"Well, tell me, then. Where are we?" he asked, annoyed with her and annoyed with himself for wasting so much time avoiding her. Maybe they would already be back at Grimmauld Place if he hadn't been so stubborn.

Her pink tongue darted out to wet her lower lip, as she did when she was nervous. "I think...we're in a book...well, the book I was reading," she explained, her cheeks going bright red. "It must have been one of those couple's romance novels from the seventies. When we touched it at the same time, we got sucked into it."

Suddenly, Remus's mouth went very dry at the thought of being in a romance novel with Hermione. "Well, what is the book?" he asked, both dreading and longing for the answer.

"It's called the Viking's Maiden. It's about a Scottish princess who gets kidnapped by vikings during a raid," she explained.

Remus waved his hand up and down in front of her body. "And what about this then?" he asked, referring to her dress and the previously mentioned corset. He was doing a very poor job of not staring at her enticing cleavage which was still well on display. "Not really historically accurate," he said, feeling like he might choke on the words.

"Well, I wasn't reading it for its historical accuracy," Hermione countered with a hiss, crossing her arms over her chest and doing absolutely nothing to help the situation.

Hermione is reading a romance novel, and is embarrassed to let anyone else see what she's reading. Unfortunately, Remus's curiosity gets the better of him. When they both touch the book, they get sucked into it's pages, forced to live through the plot.

Ohhh that's a good question, Anon. Hhmmm. If I could be stuck in any book...Oh gosh, there's a lot of good options, you know? It'd have to be one to keep me entertained because I'd get bored so easily. It'd have to be one I've read and like. And I'd definitely prefer to have a happy ending too!

Hhhmmm....gosh, this is tough. Maybe like...either Star Wars Return of the Jedi novelization or Lord of the Rings Return of the King. Maybe. I dunno. There's too many good ones, Anon!

Give me a Percy Jackson who hates swim team. Who went to a public pool for swim lessons once when he was five and started to sob the second his skin hit the water

give me a Percy Jackson who is always just the slightest bit unsettled at pools because water is never meant to have the life sucked out of it and be divided into lanes or put in boxes in the ground

A Percy Jackson who is the child of water in its most natural state, and who can hardly bear to see the way society has attempted to contain it and sterilize it and strip away its power

Chapter Thirteen

The first time that she actually saw Remus was when she was standing in front of the priest with him. The wedding was a Christian one, but she assumed it was a shortened length and not a full mass, due to the heckling the priest was receiving from Sirius, who wanted to get to the ale already. Finally, they were pronounced man and wife.

She looked up at Remus with a hesitant smile, waiting for him to kiss her. Her eyes fluttered shut before he placed the chastest of kisses to her lips. She was disappointed...she'd wanted something a bit more to sweep her off of her feet. The crowd erupted into cheers and the newly married couple were herded into the feasting hall and given seats of honor.

"That was odd," Hermione said, scrunching up her nose. "I would have expected that to have been a bit more drawn out."

"Perhaps the author knew that everyone would just want to get to the good part, after all they have put us through," Remus quipped, the first thing he'd said to her that day.

Hermione laughed. She supposed he was right. The whole purpose of this experience was to get to the...good part as he said. "Well, should we retire to your rooms then?" she asked with a grin, hoping he wouldn't think her too bold.
