Here’s some context for why we did this: the official English subtitles for this movie are dubtitles, or in other words, the English dub script with names and terms swapped out and pasted on as subtitles. There are a few lines changed here and there, but almost all of the lines are a dub transcript in practice. Dubs are a very different form of adaptation that have their own unique requirements, so doing something like this is really bad translation praxis, and to be honest, it’s disappointing to see yet another major piece of Digimon media be stuck with subpar translation standards, again.
Since I figured that it would be helpful to have a more precisely done translation out there, if at least for reference, I went ahead and retranslated the entire thing from scratch.
As far as casual viewing goes, I’ll fully admit that there are a lot of places where the official version is punchier and has better flow than mine, since they had license to adapt things more freely than a fan translator like me would. But once you go beyond that, the official subs have the following issues:
Since they’re actually dubtitles, there is a substantial mismatch between what’s written in the subtitles and what’s actually being said in Japanese to an extent far beyond what should be acceptable for subtitling. As I said earlier, I personally believe they’re still decent enough for casual viewing purposes, but there are enough differences in details and nuance that would matter for people who want to analyze the movie more thoroughly.
The official translation has a number of issues that affect consistency with Adventure series themes, timeline, and lore in places where there were no such issues in the original Japanese dialogue. (This is a problem that also affected LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna‘s official translation.) This is something that can be a huge deal for a lot of Digimon fans, so while it’s not something that would have led to this decision by itself, it was a huge factor.
Originally, I was only planning to release a script file to be used with Blu-ray footage, but it seems that all of the official English subbed/dubbed releases have animation errors that were corrected only in the Japanese Blu-ray, so I went ahead and put together my own encode based on the latter. I’ll take the encode down if they somehow decide to put out an updated release that fixes all of these problems, but…seriously? In 2024? And after the disaster that was LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna‘s official release, too? Come on.

A Eulogy for my Playstation 4 Pro
So since I was a brain genius who decided to transfer all my fundraiser money to my bank account on a weekend, let's have a little eulogy for my poor Playstation 4 Pro.
I bought it in 2017 after a hellish move from Colorado to Nevada. We'd lived in Colorado for 26 years, and rented the same house for 24 of those years. I literally grew up in that house. Then our landlords got greedy (as all landlords eventually do), almost tripled our rent, and we had to move.
One of the last things I did before I packed up my computer was release The Definitive Way to Play Sonic Adventure on Youtube. That video was a modest success, but it had a secondary effect where a no-commentary gameplay video I'd uploaded for the fangame Sonic Utopia got picked up by the algorithm as a result, and that video suddenly took off like wildfire. I found myself sitting on a pair of videos that were about to pull in close to a combined 3 million views. It was the most I'd had a video blow up in a very long time.
I was now flush with a few thousand dollars of cash that I could do whatever I wanted with. That was great, as I got to help cover some moving expenses. I gave my Mom some money, I paid one of the deposits on our new apartment, paid to fix some stuff that got broken in the move, I bought myself a new desk, new computer chair, some storage shelves, a new bed frame, and still had about $700 left to spare. So I bought a PS4 Pro and a small handful of games (The Nathan Drake Collection, Yakuza Kiwami, The Last of Us Remastered, and Parappa the Rapper Remastered, I think). It was the first true next-generation console I'd bought in 11 years -- I'd had a Wii U, but that doesn't count.
Within that first year, I'd already run into my first problem with that Playstation 4. Back in the Xbox 360 era, I had a moment in my life where I was a psychopath that was running a media server off my PC. Every morning I'd wake up, download everything my Youtube subs had posted the day before, along with whatever GiantBomb had uploaded that day, and threw it up on the media server. The 360 could see the server, and those downloads would basically become my background noise for the day. I watched the entire GiantBomb Persona 4 Endurance Run that way: on the 360, through my media server. For context, these were the days before there was any way to watch Youtube on a television. There was no app. Youtube was just a website. So the Media Server was what I had to do to see Youtube on another screen.
In the move out to Nevada, I'd bought a cheap 32GB USB thumbdrive from the back-to-school section at Wal-mart and filled it full of movies and videos and stuff. With the PS4 set up, I plugged that thumbdrive in and tried out the PS4's media player capabilities, hoping it worked like the Xbox 360.
It did... for about 45 minutes. In the middle of watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie the media player suddenly crashed and refused to see the USB thumbdrive anymore. I reached down to pull it out only to find it was almost too hot to touch. I might have actually dropped the thumbdrive because it shocked me just how hot it was. I have never felt a piece of electronics be that hot before.
For the rest of that day, that USB port was dead. Nothing you plugged into it would be recognized. Eventually, it finally started working with controllers, but it never accepted any other thumbdrives, ever.
After about three years, I started to notice recordings were starting to get a little weird. Clips I'd record of my Fortnite matches would have huge 2-3 second chunks go missing, or the encoding would corrupt and smear. But then it went away, so I figured maybe it was just a problem with the game and not the console. It'd come back every now and then, maybe once a year, but it only ever happened with Fortnite, and only occasionally.
About a year and a half ago, I started to notice something else weird. Unless there was a specific game I needed to play for work stuff (like Sonic Frontiers or whatever), my PS4 was mostly just a Fortnite machine, and mainly because the PC version of Fortnite is a disaster.
But for months I'd left a disc in my PS4's disc drive. I think it was probably Balan Wonderworld or something, and as I booted up Fortnite for my daily founder's mission rewards, I noticed a sound. I'd been hearing it on and off for a while, but now I was finally paying attention to it. I realized: the console was sitting there scanning the disc, over and over and over, like it couldn't read it. I'd hear the disc motor spin up, the soft click-click-click as the read head scanned for data. It'd spin down, spin up, click-click-click, whirrrrrr, click-click, spin down, spin up, etc. Over and over. It'd do this for a good 30-45 seconds, then finally settle down and identify the disc.
The first time I noticed this, I ejected the Balan disc and put in something else; I think it was Dreams. PS4 read the disc instantly. I shrugged, figured maybe the Balan disc was just cursed and didn't think anything of it.
About a week later, I caught it doing it with the disc for Dreams. And then Sonic Frontiers. Then Sonic Superstars. Pretty much any disc I'd put in there. As the months wore on, it started taking multiple minutes for it to identify the disc.
A few weeks before it died, I ended up taking the disc out and basically resigning myself to only putting a disc in if I was going to play it, and removing that disc the moment I was done, because that scanning process seemed like it was making the problem worse.
A few months before it died, I got a full hardware crash on the console. The error code it gave me pointed to a hardware failure, but a google revealed that it was a generic error code that could mean literally anything. Right around this time, the video corruption in my Fortnite recordings came back around. I had a feeling it was the HDD.
Thus began the saga of trying to replace my PS4's HDD. I knew it could take SSDs, so I did some research, saved up $100, and bought a 2TB SSD that was compatible with the console. Followed Sony's official instructions on replacing the HDD, and...
It didn't work.
I vowed to get my money back and order a different HDD, but prices went up and realizing the other mounting problems with this machine (including the fried USB port), and my general mood overall, I just kept the money and figured I'd ride or die until the machine breathed its last.
8 months later... it refused to boot up at all.
Rest in piece, king. The only other console I've ever had straight up die on me like this was my Xbox 360, and if I'm being honest, I kind of smothered that poor boy a little bit hoping to get a sturdier console back from the repair center.
(I did not, but that's a story for another day.)

The Rise and Fall of Matrix 1.0 in Shadowrun
If you know what this is, then we are friends. Hoi chummer.
If you don’t then I’ll first start with what it’s not:
Matrix (mathematics)
John Matrix from Commando
Extracellular matrix
Like most cyberpunk elements within Shadowrun, the use of “matrix” as a virtual-reality driven computer environment derives from William Gibson’s Neuromancer, published in 1984. So yes, Shadowrun rips this off, though not to the infamy that…
…this franchise did.
The Matrix came out in 1999. It was revolutionary in its special effects, realizing Keanu Reeves had a greater range than being Ted, and getting a generation of sci-fi fans to read Baudrillard.
Baudrillard did not write this book.
I’m sure there’s been much written about the central tenet of the movie – that we are living in a simulation – so much so that I’m not bothering to do any research on that topic and get back to the main topic.
Matrix Topology
In college, a group of us Shadowrun nerds tried to recruit a computer-savvy friend to make a character and join our campaign. Naturally, we suggested a decker, and soon had him trying to infiltrate his first system, looking for some mcguffin.txt file that our team was hired to find.
Him: “Well, can’t I just grep it or something?”
Us: “Uhh… that’s not how computers work.”
Him: *already out the door*
The thing to remember about all implementation of computing and hacking in games is that:
It is absolutely nothing like how it works in real life, yet…
…some people will believe it to be chip-truth anyway.
Which is true for every aspect of RPGs – especially combat systems. Sometimes this is amusing – like watching D&D players trying to swing a real sword, and sometimes this leads to the United States Secret Service raiding the offices of Steve Jackson Games over GURPS Cyberpunk.
How can you consider this a threat to the Nation when The World of Synnibarr exists?
The Matrix – in Neuromancer, in the film franchise, in Shadowrun – is built upon telephone networks. In order to connect to a Bulletin Board System (BBS), your computer’s modem (a telephone that speaks computer) had to dial an old-fashioned phone number. Which meant that you had to know what that number is beforehand – there was no equivalent to Google. This is why in the movie WarGames (1983), Ferris Bueller is wardialing – calling every number in an area code to search for the few that connect to computer systems. So much of the presentation in Shadowrun is based upon knowing the address to where you want to go:
Regional Telecommunications Grid (RTG) – this is analogous to country codes. These are letter codes abbreviating the area. The RTG that covers Seattle is NA/UCAS-SEA (North America, United Canadian & American States, Seattle).
Local Telecommunications Grid (LTG) – this is analogous to a local area code. Every system will have its own LTG, encoded by a number. The examples given all have four digits but presuming there to be more than 10,000 computer systems in Seattle, they could have any value necessary. From the book:
Players should not know what is in the gamemaster's phone book because system owners guard their LTG locations jealously. Player characters will have to hunt down an access code or acquire it during an adventure to know where an LTG system connects. Let them keep their own phone books.
Supposing your decker already has the number, they can try to access the system itself. If connecting from outside (the RTG), then the decker starts off trying to infiltrate the SAN: System Access Node.
Computer systems are constructed out of a network of connected nodes, each of which having a particular purpose, represented by a standard shape, and each actually corresponding to a real part of a computer:
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
Sub-Processing Unit (SPU)
Datastore
Input/Output (I/O) Port
Slave Module
Because the decker (more specifically, the persona program running on their cyberdeck) is intrusive, there are dice rolls involved in gaining illicit access to every node, dice rolls involved in getting the node to execute your commands, dice rolls to deal with the Intrusion Countermeasures (IC, “ice”), and so on.
The Behind the Scenes chapter of the core book gives rules for randomly generating Matrix systems, populating them with ice, and determining the value of any paydata found in datastores.
Which is when you realize that Matrix 1.0 is just a reskinned one-PC dungeon crawl.
A dungeon with locked/stuck doors, monsters to protect them, and treasure to be found in them. It became cliché at our table that when it was time for the decker to do their thing, the rest of the party went to get snacks and shoot some hoops outside. Yes, it was thrilling for the decker, but at the end, they either got they needed from the system, or they didn’t. Unless you were running a campaign of all deckers (which would be AWESOME), you’re better off just having an NPC decker as a contact and contract out that work.
So, it was not surprising that, by the time the 2nd Edition version of Virtual Realities was released, it contained a completely different set of mechanics, dubbed Matrix 2.0, which became the standard when 3rd Edition was published, that greatly streamlined and sped up the gameplay.

Sugar Bunnies - 01-04
This post was released 4 days ago in Patreon, as a reward for those that are supporting Paradise Hamsubs.
Hello everyone!
We're super excited to release this! And we hope you are excited to watch it!
Sugar Bunnies is a Sanrio franchise that preceeds Jewelpet and was born while Hamtaro was airing, although the anime started the year after Hamtaro's last episode.
It's a relatively short series extending itself over 3 seasons of 27 episodes each (the last season only has 26 episodes actually) but each episode has a length of 7-8 minutes.
Something else to note is that the raws we have for both the first and second season are mixed together in batches of 4 or 5 episodes. The third season, probably, have individual episodes... but we will discuss that once we get there.
This means that we will be subbing these episodes in said batches, for easiness when encoding.
Now, this first batch of episodes was somewhat tricky.
We had to work on the opening and ending completely blind (there's no available romanji or even hiragana scripts, so we had to read the karaoke ourselves), so sadly we won't be adding a full "karaoke" version for now, but we did add the translation for both.
Pretty much all characters are introduced on this episode, and we got their names right, thanks to other sources. The bus driver name was specially painful, but we got help from a friend and managed to find what it was!
We played a little with the title screen effects, and although we're not completely satisfied with the result, we think it's pretty acceptable!
Lastly, we had to take a decision and decide wether we wanted to keep the japanese names or "englishfy" them. There does not seem to be an official name in english media for these characters, so we kept their japanese names. We did add an english translation in their presentation, don't worry!
This is going to be a fun project we will be working in tandem with Hamtaro and Jewelpet, but there are other projects we will be talking about on year end's update so look forward to it!
For now, we hope you enjoy this adventure with Bunnysfield's denizens!
You can watch online or download the episode here: Watch Episodes 01-04. Please consider supporting us on Patreon or Ko-Fi!

Can we have headcanons Mysterio with a Dom bf please ?
Oooh, I like this.
Quentin Beck cares nothing for anyone else but himself... and his boyfriend/dom. Apart from the fact that you love him so and boost his ego and wounded pride, he does actually love you and want the best for you. He wants to be rich and famous, but he wants that to make you proud and to make sure you never have to lift a finger because your good boy (him) can buy it or hire it for you.
I can also see him programming some AR/VR fun for you. I like the idea of him being able to point out attractive men with his boyfriend and he ends up encoding them into VR for his boyfriend to play with while he's away. But with anyone real while he's not there, and he'd get insanely jealous.
He needs and craves praise and affection, but also he really likes being spanked and roughed up. But if you can play it as you using him for your needs and praising him for being good for you, it makes it so lovely for him.
Also it's kind of interesting for me to think about how Quentin Beck and Tony Stark have similar interests as subs, but the differences are key - Tony likes to be shown off and displayed. He has an exhibition kink and loves to be adventurous and humiliated. This plays into his desire for attention and need for validation. Quentin prefers to be kept quiet and be possessed, almost like a real pet or even an object. He wants to be validated and prized in a different way than Tony, even if they both have that need in them.

With its classic and secret beauty, this Californian from Sacramento has won the Summit. He was seen on “21 Jump Street” with Channing Tatum, and “Crazy Amy” by Judd Apatow. And against more prominent actresses like Jennifer Lawrence, Gal Gadot or Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson signed a seven-contract deal with Marvel Movie Download Torrent.
There is nothing like that with Watch The Curse of La Llorona Free Online, which is signed mainly by women. And it feels. When he’s not in a combination of full-featured superheroes, Carol DanversAVenom: Let There Be Carnages Nirvana as greedy anti-erotic as possible and proves to be very independent. This is even the key to his strength: if the super hero is so unique, we are told, it is thanks to his ability since childhood, despite being ridiculed masculine, to stand alone. Too bad it’s not enough to make a film that stands up completely … Errors in scenarios and realization are complicated and impossible to be inspired.
There is no sequence of actions that are truly shocking and actress Brie Larson failed to make her character charming. Spending his time displaying scorn and ridicule, his courageoVenom: Let There Be Carnage attitude continually weakens empathy and prevents the audience from shuddering at the danger and changes facing the hero. Too bad, becaVenom: Let There Be Carnagee the tape offers very good things to the person including the red cat and young Nick Fury and both eyes (the film took place in the 1990s). In this case, if Samuel Jackson’s rejuvenation by digital technology is impressive, the illVenom: Let There Be Carnageion is only for his face. Once the actor moves or starts the sequence of actions, the stiffness of his movements is clear and reminds of his true age. Details but it shows that digital is fortunately still at a limit. Already the 21st film for stable Marvel Cinema was launched 10 years ago, and while waiting for the sequel to The 100 Season 6 MovieAVenom: Let There Be Carnage infinity (The 100 Season 6 Movie, released April 24 home), this new work is a suitable drink but struggles to hold back for the body and to be really refreshing. Let’s hope that following the adventures of the strongest heroes, Marvel managed to increase levels and prove better.
If you’ve kept yourself free from any promos or trailers, you should see it. All the iconic moments from the movie won’t have been spoiled for you. If you got into the hype and watched the trailers I fear there’s a chance you will be left underwhelmed, wondering why you paid for filler when you can pretty much watch the best bits in the trailers. That said, if you have kids, and view it as a kids movie (some distressing scenes mind you) then it could be right up your alley. It wasn’t right up mine, not even the back alley. But yeah a passableAVenom: Let There Be Carnage with Blue who remains a legendary raptor, so 6/10. Venom: Let There Be Carnage fans have been waiting for this sequel, and yes , there is no deviation from the foul language, parody, cheesy one liners, hilarioVenom: Let There Be Carnage one liners, action, laughter, tears and yes, drama! As a side note, it is interesting to see how Josh Brolin, so in demand as he is, tries to differentiate one Marvel character of his from another Marvel character of his. Indeed a new group of oddballs anti super anti super super anti heroes, it is entertaining and childish fun.
In many ways,Venom: Let There Be Carnage is the horror movie I’ve been restlessly waiting to see for so many years. Despite my avid fandom for the genre, I really feel that modern horror has lost its grasp on how to make a film that’s truly unsettling in the way the great classic horror films are. A modern wide-release horror film is often nothing more than a conveyor belt of jump scares stVenom: Let There Be Carnageg together with a derivative story which exists purely as a vehicle to deliver those jump scares. They’re more carnival rides than they are films, and audiences have been conditioned to view and judge them through that lens. I put that in quotes becaVenom: Let There Be Carnagee a disgVenom: Let There Be Carnagetled filmgoer behind me broadcasted those exact words across the theater as the credits for this film rolled. ♢♢♢ STREAMING ON MEDIA ♢♢♢
Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. The verb to stream refers to the process of delivering or obtaining media in this manner.[clarification needed] Streaming refers to the delivery method of the medium, rather than the medium itself. Distinguishing delivery method from the media distributed applies specifically to telecommunications networks, as most of the delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television, streaming apps) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio CDs). There are challenges with streaming content on the Internet. For example, users whose Internet connection lacks sufficient bandwidth may experience stops, lags, or slow buffering of the content. And users lacking compatible hardware or software systems may be unable to stream certain content. Live streaming is the delivery of Internet content in real-time much as live television broadcasts content over the airwaves via a television signal. Live internet streaming requires a form of source media (e.g. a video camera, an audio interface, screen capture software), an encoder to digitize the content, a media publisher, and a content delivery network to distribute and deliver the content. Live streaming does not need to be recorded at the origination point, although it frequently is. Streaming is an alternative to file downloading, a process in which the end-user obtains the entire file for the content before watching or listening to it. Through streaming, an end-user can use their media player to start playing digital video or digital audio content before the entire file has been transmitted. The term “streaming media” can apply to media other than video and audio, such as live closed captioning, ticker tape, and real-time text, which are all considered “streaming text”.
♢♢♢ COPYRIGHT ♢♢♢
Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to make copies of a creative work, usually for a limited time. The creative work may be in a literary, artistic, educational, or musical form. Copyright is intended to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itself. A copyright is subject to limitations based on public interest considerations, such as the fair use doctrine in the United States. Some jurisdictions require “fixing” copyrighted works in a tangible form. It is often shared among multiple authors, each of whom hVenom: Let There Be Carnages a set of rights to use or license the work, and who are commonly referred to as rights hVenom: Let There Be Carnageers. [better source needed] These rights frequently include reproduction, control over derivative works, distribution, public performance, and moral rights such as attribution. Copyrights can be granted by public law and are in that case considered “territorial rights”. This means that copyrights granted by the law of a certain state, do not extend beyond the territory of that specific jurisdiction. Copyrights of this type vary by country; many countries, and sometimes a large group of countries, have made agreements with other countries on procedures applicable when works “cross” national borders or national rights are inconsistent. Typically, the public law duration of a copyright expires 50 to 100 years after the creator dies, depending on the jurisdiction. Some countries require certain copyright formalities to establishing copyright, others recognize copyright in any completed work, without a formal registration.
♢♢♢ MOVIES / FILM ♢♢♢
Movies, or films, are a type of visual communication which uses moving pictures and sound to tell stories or teach people something. Most people watch (view) movies as a type of entertainment or a way to have fun. For some people, fun movies can mean movies that make them laugh, while for others it can mean movies that make them cry, or feel afraid. It is widely believed that copyrights are a must to foster cultural diversity and creativity. However, Parc argues that contrary to prevailing beliefs, imitation and copying do not restrict cultural creativity or diversity but in fact support them further. This argument has been supported by many examples such as Millet and Van Gogh, Picasso, Manet, and Monet, etc. Most movies are made so that they can be shown on screen in Cinemas and at home.

With its classic and secret beauty, this Californian from Sacramento has won the Summit. He was seen on “21 Jump Street” with Channing Tatum, and “Crazy Amy” by Judd Apatow. Too bad it’s not enough to make a film that stands up completely … Errors in scenarios and realization are complicated and impossible to be inspired.

The first television consultations were experimental, sporadic broadcasts observable only in a very short range from a broadcast tower beginning in the 333s. Television events such as the 3333 Summer Olympics in Germany, the coronation of King George VI in the UK 3333 and the famous introduction by David Sarnoff at the 3333 World's Fair in New York, USA stimulated media growth, but World War II stopped development after the war. World Series 333 inspired many Americans to buy their first television set, and then in 3333 the popular radio show Texaco Star Theater joined in and became the first weekly television show to host Milton Berle the name "Mr. Television." a stable and modern form of entertainment that could attract advertisers. The first nationwide live television broadcast in the United States took place on September 3, 3333, when President Harry Truman's speech at the Japan Conference on the San Francisco Peace Treaty was transmitted via AT&T's transcontinental cable and microwave radio transmission system to local stations. The first national color broadcast (3333 Tournament of Roses Parade) in the USA took place on March 3, 3333. Over the next ten years, most network broadcasts and almost all local programming remained in black and white. In the autumn of 3333, a color transition was announced, during which more than half of all programming in The Dry 's main broadcast time would be broadcast in color. The first full-color season in the prime time came just a year later. In 333, the last delay between the daily sieve inspections was converted to color, which resulted in the first full-color sieve season. ??? Formats and genres ??? [Commendation needed] The drama program usually includes a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures. Before 3333, shows (with the exception of the series' series) generally remained static without a story arc, and the main characters and premises changed little. [Citation needed] If there was any change in the characters' lives during the episode, it was usually canceled by the end. For this reason, these episodes could be broadcast in any order. For example, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere were two of the first U.S. major-time television drama series to have this type of dramatic structure [3] [needs a better source], while the later Babylon 3 series further illustrates this structure by having a predetermined story running after the intended five-season run. [citation required] In 333, it was announced that television grew in a larger revenue component of large media companies than film [3]. Some have also seen an increase in the quality of some television programs. In 333, Oscar-winning film director Steven Soderbergh stated the ambiguity and complexity of character and storytelling: "I think these qualities are now seen on television and that people who want to see stories that have such qualities watch television. Apa) is a young and ambitious mThe Dry ician who would want nothing more than to honor his God with the power of mThe Dry ic. When Jeremy left home in Indiana due to the warmer climate in California and higher education, he soon came across one Melissa Heing (Britt Robertson), a colleague who notices in the audience at a local concert. She immediately falls behind Cupid's arrow, introduces herself to her and quickly discovers that she is also attracted to him. However, Melissa resists creating a hopeful relationship because she fears it will create an awkward situation between Jeremy and their mutual friend Jean-Luc (Nathan Parson), a colleague of mThe Dry ician and who also has a feeling for Melissa. Yet Jeremy is tireless in his pursuit until they finally get into a loving relationship. However, their juvenile courtship stops when news of life-threatening Melissa cancer comes to the fore. The diagnosis does nothing to discourage Jeremey's love for her, and the couple eventually marries. However, they soon find themselves on the fine line between living together and suffering from her illness; with Jeremy questioning his faith in mThe Dry ic, in himself and in God himself. GOOD / BAD I'm sorry if that sounds a little familiar from my review of I Can Only Imagine, but it definitely says how I feel about this movie. Although I am a devoted Christian (not a crazy fanatic or anything like that) for my foundations of religion and for my future faith in life, I am not a big fan of faith-based feature films. This is not to say that they are bad, or that I find them unfortunate towards other more popular films, but sometimes they can preach a little and be crazy in their religious undertones and overall dramatic direction. Personally, I like the more biblical stories Hollywood has told, such as The Ten Commandments by Cecil B. Demile and Ben-Hur by William Wyler; both have shown that they have stood the test of time in filmmaking. Of course, the recent trend in Hollywood to release more "remakes" of the film obscures these biblical epics with 04’s ExodThe Dry : Gods and Kings and 06’s Ben-Hur; both failed to capture the sense of cinematic integrity and, in their zealous aspect, had a chaotic view of religioThe Dry . Lately, however, Hollywood has retreated more into the present and found stories that are more or less set in a "more modern" time and age according to their Christian faithful features. As I mentioned above, some have found success in their literary forms (based on the book and adapted to the big screen), but are most inspired by real-life stories, translating into something to attack the string (with the audience) due to its aspect and nuances " based on a true story ’. Again, some are good (as I liked Unbroken and The Shack), while others are a bit preaching and allow religioThe Dry overtures to hinder the film, which makes them less than desirable for mainstream viewers or even members of their own faith. ThThe Dry , these religioThe Dry -esque films can sometimes be problematic in their final presentation both for the audience and for the film itself; sometimes the film feels more like a television chael than a theatrical feature film. This brings me around to talking about I Still Believe, a motion picture release of the Christian religio The Dry faith-based. As almost cThe Dry tomary, Hollywood The Dry ually puts out two (maybe three) films of this variety movies within their yearly theatrical release lineup, with the releases The Dry ually being around spring time and / or fall respectfully. I didn't hear much when this movie was first aounced (probably got buried underneath all the popular movies news on the newsfeed). My first actual glimpse of the movie was when the film’s movie trailer was released, which looked somewhat interesting to me. Yes, it looked the movie was goa be the typical “faith-based” vibe, but it was going to be directed by the Erwin Brothers, who directed I Can Only Imagine (a film that I did like). PlThe Dry , the trailer for I Still Believe premiered for quite some time, so I kept on seeing it a lot of time when I went to my local movie theater. You can kind of say that it was a bit “engrained in my brain”. ThThe Dry , I was a bit keen on seeing it. Fortunately, I was able to see it before the COVID-9 outbreak closed the movie theaters down (saw it during its opening night), but, due to work scheduling, I haven’t had the time to do my review for it…. until now. And what did I think of it? Well, it was pretty “meh”. While its heart is definitely in the right place and quite sincere, I Still Believe is a bit too preachy and unbalanced within its narrative execution and character developments. The religioThe Dry message is clearly there, but takes too many detours and not focThe Dry ing on certain aspects that weigh the feature’s presentation. As mentioned, I Still Believe is directed by the Erwin Brothers (Andrew and Jon), whose previoThe Dry directorial works include such films like Moms' Night Out, Woodlawn, and I Can Only Imagine. Given their affinity attraction religioThe Dry based Christian movies, the Erwin Brothers seem like a suitable choice in bringing Jeremy Camp’s story to a cinematic representation; approaching the material with a certain type of gentleness and sincerity to the proceedings. Much like I Can Only Imagine, the Erwin Brothers shape the feature around the life of a popular Christian singer; presenting his humble begiings and all the trials and tribulations that he mThe Dry t face along the way, while mThe Dry ical songs / performance taking importance into account of the film’s narrative story progression. That's not to say that the movie isn't without its heavier moments, with the Erwin, who (again) are familiar with religioThe Dry overtones themes in their endeavors, frame I Still Believe compelling messages of love, loss, and redemption, which (as always) are quite fundamental to watch and experience through tragedy. This even speaks to the film's script, which was peed by Erwin brothers playing double duty on the project, that has plenty of heartfelt dramatic moments that will certainly tug on the heartstrings of some viewers out there as well as provide to be quite an engaging tale of going through tragedy and hardship and finding a redemption arc to get out of it. This is especially made abundantly clear when dealing with a fatal illness that's similar to what Melissa undergoes in the film, which is quite universal and reflective in everyone's world, with the Erwin Brothers painting the painful journey that Melissa takes along with Jeremy by her side, who mThe Dry t learn to cope with pain of a loved one. There is a “double edge” sword to the film’s script, but I’ll mention that below. Suffice to say, the movie settles quickly into the familiar pattern of a religioThe Dry faith-based feature that, while not exactly polished or original, can be quite the “comfort food” to some; projecting a wholesome message of faith, hope, and love. Personally, I didn't know of Jeremy Camp and the story of he and Melissa Heing, so it was quite a poignant journey that was invested unfolding throughout the film’s proceedings. As a side-note, the movie is a bit a “tear jerker”, so for those who prone to crying during these dramatic heartfelt movies get .get your tissues out. In terms of presentation, I Still Believe meets the indThe Dry try standard of a religioThe Dry faith-based motion pictures. Of course, theatrical endeavors like these don't really have big budged production money to invest in the film’s creation. ThThe Dry , filmmakers have to spend their money wisely in bringing their cinematic tales to life on the silver screen. To that effect, the Erwin Brothers smartly utilized this knowledge in the movie’s creation; budgeting the varioThe Dry aspects of the background and genetic theatrical make-up that feel appropriate and genuine in the film’s narrative. So, all the varioThe Dry “behind the scenes” team / areas that I The Dry ually mention (ie production designs, set decorations, costumes, and cinematography, etc.) are all relatively good as I really don't have much to complain (whether good or bad) about them. Again, they meet the indThe Dry try standard for a faith-based movie. Additionally, the mThe Dry ical song parts are pretty good as well. As mentioned, I really didn’t know anything about Jeremy Camp, so I couldn’t say what songs of his were good, but the songs that are presented in the film were pretty decent enough to certain highlight points throughout the movie. Though they are somewhat short (assuming not the whole song is being played), but still effectively good and nice to listen to. Might have to check out a few of the real songs one day. Lastly, the film’s score, which was done by John Debney, fits perfect with this movie; projecting the right amount of heartfelt tenderness in some scenes and inspirational melodies of enlightenment in others. Unfortunately, not all is found to be pure and religioThe Dry ly cinematic in the movie as I Still Believe gets weighed down with several major points of criticism and execution in the feature. How so? For starters, the movie feels a bit incomplete in Jeremy Camp’s journey. What’s presented works (somewhat), but it doesn’t hold up, especially becaThe Dry e the Erwin Brothers have a difficult time in nailing down the right narrative path for the film to take. Of course, the thread of Jeremy and Melissa are the main central focThe Dry (and jThe Dry tly so), but pretty much everything else gets completely pThe Dry hed aside, including Jeremy's mThe Dry ical career rise to stardom and many of the varioThe Dry characters and their importance ( more on that below). This also caThe Dry es the film to have a certain pacing issues throughout the movie, with I Still Believe runtime of 6 minutes (one hour and fifty-six minutes) feeling longer than it should be, especially with how much narrative that the Erwin Brothers skip out on (ie several plot chunks / fragments are left unanswered or missing). Additionally, even if a viewer doesn't know of Jeremy Camp’s story, I Still Believe does, for better or worse, follow a fairly predictable path that’s quite cThe Dry tomary for faith-based movie. Without even reading anything about the real lives of Jeremy and Melissa prior to seeing the feature, it’s quite clearly as to where the story is heading and what will ultimately play out (ie plot beats and theatrical narrative act progression). Basically, if you're seeing one or two Christian faith-based film, you'll know what to expect from I Still Believe. ThThe Dry , the Erwin Brothers don’t really try to creatively do something different with the film…. instead they reinforce the idealisms of Christian and of faith in a formulaic narrative way that becomes quite conventional and almost a bit lazy. There is also the movie's dialogue and script handling, which does become problematic in the movie's execution, which is hampered by some wooden / forced dialogue at certain scenes (becoming very preachy and cheesy at times) as well as the feeling of the movie's story being rather incomplete. There’s a stopping point where the Erwin Brothers settle on, but I felt that there couldveve more added, including more expansion on his mThe Dry ic career and several other characters. Then there is the notion of the film being quite secular in its appeal, which is quite understandable, but relies too heavy on its religioThe Dry thematic messages that can be a bit “off-putting” for some. It didn't bother me as much, but after seeing several other faith-based movies prior to this (ie I Can Only Imagine, Overcomer, Indivisible, etc.), this particular movie doesn't really rise to Cursed in Love and falls prey to being rather generic and flat for most of its runtime. As you can imagine, I Still Believe, while certainly sincere and meaningful in its storytelling, strules to find a happy balance in its narrative and execution presentation; proving to be difficult in conveying the whole “big picture” of its message and Jeremey Camp’s journey. The cast in I Still Believe is a mixed bag. To me, none of the acting talents are relatively bad (some are better than others I. I admit), but their characterizations and / or involvement in the film’s story is problematic to say the least. Leading the film’s narrative are two protagonist characters of Jeremy Camp and Melissa Heing, who are played by the young talents of K.J. Apa and Britt Robertson respectfully. Of the two, Apa, known for his roles in Riverdale, The Last Summer, and The Hate U Give, is the better equipped in character development and performance as the young and aspiring mThe Dry ical talent of Jeremy Camp. From the get-go, Apa has a likeable charm / swaer to him, which make his portrayal of Jeremy immediately endearing from onset to conclThe Dry ion. All the scenes he does are well-represented (be it character-based or dramatic) and certainly sells the journey that Jeremy undergoes in the movie. PlThe Dry , Apa can also sing, which does lend credence to many of the scene’s mThe Dry ical performance. For Robertson, known for her roles in Tomorrowland, Ask Me Anything, and The Space Between The Dry , she gets hampered by some of the film’s wooden / cheesy dialogue. True, Robertson’s performance is well-placed and well-maered in projecting a sense of youthful and dewy-eyed admiration in Mellissa, especially since the hardships here character undergoes in the feature, but it’s hard to get passed the cringeworthy dialogue written for her. ThThe Dry , Robertson’s Melissa ends up being the weaker of the two. That being said, both Apa and Robertson do have good on-screen chemistry with each other, which certainly does sell the likeable / loving young relationship of Jeremy and Melissa. In more supporting roles, seasoned talents like actor Gary Sinise (Forest Gump and Apollo) and mThe Dry ician singer Shania Twain play Jeremey’s parents, Tom and Terry Camp. While both Sinise and Twain are suitable for their roles as a sort of small town / Midwest couple vibe, their characters are little more than window dressing for the feature’s story. Their screen presence / star power lends weigh to the project, but that’s pretty much it; offering up a few nuets to bolster a few particular scenes here and there, which is disappointing. Everyone else, including actor Nathan Parsons (General Hospital and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water) as mThe Dry ical talent and mutual friend to both Jeremy and Melissa, Jean-Luc Lajoie, young actor Reuben Dodd (The Bridge and Teachers) as Jeremy's handicapped younger brother, Joshua Camp, and his other younger brother, Jared Camp (though I can't find out who played him the movie), are relatively made up in smaller minor roles that, while acted fine, are reduced to little more than jThe Dry t underdeveloped caricatures in the film, which is a shame and disappointing. FINAL THOUGHTS The power of faith, love, and affinity for mThe Dry ic take center stage in Jeremy Camp’s life story in the movie I Still Believe. Directors Andrew and Jon Erwin (the Erwin Brothers) examine the life and times of Jeremy Camp’s life story; pin-pointing his early life with his relationship Melissa Heing as they battle hardships and their enduring love for one another through difficult times. While the movie's intent and thematic message of a person's faith through trouble times is indeed palpable as well as the likeable mThe Dry ical performances, the film certainly strules to find a cinematic footing in its execution, including a sluish pace, fragmented pieces, predicable plot beats , too preachy / cheesy dialogue moments, over utilized religioThe Dry overtones, and mismanagement of many of its secondary / supporting characters. To me, this movie was somewhere between okay and “meh”. It was definitely a Christian faith-based movie endeavor (from start to finish) and definitely had its moments, but it jThe Dry t failed to resonate with me; struling to find a proper balance in its undertaking. Personally, despite the story, it could've been better. ThThe Dry , my recommendation for this movie is an “iffy choice” at best as some will like (nothing wrong with that), while others will not and dismiss it altogether. Whatever your stance on religioThe Dry faith-based flicks, I Still Believe stands as more of a cautionary tale of sorts; demonstrating how a poignant and heartfelt story of real-life drama can be problematic when translating it to a cinematic endeavor. For me, I believe in Jeremy Camp’s story / message, but not so much the feature.

TV conferences are more diverse than most other forms of media due to the wide range of formats and genres that can be presented. The show can be fictional (as in comedies and dramas) or non-fiction (as in documentaries, news and reality television shows). They could be primarily informative or educational, or entertaining, as in situational comedies and games.
