A chronosian term where your perceived age is linked to being queer!

Queerchro(nal) is an identity label where your chronosian identity is inherently queer - be it that your perceived age is so vague that you can only define it as queer, that your queer identity influences your perceived age, or that being queer orientation-wise influences your perceived age!

So! This term is one I've wanted to create for a second now, just haven't gotten around to it honestly- but it's one I'm quite proud of!

No color meanings this time, colors pulled from the main queer flag however, and chronosian symbol by @chronosian-info!

We added more questions to the FAQ.

We've changed the name of the project from Alterhuman Sublabel Hub to Alterhuman Hub! Because I want it to be a hub for everything, as well as our blog being a hub for everything that can help you out on your identity and stay on the community but majorly focused on label finding and archiving!

I am thinking of opening up for help with research through a community discord, but what do you guys think?

The Alterhuman Hub is a work in progress dictionary of terms & labels, masterlist and archive of resources, guides, important discussions, resources, essays, panels, etc. of anything Alterhuman!

This project began due to my passionate desire to make sure there's an easy to navigate, quick and accessible place where people can go and find everything they'll need to have a smooth quick start their stay in the Alterhuman community by informing themselves of our history, the important discussions we've had; be able to have resources on 'kin discovery, 'kin euphoria, 'kin dysphoria, knowing how to proceed their lives as Alterhuman, etc.

It's to have a clear cut place where to organize and keep track of the progress, storage labels, terms and sources, have discussions and chat about the site and the best ways for it to continue it's progress up to the eventual release of it!

Both people who wanna help and people who just wanna spectate can join the server! Spectators can help with votes, give feedback and chat in their respective channels if they wish to. While providers help with the building of the site, sleuthing for labels, terms, coining posts, sources and helping with archiving.

Okay, let's see that post you're talking about here and ignore your attempt at an insult that proves you know nothing about us and what our offline life is like.

The post talks about highly stigmatised mental illnesses such as personality disorders and psychotic disorders. People "just" get "second hand embarrassment" from them? Please explain to the people who have had their friends shy away from them the moment they mention they're mentally ill in any capacity. Please explain that to people who end up forcefully institutionalised. Please explain that to the people who couldn't fathom even being friends with someone with such a stigmatised, scary disorder.

The post talks about trans and queer identities. Do you really think people just get second hand embarrassment from that? Is the fearmongering of "protect our kids" all second hand embarrassment? Is the "trans women want access to spaces they make others unsafe in" just.... a reaction to internally cringing?

The post talks about nonhumanity and alterhumanity at large, which even if it's seen as "cringe" or "embarrassing", alterhumans are lumped in with psychotics and commonly treated similarly.

People are scared of the mentally ill, people are scared of those who are queer, people are scared of alterhumans--that's the reason for a good chunk of the hate. In fact, it would be so much safer for us to be us if they were just embarrassed for us and nothing else. If people weren't scared of anything remotely different, maybe people would even cringe less, because we would be normalised and allowed to be more open.

I'm responding to this because you're almost an example of my point. You may truthfully not be "scared" (though if you weren't scared of something, even if it's just a block, why exactly are you on anon?), but if society were better, people wouldn't feel the need to send anons like this to people trying simply to exist. You likely wouldn't even bat an eye. We simply want as much of a right to exist as possible, and if people are scared, that's solely a them problem. It might not be safe for everyone to be "scary" or "cringe" right now, but we should be allowed to. That's the point.

Thank you for being an example of what ideas we're aiming to dispel.

don't want to derail the last post i reblogged so i'm putting a couple thoughts here. as an aroace, personally, for me they're like two parts of the same whole, and treating them as such is for me a way of pushing back against any expectation that i should have a concrete set of aro vs ace experiences such that i can leave one or the other at the door. that's part of why i'm so drawn to the sunset flag.

but at the same time, i relate to that post in part because i DO prioritize my aromanticism and see it as the more principal part of my identity (hello, aro blog here). and that's in large part due to social factors, because it affects my day to day life more acutely and yet is the identity other people are most likely to ignore or pretend is secondary by default. i think it's always important to leave room for those sorts of messy contradictions, so that there is never one "true" universal manifestation of aroace identity. i've written before, i think, about how i'm never interested in iterating on new labels or sublabels to "fix" what is really an issue of gatekeeping, stereotyping, and assumption-making.

that aside, i do reject any implication that everyone or even the majority of people who claim an aroace identity as a unified and non-separate identity are by default focusing more on the asexuality side of things. plenty of outside voices push that assumption onto us because they find our asexuality more palatable or normie to talk about than our aromanticism, and many of us have been pushing back against that for a number of years now (again, hi, aro blog here).

it's like, for me, i'm aro and i'm aroace, but i'm never JUST ace, if that makes sense. yes, i am asexual, but that is not the primary way i would choose to express my identity if asked in most cases.

aroace identity is not a monolith!! let us all be weird and contradictory forever!

Being a Hunter of Artemis doesn't automatically make you aro/ace, both, or even just one. It also doesn't automatically make you queer.

Being a Hunter is just literally making a vow of chastity, and swear off romance. That's it. It's essentially like a religious order, such as the vows a priest in Catholicism would make. It's called abstinence.

The Hunters of Artemis can be queer. They can be aro/ace and everything in between and not.

But guess what. They can be gay. They can be pan. They can be bi and demi and gray and hetero and everything else.

I'm saying this because literally every Hunter I've ever come across in the RRverse are always headcanoned to be aroace. And only aroace.

And that's fine! I'm not saying to stop making headcanons!

But I am saying there's more to aros and aces than just aroace. And I would love to see more of that.

I am demiromantic asexual. I would call myself romance-neutral, and sex-repulsed. If given a spot in the Hunt, I may or may not accept, but I do know that if I did, I would be one of the ones who would leave- either for my own pursuits or because romance happened to come across my path.

Being in the Hunt would not make me aroace. I would remain arospec and ace, just as an aroallo would remain aroallo. Just like a heterosexual would remain heterosexual.

Sublabels are just as important as their umbrella ones, and need to be acknowledged more often.
