Update on the copper boy, after finishing up all the metal details I got excited to see how the red would look

And it’s AMAZING! It’s obviously not perfect but the joy comes from seeing how much room for improvement there is. It’s not like her paintjob was conceptually terrible, she was just painted with less than stellar execution which means that if I adopt the gold underpainting for the rest of my skitarii (I will) then as I work my way through her siblings, it will look even better as time goes on. I can’t wait for them all to be done but truth be told I’m a little nervous about the rest of the army

(Edit) the copper boy is the basic infantryman on the right, she is being compared to her sister on the left with the transuranic arquebus who was painted with the previously standard silver techniques.

I figure that whenever a Mechanicus learns binharic cant, they just download a language pack and that's that.

But what if that isn't it?

Imagine someone who has just undergone the necessary surgery to speak in binharic, and they have to start attending the Basics of Binharic class. Their text book includes such notes as

"...and the 0 following an exclamation of intent has to hit a sharp C, unless one is speaking in the dialect from Stygies VIII, where it instead comes out as a flat C, but as that is not the pure binharic of the Omnissiah, there shall be no more mention of such in this database."

and someone has scribbled sound waves into the margins. One of them looks like a crude and frankly biologically inaccurate drawing of a reproductive organ. Next to it is a binharic slang word for said depiction that you're quite certain the text book does not mention. Obviously you memorise it. To further your knowledge, of course.
