my brother showed me a tv show called plebs since i studied ancient rome. i told him it was historically accurate and now he's jumping off walls excited. idk how to tell him i was joking and the ancient roman with the sex-related storylines is actually a sewing pirate bard from the early 1700s

Oh no. Honey.... Oh no. Spoilers. Anyway, do you want to talk about Plebs with me? I have literally no one to talk about the show with.
Yeah, Joel Fry was Great as Stylax Eurisyces. Is that how you spell that name IDK. But how far in are you, because I have terrible news about Stylax.
Plebs, Joel Fry, 2013. Joel Fry is the best part of this show and he is absolutely hilarious. I want to watch everything Joel Fry is in. This show is straight up funny - not a comedy/romance/drama. Just a clever laugh and occasional gross-out humor. Good fun.

The thing about Marcus from Plebs is that he’s just almost impossible to root for because he’s just terrible lmfao
#like I can’t imagine why anyone would ever want to be friends with him#I love Grumio and Stylax though ❤️❤️#plebs#Rebecca talks#I also didn’t realize until a couple days ago that this show was on any US streaming services

Only started watching Plebs for Joel Fry in a poor approximation of a Roman tunic, stayed because the show is actually pretty funny if you are willing to overlook glaring historical inaccuracies (we had practice with that in OFMD) likr the presence of tomatoes.
Plebs got 5 seasons, it's not THAT funny. It's kinda like if It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia was set in Ancient Rome instead of Philadelphia. Nothing groundbreaking.

Faker- Stylax x OC
Stylax x Helena
Description: Stylax’s legs are broken in a construction accident and Helena makes it her mission to make him feel better. Then, she discovers his secret.
Word Count: 2k
Helena had been doing the dishes when she heard a frantic knock on the front door. Just as she began to dry her hands, she heard Lotus’ voice.
I’ll get it Hela,” she called as she walked over. Helena thanked her absentmindedly and continued with her work. She couldn’t hear who was at the door, but an uneasy feeling settled in the pit of her stomach seemingly out of nowhere. It didn’t leave when she heard Marcus’ voice from behind her.
“Helena,” he called worriedly, effectively catching her attention. She turned to face him with a polite smile as she dried her hands. Marcus barely let her greet him before he was grabbing her wrist urgently.
“You need to come with me,” he instructed, beginning to drag her out. Helena struggled against his grip and stared at him anxiously.
“What? Why? Marcus, what is going on?” She questioned anxiously. Her entire world felt like it was crashing down around her when Marcus responded.
“Stylax got hurt, really bad,” he answered. “Now come on!” Helena was frozen in her place until she heard Lotus urge her to go. She snapped out of her daze and began running after her friend.
On the way there, Marcus explained what happened. He, Grumio and Stylax had been walking out so they could head to work when they heard someone yell out. Marcus and Grumio barely had time to react before they were pushed to the ground rather aggressively. When they looked back, they saw Stylax laying face down with a big slab of stone on his lower half. One of the workers, Jason, ran over and offered to take him to the nearby hospice with Grumio. Marcus opted to go get Helena, knowing that she would want to know about this and Stylax would want her nearby.
That led them to where they were now. Helena, Marcus, Grumio and Jason sat in the waiting room while Stylax was operated on. As they waited, the trio talked to Jason. He explained that his boss, Crassus, is an entrepreneur that wanted to build some new apartment buildings. Unfortunately, Crassus didn’t care about the health or safety of both the workers or civilians. This wasn’t the first time someone had gotten hurt or potentially died under Crassus’ watch. Helena became rather distressed when Jason mentioned death, and she had to hold back tears as the man continued to talk.
After he finished, Marcus and Grumio began discussing going about suing Crassus. Helena, however, paid no attention to them and instead stared out the nearby window. She had no idea what she would do if Stylax didn’t survive. She loved him too much to move on. Thankfully, she didn’t have to think about that possibility because the doctor walked out just a few minutes later. Instantly, the group of four stood and faced him.
“Well?” Helena asked worriedly. “Will he be okay?” The doctor shot her a soothing smile and nodded.
“He will,” he answered without hesitation. “But both of Stylax’s legs are broken. More than likely it’ll take a few months to heal. He’s lucky though, if he had waited a second longer I'm not sure he’d still be alive.” Helena just about cried in relief and happy tears slid down her face.
“Can we see him?” Marcus asked, wrapping an arm around Helena’s shoulders.
“Of course. Bear in mind that he still may be a bit drowsy from the sedatives we gave him for the pain though. He’s in the third room to the left, I’ll leave you to it.” He gave them one last nod then walked away. Helena giggled as Marcus pulled her into a tight hug.
“He’ll be okay,” he muttered reassuringly as she returned the hug. They stayed like that for a minute before pulling away.
“I’m sure he wants to see you first,” he added, gesturing to the hallway. “We’ll be out here.” Helena shot him a grateful smile then kissed his cheek before making her way to Stylax’s room. It didn’t take her long to find it, and she knocked three times on the door.
“Come in,” Stylax called softly. The girl took a deep breath, preparing for what she was about to see when she entered, then finally pushed the door open. It wasn’t as bad as she thought. Her boyfriend’s legs were covered but she could see the splints wrapped tightly around them. Other than that, he looked perfectly normal. A smile instantly appeared on Stylax’s face at the sight of his girlfriend.
“Helena,” he greeted, looking really happy given the circumstances. He sat up just a bit and rested his hands on either side of his lap.
“Hey,” she returned the greeting, making her way over to him. “How are you feeling?”
“Like I got hit by a giant slab,” he half joked, smiling when that earned a giggle from her. He could tell that her heart wasn’t in it though, and he reached for her hand.
“I was so worried about you,” Helena muttered after a minute. “My entire world stopped when Marcus told me what happened, I thought you died.” She refused to meet his gaze, but of course Stylax understood.
“But I didn’t, did I?” He questioned optimistically. “I’m still here and, forgive the humor, I’m still kicking.” That got a laugh out of her, and she shook her head.
“You’re an idiot,” she muttered flatly, though there was a small smile on her face as she said it. That let Stylax know that she wasn’t being serious.
“But I’m your idiot,” he shot back with a cheeky grin. “Now come here.” His arms opened up, which gave her permission to move closer to him. She made sure that she didn’t touch his legs as her head laid on his shoulder, and he pulled her closer to him. They stayed like that for a long time.
It had been nearly four months since Stylax had been injured. He’d been healing a lot faster than anyone expected. By month two, he was put on crutches, but it was still difficult for him to get around as he wasn’t used to being on his feet.
Helena had been a big help to everyone. Lotus had thankfully given her permission to be around him more when she had free time. She helped Grumio take care of him and get him things when he asked. Marcus called her an angel on earth for all her help. She had focused so much on his comfort and healing that she hadn’t even realized it had been at least more than a month that Stylax should have been healed fully. Well, at least until today.
Since Helena had started coming around so often, the guys told her it was okay to come in without knocking. Heck, they even gave her a key in case no one else was home. Helena walked into the guys’ flat carrying several bags, having just returned from the market. The first thing she noticed was how empty the apartment seemed. Marcus had told her that he and Grumio were heading to the grain factory to work, so they were out of the question. But where was Stylax? When she left he had been on the couch throwing a ball in the air and catching it. She nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard a noise in the kitchen. Setting the bags down as quietly as she could, she crept to the kitchen, hoping to the gods that she wouldn’t alert the person that she was there.
Her head peeked around the corner just a bit and realized that there was in fact a figure standing by the counter. It took her a moment to realize that the figure was in fact Stylax, standing without his crutches. Her mouth dropped open and she felt herself grow angrier the longer she stared at him. How long has he been able to walk around by himself? Her eyes narrowed and she stepped fully into view.
“Stylax,” she called firmly. At first Stylax just hummed absentmindedly, then he realized whose voice he heard and whipped around.
“Helena!” He called, a surprised and rather nervous looking smile appearing on his face. “This is a nice surprise.”
“It’s definitely a surprise,” she responded flatly, crossing her arms over her chest. Her ashes trailed down to his legs. They looked perfectly healthy, which made her even angrier.
“How long?” She questioned, trying not to portray how hurt she was about it. Stylax hesitated, thinking about how to answer. Ultimately he decided not to make things worse, so he told the truth.
“Almost two months,” he admitted, refusing to meet her gaze.
“So…you’ve been lying to me for almost two months?” She asked slowly.
“I wouldn’t call it lying,” Stylax started quickly. “It’s just...stretching the truth?” He finished slowly, even sounding unsure of himself.
“Right, well I call it lying because that’s what it is!” She exclaimed. “Does anyone else know about this?”
“No,” the man responded, looking down.
“So you’re lying to everyone? Even Marcus and Grumio? I can’t believe you!” She yelled, already beginning to storm out.
“Helena, wait!” He called, but she only ignored him. She didn’t stop until she was at the door and Stylax grabbed her wrist.
“Please,” he begged.
“Why should I?” She snapped as she yanked her hand away from his grasp.
“Because I have a good reason for doing it,” he shot back desperately. Helena hesitated, she didn’t feel like listening to him. But she was curious and (regrettably) an empath, so she finally nodded and crossed her arms.
“Go on,” she sighed out, leaning back against the door.
“I missed you,” he started without hesitation. “You’ve been really busy lately with Lotus for Flavia’s Saturnalia party planning. Of course I understand that you have a job to do and you like helping people, but that meant coming around less. And anytime I tried to see you, you always seemed too busy to spend time with me. Then my legs broke, and you were around almost all the time. I was so happy until the doctor said my legs were just about healed because that meant that things would just go back to the way they were. I just wanted an excuse to spend time with you for more than ten minutes a week.” Helena could only stare at him, surprised. Out of all the things she expected him to say, it definitely wasn’t that.
“You-I..” she trailed off speechlessly. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Because I knew you were going to feel bad and that’s not what I wanted,” he responded earnestly. “I was going to tell you soon, I just wanted a little more time with you.” That didn’t make Helena feel better, in fact she now felt guiltier.
“I’m sorry Helena,” he finally finished, looking down.
“No, I’m the one that needs to be sorry,” she responded. “I’d been so busy with everything I hadn’t even realized that I had been neglecting you.” Stylax only shook his head with a small smile.
“I’ll forgive you if you forgive me,” he suggested, which made her grin.
“Deal,” she responded before looking around. “You said that no one else knew about you being healed, right?” The man looked confused by her question, but shook her head.
“No, why?” Helena shot him a mischievous smile.
“I wouldn’t mind another break from planning to take care of my injured boyfriend,” she mentioned, trying to look nonchalant. Stylax copied her grin then held out his hand.
“Who am I to deny my doting girlfriend her request? Especially in my wounded state,” he played along, limping back to the couch. Helena giggled then followed, setting up the pillows on the coffee table for him to rest his legs on then taking a seat beside him once he sat down. His arm wrapped around her shortly before the door opened. They were quick to make his legs look like they were still hurting before the person entered.
“Why are there groceries in front of the door?” They heard Marcus exclaim, which made the couple look at each other then burst into laughter.

the show ‘plebs’ is just iasip if the writers were british and it was set in ancient rome
i mean they both have buffets at orgies and babies in dumpsters
#grumio stylax & marcus are basically just charlie mac & den#grumio is charlie bc theyre both asexual and gross/dirty#& honestly stylax & marcus could both be mac or dennis ive thought about it#theyre all horrible people#& no offence sunny is my fave show atm but grumio is the funniest character i've ever seen#like everything that dude says is too fucking funny i can't its the best#also stylax & marcus are lowkey gay for each other so theyre basically macdenis#kinda of but not rly#its probably just bc im british i love that show so much. i've been binging british comedy recently#but i s2g more ppl should watch it. it doesnt even have a fandom#also iasip have 'db' the baby but plebs have 'binny' bc we call dumpsters 'bins'#db vs binny. fight!#i watched plebs first so iasip wasn't that shocking with that stuff#i rlyy wanted them to keep binny the baby. but obviously i didn't want the gang to keep db#although the dudes in plebs wouldn't be good fathers either but they tried their best#im upset bc binny got adopted by a minor character but we never saw her again#i just like comparing shows i like thats all this is#personal#plebs#iasip

Oh no. I can't believe this happened. I reached series 4 of Plebs and they killed Stylax off and replaced him with some twat who looks like a ken doll.
I might actually cry. Stylax was my favourite. I'll give new guy a chance, though.
