See, Gojo Satoru has a problem: there is a frontier that his true feelings cannot breach. When they try to force it, it is only at the cost of their true nature that they are allowed to pass. Consequently, after a mental breakdown due to a pimple that leads to Geto taking care of him, he jumps on the chance to tell him how he feels but things don't go as smoothly as expected.

Definitely a big inspiration for FIYM. It's like Harrow the Ninth but for Gojo in the Prison Realm and like, oh my god so well done imo.

Caveat 2: TAGS check the tags. If you are at all sensitive to discussion of EDs, skip this fic, but I think it's done well and adds a lot to the characterization

Caveat 3: I am not caught up on this fic. it's one that I didn't let myself read for a while (see below) but F1 has a special place in my heart (my dad is into it, I used to live in a Gran Prix city, and I have watched WAY too much F1 Lets Play content).

I've been working really shitty hours for the past 48 hours (almost done) due to research that requires specific spans of real earth time. Because I don't have the focus to write right now, I've had the chance to read a little, and I've read about 75% of this gargantuan fic in windowless rooms on my phone, which has to say something about how much I love it lmao.

Disclaimer: I am a bad source of stsg fics because I actually don't read very many. If I read amazing fic then it tends to trigger the "you will never be as good as the old masters" part of the brain, although instead of real art like in the meme, my fic is putting gojo in a minecraft hoodie and making him do the gangnam style dance. Still.

I also get very unhealthy about metrics/numbers, which I mostly manage by using AO3 skins to block stats, but I still have some moments of weakness. So I try to avoid looking at stuff that I know might make me anxious/insecure about my own works and be unable to finish them (this has unfortunately happened to me before in the FE3H fandom, and that continues to weigh on me).

All that to say, there are some really big, nice, and well-loved fics by wonderful authors currently being updated, and I have read almost none of them. So this is absolutely not me saying I don't like their characterizations, I'm just kind of a hermit.

Hello!! Per this post, I am here to be characteristically longwinded and recommend my all time favorite stsg fics bc these two make me wanna commit seppuku and I go feral every time I think about them okay here we go

I've written a very long, very unhinged bookmark note on Ao3 about how much I love this fic. It's always hard to pick a favorite, but this one takes the cake as my #1, without a doubt. In short, the author understands stsg like no other and depicts Satoru's inability to let Suguru go SO well. It's technically smut, but like... nowhere near the reason I adore this so much. If I could marry this fic, I would.

Satosugu meets soulmatism & reincarnation & classics lit & greek mythology. So, so poetic and tragic and beautiful. Another one that I think about all the time (and have been meaning to give a reread). The author's writing style is so poetic and literary, my bread and butter. So good.

• suguru is a sexy girl-dad stripper. satoru is a “retired” assassin/special agent who loves chicken wings & annoying nanami (crazy!!!!) mahito is a deranged bitch trying to kill everyone. but holy fucking shit???? this was so amazing and the fluff was probably the most well-written and comforting fluff I've ever encountered on the internet. I can’t even explain how articulate and amazing the writing and characterizations in this fic are. This is my #1.

• formula one au. I’m sure y’all have seen it everywhere. there’s a reason for that. this fic right here has the potential to be my favorite stsg fic EVER written. the writing. the depth. the character progression. the intertwining plots. the relationships. the drama. oh my fucking god. • this fic right here. the ultimate comfort geto fic (until mine is released🫡). I’m telling you this makes everything feel better. just 1k+ words of the fmc taking care of geto. because he is a princess and the loml and deserves nothing but the best care and treatment.

Ausländer -> I rated this: 9.9/10

• outlaw!geto, officer!gojo, and a badass fmc. she literally builds/runs her own town. this is a geto/fmc fic but there is unresolved tension with stsg. let me tell you, this is a work of ART. a MASTERPIECE. I wish I could get this tattooed on my brain. the fmc is soooo well written and has amazing depth. this is some delicious wild wild west type shit. lots of guns and saloons and chases on horses!!!! fucking incredible. I strongly urge you to read this.

Sneak peek for Chapter 19 (spoiler warning): You're the One Thing I Can't Stand to Lose

Satoru was late. He should’ve been there a couple of minutes ago.

It wasn’t necessarily the biggest deal, Satoru wasn’t always the best with time to begin with, so maybe he just got distracted once they got off the phone.

Yes, that had to be what it was.

Satoru was fine. He was almost there. Suguru would hear the buzzer any second.

Any second spanned several minutes, with nothing to satiate the growing pit in Suguru’s stomach. It tore through his gut, making him feel hollow.

Should he call Satoru? What if he was trapped somewhere? But if he was, why hadn’t he called? Maybe he didn’t have service?

Suguru debated it more, but figured he probably shouldn't call. If Satoru was still driving, he should focus on getting off the roads safely, whether that was to Suguru’s apartment, or back to his own house, or even holding himself up in a building with other refugees of the storm.

Yet, the pit in his stomach still nagged at him. Suguru settled on just calling Shoko, to check in with her and see if she knew anything.

Satoru was fine. He had to be fine.

The call seemed to ring forever before Shoko picked up.

“Aren’t you supposed to be having a little date with the birthday boy?” She said, half teasingly, half curious.

Suguru felt his heart drop though, his throat closing. “So you haven’t heard from him?” His voice was choked out weakly.

“No?” Shoko said, “Isn’t he with you?”

“No.” Suguru’s hand shot to his mouth as his body started to shake. This wasn’t happening, it couldn’t be. Satoru would show up any second, laughing about how long he took, and giving Suguru a hug for how much he was scaring the life out of him.

Suguru was just overreacting. Satoru was fine. He said he would be.

He promised.

He lived with satoru. I think suguru had his curses around the house to protect the kids. Satoru knew they would get together again.
