh, sure” he said, looking through his book.
“Why did you volunteer to tutor me?” you asked, interested.
“W-what do you mean?” he asked, nervously. “I mean, you needed help-”
“Well, yes, but I think everyone else would have run for the hills if they had to spend some time with me with fire and so many things that explode around” you shrugged.
“You’re not that bad” he laughed a little.
“Remus, I’ve burned more cauldrons than James and Sirius together” you reminded him.
“W-well, that may be true, but you’re really trying” he reminded you. “So, I’m happy to help as much as I can” he said with a small smile.
“Well, that’s very sweet of you, Rem” you said, making him look away. “I’m sorry, does it bother you when I call you that? I heard you telling Sirius once you didn’t like it-”
“N-no!” he replied quickly. The only reason he didn’t like Sirius calling him that, was because he did it mocking you. “I don’t mind when uh- when you call me that” he muttered nervously. “Sirius is… just an idiot” he said.
“Oh” you smiled. “Well, okay” you told him, sitting a little closer to him.
“Okay, so I think that’s it for today” he said, closing his book before turning to you again. “Anymore questions?”
“Yeah, just one” you said and Remus nodded for you to go on. “When are you going to ask me out?”
“Uh- w-what-? Um- I’m sorry?”
“Well, I was just… wondering if you were planning on ever asking me out?” you told him.
“Y-you want me to ask you out?”
“If you’d like” you smirked.
“Well, I um- I would like that, very much” he smiled.
“Really?” you asked, excitedly.
“Y-yeah, the only reason why I haven’t asked you is because, I wasn’t sure if y-you’d want me to” he said. “So, um… would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend? We can celebrate your ‘O’ on tomorrow’s exam” he said.
“I would love to go to Hogsmeade with you, Rem” you smiled. “But, I think you’re shooting for the stars, thinking I’ll get an ‘O’, I’ll be lucky if I get an ‘A’” you told him.
“We’ll see” he smiled.

“REMUS!”
Remus looked up from the book he was reading and he saw you run down the hallway at full speed, causing you to trip and fall but you quickly got back up, and composed yourself, ignoring the laughter and stares from everyone as you made your way to where he was standing with his friends.
“Are you okay, love?” Remus asked as soon as you reached them
“I’m fine- uh- d-did you just call me love?” you asked with a big smile on your face and feeling your heart flutter at the blush appearing on Remus’ cheeks.
“I uh- is that okay?”
“Yes, it is” you nodded happily.
“Uh, are you okay?” James asked.
“Yeah, that was a nasty fall” Sirius said, as he tried no to laugh.
“Oh, I’m fine” you assured them as you tried to compose yourself.
“You’re bleeding” Peter stated.
“I am?” you asked, looking at your knee. “Oh, well, whatever is not that bad! Guess what?” you asked excitedly turning back to Remus. “I GOT AN ‘E’!” you said, showing him the parchment in your hands.
“You got an ‘E’?” he asked, excitedly.
“In Potions?” Sirius asked, grabbing the exam from you and looking through it.
“I GOT AN ‘E’” you repeated wrapping your arms around his shoulders before you planted a big kiss on his lips. Remus was surprised for a second but he quickly wrapped his arms around your waist.
“I’m really proud of you, love” Remus said, leaning in for another kiss.
“Ew, get a room!” you heard Sirius yell when you pulled away and you noticed the blush on Remus’ cheeks was back.
“Fuck off, Black!”
The End

Okay! I have this fic idea. Wolfstar and Jegulus. Ready?
So, Remus and Sirius have been on/off dating since Hogwarts. They’re currently off and have been for the last year, the longest break they’ve had so far.
Regulus didn’t go to Hogwarts, and runs into Sirius one day at a cafe and they get to catching up. Regulus and James flirt but, despite prompting from Regulus, James won’t ask him out.
So once the brothers are vibing, maybe a month after re-meeting, Sirius introduces Regulus to Remus and they hit it off. Platonic Moonwater is living it up.
And then Regulus decides to introduce his friends to his brother and the others. They get along alright(ish) but Remus really hits it off with everyone (mostly…)
So Remus starts hanging out with the Slytherin Skittles more often.
Say like 2-3 months later and they’re all hanging out (Skittles and Remus) and Barty goes, “I’m the opposite of gullible, I never fall for your shit Regulus” after some conversation about Regulus’ tricks.
And it gives Regulus an idea.
So later that night when they’re alone, Regulus comes to Remus with said idea.
There’s a fancy social event happening in like two weeks that Regulus is invited too. And he’s got a plus one. So he suggests Remus and him go as a “couple“ to prank Barty. And Regulus isn’t supposed to know Barty will be there (you can thank Evan for telling him) so it’ll seem like Remus and Regulus are just trying to get away from everyone and be together in secret.
Remus is in since he’s been finding Barty a bit annoying and wants to prove that he is gullible. Plus he’s doubting Sirius intent behind his recent flirting with Remus and he could use a fun night out to distract himself.
So they go. They go and they trick Barty so fast it’s laughable… but Regulus has been weird all night. He keeps sneaking glances at the door to the big fancy room they’re in, and 30 minutes ago he asked Remus if it’d be alright if they kissed to fuck with his homophobic boss who’s here… except they still haven’t done it? And Regulus isn’t super touchy.
Just when Remus is about to ask what’s going on, Regulus turns to him and announces they must kiss. And they do.
It’s alright. Regulus makes some joke about Sirius’ pining making more sense now he knows what a good kisser Remus is. And Remus doesn’t even get to ask about the “pining” because from the other side of the room, a very familiar voice yells “WHAT THE FUCK?”
And then Sirius and James are stood in front of Remus and Regulus.
Oh. That’s why he’s been watching the door. Regulus knew Barty would tell James, to be a pain, and that these two would come here and see their kiss and then, what? Beg for them back?
Regulus played Remus. The genius.
Anyway, Sirius starts talking, contradicting himself every next sentences, going from saying he’s happy for them and doesn’t want to lose them, to calling them names and accusing Regulus of backstabbing him. Then he leaves. James whispers, “I should’ve asked sooner Reg. Taken my head out my arse. I’m sorry.” And follows Sirius. Clearly Barty told them what they told him. They’ve “been together” for two months. James and Sirius both thought him and Regulus were an actual real couple.
Remus freezes for a moment but then he heads to the exit to follow them, Regulus close behind. And Remus shoots him a look. An annoyed one.
So they get outside and before Sirius and James can get in a taxi, Reg yells “WE’RE NOT DATING YOU DICKS!”
Sirius turns around and silently walks over to Regulus with the most murderous look on his face. And whispers “What?”
Then Remus decides to interject, “We’re not dating. For the record though, we could. You two have been fucking hopeless at communicating with us. Hell, we’ve been broken up over a year Sirius.”
And Sirius turns to Remus, and with a slightly raised but wobbly voice, he answers, “We’ve been on and off again since we started dating Remus. We weren’t supposed to end on OFF. I still have the fucking ring I was going to give you before you broke up with me, it’s in the corner of my room. And while you’ve been kissing my brother, I’ve been planning a big gesture to ask you out again for months. Fuck, I was going to do it next week. The anniversary of when we met.”
(btw Remus broke up with Sirius but because Sirius was pulling away and they weren’t talking. They’re at equal fault but where Remus has been trying to talk, Sirius has been brushing it off and just flirting).
But long story short, Remus kisses Sirius and they’re all happy again. Oh and they agree to get some couples therapy. Cause that’s always important.
Then James makes his cutesy speech, going all, “I should’ve gotten over myself sooner” and “I wanted to make it perfect” and “I thought maybe you didn’t actually like me and just liked out flirting thingy” and, after some torture from Regulus, pretending to say no, they hook up too.
And everyone’s happy :)
