Sat down and got to finally properly render these fuckers while also settling on how I should draw them. I actually did a tiny bit of research on their respective species, took a few elements here and there but nothing to drastically change them.

So as far as I'm aware, Leif is not a specific moth but plenty of blue and red moths will usually have the eye patterns on their wings and as well as have fluff on their bodies. Had fun with the posing and if you can guess where I referenced it then you get a cookie. Thought it was neat that the original concept was that he was suppose to dance.

Vi is obviously a honey bee, they're very well known to be fuzzy. I don't have much to say besides from that but if anyone doesn't know, only females have stingers.

Now Kabbu was really testing my patience, according to the wiki it states that is he is a rainbow scarab beetle. If that is wrong then too bad, those guys are gorgeous and it took me too long to figure how to balance the colors without burning my eyes. Its faint but noticeable, just so I can still be true to the game model, also I know it's not as visible here but I realize beetle wings are very pretty.

So what's the conclusion here? There needs to be a website dedicated to bug references so I can sit there and admire them all day.

Here’s a vague size comparison thing for all of them. And a human for perspective

I really, desperately want to make an illustrated guide to my merfolk lore, because it’s extensive and I’m really proud of it. But that sounds slightly overwhelming, so idk, but here are some random scraps that pertain to these four. My fish mers aren’t allowed to have hair; they have a variety of different fins on their head to mimic it instead. Oviparous fish (e.g. remora) lay their eggs and their mer counterparts do likewise, and therefore don’t have nipples and/or breasts. Eggs of ovoviviparous fish (e.g. manta ray) hatch shortly before giving birth and do not consume anything resembling milk, so their mer counterparts do not have nipples and/or breasts. Viviparous fish (e.g. lemon shark) essentially nurse when in the womb, so their mer counterparts nurse after having given birth and have nipples and/or breasts. Mammals (e.g. monk seal) are self explanatory.

Also most animals hatch or are born with navels, because even in eggs, there’s a cord from the embryo to the yolk sack. Oviparous and ovoviviparous creatures just tend to be better at healing the scar. However, I’ve decided that mers are not as good at healing the scar, and thus, have bellybuttons.

I have a theory that every dnd player’s playing style matches one (or two) of the dndads players:

Matt and Anthony: in character to the point of the entire party suffering as a result, their character has a Thing that they will NOT let go, have amazing one-liners purely by accident 9 times out of 10, characters come across pretty chill at first and then proceed to be the bitchiest mfs alive

Will Campos: LORE LORE LORE, desperately want their character to have a deeply angsty scene at some point in the campaign, think about the character 24/7 365, character Must be anxious and have a severe issue with people pleasing

Beth May: character starts with a small funny concept and grows completely out of control, character’s angst seems performative until suddenly it’s not, amazing team player and improv-er, barely knows what a mechanic is, loves to have the character be just a little bit Off

Freddie Wong: the character not only has a Thing, the character IS the Thing. The character’s entire identity is the Thing. The character perpetually believes they’re the main character, loves scheming and strategizing, and spends a good amount of time letting story angst bounce off them like glue in favour of causing Insane amounts of chaos and destruction and violence
