Have you ever asked the question; Why is life so hard? God loves you as His child, and wants you to enjoy a relationship with Him. He is the answer to your search for that ultimate relationship. He will fill the hole in your heart. He is the one Creator of the universe and all it contains, including you. You won't be complete inside until you have a personal relationship with the God who created you.
 How Can We Know That This is Even Possible and the Truth?
Melvin Feller believes that God, Himself, oversaw the writing of the most important Book of all time, The Bible.  Melvin Feller also believes that “God’s Owner's Manual" for our life. Within the Bible are all the answers we need to live life and in addition to finding God. This in turn will aid us in facing our problems and issues.
Being at harmony with God is not instinctive, because by natural law we are separated from God. This separation is the "something wrong" that is at the root of our basic selfishness, loneliness, and shadowy feelings. Feelings of imperfection.  Through many acts, thoughts and attitudes, we keep moving away from God, not toward Him. ALL of us do this, no matter how moral and upright we may seem on the surface. If you search your own heart honestly, you already know this is true. This has caused a split between us and God. This split is the reason we become sinful.
In the Bible we are told that, “God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. Everyone has turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.” (Psalm 53:2-3, NIV)
 Thus, the Question is How do We Find God?
We can find God because we know He loves us, God cannot and will not use viewpoint that this will allow us to remain apart from him.  But then again because God is perfect, He cannot allow our sin to go unpunished without ceasing to be perfect, because he would then cease to be God. Our sins demand that they must be paid for.  Our religion and good living cannot solely pay it off.  Therefore, God designed the perfect solution. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth. The Bible tells us of His story. He was both God and human. He lived a normal life, but lived it as God. Jesus truly loves each and every one of us. While on earth, Jesus talked with everyone that would listen, even healing them and making them promises. He even submitted to an unjust death sentence for all of us. But that wasn't the end. After three days, He rose up out of His grave. Alive! God saw and planned the death of His Son Jesus as payment for our sins. Jesus took our place on a cross over 2000 plus years ago! Therefore, Jesus overcame death, actually came back to life to show us His celestial power. And His power over sin and death is ours just for the asking.
This has been proven through the Bible.  It says that “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21, NIV  
Ever since Jesus came to earth, people have had questions. As life becomes more and more complicated, chaotic and society in general has become more decadent and hurtful, we now know people are asking more and more questions about this life and society in general. However, the most important decision we will ever make in our life is what we decide about Jesus Christ. God is actually looking for only two simple things:
·         Will you turn your life over to your Creator and believe that Jesus Christ is that one Person, that one relationship you need?
·         Will you admit you need Him and confess your wrongdoing to Him?
 By us actually doing these two simple things we are guaranteed a place in God's family.  This simply means turning to God and asking Christ to be part of our lives. God has already implemented that ability when He planned His Plan of Salvation.  That occurred when His only begotten Son died for us. Turning to God means we are turning from something. If we turn to the right, we must turn from the left, thus, we cannot face two totally different directions at the same time. It is also the same with Jesus Christ and sin. Only as we turn to Him, we are able to "repent", which means we comprehend that we cannot fully embrace Jesus and His teachings while hanging onto our sin.  The same sins He died for. That means turning our back on wrong choices such as judging people, lying, sexual immorality, becoming quick to anger, etc. in order to begin doing things God's way.
 So, the big question for most of us is how do we turn towards God?  God only asks that we do the four simple actions.
·         Admit your spiritual need. Admit we are sinners.
·         Believe that Jesus Christ died for Us and/or You on the cross.
·         Receive Jesus Christ into our hearts and our life, thereby choosing this relationship over our current life of sin and separation from Him.
·         Being repentant and willing to turn from sin.

Remember that the Bible tells us that, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12, KJV
Therefore, we all can belong to God from today forward, but only if we will tell Him with total sincerity. Your prayer should be our own because it needs to flow from deep within us. If you have a need I have written a sample of what you might say to God:
Lord, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I was made for You, but I've been living for me. I want to begin a relationship with You now. I believe that You died in my place, to pay the penalty for my sin, and rose again for my salvation. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name.

 Although all of us have been communicating with others since early childhood, the process of transmitting information from an individual or group to another is a very complex process with many sources of potential error.  By the time a message gets from a sender to a receiver, there are four basic places where transmission errors can occur and at each place, there are multitudes of potential sources of error.  Social psychologists estimate that there is usually a 40-60% loss of meaning in the transmission of messages from sender to receiver.  People in organizations typically spend over 75% of their time in an interpersonal situation.  Therefore, it is no surprise to find that at the root of a large number of organizational problems is poor communications. In a work setting, interactions involve people who often do not have years of experience communicating with each other.  These interactions are further complicated by the complex relationships that exist at work.

It is critical to understand and be aware of the potential sources of communication barriers and constantly avoid these barriers by making a conscientious effort to make sure there is a minimal loss of meaning in your communication.  The following will suggest a number of barriers to effective communication at work:
The     choice of words or language which a sender uses (called     'encoding the message') will influence the quality of     communication.  In the English language, there are about 500 basic     words that are used everyday.  These 500 words have over     10,000 different meanings.  Because language is a symbolic representation     of a phenomenon, room for interpretation and distortion of the meaning     exists.
Misreading     body language, tone, and other non-verbal forms of communication
Ignoring     non-verbal language
Selective     hearing
Hesitation     to be candid
Distrust
Value     judgment
Power     struggles
Unreliable     transmission (due to noise or inconsistent sending)
Defensiveness (a     typical barrier
  in a     work situation, especially when negative information or criticism is     involved)
Distorted     perception (How we perceive communication is affected by     experiences.  Perception is also affected by the organizational     relationship two people have.  For example, communication from a     superior may be perceived differently than from a subordinate or peer.)
Guilt
Distortions     from the past
Stereotyping (assuming     the other person has certain characteristics based on the group to which     they belong without validating that they in fact have these     characteristics)
Cultural     differences (Effective communication requires deciphering the basic     values, motives, aspirations, and assumptions that operate across     geographical lines.  Given some dramatic differences across cultures,     the opportunities for miscommunication in cross-cultural situations are     enormous.)

First, you must imagine the finished product.  You can do this by drawing a sketch or just close your eyes and picture your uncluttered space looking just how you want it. Secondly, you must remember that you can do anything for 15 minutes at a time! Work for 15-minutes and then stop before it gets overwhelming.

Forget the Goal Setting-Try This Method Instead

More than anybody, Melvin Feller MA knows and understands all too well that we all have things that we want to achieve in our lives — getting into the better shape, building a successful business, raising a wonderful family, writing a best-selling book, winning a championship, and so on.
And for most of us, the path to those things starts by setting a specific and actionable goal. At least, this is how I approached my life until recently. I would set goals for classes I took, for weights that I wanted to lift in the gym, and for clients I wanted in my business.
During my online teaching and working with many students, I’m starting to realize, however, is that when it comes to actually getting things done and making progress in the areas that are important to you, there is a much better way to do things.
It all comes down to the difference between goals and systems.
Let me explain.
The Difference Between Goals and Systems
What’s the difference between goals and systems?
If you’re a coach, your goal is to win a championship. Your system is what your team does at practice each day.
If you’re a writer, your goal is to write a book. Your system is the writing schedule that you follow each week.
If you’re a runner, your goal is to run a marathon. Your system is your training schedule for the month.
If you’re an entrepreneur, your goal is to build a million dollar business. Your system is your sales and marketing process.
Now for the really interesting question:
If you completely ignored your goals and focused only on your system, would you still get results?

For example, if you were a basketball coach and you ignored your goal to win a championship and focused only on what your team does at practice each day, would you still get results?
I think you would.
As an example, I just added up the total word count for the articles I’ve written this year.
What I did focus on was writing one article every Monday and Thursday. And after sticking to that schedule for 11 months, the result was 115,000 words. I focused on my system and the process of doing the work. In the end, I enjoyed the same (or perhaps better) results.
Let’s talk about three more reasons why you should focus on systems instead of goals.
1. Goals reduce your current happiness.
When you’re working toward a goal, you are essentially saying, “I’m not good enough yet, but I will be when I reach my goal.”
The problem with this mindset is that you’re teaching yourself to always put happiness and success off until the next milestone is achieved. “Once I reach my goal, then I’ll be happy. Once I achieve my goal, then I’ll be successful.”
SOLUTION: Commit to a process, not a goal.
Choosing a goal puts a huge burden on your shoulders. Can you imagine if I had made it my goal to write two books this year? Just writing that sentence stresses me out.
But we do this to ourselves all the time. We place unnecessary stress on ourselves to lose weight or to succeed in business or to write a best-selling novel. Instead, you can keep things simple and reduce stress by focusing on the daily process and sticking to your schedule, rather than worrying about the big, life-changing goals.
When you focus on the practice instead of the performance, you can enjoy the present moment and improve at the same time.
2. Goals are strangely at odds with long-term progress.
You might think your goal will keep you motivated over the long-term, but that’s not always true.
Consider someone training for a half-marathon. Many people will work hard for months, but as soon as they finish the race, they stop training. Their goal was to finish the half-marathon and now that they have completed it, that goal is no longer there to motivate them. When all of your hard work is focused on a particular goal, what is left to push you forward after you achieve it?
This can create a type of “yo-yo effect” where people go back and forth from working on a goal to not working on one. This type of cycle makes it difficult to build upon your progress for the long-term.

SOLUTION: Release the need for immediate results.
I was training at the gym last week and I was doing my second-to-last set of clean and jerks. When I hit that rep, I felt a small twinge in my leg. It wasn’t painful or an injury, just a sign of fatigue near the end of my workout. For a minute or two, I thought about doing my final set. Then, I reminded myself that I plan to do this for the rest of my life and decided to call it a day.
In a situation like the one above, a goal-based mentality will tell you to finish the workout and reach your goal. After all, if you set a goal and you don’t reach it, then you feel like a failure.
But with a systems-based mentality, I had no trouble moving on. Systems-based thinking is never about hitting a particular number, it’s about sticking to the process and not missing workouts.
Of course, I know that if I never miss a workout, then I will lift bigger weights in the long-run. And that’s why systems are more valuable than goals. Goals are about the short-term result. Systems are about the long-term process. In the end, process always wins.
3. Goals suggest that you can control things that you have no control over.
You can’t predict the future. (I know, shocking.)
But every time we set a goal, we try to do it. We try to plan out where we will be and when we will make it there. We try to predict how quickly we can make progress, even though we have no idea what circumstances or situations will arise along the way.
SOLUTION: Build feedback loops.
Each Friday, I spend 15 minutes filling out a small spreadsheet with the most critical metrics for my business. I rarely think about this number, but checking that column each week provides a feedback loop that tells me if I’m doing things right. When that number drops, I know that I need to send high quality traffic to my site.
Feedback loops are important for building good systems because they allow you to keep track of many different pieces without feeling the pressure to predict what is going to happen with everything. Forget about predicting the future and build a system that can signal when you need to make adjustments.
Fall In Love With Systems
None of this is to say that goals are useless. However, I’ve found that goals are good for planning your progress and systems are good for actually making progress.
In fact, I think I’m going to officially declare 2020 the “Year of the Sloth” so that everyone will be forced to slow down and make consistent, methodical progress rather than chasing sexy goals for a few weeks and then flaming out.
Goals can provide direction and even push you forward in the short-term, but eventually a well-designed system will always win. Having a system is what matters. Committing to the process is what makes the difference.

  When you look at your company, you see leaders that can get things done and really motivate the people around them.  Supervisors, forepersons, managers, and executives all have a major impact on your company.  But what if those leaders suddenly left?  What happens when those stars go out?  Do you have qualified employees that could fill the gap?  Is your bench deep enough to play on and win the game?  Have you prepared your top performers to be the leaders of tomorrow?  One of the measures of healthy organizations is how comfortable they feel replacing key leadership positions with their own employees.
 Unfortunately, most of us only look at the people standing right in front of us, and when something happens we make a mad scramble to survive.  Leadership development shouldn’t be restricted to existing leaders.  Having a healthy population of future leaders in the organization can be the biggest insurance for success.  You need to ask, “What about tomorrow?”

You could fill the spot with a new hire, but the difference in cost between promoting leaders from within and trying to find an external candidate can be amazingly high and comes with a lot of hidden problems, especially in these tough economic times.  At the same time, hiring someone from outside of the organization does have benefits.  It can offer new ideas and new perspectives on old issues, and it creates a healthy influx of productive energy, but should that be your first option?  Here are some drawbacks to making outside hiring your number one option:
Recruiting     Cost – Finding a qualified, knowledgeable leader takes time and     money.  Recruiting, interviewing, and testing, even if done in house,     comes at a high price.  The cost of recruiting a new hire and     training them can reach multiples of the employee’s annual salary.      Recruiting internally cuts down on the cost and shows your employees     that you value their skills at least as well as those of outsiders.
Lapse     in Performance – A new candidate takes a number of weeks to learn     the culture and work flow of a new organization.  During that time,     the individual is in a period of negative production.  If the person     doesn’t work out in the position, the cost of training and replacement can     be as much as 3 times the annual salary of the position.  By the time     employers learn that the employee might not work out, it’s past the     probation period and damage is already done.
Cultural     Adjustment – All companies have a unique set of values,     character, and culture.  A new candidate comes from a completely     different culture and may or may not fit into yours.  Interviews and     resumes will not show the adaptability of leaders, even if they come from     the same line of business.  A conflict of values can quickly become a     drain on company resources and takes a long time to remedy.  The end     result is most often a demoralized work group.
So if hiring leaders externally is cost prohibitive, how do you get out of that cycle?  What can you do to develop your most promising performers?  You need to ask yourself, “Are there individuals internally that could do the same thing by being moved or promoted?”  If the answer is no, then you need to start developing.  Now!

The most effective way to create your leaders of the future is a professionally developed training plan; but if you aren’t ready for that step and you need to make some moves quickly. Here are a few tips to start the process:
Start     a Mentoring Program – Identify your top performers, identify your     top leaders, and get them together.  A once-a-week meeting to discuss     what the leader does and how he or she is dealing with issues that arise     can expose your employees to what being a leader means - and give them an     incentive to apply it to their own positions.  It will also encourage     them to take the initiative for self-development.
Project     Share – Let your top leaders identify some projects or portions     of projects that they can delegate to your potential leaders.  The     idea is not only to develop the skills needed to complete the tasks, but     it also gives them exposure to greater levels of responsibility and lets     you evaluate their talents and skills.
Keep     People Moving – If it’s possible for you to shuffle people     between departments, offer it.  Give people the option to try a new     area of the company.  Not only will they be learning a new skill set,     but their understanding of the entire business will expand, which is a     critical aspect of leadership.  In the long run, this will reduce     your training cost for new leaders.
Get     to Know Your Employees – Do you know what your employees’     professional aspirations are?  Do you know what they really want to     do for the company?  Do you even know their capabilities?  A     simple questionnaire can offer you incredibly valuable information on     their past experience, skills, and performance desires.  Aside from     helping you to identify who might be a future leader, it can also help     remedy the problem of the right person in the wrong position.
Build     Your Own Library – Invest in some personal development audio or     video tapes, DVDs, books, or computer-based training tools.  There     are lots of titles and topics available.  Offer these to your     employees for check out.  The real performers will take advantage of     it.  This is a cost effective way to train employees with minimal     start up cost and no labor, as the training will take place on their own     time.  You can also offer “Lunch Box Learning” and show one of the     short programs during the lunch hour.
 These are just a few of the ways to motivate your top performers into becoming tomorrow’s leaders.  The benefit of having well-developed leadership skills in your employees will far outweigh the cost of putting these programs in place.
  If you don’t develop your top performers, they won’t be your top performers for long.  Soon you will be stuck with a bench full of liabilities.  The question you need to ask yourself isn’t, “What happens if I develop them and they leave?”  The question you need to ask is, “What happens if I don’t develop them and they stay?”

  I spend a lot of time trying to be a good communicator. Sometimes I am better at it than at other times but I keep at it.  In my profession I must be.  Communication is key and words matter.
 Despite technological advances, trying to communicate effectively can be frustrating. Trying to connect via e-mail or phone can be tricky when everyone is so busy. In addition, to be honest, there are some people I wish I never had either to speak with.

 We have all had those challenges, which seem to be compounded by the increasing stress in our workplace. From the co-worker who is rude and abrasive to the boss who yells, we often  have a tough time communicating effectively. Still, there are some ways to not only stand your ground against verbal assaults, but to make sure your message is being heard clearly and directly in this fast-paced communication environment. Try:
Being straightforward. When you are direct – whether giving positive or negative feedback it is appreciated by most people. Begin your statement with “I” and deliver it in a way that is not mean-spirited. Once you start dishing out the b.s. and being less than truthful, people will be less willing to communicate with you, and that will impact your ability to do your job.

  Learning to say “no” and meaning it. Too often, we say “no” but our whole demeanor conveys our doubt. Learn to say “no” when a request is first made, then state your reason for the denial. Do not fidget, and make eye contact. This shows that you are serious about what you are saying.
 Spotting the mixed message. Haven’t we all dealt with the person at work that smiles or laughs while delivering an insult? For example, this person may say to you “So, how did you enjoy your two-hour lunch?” That is when you calmly look the person in the eye and say, “I appreciate your candor, but I think I’m the best judge of how I use my time.” Act as if the message were straightforward, or that you are taking it literally: “Thanks for asking. The lunch was great.” If this fails, you can always become the broken record, repeating that there seems to be a problem: “I feel uncomfortable when you ask me about my two-hour lunch. I’d like you to let me know directly if my going out for a long lunch is a problem from your point of view.”

Staying calm. When under a verbal assault, do not offer justifications, apologies or qualifiers, because there is no way to win with a person who yells opinions. (This is especially true if it is the boss.) Just keep repeating in your mind that the person is acting like a jerk, and keep breathing. In these cases, you might try admitting that there is some truth to what the person is saying, which can buy you some time and help turn down the intensity.
 Stay on Message. Be clear exactly what ideas you are trying to express or the message you are trying to convey to the other person or group. What do you most want them to understand?
 Make It a Two-Way Conversation. Try to really hear and understand where others are coming from. What are they trying to say? What messages are they trying to get across to you? Ask yourself, “Do I really understand them?” Pay special attention not just, to what they are saying, but to what is not being said.

Making Sense of It All. Always ask yourself, “Does what I’m saying make sense? Does the feedback I am receiving make sense? What is the perspective they are trying to get across? Does it make sense that they have this perspective?” When both parties in the conversation are truly able to say they understand or that “it makes sense,” clear and effective communication has been achieved.
 You’re Responsible for Any Failure to Communicate. Remember, as the primary communicator you are 100% responsible for the other person’s understanding of the communication. In other words, if you do not feel that you are being understood, you have not completed the job of communicating. You must re-communicate your position to ensure that you have been properly heard.
 Can You Hear Them Now.  Do you really hear what others are saying? To really listen requires your full attention and being able to feed back to them exactly what you have heard them say.

Repetition, Repetition, Repetition. An equally effective way to make sure others understand exactly what you are communicating is to ask them to repeat back their interpretation of what has been said or asked of them. In order to guarantee the results or reaction you want, you need to make sure that your audience can give you a clear explanation of what is being required of them.
Respect Your Audience as You Respect Yourself. To be a clear and effective communicator, you must first recognize that your message is not just about you or what you want. It is about “what’s in it for the audience.” You must both believe in your message and sincerely care about the needs and the unique perspectives of those you are communicating to if you truly want to be heard. After all, they took the time and trouble to hear what you have to say, so it is equally important to recognize and respect that we each have different perspectives based on our positions, motivations, and needs.
 The virtually endless benefits of clear and effective communication are not hard to achieve as long you as keep your message simple enough to be understood, interesting enough to be remembered, and, most importantly, respectful enough of others to be respected.
 Finally, remind yourself in difficult communication situations at work that when someone is rude, belligerent, yelling or insulting, there may be more at play than you know.  For example, the person may be having a personal crisis, and you responding in kind may be something you come to regret.
 Say to yourself: “This is difficult, but I believe in myself. It may be upsetting, but I can deal with it and getting angry only lets the other person win. I can’t control what they say, but I can control my reaction.”

 Being small business owners, we have so many things on our plates. It can be easy to let something seemingly small, like following up, slip through the cracks. Here are five ways following up can build your business, along with tips to make it easy and more effective.
1.  Builds Trust
Following up with others goes a long way toward establishing trust. It does this by building your credibility and reliability, which according to the Trusted Advisor, are two key elements to the Trust Equation.  When people trust you, they’re more likely to buy your products or services.

  2.  Leaves a Great Impression
When a friend was looking for a new job, she viewed my connections on LinkedIn, and asked me for an introduction to one of my contacts. I happily made the introduction, and after the two met for coffee, my friend reported back to me, “Tara was so impressed with you, and couldn’t believe how on the ball you are.”
Personalized and timely follow-ups always leave a great impression.
A.  Take notes (I like taking notes on the back of business cards) B.  Add notes to your contact system C.  Use notes to personalize follow up messages D.  Follow up within 24 hours after meeting someone E.  Follow up within an appropriate time-frame for all other communications F.  Set aside follow up time in your daily schedule
Additionally, personalizing your follow-ups builds intimacy, increasing your trustworthiness.
3.  You’ll be known for being helpful
Whether you’re following up with a prospective client regarding your proposal, or you’re following up with a new connection, focus on being of service to them. In July, Natasha sent me a very simple follow-up email just asking me what I needed help with.
 Experiencing problems with my then-web developer, I asked if she could recommend anyone. She introduced me to someone and, in the process, helped two people. I quickly launched my new website, and the developer got a new loyal client.
But, to be of real service to others, you must be genuine in all of your follow-up outreach.
A.  Want to be of service B.  Take interest in what matters most to your contacts C.  Desire to have a mutually rewarding relationship with them
 Being genuine in your desire to help others is what makes all of this work. Genuinely focusing on serving others decreases your self-orientation, which increases your trustworthiness.
4.   Keeps You Top of Mind
When you follow up with someone, it keeps you at the top of their mind, so when they’re looking for the services you offer, or they meet someone who needs your services, you’ll be the first person they think of.
Use a contact system to help you keep everyone top of mind.
Using the right contact system will enhance your follow up efforts. While many have great features, for following up I usemine to schedule follow up actions for later dates, and then it sends me email reminders.
5.  Expands Your Network, Grows Your Business
Building trust, impressing others, serving people, and staying top of mind, all create the compound effect of expanding your network. You will become the person others go to for referrals and introductions, expanding your network.

 Lastly, following up and using the Trust Equation gives you many ways to prove your trustworthiness, so when they’re in need of your services, you’ll be top of mind, they’ll appreciate all you’ve already done for them, and they’ll trust you.  These are stages that you can put into practice immediately to put you on the road to establishing “partnerships” with your customers.
 • Treat Business Development as a profession … not a pastime. Don’t wait for the phone to ring. Be proactive and make the phone calls, set the appointments and see the prospects and customers. Make Business Development a first priority. Use “other” time to finish the paperwork, update the database and do research on the internet.
 • Stop talking … and start listening. That means leaving marketing materials behind, or at least out of sight. The less you take on the call with you, the less talking about it you’ll do and the more information you will get. By asking the right questions about real business concerns, you will potentially uncover more opportunities over and above the programs or services your marketing literature boasts about.
 • Be externally focused… not internally focused. Look outside your company’s revenue goals to what’s happening in your customer’s world. Find out about their industry problems. Put yourself in their shoes and try to see their needs from their perspective. Make a point to know the full range of your company’s capabilities, so you‘re aware of all the current or potential problems you can solve or prevent as the company’s representative.
 • Think long-term … not short-term. Salespeople are often so focused on the short-term sale, they miss developing the long-term business relationship. Business Developers know and act in what’s in their customer’s long-term best interest … even if it means foregoing a short-term sale. This is external-purpose based thinking. And it’s what trust is built upon.

• Think like a business person … not a salesperson. There is a significant difference. Develop the thinking to operate from the mental perspective of a business professional conducting  business on a long-term, win-win basis, not just in a buy-sell situation. The professional in Business Development helps customers identify their concerns and then helps them to determine whether or not those problems require a solution, now or later. By moving beyond solving a client’s problems to preventing them, you can, in effect, become an indispensable business partner.

  Most business students upon graduation are comfortable with their technical education and envision a position where their knowledge and some common sense will provide the means to have a successful career. Then they enter the business world. So, where in their business curriculum did they learn the people skills and business savvy necessary to go out and “get business” for their company or firm? In this current sluggish economy, acquiring new business is proving to be a greater challenge each day, and getting clients to make decisions takes skills that most of us did not acquire in college. The old adage “experience is the best teacher” often proves to be a very expensive educational lesson.
 How do you develop business in your company or firm? Are you able to be selective in going after profitable business or are you forced to take what business comes your way? Why is your competition selected over you; are they doing something you are not? Is it technical ability or something else? Are you proactive or reactive in your search for Business? How can you drive business your way? Is the profitability of your firm in someone else’s hands?
 What is Business Development (here after referred to as BD)? BD is a way of thinking and the process of establishing and enhancing long-term business relationships, where all parties involved benefit and profit. BD is also a behavioral discipline through which practitioners generate revenue and positively impact the bottom line. The BD mindset clearly communicates  purpose ahead of goal - the practitioners place the client’s highest goal (purpose) ahead of their own goals.
  The professional business partner does not just do things better than a traditional salesperson they think and do things differently and at a different level. They:
• think like a business person
• build long-term business relationships
• come from a win-win business position
• know the balance between goal and purpose in BD
• are customer focused and allow clients to qualify themselves to facilitate decision making
• understand how clients think
• know people buy to overcome or avoid pain
• know which questions to ask and how to ask them
• have a BD Process
• know clients don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
 From the list above, it’s clear that the fundamentals of successful BD center around: Process/ Skills, People/ Psychology and Leadership.
 As an example, in a recent conversation, a senior principal of a successful accounting company / firm asked: “What happens to my firm when I’m not able to develop business to keep my firm profitable or existing? Who in my firm will take over my BD responsibilities? Where will those individuals acquire the thinking and skills to do BD? As key client decisionmakers change, how do we keep our firm plugged-in to influence decisions?
 We need to know how to stay in front of decision makers since our firm’s profitability is dependent on constantly developing additional business. We know our future success is based on acquiring sound people skills and we need to understand that people make buying decisions not firms.”

Of course, in this environment having the required technical skills is a fundamental requirement. It’s those individuals who understand why and how clients think that give them the “edge” to be successful in their BD efforts. While this ability may be considered the “soft skills” that technically trained people often overlook, this capability is the mortar that holds the “technical blocks” together, and can make all the difference in the success of your BD efforts. Successful BD people know how to do the “people stuff”, and understand that people buy emotionally and rationalize their decisions intellectually.
 In the role of BD, it is critical to have confidence in your process to lead the client in making decisions. If you do not have and use a process, you will become part of someone else’s process (the Client’s) and you can lose control of your BD efforts. Instead of being proactive and moving in the direction you want to go, you become reactive and dependent on your client who will then control your opportunities.

 How did you get into real estate investing? Did you read a book on it? Was it a seminar? A meeting of some sort with speakers selling courses? Did you get really, really jazzed and pumped up by these simple ("not easy") concepts that were delivered to you in parable form from the stage by a charismatic speaker? Did you find yourself levitating to the back of the room, powerless but to slap down your plastic to buy the kits that were being sold there?

  I discovered this thing called creative real estate. Control without ownership, solving people problems, use your brain to buy property - not your cash. I had an acute appreciation for it, given my (expensive and painful) landlording odyssey, but it seemed even with all this wonderful knowledge, I was still in very much the same position I had been in when I first got started. The same position I stayed in, until I wised up, and the same position most real estate investors struggle with year after year because they do not know any better.
 That is "I know all this stuff inside and out. I know 100 different creative ways to buy a property. However, I have to suffer through things like lackluster advertising results, cold calling, talking to hundreds of testy uninterested people, and dead ends, before I even get the chance to talk to someone who is half way motivated to sell. This is a crossroads. The proverbial "brick wall" for most of us.
   Moreover, this brings up an important point. Possibly the most important point to really "get" here. Knowing how to find motivated sellers is far more important than knowing 100 different ways to buy a house. You see, your business (and therefore your life) is going to be frustrating, stressful and unfulfilling unless you find a way to create a non-stop flow of motivated sellers calling you, every day. Now, that is obvious isn't it? Well it cannot be that obvious because not many people actually do it. You see, what I am trying to point out here that there is a mental shift that needs to occur in your mind, a paradigm shift if you will, before you are going to make any serious money as a Real Estate Entrepreneur.

  Moreover, what is This Paradigm Shift?
  Instead of being a real estate entrepreneur, you must become a marketer of your real estate entrepreneurial business. That is what it comes down to. If you are in business, you need to make this shift in your thinking. Because no business is going to prosper, or be successful without many customers.
 Making this shift in thinking, in orientation, about who you are, focuses you on the singularly most important and financially rewarding aspect of business: marketing. The money is in marketing the business, not in doing the business. It may take a while before you really absorb this. You may have to think about it for a while before it really sinks in. Read it again. Take a minute. Once you change your thinking to accept that you are a marketer first and a Real Estate Entrepreneur second, you will finally be able to start making the kind of money you really want to make.
  Accepting your role as a marketer is the thing that will move you out of the rut of occasional mediocre deals and up into a level of sustained success that would not otherwise be possible for you. In addition, this is true of anyone in any other business or industry. The person or company who is most on top of their marketing, makes all the money, and dominates their market.

 A marketing machine! Average pizza. However, aggressive marketers, and they virtually own their market. Look at Bill Gates (yes, I know, everyone cites BG). If you saw Accidental Empires though, a PBS documentary by Robert Cringley, you would know that Gates was just one of hundreds of fanatical "techies" who were trying to make this computer thing work somehow. With his astute positioning and relentless marketing, he rode Microsoft up over IBM.
   Of course, this does not mean you just market better and let your buying, negotiating and selling skills go to pot. You have to be the very best property buyer you can be and run your office well too. After all, your sellers and buyers deserve the very best treatment from you. However, more importantly, doing what you do so well that people cannot resist telling others about you, is the purest type of marketing in and of itself. Remember, it does not matter how good you are if you have no Motivated Sellers to talk to. Buying houses from Motivated Sellers with little or no money out of your pocket is the name of the game, and marketing is the thing that brings in the Motivated Sellers.
  OK, so, marketing. Fabulous! However, what does it mean? So far, it is just a word I have said 10 or twenty times, right. Well, there are two types of marketing people typically use.
   The traditional approach which, for want of any better way to go, usually involves just going out after randomly selected sellers. They have not been screened or qualified in any way. We just know they have a house to sell. We run up big phone and classified ad bills to get to talk to them. In communicating with them we usually talk to them about our financing, and how great it is, and if they will just sell to us their "problems" will go away. We do it manually; call by call, door by door. We talk about us, rather than inquire about them. We chase, they run. When we stop, the marketing stops. The cost per deal is very high, both financially and emotionally.

 The second approach is the targeted, low-cost, systemized, response-oriented approach that, through a variety of media (such as direct mail, lead generating classified ads, flyers, signs, radio, cable TV) states or implies a benefit for the seller, calls for a response from them, and positions you as "the solution" for the sellers who want that. The sellers step forward and select you. The marketing is automated, and it is an operating system that works whether you are there or not.
  I do not want to shock you, but we are not going with the first choice here. Pick up just about any book or course about real estate investing or creative real estate and you will find the choice #1 approach to finding motivated sellers, if any. What you won't find anywhere in those books or courses is the choice #2 approach, which is direct response marketing. Direct response marketing targets a specific group of most-desired prospects that you have defined as those most likely to respond to your offer (e.g. out-of-state homeowners, or expired listings), then it advertises for or delivers a message to only those people via a media (e.g. personal-looking hand-addressed #10 envelope mailed first class) that will reach them and get their attention. Once in front of the target, direct response delivers the following:
 1) benefit-telegraphic headline
 2) true marketing message
 3) offer, or offers
 4) reason to respond immediately
 5) precise response instructions and mechanisms
   With these five elements in place, you set yourself up to be called only by motivated, partially pre-sold sellers, continually, day after day! So now, you can be freed to do the most productive thing possible for you as an investor does: make offers to motivated sellers!

 I hope that you can see the picture here. Direct response marketing cuts your advertising expense in half. It shifts, sorts and screens your prospects so that only the most qualified and most motivated respond and get to talk to you.  In short, it allows you to make more while working less, with more predictability, consistency and control than anything else you could do to find deals. Is that something you want? Think about it. Is there anyone you know of who is buying and selling a boatload of houses every month?

 They are still doing a ton of business. Now, why is that? They do not offer sellers anything more outstanding than you do, do they? They certainly do not offer sellers anything more creative than you are capable of offering. They do not have any better phone manner than you do. Not at all. The only thing that very successful Real Estate Entrepreneurs do better than anyone else is create a reliable, consistent flow of motivated sellers calling in each day! That is it! That is the difference. So did you get the message here? I hope so. If you want to change your experience in real estate investing from one of anxiety, frustration and disappointment to working less and making more, you will make the change.

  There are actually two engines that drive my personal real estate business as I continually ask myself these questions: Is this marketing technique geared toward finding a person with a problem or a property. I've found that I always look for people with problems and the properties come. Is this marketing technique significantly different from the next person? See, I am just not going to let myself be grouped together in the middle of the pack of other real estate investors. In this group at times, you will find everyone trying to sell the same flavor of ice cream: Vanilla! I like chocolate myself.

The above #2 listed pulse check prompts me to do things smarter and more effective for bottom-line more sellers. This business is absolutely so much about marketing. In fact, if you are into buying and selling real estate for big profits, then your primary operating procedure should start and end with finding truly motivated sellers. Period!
  If you are with me thus far then what I have stated is all in "theory" and sounds great, right? What you as an investor really need is not only to show you where the water is but also how to drink it. Let us get to some nitty-gritty details on exactly what I am getting to and want you to have a truly great opportunity to find more motivated sellers than you ever have. What I want to give you an overview of is what I call my "Check in the Mail" program. What does that mean? Well, I can assure you it is not about sending anyone money in the mail but making sure this happens:

  Your Letters Get Opened and Not Trashed
 The potential seller turns into a motivated seller after receiving a check with their name on it. Complete instructions on how that seller can turn the check already in their hand into cash and real soon. There is absolutely something magically special to many, many potential sellers when they have a check in their hand with their name on it. About now you're probably thinking that you're not a billion dollar endowment fund to be throwing around money to get people to sell their house.....its not about that.

  It is all about marketing with a significantly different and highly effective approach that I've used with many direct mail targets. Here it is in summary what you should very much key into if you are really into big profits and many motivated sellers to choose from. I use Versa Check Form #1000 check stock that can be picked up at any Staples, Office Max or Office Depot. This is check card stock that has a blank check at the very top 1/4 portion of the page. The remaining part of the page is white and blank. That is the section of the check where I fully explain my marketing angle with all the seller benefit laden solutions why they should call me immediately.
  It will probably take you some "tweaking" with a standard Word document but all the letters and numbers will match up easily. I just make the check out to them and having my name signed on the bottom. The amount of the check and is simply stated, "To Be Negotiated". I always start the letter out, "This check and more could be yours." Then the seller will read dependent upon the target market the written marketing of the text.
 I use standard double window envelopes so the person can see the color of the paper. You know, that check color paper. They just have to open it because they were not expecting this money. Yes some people are a little "peeved" after opening the letter and "yes" it is a marketing ploy to get your letter opened but it works! I also simply stamp on the outside of the letter too "Check Enclosed!" in red ink. Costs about $15 to get one of these stamps set up from like Staples/Office Max.

  I have found that this technique works best on direct mail targets such as Absentee Owners, Code Compliance, Bankruptcy, especially Pre-Foreclosure. You need somewhat "softer" approaches in direct mail to probate and divorce situations so I would not advise it within those two areas. It is all about getting your letters opened to the target market you are mailing to. I simply do not have a response rate to report to you yet, but I can definitely tell a difference in recent months from deals coming my way.
  This entire business in real estate is all about working smarter, and not necessarily harder. Time is the most important commodity you have as a real estate investor and this simple technique maximizes the best use of your marketing dollars and bottom-line the amount of time spent on putting those deals together for big paydays.   The best way I have found to motivate people to contact me with valuable information on non-advertised rental properties, is to offer to pay a finder's fee to anyone who tells me about a property that I buy. For example, my standard finder's fee is $500 cash, payable on the day that I buy the property. Why $500? That is because $500 seems to be the figure that gets the attention of most people.

    I use to offer $300, but since I have upped the ante to $500, I have more than doubled the number of leads I get monthly from people calling to tell me about small rental properties. The thing I like best about using finder's fees is that I only have to pay them when I buy a rental property. In the meantime, I have the benefit of many people looking for small rental properties for me without the cost of a weekly payroll.
  Use the Internet to Advertise Your Finder Fee Online
  On my real estate investment company's Web site, there's a $500 Cash Reward button that visitors can click on to learn about how they can earn a finder's fee of $500 in cash by simply contacting me with information that results in the purchase of a dirty, neglected, run-down two to twelve-unit residential rental property in the Tampa Bay Area. I also have my $500 cash reward printed on the backside of my business cards.
  Four Reasons Why I Use Direct Mail to Contact Property Owners
 Here are four very good reasons why I use direct mail to contact property owners:
1. Direct mail is easy to use. All I have to do is sit at my computer, point and click, hit a couple of keys and it'll crank out one of my standard letters to property owners that just needs to be signed, folded and inserted into an envelope. I use Microsoft Office Word 2016 that can merge names and addresses with letters. In addition, I use window envelopes so I do not have to fiddle around addressing them.
  2. Direct mail is relatively cheap to use. I am a penny pincher. Direct mail gives me the most bang for my buck. For example, I can mail out one hundred letters first class mail for right around $90. This includes the cost of letterheads, envelopes and postage, the whole shebang.
   3. Direct mail is quick. I usually get responses from owners interested in selling within two weeks from the date I mailed the letters out.
  4. Direct mail is effective. It allows me to make direct contact with owners of small, mismanaged rental properties without having to go through third parties such as real estate agents.

Life is Hard-But Christian Marriage is Even Harder According to Melvin Feller MA.
According to Melvin Feller. MA who is a business owner and Educator, Christian, life is hard for most people. Having served in the United States Navy Reserve, he knows that is not just for a moment, or in moments—an illness, a lost job, a death of someone we love and just plain separation. Rather, life is hard in a continuous way, as a kind of passage over time. To get from birth to death is very difficult!

However, on top of that our western culture offers distorted and unrealistic views of marriage. More recently, we have seen the very definition of marriage come under attack. Young people watch hundreds of programs on TV and movies showing distorted Hollywood views about marriage. Couples in love who get married or worse, just move in together and cohabitate, are rarely portrayed resolving conflicts.  Everything is wonderful for these fictional couples. Young people raised on a diet of media entertainment expect to live happily ever after, because that is what they regularly see in media depictions of marriage.
 Real marriages have conflict.  The idealized images of marriage portrayed in the media leave many Christians mentally unprepared for the reality of marriage.  Few young people understand God’s higher purposes for marriage. Marriage is a transformative relationship God uses to build our character and finish what our parents left incomplete. Godly marriage is not just to make us happy; it is a process to blend our personality with our spouse and transform husband and wife. Living happily ever after marriage is distinctly possible, but unlikely, unless couples first learn to communicate and resolve conflicts responsibly. Many married couples never learn to resolve their conflicts Bionically.  They start handicapped because they do not understand God’s transformative purpose for their marriage.
 A proper understanding of marriage prepares a couple for the inevitable conflict and helps them to deal with it responsibly. Unfortunately, well-meaning Christian couples often misrepresent what normal marriages look like. We carefully hide our own perfectly normal conflicts from the view of others. This leaves many young couples woefully unprepared for the normal give and take of marriage.  They frequently become discouraged and embarrassed by the reality of their marriage.
 For those outside the support of the church community, it can be even worse.  Many of today’s young “millennial” newly-weds encounter conflict, and promptly file for divorce.  Our friend’s son-in-law is a professional photographer and shoots many weddings.  Some married couples do not even last the two or three weeks until he delivers the final prints from the wedding ceremony.  He knows of several who did not make it through the honeymoon before calling it quits on their marriage.  Not surprisingly, he collects full payment for his photography in advance of the wedding.
It is not surprising young people fed a diet of Hollywood distortions of marriage in movies and TV form unreasonable expectations for their own marriages. In the church, mature couples can counteract these distorted views of marriage by being transparent about their own experiences with conflict.

 I have since learned that not every person who claims to love God is willing to approach marriage from His perspective. However, for those who choose to embrace the principles of Christianity that are important to a true “Christian” marriage, the following tips should be useful.
 Love the way God loves us should be an easy concept to grasp for Christians. 1st Corinthians:13 pretty much lays out the kind of love that God desires for our relationships. Marriage is no exception.
 Remember that Christ is the head of your relationship. By keeping this in mind, you won’t be so quick to push for what YOU want but rather what GOD wants in and from your marriage.
 Submitting to one another is not as tough as it sounds.  At times, putting your partner’s wants and needs above yours is more than just a good idea. It’s Biblical, and straight out of Ephesians 5:21.
 It’s good to speak the truth; just don’t forget the love.  As a Christian, it’s important to tell the truth in your relationship. But to do so without tact or compassion is not a good look if you claim to follow Jesus. Check out Ephesians 4:15
 Being a peacemaker goes a long way towards a healthy marriage. Matthew 5:9 tells us that peacemakers are called “children of God.” As a child of God, always seek out ways to establish peace rather than havoc in your marriage.
 Practice self-denial even though it’s hard. When you deny yourself for your spouse, you gain a greater gift in your marriage. Matthew 16:25 promises life to those who deny themselves for Christ’s sake. So, watching the chick flick with your wife when you don’t feel like it can actually strengthen your marriage.
 Pray together as much as possible. While one of the most challenging things for Christian couples to do, this is one of the most effective. Matthew 18:19-20 reminds us of the importance of two people agreeing in prayer.
 Learn to forgive – It’s not easy to let stuff go when you have been hurt. But, Colossians 3:13 encourages us to forgive as we’ve been forgiven.
 Do not keep a record of wrongs – This is not only harmful, but it is a waste of time. Take heed to 1 Corinthians 13:5 and give your energy to uplifting your marriage.
 Spiritual intimacy is about more than just praying together. Discuss the things you pray about with your spouse and worship God together. In Proverbs 31 we see a couple equally matched in their walk with God and it increased their level of spiritual intimacy. It can do the same for you.
 Being faithful to your spouse should be par for the course. It should go without saying to stay true to your spouse and your marriage vows. But in case there’s some doubt, read, study, understand and implement Hebrews 13:4.
 Enjoy sexual intimacy as God intended. Sex and the Christian couple can be a beautiful thing when you are emotionally and spiritually connected. Enjoy Song of Solomon 4:10 and Matthew 19:5.
 Deal with your finances from a Godly perspective. Christian marriages are just as susceptible to financial strife as any other. Tackle the issue of money God’s way. Matthew 6:24-33 can clue you in.
 Don’t go to bed angry. This is easier said than done, even for Christians. But, it’s not impossible. Let Ephesians 4:26 be your guide to rid yourself of anger even if its cause lingers.
 Pursue righteousness in your relationship. You have a choice in your relationship of whether to pursue things that build it up or those that tear it down. When God comes first, Proverbs 15:9 tells why righteousness is the way to go.
 Be humble towards your mate and apologize quickly.  The Christian heart should be sensitive to hurting others, much less your life partner. Own up to your mistakes as in Psalm 51:3.
 Sin shouldn’t get a pass in your relationship. Christian couples can form unspoken truces…” you leave me alone with my sin, and I’ll leave you alone with yours.” To help each other grow, and without being judgmental, call sin out when you see it.
 Allow God’s Spirit to work in your marriage. When Christian couples allow God’s Spirit to work, there’s an emotional connection they experience that helps to lead to the success of their union. See Ephesians 5:17-18
 Lead by example just as Jesus did. This one can be a little tricky for some couples.  Suffice it to say that doing the right thing doesn’t give you bragging rights. It just means you’ve taken 1 Corinthians 11:1 to heart.
 Work daily towards unity in your marriage. Colossians 3:13-14 should be the go-to scripture for Christian marriages. It just about covers it all but wraps it up nicely with the importance of unity.

There are so many other scriptures and principles that can be used as a blueprint for a healthy Christian marriage. But this is a good place to start. Just remember God intends us to be happy and together!  I know that my wife is not only my best friend but a GIFT from God!

Blaming robs you of your power to determine your life. It leads you to inaction. Instead of looking for ways to improve your situation you are paralyzed and you never stop on blaming others for your misery. Do not wait for prosperity from anyone. If you want prosperity, you have to create it yourself. Only you and God working in you can create the wealth you want.
You are the product of your Thoughts, Choices, and Habits
Each one of us was given the free will to think, to choose, and to act. Remember that you alone are responsible for your actions. You create your life. You create your dreams. Only you have the power over yourself.
Use this to create a new pattern of success.
Your future is in your hands. Start now by changing your destructive habits and create a new pattern of success. Concentrate on the things that you have influence over. Concentrate on what you can do for yourself.
Secret №2: Enlarging your psychological wallet.
Most of us are poor because psychologically we do not want to be rich. Our minds have been programmed to resist money. Our money problems are actually mind problems. Here are some situations why this could be so:
Your mind has been conditioned to think that receiving a lot of money is shameful and is against the will of God.
You are uncomfortable with money. So when you receive more than what you usually earn, you try to get rid of the excess amount as soon as possible.
You parents (the people you grew up with) have made you come to believe that you are poor. Most parents would reprimand their kids telling them not to insist on buying this or that stating that ‘we don’t have money and we are poor’ as the main reason. This somehow conditions the mind of the child to think that he/she is poor.
Subconsciously, you could be believing that money is bad, that rich people are evil, and that doing business is dirty. Subconsciously, you are avoiding wealth.
How do you overcome this?
You must increase your money comfort zone. You must learn to be comfortable to receive money.
One way is to visualize and imagine receiving money. See yourself earning double of what you are earning now. Get comfortable with that.
Improve your self-image. At the end of the day, who you are does not count. It is who you THINK you are that determines your SUCCESS.
Align your desires with the results that you want. Contradicting desires create contradicting results.
Rip out your negative family labels.
After you have changed your mindset, it is time to enlarge your skills to match the size of your psychological wallet. Read financial books, ask financial mentors, read personal finance blogs like this one, learn how to invest, start your own business, and reap the benefits of earning passive income.
Secret №3: Get rid of religious beliefs that may be hindering you from accepting money and
becoming financially free. More than you know it, your religious beliefs actually contribute in determining your wealth. Melvin Feller states, “Religious beliefs are so deep, so wedged to your core identity, you follow them even if you’re not aware that you’re following them.”
Point #1: Have you romanticized Poverty?
Religion can romanticize poverty. We can be led to think that to be poor is better than to be rich because God favors the poor. We can believe that poor people go to heaven and that rich people go to hell. We must not think this way. Instead, it is true that God loves the poor and favors them but that is because he wants to accompany them in their difficult journey so that they can RISE FROM POVERTY. God does not want you to remain poor!
Point #2: Do you believe that the Rich will not enter Heaven?
God did not say that it is impossible for the rich to enter heaven. God also needs the godly people who will run businesses, give jobs, and bless the world with great services and great products.
Point #3: Do you practice the “I hate myself” Spirituality?
Some people remain poor because they believe they are being punished, that it is the will of God. When God sees us in poverty, He weeps. He does not want to see us suffer.
Point #4: Have you relied on God too much?
Melvin Feller believes that “one of the biggest reasons why we don’t receive God’s blessings is because we rely on Him too much. We surrender to Him what He doesn’t want us to surrender: our stewardship.” Do not expect God to do the very things He expects YOU to do.
Point #5: Do you disguise your laziness as faith?
Most of us wants God to hand us everything on a silver platter, to the extent that we do not exert enough effort to get what we want anymore. Do not confuse faith with your laziness. Faith requires action. God usually uses the sweat, the effort, the tears and the struggle you go through to form your character and give you what you need.
Point #6: Are you obsessed with the Purely Miraculous?
Sometimes we get too obsessed with receiving miracles in our lives. We tend buy lottery tickets and ask God to let us win. Although God sometimes grant these wishes, it would be too much to ask of this every day and simply do nothing in exchange.
Point #7: If your favorite phrase is “I Leave it up to You”.
Religion can cause us to rely on fate too much, leaving everything to God. We must learn to do our parts as well in order to allow God to do his miracles in our lives. God designed us to work and trust — not simply to trust.
The first three Secrets deal with changing our mindsets when it comes to money, wealth, and being rich. The secret will focus on how you can achieve your goals by being committed to your dreams.
Secret №4: Be Completely Committed to Your Dreams
Melvin Feller defines three levels of desire: Wish, Want, and Commitment. When we WISH we just hope for something to happen but actually do nothing to fulfill that wish. Usually, nothing happens at this level. When we WANT something, we put in a little action to fulfill that want. Unfortunately, though, the passion does not last that long and we abandon the goal after a while. The third level is COMMITMENT. When we are committed, we start to believe what we say and we work towards achieving that dream for the long run. If we want to be rich, we have to be COMMITTED.
Melvin Feller also defines three types of living: Moviegoer, Actor, and Actor-Scriptwriter. Moviegoers watch the movies of their lives, admiring some parts and criticizing other parts but aside from that, they do not do anything else. Actors are those that do not only watch the movie of their lives but also realize that they can control a big part of their lives. They enjoy some level of control but they realize that they have no say in such things as deciding the ending of the movie. Actor-Scriptwriters are those that do not only watch, do not only act, but also actually create the entire movie from their minds. They determine what they will say and how the movie will end.
You have the power to create the life you want. Be the scriptwriter of your life.
In committing to your goals and dreams, it is important to do the following:
Write down your Dreams!
Read your Dreams Every day!
Apply the Power of Focus.
Apply the Power of Attraction.
By writing your dreams, you open yourself to life’s river of abundance. Be as detailed as you can get. In addition, when you read what you wrote down daily, you multiply the power of that river tenfold. If you will do this every day, you will be surprised at how moneymaking opportunities will open up before you. Actually, they are already there, waiting for you to discover them. The universe adjusts to your expectations. So instead of you searching for money, let money search for you. Attract money and become and money magnet.
Secret №5: Raise Your Financial I.Q.
Some people think that buying books or attending seminars about finance / personal finance are a waste of money. However, what these people do not know is that being financially ignorant is actually more expensive! You may be an expert in your current profession but knowing How money works is a totally different field of expertise. Lesson 1: Avoid Bad Debt like Bad Bacteria Robert Kiyosaki in his bestselling book Rich Dad, Poor Dad explained that bad debt is when we buy things that take money away from our pockets. Melvin Feller goes on to suggest the following crucial actions you need to make if you are buried under a lot of debt.
Declare your Freedom Day
Set a target date when you want to be debt-free and call if your Freedom Day. Read, think, and pray about it daily. Focus on your freedom and not on all your debts.
Create New Ways of Pleasure
Examine your lifestyle and cut back on your expenses. Find new and simple ways of joy, and pleasure. Preferably, find substitutes that are free or much less expensive but that can provide the same level of pleasure or even more.
Schedule Your Steps to Freedom
Schedule your debt payments. Start paying off high-interest loans first. Try looking for loans with lower interests, where you can transfer your current high-interest loans.
Do not Borrow When You Can’t Afford it — Period!
Melvin Feller also suggests, “Don’t borrow to buy consumer goods ever again. If you don’t have money right now to buy it, then don’t buy it.” If you cannot discipline yourself to use credit cards then get rid of them.
Negotiate with Your Creditors
Banks and other lending institutions are ran by human beings after all. Meet with them regularly and assure them that you will pay. Negotiate with them. Ask them if they can lower the interest rate. Do not back down simply because they say it is policy. Everything is negotiable.
Secret №6: Ride Something to Wealth!
Melvin Feller encourages us to ride as many vehicles to wealth. We can choose to ride bicycles, cars, or even airplanes to wealth!
By riding vehicles to wealth, Feller emphasizes the importance of having multiple income streams. It does not matter how small the income stream is as long as there is an inflow of cash. Another point Feller stresses is the importance of profit over wages. Profit, of thought process, is achieved by running your own business as opposed to receiving wages as an employee.
Melvin Feller uses the analogy to going from one place to another to illustrate the importance of riding vehicles to wealth. Let us say you want to get from point A to point B, one can either walk, ride a bicycle, ride a car, or ride an airplane to reach point B. The difference is on how fast each alternative will get you to your destination. Definitely walking will take you the longest time to reach your destination while riding an airplane will most likely get you there faster.
In our case as money magnets, our goal is to become financially free. We want to become wealthy enough so that in the future we do not have to worry on a daily basis about where to get money to spend for our daily needs. On certain occasions, we may also want extra money for luxurious and leisurely activities. Walking to reach our goal equates to leaving our money in regular savings accounts and time deposits. Although our money earns interest, it will take years before the earnings become meaningful. On the other hand, Feller likens riding a bicycle to investing our money in Investment funds. Investment funds can be either UITFs, Mutual Funds, or Stocks. By investing our savings in Investment funds, we can potentially earn more and reach our goal faster.
Secret №7: Create a bias for Action
This is the secret to just make things happen!
While we are taught to aim before we fire, Feller on the other hand uses “Ready … Fire! Aim …(And fire again … Aim …)” on his projects. Melvin Feller, of course, does not encourage recklessness. That is why the first step is “Ready.” He just wants to discourage what most of us are likely to end up doing — that is to keep on aiming but never fire. As one of the Truly Rich Principles, Feller explains, “For pioneers, perfectionism is never a good strategy.” We must allow ourselves to fail. Moreover, when we do, we must then learn to forgive ourselves and bring ourselves to act again.
Not all success can be counted in dollars; not all richness is measured by money. “The great secret of success is to go through life as a person who never gets used up,” said Albert Schweitzer.
“Retire upon yourself and look for the ultimate cause of things inside you.” Look within yourself for the ultimate inspiration, and follow the true feelings you discover. “One of my favorite methods is to whisper,” said Alfred Hitchcock. “I’ve discovered the best work is done with sweet reason.”
Act upon your own conscience -that guides; that judges your actions and signals your behavior. “Conscience is the inner voice that warns us that someone may be looking,” wrote H.L. Mencken.
Accomplish what you desire; fulfill your inner yearnings. However, do not compromise your deepest feelings. “We do our best that we know how at the moment, and if it doesn’t turn out, we modify it,” said F.D. Roosevelt. Follow the paths that life offers you and live the fullest existence you can.
Look. Look at yourself and look at those who have succeeded throughout history. Do you have what it takes? Even if you have only a few of the qualities of the other great people, you can achieve your heart’s desire.
Reach for the highest, and then reach higher. Accomplish your steps one by one on a daily basis, always moving forward, always making progress. Encourage yourself. Insist that you can succeed and affirm these thoughts daily.
Keep a sense of proportion and judge for yourself. Then keep busy at the tasks you have set out to accomplish. What is keeping you? “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration,” said Albert Einstein.
Find inspiration wherever you can. Talk to people; read about people; learn your business or craft. Believe that you can do it and you will. The only way to dispel the doubt that you can do something is to finish it.
Always be the best you can be. Never fall short from fatigue or lethargy. Do not attempt to do anything that you cannot give your all to.
There is no way to inner satisfaction without appealing to the higher consciousness. Search within and without to find the paths that are meant for you and follow them with conviction and a steady heart. Moreover, you will succeed to become as rich and full as you ever desired.

According to Melvin Feller most, entrepreneurs do not like to set like to goals.  Melvin Feller suggests that a smarter move would be to learn why you need to consider your goals carefully.   This can be done by carefully considering the benefits of creating a bird’s-eye-view list of goals you want to achieve from now until the rest of your life.
 Therefore, Melvin Feller feels that there is no way to get somewhere if you do not know where you are going. Goals are landmarks on a map. They are direction for you to take that will benefit you once you get there.

 Ok, now that you have your long list of goals, the next step in the process is choosing which ones are most important. Do not neglect this step! Most people can focus and achieve one major goal per year. I will show you how you can do more than one, but you still need to choose your top 5 or 10 goals for the next year.

People who never make a choice end up failing.
Why?
 Because there is no focus.
 Imagine you wanted to cut a piece of wood in half. You have three tools to choose from a baseball bat, a steel rod, or a razor sharp cutting saw. What tool would you choose? The saw of course!
  Why? Because the saw’s focus is on one thing and one thing only – efficient cutting. The baseball bat drawn across wood is not focused on a single point; it is too wide to cut anything. The same thing is true with a steel rod.

 Therefore, by choosing your topmost goals and especially your #1 goal is the most important. It gives you focus. It gives you direction. Additionally, it gives you a strong purpose to shoot for.
 Have you ever heard of people getting depressed because they feel they do not have a purpose or direction? Having a major goal – something to work toward is liberating and creates feelings of happiness and wellbeing.
 How to choose your top goals
 At first glance, it may seem very simple to choose your top goal(s) – but not so fast. There is a VERY Important thought for you to consider. That is how you will follow through on your choice.
  You must choose a goal you will enjoy following through on until it is complete. Let me give you an example of how most people get this wrong.
Many of my clients just pick something like “To have an extra $30,000 in the bank.” While that goal is inspiring for some people. It does not inspire everyone. For someone like me, I do not like shooting for a piece of paper (i.e. a bank statement with the number 30,000 on it). I will get bored within the first week. Instead, what makes more sense is to use a goal that eventually leads to a $30,000 payday. A goal like starting a home business gets the $30,000 done but in a much more fun way. Does this make sense?

I recommend people choose a goal that involves action and interest. A goal to lose 10 lbs. does not thrill me to death. However, a go from the couch to a 5k run sounds exciting. Losing 10 lbs. becomes a by-product of running a 5k.
 Choosing the right top goal does involve some soul searching. However, it is worth every minute.
 Be wise. Select an inspiring, exciting and fun top goal and you will get it done.
