My headphones died...

15 mins into my workout today and boom. Dead. I love having Bluetooth headphones at the gym and not being stuck to a cord but damn. Convinced myself to finish off 15 more mins to make it a solid 30 before leaving. It's amazing how painful the gym gets without good music to zone out to.

Sometimes They Just Play Dead

So I found a micro SD for my phone.  Paid too much, but I wasn’t coming home without one and I wasn’t much interested in tramping all over town looking for a better price.  Card is now installed in phone, waiting for me to put 8 zillion books and fuck-tons of video on it.

The best part may be that I learned something.  I had one of the sales-tech-whatever people check the phone as well as the other two cards I brought with me.  Phone is fine.  And astonishingly, so are the other two cards that I had thought were corrupted or dead.

This is what I learned: sometimes phones do this (fail to recognize a card and pretend it’s dead) after a software update, or for no particular reason.  Put the card in an adapter and check it on the comp.  All the files should still be there.  If they are, wait a day or two, then put the card back in the phone.  It should work.

I can do that now, since I’ll have a couple of spare cards at my disposal.

Can’t Wait

It’s 90+ degrees out there.  The sun is a blazing furnace.  The pavements could melt lead.  And I have to go into The City and tramp the streets shopping for a thing.  A micro SD card for my phone, to be exact, because the one that was in there decided last night at 2:00am would be high time to shit the bed.

I don’t know how long those things are supposed to last, and I do acknowledge that maybe I’m a little hard on them, but you’d think they could squeeze out a little more than 6 months.

Since this is The City, I am fully prepared to go to five or six stores before I find one (over priced and not the one I want) because they’re all out, having had a sale that ended the day before I got there.

Sure, I could just get one off Amazon and let it come to me, but lying in bed and watching stuff on my phone while I get sleepy is a pleasure I’m not willing to put off.  My own fault, but life sucks and what else is new.
