my brother showed me a tv show called plebs since i studied ancient rome. i told him it was historically accurate and now he's jumping off walls excited. idk how to tell him i was joking and the ancient roman with the sex-related storylines is actually a sewing pirate bard from the early 1700s

Plageurise Plageurise Plageurise by u/Rescheduled1
Plageurise, Plageurise, Plageurise So I was watching the “Heartland” series reruns, which is a popular tv show filmed in Canada, based on the books of the same name, and being horsey people we love that show and have the series taped. Lo and behold, we were on Season 8 episode 17 titled “All I Need is You” and released in 2015. (3 years prior to Harry and Skank’s wedding) The most interesting part was that Ty and Amy (after going through much drama which nearly saw their wedding plans ruined) decide they can’t wait to be married one more minute and drive to the nearest town to elope just days before their actual wedding. The dialogue very much reminded me of what Meghan said about her and Harry not being able to wait and getting married in a private ceremony a few days before their actual wedding. It was very similar to Ty and Amy deciding spontaneously they couldn’t wait another minute, and that they want the ceremony for just themselves. The episode ends with them standing in front of a minister at a church in another town. This got me thinking that Heartland, being very popular, surely would have been the type of show that perhaps Meghan had seen, living in Canada at the time. Perhaps even this particular episode. She has been known to plageurise, and takes bits and pieces from films and books and makes them her own. I decided to go down the proverbial rabbit hole and drew from my memory other things that Meghan either did or said, which sounded like something I’ve seen in film. Take for instance that childish tongue sticking out on her very first Sunday service with the Royals (unforgettable poo emoji hat) - the same childlike sticking out of tongue is from Eddie Murphy’s “Coming to America” where at the end of the movie the bride sticks her tongue out at the plebs as she rides away in oppulance. Then there is Harry’s accounting of his fight with William in Spare, where William rips his necklace as the fall to the ground in a tussle. This is almost an exact replay of the brotherly fight scene from “La Bamba” where Richie Valen’s older brother scraps with him and rips off his necklace as they fall to the ground. It is my opinion that Meghan’s entire life is made up of many different movie scenes, all plageurised and changed just ever so slightly to make it sound like her own. Feel free to pile on with any other plageurised observances. post link: https://ift.tt/2lyk9uS author: Rescheduled1 submitted: October 26, 2024 at 07:33AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. Obsessed with how Cellbit’s position on, idk, the youtube-twitch-over-all-internet-and-popular-imaginary has changed through time.
He started as a teenager from the deep brazilian south with undiagnosed mental illness screaming at the his computer, playing portal and minecraft. Played Hunger Games minigames. Was a cannibal convict in Fuga Impossível. Then he got fangirls and fanclubs and fanfiction written by the fangirls because he was oh so pretty and oh so funny (couldnt even grow a beard back then) (langer era was insane he was just weird blonde kid with blue eyes) Then he got astronomously famous, foi expluso da bgs, got in a movie and ads on tv (not just recarrego trinta reais theres others. does anyone remember the gvt one?), was a national phenomenon at this point. Then this man had a mental breakdown in real time, got his anxiety meds and went: hey that wasnt me. that was anxiety. im so mentally ill. im getting better. i watched a bo burnham special. from this day on im changed man. please stop thinking of me as that child. then he came back as some half-joking-half-serious enigma-puzzle-storyteller, his twitch presence became bigger than his youtube one, made an arg with time travel that no one remembers, do not believe his lies, cicada 3301, full simulacra era cellbit. had another breakdown. lost his sense of identity again, watched another bo burnham special, glorified his past persona only to realise his stuff was kinda mid and did this all in real time on his youtube channel in a way so real i think about to this day when im unsured about my art. got serious For Real This Time. Rpg era, got legitimized by the rpg nerd bros for like 2 seconds, didnt want ‘fans’ just ‘rapazeada’, everyone fucking hated him for a year because he called someone ‘pleb with prime’ and in some mind boggling way got trolls to call him pretty on his twitch chat at 3 in the morning because they caught wind that ‘he did not like people commenting on his appearance’. Ordem got really big. Nerd rpg bros got mad at him again because bc now people care just about ordem not rpg in general. [REDACTED INFO: THAT ONE SHIT SHOW THAT TILL THIS DAY IM NOT SURE ANYONE KNOWS WHAT REALLY HAPPENED I TRUST NOBODY ABOUT THIS]. Qsmp, got back with pac and mike, bringing joy to all the graduated tazer-cell-craft children. got gay married on minecraft, got gay divorced in minecraft did LOTS of stuff in minecraft. (i was not there for qsmp believe it or not i have a life and cant watch 8 hour streams everyday). [REDACTED INFO: ANOTHER FUCKING SHIT SHOW] Became some sort of queer-icon-but-actually-hes-straight-oh-wait-hes-asexual-i-didnt-know-that-makes-a-lot-of-sense-remember-that-discord-screenshot-‘if-you-need-to-have-sex-for-something-then-it’s-not-worth-it’-yeah-i-do-funny-how-these-things-happen. Openly/jokingly flirts with men but has girlfriend hes very happy with. Went on what i can only call a world tour to see all his new buddies. Now people call him hot and babygirl and say they want to do unspeakable things to this man on tumblr.com. People are using cellbit profile pictures again. It has become a full circle. The snake eats its own tail. We can never escape samsara. Story repeats itself again and again and again. History is a circle.
What a career. Wtf just happened Rafael my guy.

so guys how are we feeling? i have a few things to say. my thoughts, in no particular order:
steven said very, very little. ryan and Shane were mostly speaking. but honestly with the hate he's been receiving? i don't blame him. nobody had any proof Steven made the decision on his own and yet the internet unanimously decided thats what happened.
saying you're close to shutting down the company when you've literally just hired new people you didn't need? i mean, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a lie, but it shows very, very poor management at the least.
they need to hire less creative people rn. hire someone to run finance. hire someone to run marketing. hire people who actually know what the fuck they're doing when it comes to making sure a business thrives if you're going to hire new people at all.
you want to be a business, you need to stop thinking like a youtube channel. this is why you can't just start a company with your friends if none of you have business experience in this day and age.
unfortunately when you run a business, you have to lay off people you don't need sometimes. better yet: train people you don't need to do the job you want to hire somebody else to do (my boss does this so you can't tell me it doesn't work). loyalty to your employees breeds loyalty to your company, but you can't just let people keep doing something you don't need them to do if you want to run a succesful business.
if you can't pay your staff, why can you drop 55k on your wedding?
if you can't pay your staff, why can you afford to travel abroad and eat literal gold?
if you can't pay your staff, why are you compromising on your integrity instead of literally any of the expensive things your company is doing?
i love how they didn't once adress that they could literally save money by dropping the shows nobody wants to see. if you have so many loyal fans and some of your shows aren't doing well, you can't just blame the youtube algorithm: that is people actively making a choice not to watch something.
they didn't say anything about the high quality production of shows, either. they would have been completely in their right to say "our goal was always to produce TV-quality content and while we know you guys don't need that from us, we don't want to compromise on that goal" (even though I disagree on them always needing that quality, i would have accepted such a statement) but i feel like not mentioning it at all makes the video feel more like damage control than them actually listening to their fans.
the changes they've now made should have been how they went about this from the start if they were dead set on a streaming service.
i'm curious to see how others respond to this. to me it genuinely does feel like damage control. i'm probably not going to watch them anymore. we'll see how i feel when new content does make it to the plebs who get to watch it for free /j.

Plant, welcome back! Your thoughtful analysis has been missed over the year.
The one question I keep coming back to is why H&M think them spilling their guts about their life, thus exposing aspects of celebrities and politicians' lives those people would not want exposed? Why would they think celebrities and politicians would want to hang out or work either of them when anything they say or do could end up in a book or 'documentary'?
Sort of like Soho House - tell me it's an escort service, without telling me its an escort service. If it wasn't for these 2, confirming in H's book about M in the beginning of their relationship, I would have been none the wiser about Soho House's true purpose.
Or the use of PR... I've learned so much about PR in the papers from your and other Tumblr account's analysis and commentary, I now question every article in the paper about the celebrity or politician. Celebrities use of PR in papers... seriously, why would they want us plebs to be aware of why they do these PR pushes?!
They didn’t my want us to know. But the advent of the internet resulted in a lot of young reports going out and setting up new news and gossip sites like Gawker, Perez Hilton, Laineygossip, Celebitchy, Enty, etc… and the way they drove traffic to their sites was by revealing celeb dirt, including the pr strategies used to hide it. That’s how you now have regular people discussing yatching and fake celeb romances.
Harry’s personal revelations are coming out because he has no other way of generating press. The bench flopped, Live to Lead flopped, 40x40 flopped, and so on. Cute personal/work stuff with no drama like the pictures of the kids or the NY tour barely make a ripple. They only trend when people get outraged like with Uvalde, The Cut, and the podcasts. The only content that gets solid traction for them is family drama like the will-they-or-won’t-they discussions during the big family events and the comparisons when they mimic the Cambridges with tours and award presentations.
When they first left the royal family, the expectation was that they would create their own brand like the Obamas and the Clintons. That did not happen. They are stuck being a subset of the royal brand. That’s why their current coverage is People, CBS, and Variety. Their pulling power during the their royal years (based on tv ratings for their specials and news coverage) was around 3.5 million watchers (coincidentally the audience of a Suits episode) in the US and around 4 million in the UK. You will be shocked to know that those numbers have not changed much. The Oprah interview was watched by around 17 million, but his current interviews are averaging around 3-4 m, which is about the size of the audience or The Crown. The 60 minutes interview reached 10m but that’s because they already have a big viewership. Those are solid numbers, but not breakout numbers, even though they will try to spin them as such.
And it takes huge hype and drama (plus penis revelations) to reach that level. Without the royal conflicts and revelations he’s nowhere near those numbers. That’s why he keeps the revelations going.

Here's the thing: I get why people are frustrated by the fandom response to Essek's appearance. I too am tired of C2 announcements/reveals/cameos overshadowing everything as a sheer popularity contest. I'm tired of "Well C1 is good but C2 is GREAT/sure we've only had a couple arcs of C1 animated but WHAT ABOUT THE MIGHTY NEEEEEIIIIIIN". I'm sure C3 fans have seen a lot of C3 criticism that just amounts to "This isn't like C2, which was perfect and inimitable and godlike in every way, which is why this sucks and is for plebs", and they're sick of it. Like, I GET it.
But that doesn't change the fact that C2 is in fact a good story and the Nein are good characters! The cast clearly loves it the same way they love C1 and 3, and they love Essek in particular.
I am by no means a "well the cast likes it so be happy and eat your broccoli" type—I have criticized choices they've made before and will continue to do so—but I think it's worth noting that a lot of people I've seen getting disproportionately mad about this have also used the cast's enjoyment of things they like as a shield against any criticism. This has been a problem in this fandom for a long time, but it bears repeating: things you like are "well the cast likes it and did it intentionally!" and things you don't like are "I can't believe this thing just sort of happened and now we all have to deal with it!".
For many of those who dislike Essek's presence, it's not being treated as an intentional choice Matt made that the cast was really excited about. Instead, the anger has, for all intents and purposes, manifested as if this was impressed upon the narrative by an unseen external force, the same way people get mad about writing decisions in a book or TV show. I can appreciate people at least being honest about what they don't like, but the sheer vitriol here is something I tend to associate with the treatment of executive producers or corporate suits, rather than original artists who are intimately involved with the storytelling...and the agency of those original artists in making this choice seems to be quietly ignored.
The cast of Critical Role have repeatedly said that they're like family to each other, and we know they talk with Matt about their characters' directions outside the game. If they thought things were moving too fast for their characters to talk to each other, or they didn't like all the past campaigns being brought in, I think they'd be comfortable enough to say something about it. You're free to dislike Essek, or to like him but dislike the fandom response to him—but I think it's important to acknowledge who, in the real world, made and enjoyed this choice first and foremost, and ask yourself whether or not that's something you can live with as part of the narrative or if maybe this just isn't for you.

Kőgazdag fiatalok 12: Columbo kutyája
Metta ma Schmuck Andorral randizik.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Feljön a gyerek téma is.
Ezután arról faggatja a lányt, milyen faszik jönnek be neki.
A lány meglepődik, amiért tömegközlekedik a férfi.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Mivel jól megy eddig a randi, Schmuck javasolja, hogy folytassák egy jobb helyen, ahol élőzene is szól. Az ország legjobb bandája játszik itt.
Tumblr media
Megy egy közös kép instára. Ez már gyakorlatilag egy kapcsolat.
Tumblr media
Ide fele is kettőt kellett kikerülnie. Mindenesetre elfogadja a döntését és tovább keresgél a fiúnak.
Tumblr media
Ezután külön válnak a fiatalok ruhákat próbálni.
Tumblr media
Több csillámot szeretne, hogy feltűnőbb legyen.
Tumblr media
Mindeközben Csabi a masszázsfotelben döglik.
Tumblr media
Gyászos a hangulat PSG Oglinál. Egy barátjához, Amirhez tart, akinek nemrég meghalt a kutyája, Army.
Tumblr media
Megemlékeznek a hűséges ebről.
Tumblr media
Mielőtt a fiú hazamegy, mondanak egy imát Armyért.
Másnap Olivér cipővásárlásba fojtja bánatát. Az ország legpacekabb cipőboltjában természetesen. Megcsodálják a világ legkényelmesebb papucsát.
Tumblr media
A következő részben felbukkan pár régi ismerős.

this is such a great episode!
for anyone who hasn't listened yet — it deals with some heavy things including food addiction and eating disorders, death, and more, so anyone who wants to check it out should be aware it's about richard's own history and his self-identified "failures", and it's not particularly light-hearted or funny even though it's endearing and inspiring in many ways
i really appreciate his honesty and how carefully he speaks. he has every right to be angry — with his father leaving, with his relationship to food and shame, with the ever-present confines of modern masculinity making life so lonely for men — but he never seems to be. he just cares about being the best, healthiest version of himself. and i appreciate that he doesn't talk at people, preach, act like he knows more or best; he just knows what he knows all while seeking to always be learning more. i really appreciate him!
Tumblr media
i've never heard of a podcast by tailors, how interesting! i listened to the episode with alex and it was really sweet! i'll post this in case anyone else wants to check it out :)
(of course 💜)
Tumblr media
same, i'd only really heard of it because i got a bunch of messages about it! (i was a little unplugged from scripted tv when the first series came out 😅)
TOTALLY AGREE about jon pointing! his comedic timing, his facial expressions, he is just too hilarious — even though...can i just say...why was that old ass man playing a uni student X_X
anyways — i knew him from plebs!! that's quite a famous itv2 series, so you should check it out and see if you like it! i love tom basden ugh and if you check my non-panel shows masterpost i have live at the moth club and he does standup in ep1!
Tumblr media
i am somewhat familiar with it as someone who likes to watch some of the nextup specials (alistair barrie was one i enjoyed recently!) and tries to keep abreast of the festival nominees & winners, but i don't have as much time as i'd like to really weed out my favourites only because there isn't enough time in the day and i'm already trying to watch 100 things a day 🥲
one thing i find funny is how i pay more attention to who would do well on tv opposed to who is just GOOD. like, i didn't get john kearns until stopped thinking about him in the context of dictionary corner and started acknowledging his written set as a very, very specific piece of work that really shouldn't be disassembled and consumed in morsels. but i do see my interest in — and potentially my preference for — panel shows reflected in some of the circuit guys i like, such as alasdair beckett-king, huge davies, larry david. i just know they would kill panel show world if they were pushed properly :')
i find that i like standup a lot more live than i do on screen — which i think a lot of comedians would understand!
as well, i find the discourse about how difficult it is to get started/off the ground now that edinburgh fringe is becoming less and less accessible extremely fascinating and try to listen to all of the podcasts/convos about that that i can. it's costing comedians upwards of 5k just to debut a modest set at edinburgh — which is madness. here is tom mayhew talking to bbc news about this just a couple of weeks ago...
anyways, is there someone you wanted to recommend? i would love to check out anything 😚
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
daniel sloss standup — added a couple of those to drive! god i looooooved him when i was in high school and still do! highly recommend him on roast battle uk if you need extra sloss content. i'll work on the others over the next couple of weeks
alma's not normal — added to drive!
here we go — i know exactly where this is so i can hook you up but imma need you to dm/ask me off anon for the deets!
hold the front page + the unofficial science of home alone — sorry anons i don't have these on me but they're very easy requests someone can hook you up with on r/tv_bunny, so post them there!
