started learning python this week (first attempt at learning coding), trying to write (successfully failing), trying to survive (but not thriving).

also pictured here is a DIY booknook I assembled a couple of weeks back. took me nearly 12 hours but I was so obsessed with the project that I took only an hour's break to feed myself. wish I could channel this frenzied obsession into writing >.<

Saw a post yesterday about non-aesthetic studyblr accounts, and while I can’t find it now I’m starting to think this blog would fall under that category. A lot of my stationery has been with me for years, with the oldest being a spiral notebook I still use for math that I bought in middle school. With my inability to let go of old stationery comes a LOT of clutter, which doesn’t tend to produce pretty blog photos 😅.

Anyway, here are some photos from last night and today. I’ve been taking a break from studying by making DIY stickers for my empty water bottle and messing around with oil pastels.

Other things I’ve done so far include:

meal prep for tomorrow

experimenting with tea-making methods (tried cold brew today, saving sun tea for tomorrow when the temperature reaches 100º+)

swam 2 sets of 500 freestyle to get a workout in without getting heatstroke.

It sucks. Sucks really bad sometimes. You're 26 years and 10 months old, preparing for this postgraduate exam, and all of your greatest (or biggest, because they didn't feel great) losses and fumbles loom around you while you're already here struggling to get through this one chapter of Neurosciences. Now, what do you do? Try and get through your losses? Or power through this fucking slow, the most mind-numbing chapter that you really need to cover. E from Medicine rotation was so much better than you, doing researches aiming for the best speciality in the US, and networking, all while looking pretty and having a great friend group, and a promising love life. Or R from 6th grade, who got into med school two years later than you but is already on her way to residency in one of the best places. Where are you though? On your desk, no friends, no acquaintances, exam 30 days away and your momentum sucks. And not that great prospects in sight either. It sucks because how did we get here. How did we exactly? You wish you'd stepped out more because you were supposed to be better at 27. In a different place, more stable...just better. It sucks. You're lonely, broke and sad and it just sucks because you were THAT KID, and now you're THIS ADULT?? And it sucks because education is your only way out of this place, the reason you've been so held back in life, this god-damned place, how did you not remember? In all those moments of inhibitions and restrictions...ugh. You wish you'd rebelled wisely, and not given in. You wish you'd lived for yourself a little bit.

Today was a good day. I feel like it was in the true spirit of what ai said in one of my last post of having a chill hobbit summer, enjoy everyday things day to day. I started my day very slowly by drinking my tea and reading a bit, and then I went in my garden to water the plants and I just sat there a while looking at the bees around my lavender and it gave me a feeling of internal peace I really needed. I think I'll start doing that more often. I also worked on my garden, enjoyed the sun on my balcony before it turned way to hot to even think. In the afternoon I went to buy suppliest to repaint my bedroom. I won't be changing the colour because it would take way more work, but it's a nice lilac shade it's not too bad. I have never done this myself but I asked my dad if he could teach me, because I like learing this kind of skills. I am actually pretty excited to do this.

Chill hobbit summer activities of today (I am embracing the labeI randomly created and using this for my productivity and self care in the next couple of months):

Read first thing in the morning as I drank my tea

Watered the plants in my garden and did some working too (I cleaned up some weeds that grw around my berries and we decided to cut down another plant that was getting too big and was also a bit sick)

Sat in the garden and looked at the bees for a while

Continued crocheting my picnic blanket while enjoying the weather on my balcony

So I started this diy project back in early 2023...maybe late 2022. I thought I'd be done in a month but just yesterday I finally completed it! Ots shoddy work (especially the fact i finally got the lighting to work but it fizzled out...oh well at least my diy set is cute

I have so much love for teens going through "phases." Experimenting with their fashion, expression, and interests. Getting unusual haircuts, making their own clothes, wonky patches, putting pins on everything, turning their wardrobe into a messy patchwork of different subcultures. I really don't care if it's considered weird or cringe. They're figuring out how they see the world and how they want to be seen by the world. Just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks and it fucking rules

I called it "Ta fresquito (gatito con bufanda)" by me, Mich. It means "its cold (cat with scarf)" *cold but in a cute way idk how to translate to english, is a slang i think !

My last couple of professors finally published their canvas pages today, and well… their syllabuses are definitely posted all right 😀😀.

I’m not sure if I’m more annoyed with the obviously outdated contents (everything is due in April??), the ones that are completely empty aside from an email and office hours, or the long expensive list of materials my ECE lab is having us buy AFTER we’ve already paid our lab fees that supposedly covered everything.

Decided to make DIY stickers and pins right now because sending my professor a strongly worded email about broken links and an insane shopping list 30 mins after he posted the syllabus is wrong 😀
