"Well, tell me, then. Where are we?" he asked, annoyed with her and annoyed with himself for wasting so much time avoiding her. Maybe they would already be back at Grimmauld Place if he hadn't been so stubborn.

Her pink tongue darted out to wet her lower lip, as she did when she was nervous. "I think...we're in a book...well, the book I was reading," she explained, her cheeks going bright red. "It must have been one of those couple's romance novels from the seventies. When we touched it at the same time, we got sucked into it."

Suddenly, Remus's mouth went very dry at the thought of being in a romance novel with Hermione. "Well, what is the book?" he asked, both dreading and longing for the answer.

"It's called the Viking's Maiden. It's about a Scottish princess who gets kidnapped by vikings during a raid," she explained.

Remus waved his hand up and down in front of her body. "And what about this then?" he asked, referring to her dress and the previously mentioned corset. He was doing a very poor job of not staring at her enticing cleavage which was still well on display. "Not really historically accurate," he said, feeling like he might choke on the words.

"Well, I wasn't reading it for its historical accuracy," Hermione countered with a hiss, crossing her arms over her chest and doing absolutely nothing to help the situation.

Hermione is reading a romance novel, and is embarrassed to let anyone else see what she's reading. Unfortunately, Remus's curiosity gets the better of him. When they both touch the book, they get sucked into it's pages, forced to live through the plot.

Ohhh that's a good question, Anon. Hhmmm. If I could be stuck in any book...Oh gosh, there's a lot of good options, you know? It'd have to be one to keep me entertained because I'd get bored so easily. It'd have to be one I've read and like. And I'd definitely prefer to have a happy ending too!

Hhhmmm....gosh, this is tough. Maybe like...either Star Wars Return of the Jedi novelization or Lord of the Rings Return of the King. Maybe. I dunno. There's too many good ones, Anon!

I think the first story I read about time traveling that takes the earth’s movements into account, I read back when I was a kid, and who knows how long before that it was published

But it was an anthology of short horror stories, and if I remember correctly, it was these 2 kids who befriend this scientist (or the boy was the scientist?) and the scientist is like “I’m pretty sure my machine works but idk why nothing I send to the future shows up”

And then the girl is like “I’m going to go into the way future, where I belong” (cause she was like the “I was born in the wrong generation” kind of person) and she does it as the boy realizes what’s going on, that the machine does work, but it really does transport whatever/whoever goes into it in the exact same spot in space, instead of moving with the earth

And the last scene was the girl floating in space, having gone so far into the future that everything had moved away, and the sun and planets were long gone

Give me a Percy Jackson who hates swim team. Who went to a public pool for swim lessons once when he was five and started to sob the second his skin hit the water

give me a Percy Jackson who is always just the slightest bit unsettled at pools because water is never meant to have the life sucked out of it and be divided into lanes or put in boxes in the ground

Water isn’t meant to be contained.

a percy jackson whose skin feels like it’s slowly beginning to burn when he tries to swim in chlorinated water, who hates any set swim stroke with a passion and can’t stick to one for the life of him

who doesn’t understand why you’d want to keep only to the surface of the water, when being cradled under the surface is everything

because swimming is supposed to be like the tides, maybe patterned, but never identical, it’s supposed to be flowing with the world around you as you please

Give me a Percy Jackson who loves the sheer nature of water so much that he can’t help but quietly despise our “pools” and their dead water with their constricted sides and restrictions on what it means to change with the world around you

A Percy Jackson who is the child of water in its most natural state, and who can hardly bear to see the way society has attempted to contain it and sterilize it and strip away its power

He hates swim team, but that’s only the half of it
