Melvin Feller MA Looks Emotional Management and Your Business
Melvin Feller is known as “The Entrepreneur’s Mentor” because Melvin walks his talk. Melvin Feller has been there and done that and more importantly, Melvin Feller knows how to transfer the skill set for success.  This is main reason that he has been the sought after coach to hundreds of small business owners, entrepreneurs, Realtors, Real estate investors and service professional internationally. Melvin Feller’s main talent is to show you how the step by step process to build and enjoy a successful 6-figure plus business while having a balanced life.  Melvin Feller maintains an office in Texas.  Melvin Feller is currently pursuing another graduate degree as an MBA.
Emotions are powerful forces influencing our everyday behavior.  Yet until recently, emotions have not received the attention they deserve.  The first step in regulating and managing emotions is learning to identify and label them as they occur.  This ability often requires not only the ability to observe one’s emotional responses in situations but also to describe with a sense of accuracy the context in which the emotions occur.  Hence, learning to identify an emotional response is aided enormously if one can recognize, describe, and understand the major attributes that constitutes each emotion and then use these attributes to create a more effective result.  However, for most of us this is not an easy task.  However, by becoming one with our emotional experiences, we can learn the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and reactions in order to manage them better.
Tumblr media
It starts by understanding how the struggle to meet emotional demands affects you.
Stress cannot be avoided.  How we deal with “it” can greatly influence how “it” affects us.  Emotional stress is predictable and always has the same effect on others, the environment, and ourselves.  For example, when emotional stress persists too long, it causes a reaction.  At first, our body will resist the emotional imbalance.  We may continue to resist successfully unless the stress continues for too long, too hard, or too often.  At some exhaustion and the results are usually sabotaging, disruptive, or destructive.  It is not the emotional stress itself that causes damage, but your ability or inability to successfully cope with it.  The three major factors that determine the degree of emotional stress we will experience with any given situation are lack of predictability, lack of control, and lack of outlets for frustration.  We realize that the best and most optimal plan for managing emotional stress is prevention—through understanding emotional stress and then creating acceptable coping skills.
76.6% of Americans are faced with the daily effects of     emotional-stress
Pressures of Expectations:  41.18%
Frustrations:  39.32%
Conflicts:  19.50%
Emotionally Balanced Professionals Make More Effective Decisions and Choices
Tumblr media
The constant question in today’s workplace is if it is possible to improve the social and emotional competence of adult workers.  Research in training and development, sports psychology, and behavior change suggests that it is possible, but the typical approach used in present day training programs usually fail to accomplish this intended goal.  Social and emotional learning is different from cognitive and technical learning, and it requires a different approach.
From the time we enter kindergarten, our educational systems focus on honing our cognitive or technical skills.  Virtually no emphasis is placed on the education of managing the inner conflicts and unbalanced emotions we experience every day.  As "emotional intelligence" becomes more widely used and understood, educators are realizing that cognitive ability is not the sole critical determinant of our aptitude to flourish in today's society.  Proficiency in emotional management, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills is essential to develop inner self-security and become able to effectively deal with the pressures and obstacles that will inevitably arise in our lives.

What do your daily thoughts look like?
I have learned that what we think about has the greatest impact on our success.
Learning to monitor my thoughts and cut out negative thinking has helped me grow personally and professionally!
As an entrepreuner it is so important to not allow negativity to take root and derail us - espeically when things are frustrating or challenging,
It takes work to stay positive and one way to help cultivate a positive mindset is through affirmations.
Not wishful thinking, but actually positive words we speak to ourselves to create a new mindset.
Instead of: This is too hard. Say: I can do hard things.
Instead of: I am not smart enough Say: I am smart and I can learn new things.
Instead of: What if I fail? Say: What if I succeed?
Speak words of life and possibility over yourself!
I do this everyday!
In the hardest days when I am feeling discouraged, I will say “I can do this!” over and over again as reprogram my brain to think and move in possibility.
It helps stop the barrage of negative thoughts and reminds me that I actually CAN do this!
How do stay positive in challenging times?

London, sir, was a place for entrepreuners and ambitious scholars. But by no means was it a place for lovers. A perfect location for one-night stands, but never lovers. Everyone smiled but no one meant it. It became a habit of mine too. At the end, I became successful in my career but failed in life.

Are You Worth $400.00 an Hour – You Should Be by Mel Feller

Are You Worth $400.00 an Hour – You Should Be by Mel Feller
Mel Feller, MPA, MHR with Offices in Texas and Utah
Mel Feller Seminars, Coaching For Success 360 Inc. /Mel Feller Coaching See www.melfellersuccessstories.com and www.melfeller.com
Let me ask you a simple question: Why would you pay someone four dollars an hour?
The simple answer is, they are not very valuable. That is what Jim Rohn would call “the facts.”
Now, to make more money, that person could go on strike. The problem with that is, you cannot get rich by demand.
Maybe they say, “I’m waiting for a raise.” You could be waiting a long time.
My question to you is, why not just become more valuable. If you do become a valuable accountant, real estate agent, real estate investor, lawyer…then you could make $400 an hour instead of $4 an hour.
Individuals who make $4 an hour play the numbers game. It is as they are working at Wal-Mart, except Wal-Mart starts at 11:00 dollars an hour. The mistake they are making is they are working harder on their job.
Nevertheless, that is not how to do it.
The secret to becoming more valuable…to earning $400 an hour…is to learn to work harder on yourself.
What does that look like? Here are three things Jim Rohn says you should work on:
 Philosophy
What is your worldview? Moreover, I am not just talking about your spiritual worldview (which is important). I am also talking about your emotional worldview. Your economic. What is your overriding view on family? Work hours?
Let’s focus on economics for a second. Answer these questions to help you determine your economic philosophy.
Do you think the world has an abundance of money and leads and clients, or is the pool shallow making the work world a cutthroat environment?
Do you believe you can get rich? Do you believe that you can be the best entrepreuner in the world? Do you believe that success is something that is learned rather than something that we are born with?
How you answer these questions will determine your outlook on your professional life. Let’s move on to your attitude.
 Attitude
Attitude differs from philosophy in that this is how you respond to the facts of the world. The reality is you may be a entrepreneur or business person who works ten hour days–six days a week–to put food on your dinner table. Your philosophy would say, “You know what, I know that I don’t have to live like this. We live in a country blessed with abundant resources and many opportunities to do better than this. However, nobody is going to give me a free ride. I have to make it happen.”
Your attitude says either “I’m going to make it happen and enjoy the ride. No matter what happens. I am not going to give up. I am going to serve people relentlessly. And I’m going to be very, very happy with what I have–whether it’s a CEO’s salary or nothing at all.”
 Activity
Here is where the rubber meets the road. What are you doing to becoming more valuable? Are you reading a book every week? Are you going to educational seminars? On the other hand, you learning how to communicate AND connect with people?
Do you spend time honing your skill as a good listener? Are you carving out good time with your family? Have you chosen a mentor? Moreover, are you being honest with that mentor?
These are all great questions to ask yourself to help you become a better person. It starts with your overall view of how the world works. Then it comes down to how you are going to respond to those world–brutal facts and all.
Finally, you put legs to your philosophy and attitude by going out and working on yourself. That is the key to becoming valuable. Now, what are you waiting for? Get to it

Melvin Feller MA Discusses the Effective Communication
Although all of us have been communicating with others since early childhood, the process of transmitting information from an individual or group to another is a very complex process with many sources of potential error.  By the time a message gets from a sender to a receiver, there are four basic places where transmission errors can occur and at each place, there are multitudes of potential sources of error.  Social psychologists estimate that there is usually a 40-60% loss of meaning in the transmission of messages from sender to receiver.  People in organizations typically spend over 75% of their time in an interpersonal situation.  Therefore, it is no surprise to find that at the root of a large number of organizational problems is poor communications. In a work setting, interactions involve people who often do not have years of experience communicating with each other.  These interactions are further complicated by the complex relationships that exist at work.
Tumblr media
It is critical to understand and be aware of the potential sources of communication barriers and constantly avoid these barriers by making a conscientious effort to make sure there is a minimal loss of meaning in your communication.  The following will suggest a number of barriers to effective communication at work:
The     choice of words or language which a sender uses (called     'encoding the message') will influence the quality of     communication.  In the English language, there are about 500 basic     words that are used everyday.  These 500 words have over     10,000 different meanings.  Because language is a symbolic representation     of a phenomenon, room for interpretation and distortion of the meaning     exists.
Misreading     body language, tone, and other non-verbal forms of communication
Ignoring     non-verbal language
Selective     hearing
Hesitation     to be candid
Distrust
Value     judgment
Power     struggles
Unreliable     transmission (due to noise or inconsistent sending)
Defensiveness (a     typical barrier
in a     work situation, especially when negative information or criticism is     involved)
Distorted     perception (How we perceive communication is affected by     experiences.  Perception is also affected by the organizational     relationship two people have.  For example, communication from a     superior may be perceived differently than from a subordinate or peer.)
Guilt
Distortions     from the past
Stereotyping (assuming     the other person has certain characteristics based on the group to which     they belong without validating that they in fact have these     characteristics)
Cultural     differences (Effective communication requires deciphering the basic     values, motives, aspirations, and assumptions that operate across     geographical lines.  Given some dramatic differences across cultures,     the opportunities for miscommunication in cross-cultural situations are     enormous.)
What are the barriers to effective communication you need to overcome?  How will you overcome these barriers in order to achieve success?  How will you encourage others to be aware of barriers and work to overcome them in order to build and maintain effective communication within your organization?  Answering these questions will begin the process of overcoming communication barriers.
Tumblr media
Effective communication is an essential component of organizational success whether it is at the interpersonal, intergroup, intragroup, organizational, or external levels.

That thing about "glorified" success
Say, what success is? What is that thing that people is chasing for hardly? Is it a good score in school? Is it having a good job, making a lot of money? Whether employed or being entrepreuner? Is it a personal fulfillment? Following your one passion, such as to travel around the world? I think, as long as we live, it is true that we have to keep chasing those things above. But, I think society is too focused in one type of success that often put pressure to oneself. Another say in putting pressure is maybe, we are too busy in comparing ourselves to other people that we forget we may have achieved our "own" success too. Thus, I agree with the quote that says "the important thing today is just do better than yesterday". Success should not be about getting score 10 or A in every subject. It's a good thing, of course, but it should be gradually improve score. Maybe this quiz you'll get 5, then success means that the next quiz you get 6. 6? Not 10? So what about it? Why you should focus on one type of academic success, getting full score? Success should not be about "that genius who makes an app at young age, sell it for million dollars", or "that genius who able to hack or solve hacking problem", or "she/he who started business from college days", or "she or he working in such big company". They are amazing, of course, also inspiring, good role model for the youth. But, what's wrong with just able to type a simple word document and ppt document instead of making that one great app? Maybe, some people takes months also to learn that. What's wrong with just understand and able to solve one lecturer's asignment instead of juggling with many entrepreneural adventures. Maybe, some people also sacrifice sleeps for that. What's wrong with just working for small company, at least you have your own money to pay bills. The media often glorifies achievement of "big" wonderful people, that we often feel small of our own "big" achievement. Success should not be about "that adventurer who travels around the world", or "that passionate people who love making videos on youtube", or "that religious person who is, well, able to do a lot of kind of ibadah". They are wonderful, of course, also very brave. But, what's wrong with just visiting your grandparents's house. Maybe some people just have the money and time, enough to visit their relatives.  Also, what's wrong with just want to have a stable day-to-day job, which maybe we don't have that many passion in it. Some people just need to feed for their family. And, because I am moslem, what's wrong with just able to do 5 times pray in a day and fasting in Ramadhan, instead of going umroh so many times. A lot of us have known deep down we want to do it also. We do not have to feel small for all the things that we are doing now. So what? Maybe your score, your school, you working condition, your financial condition seem not that great according to the society. Do not feel small, do not feel like you have not achieved anything. Celebrate any small achievement you made today, and just do better tomorrow. The sun will rise again and you'll somehow will get to your own success land.

Hello r/entrepreuners,I’m a 24 year old entrepreneur with several successes and fails, and now I’d like to start a high-end, made in Italy, fashion brand. And I need your help!I have come up with an amazing unique fashion concept in 2016. The idea consists of fashion apparel made in Italy. Low quantities, made in Italy, exclusive, highest quality, high price. Because of the concept, I'm forced to bring this kind of high level in all areas (packaging, designs, quality, etc). After several attempts to realise the idea trying to launch the first pieces of clothing and brand, but I’m still no where! This is making me frustrated. Why I think it hasn't been realised yet? The idea forces me to bring top notch fashion items (design and quality wise, preferably made in Italy), which is making the development too long, hard and expensive for me.I don’t have any experience in making high-end fashion items, designs or else.I have not enough knowledge about the making off a high end made in Italy clothing piece. F.ex timing, manufactures, process, etc...I have not enough budget to outsource everything. What have I done so far yet? I have written a business planI have studied a clothing maker education (small one) I have planned how and what will be my first launch of clothing I have tried to make a prototype and launch it on Kickstarter (prototype was not high-end, unique and beautiful enough, so I did not launch the campaign)I have tried to apply to find a Business Angel(Investors group), but they are not accepting me because I have no sales and statistics yet (but they wanted me, if only I had statics I can come back). BUT because of the concept, after my first launch, chances are high I don’t need an investor afterwards. So I’m really struggling with the first step. So, what am I asking Reddit for? This idea contains such high level which I feel like is very hard to achieve, especially for me with not enough knowledge, no fashion degree nor enough money. I'm currently working as a stock controller and I save around 500-1k a month. I’m a very capable men with a wide interest, a fashion taste, a fast learning curve and broad knowledge. I have made several projects a success, but this is too much for me atm.Personally I feel like I have to find an investor, but this is hard because I have no sales (and this will never change bc I can't realise anything). To finance it all myself will take really long. What would you advise me to make this idea happen?Looking forward to your answers.Kind regards,Philippe*if you’re interested in working/investing/whatever, I'd love to hear.

How to Pitch
This week, our mentor Mr. Bronson Mabulay had introduced to us the types and ways on how to pitch. The important parts to cover in pitching our product, service or design. There is the elevator pitch and the 5 minutes demo pitch. And in those moments, our goal would be to present our product well and persuasively. And to be able to convince the investors to trust the success of our product and invest in our company.
Pitching a product, service or idea to an investor is the most important moment in an entrepreuners life. It is the part more closely associated with a startup experience. The promise of doing it to real, live investors is the grand prize of entreprenuers everywhere. But for now, we’re still learning on how to do it. And practice it in front of panels with different credibilities.
So in pitching, there are things that you must consider. First is the content of your pitch and second is how you deliver it. Your startup pitch must be simple. The most important thing to remember is that investors are overwhelmed with investment proposals. So you need to be more clear and concise. And quickly outline your startup idea and assure the investors a return on their investments.
Your goal would be to see a nod in every investors. You need to make them agree that your startup is a good investment. Avoid giving them confused facial expressions. End your pitch with an applause and approval. And not with investors having a lot of questions in their minds.
