the idea is that Dogday and Leo were very close before Leo was toyified. after the transfer, Darling Starling doesn't remember Dogday at all, and his personality isn't the same, much to Dogday's devastation :')

Both Donnie and Mikey are disabled in this AU. Mikey has rather Severe Hypoglycemia, and Donnie's wings have permanent muscle atrophy.

Donnie's battle shell acts as a brace to support his wings (they didn't develop right due to the lack of support his soft shell gives) with out his brace he can't lift his wings properly, which prevents him from walking correctly, leaving him stumbling on his feet.

Mikey's Hypoglycemia affects him heavily. Leo and Donnie always have Orange juice, gummy's, glucose tablets, honey sticks, and rock candy on them for Mikey cause he forgets to grab snacks a lot. when his Blood sugar drops to much he will get dizzy, slurs his speech, get uneven breathing, sensory overload, and blurry vison.

Raph and Leo don't think of them as "weaker" or "less capable". in fact they are so proud of their little bros for being so awesome all the time and not letting their disability's hold them back... but their still super worried for them, all the time... protective big bros activate!!!

That draft and all the talk about the sugar au has me thinking of Sophist singing "Poison", and now I'm passing the brainrot to you :3.

MORE ANONS YIPPEE!!! ٩(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵๑)۶ And I can indeed confirm that I thought about "Poison" right after realizing the AD similarities to Escort Sophist, my only thing is that AD's voice is waayyyy too tenor (high pitched) and also pitchy(? dunno if thats the right word) for me to actually hear him singing it lmao-

Speaking of which, I can definitely imagine Leo filming himself with Sophist, not for public view or as he says, himself, but because he knows of Sophist's self loathing (explained in a drabble i have coming up). Sophist is popular in the business, but Leo's known that he's now/has been struggling to remain here, and throughout the years, his hold on him has also weakened. So instead, he lets him trap himself, constantly murmuring the scarlett letter effect/trope into his ears as they're filming.

A salacious, honey-like voice, slithering in the air but murmuring expressions that are both cruel (in comparison to his voice) and coldly calculated. Leo had always been good with his voice, and in the moment, it was intoxicating, making the venom in his whisper made each word feel like a reminder, a statement, rather than a threat. Maybe it was the heat in the air, but it felt so suffocating, inescapable, like this undeniable truth.

It's true that lust will blind and suffocate, but just as much does it distract and coalesce one into this deliberate softness, lowering one's guard subconsciously. It is enough to make the phrases cut into him like glass shards, but be too preoccupied for him to notice. Over time, the phrases gradually embed themselves into his heart, and it is through this that Leo manipulates Eevee. Coherent thoughts from the days before dissipating alongside the haze of lust, and without any recollection that these ideas are the result of/connected/linked back to Leo, his subconscious can only believe that these thoughts have been conjured by himself. As such, that idea becomes true, and in technicality, these thoughts have always been his own. It takes years, but slowly, Leo strengthens this idea of impossibility of a new future, a new life with acceptance without prejudice, while also advancing Sophist's previous insecurities to this self loathing. It matters not to him whether or not Sophist is insecure, eating away at himself in this self hatred, he just needs to be blinded. Blinded enough to stay. As long as his perspective is never opened, he'll always see the tall, looming wall in front of him, unclimbable; and disheartened, he will not attempt to leave. Any hope of that idea will be crushed, and he will be unable to see the truth that's really around him.

... That is, until he meets someone special.

Theory Time

Honestly, I really like finding details in openings and endings. The first things I noticed while watching the new opening of High Card was this:

If we go by the clothes, this is Ban Klondike and he is in possession of the Joker. So there does exist one. We will probably get to know this through the new season but it still a nice detail in the opening.

Another thing is this in the ending:

We can see three people sitting at a table, drinking and playing cards. These are probably Ban Klondike (front), Theodore Constantine Pinochle (left) and Greg Young (back). As we already got told in the first season, these three have known each other for a long time.

BUT! If you look at at the ending picture in more detail you can see four people. Only the hands of the fourth person (right) can be seen tho. So this leads to the question: Who is this? We will probably get to know this in some time, still here is a theory:

What if this fourth person is the father of Finn? Wide stretch, I know, but listen. In the second episode of the first season, after High Card captured Finn, they suddenly employ him. There is no definite reason said why, but they offer to take him in. While working he can earn money and be protected from other people that are after his card. It‘s also possible they do that because they need more people to help collecting cards but why take some random boy then. Any why protect him? I think they could just have taken his card and that‘s it. But the order to make him an employe came from above, from Theodore. Later on the phone he tells Bernard to fire him if he is useless, but still. Maybe he is doing an old friend a favor or there is more behind it.

Another one is this:

At the end of episode 5 of the first season, Greg views Finns profile. He is not that expressive but it still looks like is thinking about something. Is his name familiar? Maybe he reminds him of someone?

Well, that‘s more or less it. It‘s been a while and I haven‘t fully rewatched the first season yet but these are the things I noticed and kept thinking about. Take it with a grain of salt. I also haven‘t really dived into all the other materials available about High Card. Maybe after a rewatch I‘ll add stuff or come up with different theories.
