Y/N, a Deadpool variant, slides up to Daisy…
Y/N: hey gorgeous you seem stressed. what do you say you and me find a quiet place to help you decompress?
Daisy: Pool, you realize the risk right?
Y/N: what risk?
Daisy: if you give me too great of an O, I might kill you with my powers.
Y/N: if I died making you feel like you hit cloud nine, that would be a worthy death!
Daisy rolls her eyes and drags Y/N somewhere a little more private

1948 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series 1
Howard finally opens the S.H.I.E.L.D. agency and makes Peggy director. The SSR keep the Playground base and are absorbed into S.H.I.E.L.D. as their research division.
Howard's greater authority and larger amount of resources from the government (as well as his own) allow them to pull in more heroes.
S.H.I.E.L.D. will fight terrorist cells and non-state actors, investigate supernatural phenomena, also deal with and cover up powered people cos the general public "can't handle the truth". This is part of their mandate from the government and S.H.I.E.L.D. is threatened with closure or refusal of funding many times for trying to circumvent this aspect of their role within said government.
Director Carter is trying to maintain a long distance relationship with Sousa and has to investigate the "hit" on Agent Thomson.
Zodiac is the main story for this series.
Zodiac is behind the assassination attempt, with the council of 9 previously being under them. Vernon Masters returns to do their bidding (never saw a body right?). Peggy's brother has been alive all this time and it was his redacted file that Thomson was to smear Peggy with and not actually Peggy's (Michael's name and d.o.b. were redacted just leaving the surname Carter and informants that heavily implied that it was Peggy). With the smear failed, the Zodiac group want it back, for safe keeping. Thomson is the only one outside of the Zodiac or the council of 9 that has read it, so he was supposed to be killed, but they hired Dottie to do it and she was able to make it look like she was trying to kill him without killing him ("if I'd wanted to kill him he'd be dead"). She arranges a meet with Peggy in a subterfugey way, info dumps, insists she really was trying to be helpful by taking the hit job, and manages to wriggle away again.
Zodiac is led by Marcus Lassiter (A buff Milo Ventimiglia with a cool beard). Marcus has the codename Aries and wears ram horns at the meetings which seems silly at first till we realise they are functional and they all have silly costumes. Marcus has super-human strength, which we don't see initially.
All of the Zodiac members have themed powers/tech:
Taurus (Cornelius Van Lunt) has bought his seat on the board and isn't afraid to use that fact. He has a bull's head costume. He also has dangerous horns.
Gemini (Joshua and Damian Link) are identical twins have identical costumes and carry identical dual wielding pistols. They have an amazing synergy when they fight as a duo. They only get one vote between them.
Cancer (Jack Kleveno) has a crab costume. That is all I have to say about that.
Leo (Daniel Radford) is a dude in a lion suit. It has a lion mask and an exoskeleton that gives the wearer enhanced strength, agility and durability.
Virgo (Elaine McLaughlin) has an extraterrestrial material coating her suit which gives her great durability and shock absorption. It also allows her to heal/regenerate herself or others. In my head, crab man gets injured by S.H.I.E.L.D. and Elaine comes back and gets captured just to heal her secret crustacean lover.
Libra (Gustav Brandt) has a hi tec blindfold that allows him limited psychic abilities and a teleportation ring. Martial artist too.
Scorpio (Jake Fury) has a costume with venom blasts and neurotoxic sprays. Yes. That Fury. In the comics he is Nick's brother. Here he would have to be his dad. In the series he is only referred to as Jake initially to keep his identity a slight surprise.
Sagittarius (Harlan Vargas) has an eye mask that grants enhanced vision and tracking abilities. He is highly skilled with a bow and arrow.
Capricorn (Willard Weir) is green. I'm thinking they're an alien. This superpower ideas site says Capricorn might have shape shifting abilities so they could be a Skrull masquerading as a Willard Weir.
Aquarius (Michael Carter) has a water based costume and weapons. Michael was not happy with the smear on Peggy but went along with it for fear of repercussions.  But now her life is under threat, so he leaves warnings for her to help her avoid getting killed. Eventually Aries discovers the betrayal and beats Michael to death in his secret apartment. Peggy comes across the apartment as part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. investigation and discovers the body. She realises he was the one giving warnings (to help them avoid traps, ambushes etc) and finds a note he wrote for her when he knew Aries was coming for him. It's written in their shared childhood code. It explains his motivations (he was trying to change the world for the better) and gives some info about what Zodiac are going to do next. Zachary Drebb is the second Aquarius.
Piesces (Noah Perricone) is blue and looks like he'd be good in the water so I'm thinking Talokanil
S.H.I.E.L.D. discover there is an off-books SSR mole on the inside. They are furious with Flynn for not telling them straight away. Flynn thought it would compromise the mole's safety.
As the Zodiac members are arrested or killed during the S.H.I.E.L.D. investigation, Jake Fury is revealed as the SSR mole. He tries to escape with the actual Zodiac key but it corrupts him and he tries to incite rebellion within the remaining Zodiac council members to effect social change. This just causes everyone to squabble and fight. Aries finds this amusing, but comes for Jake nevertheless. Jake ends up losing the key back to Aries, but escapes with his life.
Aries reveals himself as an actual god at the end of the series. He was cast out by Zeus for causing too much trouble in Omnipotence City and bound to be peaceful. He has taken that to mean he can't fight personally and has been manipulating world events with extracts from the aforementioned Zodiac Key to cause as much conflict as possible. The S.H.I.E.L.D. team have been annoying him by thwarting his plans. He says he is tired of being subtle.
They need the whole team, including Dottie, Sousa, Thomson and the Howling commandos using Stark tech and the Human Torch (Jim), Union Jack II (Brian) and Spitfire (Jacqueline). Peggy also calls in a favour from California based Adam Brashear (aka Blue Marvel) to help take him down. As Adam was the love interest from the previous series, this risks embarrassment for Peggy and could possibly end her relationship with Sousa, but the stakes are too high not to.
Ultimately Jim is the only one not affected by the Zodiac key and has to go Supernova to knock him out. He knew he was becoming unstable and had been advised he might go supernova, he just decides to do it on purpose. Heroic sacrifice! The team is devastated at the loss.
A relationship between Jim and Jacqueline would be built up through the series so she would take this the hardest.
Zeus could come and actually bind Ares with power dampening bangles. This physically prevents him from conflict instead of just getting his word. He is captured and will not be seen again till Dark Avengers.
S.H.I.E.L.D. recommends Adam for a commendation and Jim for a posthumous one. The CIA intervene and say that not only will no one will be getting one but no one must hear of it. The existence of gods and aliens is very much covered up at the behest of the American government so as not to cause mass hysteria. No one outside of the President and the people who were at the final battle know anything about it.
Adam is told he cannot be publicly rewarded and is no longer allowed to fight crime (he has been fighting crime in a costume and mask to hide his identity) as the CIA believe the world is not ready for a black superhero. The President reluctantly confirms this. S.H.I.E.L.D. must assign him a handler (he is so going to fight crime).
As Jim was essentially a sentient weapon the CIA won't publicly acknowledge his existence and stipulate he must be buried in the desert in an indestructible airtight box. The President reluctantly confirms this too.
Dottie disappears after making a significant contribution and manages to stay off radar until the first Black Widow movie…
Peggy and Sousa decide to carry on with their long distance relationship.
Namor shows up when he finds out about Noah. He is not happy that his citizen was defeated and arrested and he vows never to return. He is also not happy with said citizen for acting without his consent and forces S.H.I.E.L.D. to release him into Talokanil custody. He is sorry about Jim Hammond's passing though and stays for the burial in a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. location in the desert.
Post credits:- Peggy calls Marlene Frazier and asks, as she has been with Adam this whole time anyway, if she'll be his handler. He comes home and gives her a kiss, they have developed a relationship while working together. She says she is happy to keep an eye on him.

PEGGY WEEK 2024
day one — 20th century ⏳
@lgbtqcreators creator bingo 💖 overlay.
Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Carter began her long life of service as a code-breaker for Bletchley Park during World War II. She was then invited to be an agent for the Special Operations Executive (S.O.E) as one of their first female spies; later she joined the Strategic Scientific Reserve (S.S.R.) and remained there after the war. Carter fought alongside Captain America and his team and was considered an honorary Howling Commando by them, even leading the team after the Captain's "death". With the dissolution of the S.S.R. a few years after the war ended, Carter became a co-founder of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D.). Eventually, she reached the status of director of said agency, a position she held until her retirement. She died peacefully in her sleep in 2016.

first of all: 😂
BUT ALSO i may have.... previously.... considered this option:
There’s a handful of people at the back of the briefing room - Walker catches them as they move in midway through the rundown, near silent; he counts four, but there may be more just outside of his peripheral vision.
They’re wearing all black, tactical uniforms with only one small identifying patch on the right cap of their sleeves - he can’t see it clear enough from here to make a guess at what government faction they might be in from -
They’re also decked out in weaponry - two, maybe three guns each and an assortment of knives, stun batons and other equipment, too much for something as simple as this is supposed to be.
Lemar elbows him, bringing his attention back to the briefing itself.
It’ll be their first mission out of West Point and if anyone in the room is nervous that they’ll be running it alongside what seems to be a highly efficient and over equipped strike team, they don’t show it.
The commander goes over the basic plan from start to finish again in quickly listed bullet points that leave a lot to the imagination - drop in over the target, secure the package, eliminate the hostiles, rendezvous back at base.
Do not miss your ride out unless you’re looking to set up camp there permanently.
Walker almost makes it out of the room before he’s called back in.
Almost.
One of the men in all black is chatting with the commander when he turns around, the other four are still hovering near the back of the room, “Sir?” he asks, coming to parade rest close enough to see the patch - black and silver, a bird with it’s arms outstretched; it’s familiar enough that something clicks the pieces together in his brain and supplies him with counter-terrorism but not the actual faction.
“Walker,” his commanding officer starts, glancing over to the stranger beside them; the other man looks to be in his mid-40s, dark hair buzzed in close at the sides and longer on top, he’s got dark eyes too - maybe a deep green, more likely a hazel or amber but the light in the briefing room makes it hard to tell for sure, the left corner of his mouth is pulled up into a smirk -
It’s easy but just smug enough that Walker is pretty sure he’s being sized up even if the new guy is only watching his face,
“This is Agent Rumlow, he’s with the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division -”
“SHIELD is fine, bit easier to say.” Rumlow says, cutting off the man who Walker is pretty sure continues to be the highest ranking officer in the room, “Heard a lot about you Walker, we’re here to see if you’d make a good Agent.”
Walker looks between his commanding officer and the other man for long enough that Agent Rumlow huffs a low laugh and nudges his shoulder to get him moving,
“C’mon kid, you’re with us.”

you take the man out of the city (not the city out the man)
eventual buck/eddie | mature | 9-1-1 (TV) & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Evan Buckley was nineteen the first time he was contacted by the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.
He was nineteen, being a college drop-out and without a family who really cared about him. He was also convinced that the universe put him on Earth to help people and that by joining them, he would get to do it.
He was wrong.
He’s now twenty-nine, living in LA and has been reinstated in his job after having to sue for it. He now knows what his boss meant when he said that he would regret coming back to them.
He’s also twenty-nine when S.H.I.E.L.D. contacted him again.

By the time you arrive at your destination it’s morning and Natasha’s awake, a little worse for wear but she assures you she’s fine. You help her as you walk up to the door and Steve knocks on it.
“Hey, man.” the man Steve informed you is named Sam answers the door.
“I'm sorry about this,” Steve says “we need a place to lay low.”
“Everyone we know is trying to kill us.” Natasha adds.
“Not everyone.” he says after looking at all three of you for a few seconds, then he lets you in and closes the door after taking a quick look outside.
You stay in the kitchen with Sam as Natasha and Steve clean up. “So, how do you know Captain Spangles?”
You ask him as he cooks, making him laugh. “I met him a couple of days ago on a run. What about you?”
“We work together.” you meet his eye and he raises an eyebrow at you, willing you to go on. “I guess you might as well know, after all you are harboring two fugitives.”
“Fugitives? Who is Captain America running from?” he turns around, giving you his full attention.
“SHIELD. Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.” That's obviously not enough information for him, so you keep going.
“it’s an espionage and security organization that defends Earth and its people from groups that pose advanced technological, and sometimes supernatural or extraterrestrial, threats. I’m an Agent of Shield, currently working for the STRIKE team which happen to be the very same bad people that are looking for Tasha and Steve.” you end bitterly, looking away from Sam and shaking your head, disappointed in yourself.
“Well, you don’t look like a very bad person, why are you working with them?” Sam surprises you with this question, clearly he’s a very good judge of character.
“I was assigned when I became a pawn to an asshole’s psychotic plan to rule the world.” you deadpan.
“Don’t worry, it happens to all of us one time or the other” he says with a smirk, making you laugh.
He then goes to inform Steve and Nat that breakfast is ready. When he comes back you give him an amused look, raising your eyebrow in question. “If you guys eat that sort of thing?”
“I don’t know what supersoldiers and spies eat.” he shrugs and laughs with you.
“You two are getting along great.” Nat wiggles her eyebrows at you as she takes a seat at the table.
“Down, girl.” you tell her with a fake glare, which she merely smirks at. “So, Captain. Care to fill us mortals in about what you found at the camp?”
“Hydra.” he simply says, sitting down “We found Hydra.”
“Hydra? So you’re telling me that Pierce, STRIKE and who knows how many other Shield agents that we’ve been working along with for decades are Hydra?!” you try to wrap your head around it, but how can you? You knew they were bad dudes, you just didn’t think they were this bad.
“Yeah…” Natasha says, clear from her face that she’s feeling as betrayed as you do.
“Do you know anything about who killed Fury?” you ask quietly, eyes fixated on your plate. “Did Pierce have anything to do with it?”
“It was the Winter Soldier.” Natasha says, and your eyes snap to hers.
You weren’t there on her mission in Odessa, but you and Clint were both there for her afterwards and she told you all about it. You tried to stop her from going after him, resisting the urge to say ‘I told you so’ when her search concluded in nothing.
“The Winter Soldier?” Sam echoes. “Who’s that?”
“A Hydra supersoldier.” Steve answers.
“There’s more of you?” Sam asks, a little surprised.
“How do you know he’s a supersoldier?” You ask at the same time, just as surprised. “What does he look like?”
“He’s strong. Too strong.” Steve says, “tall, dark long hair, metal arm-”
"Wait," Sam interrupts, looking as dumbfounded as you're feeling at that last detail, "He has a METAL ARM?!"
"That's really not the important part here." Steve says, like it was a normal thing to be discussing.
"Easy for you to say, supersoldier serum." you interject quickly, "A hit with that and we're worse than useless" you say while pointing to yourself and Sam.
Nat is snickering and looking at Sam, probably waiting for him to disagree, but apparently he has as much self-awareness as you do.
"No, she's right." he says "I might be a badass, but I'm certainly not metalproof."
“Exactly.” you nod.
“Ok, we can worry about that later.” Steve dismisses you with an eye roll. You and Sam share a concerned look, but let it go.
“So, the question is: who in SHIELD could launch a domestic missile strike?” Nat asks.
“Pierce.” Steve promptly answers.
“Who happens to be sitting on top of the most secure building in the world.” you interject.
“But he's not working alone,” Steve says “Zola's algorithm was on the Lemurian Star.”
“So was Jasper Sitwell.” Natasha ends. There’s a moment of silence before Steve asks the next obvious question.
“So, the real question is: how do the two most wanted people in Washington kidnap a Shield officer in broad daylight?”
“The answer is: you don’t.” Sam says, dropping some files on the table and looking at you, you narrow your eyes on him in suspicion when you meet his gaze while Steve picks up the files.
“What is this?” he asks.
“Call it a resume.” he says cryptically as you move behind Steve to look at the files.
“Is this Bakhmala? The Khalid Khandil mission, that was you?” you ask and he nods as Natasha looks at Steve.
“You didn’t say he was a pararescue.” she says, looking at the photo he was holding.
“Is this Riley?” Steve asks Sam.
“Yeah.” Sam confirms.
“I heard they couldn't bring in the choppers because of the RPGs. What did you use, a stealth chute?” Natasha asks him now.
“No,” he says, handing Steve another file “these.”
“I thought you said you were a pilot.” Steve says, a little shocked.
“I never said pilot.” Sam smirks.
“I can't ask you to do this, Sam.” Steve reasons “You got out for a good reason.”
“Dude, Captain America needs my help.” he says, obviously feeling very proud “There's no better reason to get back in.” you snort at his patriotism and he’s smirking again.
“Where can we get our hand on one of these?” you question him.
“The last one is at Fort Meade, behind three guarded gates and a twelve-inch steel wall.” he promptly says and you narrow your eyes at him in suspicion again even if you can't help but grin. Why does he even know that?
Steve looks at Natasha who shrugs and then at you and you nod, so he turns back to Sam. “Shouldn’t be a problem.”
-
You end up getting paired with Sam so you find yourself sitting with him at a cafe near the stairs Sitwell should be coming down any minute now.
“There he is.” you discreetly tell Sam as you see him walking with Senator Stern and a few bodyguards. You watch them talk and then the senator starts walking away.
“Call him now” you tell Sam. Sitwell says something to his guards and when they walk away he answers the phone.
“Agent Sitwell, how was lunch?” Sam says casually “I hear the crab cakes here are delicious.” you giggle and Sam grins at you.
You can’t hear the other side of the conversation, but can guess what Sitwell asks when Sam says “The good looking guy in the sunglasses with the pretty girl, your ten o'clock” you roll your eyes at Sam and you see Sitwell turn the wrong way.
“Your other ten o’clock. There you go.” he says when he spots you two. Sam raises his glass at him while you simply wave at Sitwell.
You can see his lips moving while talks and then Sam says, “You're gonna go around the corner, to your right. There's a grey car, two spaces down. The three of us are gonna take a ride.”
He says something else and Sam answers with “Because that tie looks really expensive, and I'd hate to mess it up.” you smirk as you see him look down at the red spot on his tie and then look around him, clearly panicking.
“Consider him convinced.” you tell Sam as you both make your way to the car and he laughs.
Once you enter the vehicle, Sitwell in the back seat, his eyes almost pop out of his skull when he finally recognizes you.
“Agent YLN?!” he all but yells.
“Sir.” you say sarcastically, saluting him.
-
You get to the building Steve and Nat are in and escort Sitwell to the top of the stairs while Sam suits up.
“All yours, Captain.” you tell him, shoving Sitwell towards him.
Steve pushes him aggressively through the door to the roof. “Tell me about Zola’s algorithm.”
“Never heard of it.”
“What were you doing on the Lemurian Star?” Steve tries.
“I was throwing up, I get seasick.” you try to hide a smirk, you have to give it to him, dude is funny.
Steve keeps pushing him until he’s on the edge of the roof, but Sitwell simply smiles. “Is this little display meant to insinuate that you're gonna throw me off the roof? Because it's really not your style, Rogers.”
“You’re right. It’s not.” Steve says calmly as he straightens the agent’s suit, then nods toward Natasha. “It’s hers.”
He stands aside and Nat simply kicks Sitwell and he goes down screaming.
“Oh wait, what about that girl from accounting, Laura…?” Natasha trails off, and you think of who she could be talking about.
“Lilian” Steve corrects her “Lip piercing, right?” she nods.
“Oh yeah” you say when you place her “She’s cute” you add, looking at Steve.
“Yeah, I’m not ready for that.” He simply says and you roll your eyes and share a look with Natasha.
You suddenly see Sam flying up towards the roof with his Falcon jet-pack, holding Sitwell and then throwing him on the roof. “That’s cool” you say quietly as you get closer to Sitwell.
He holds his hands up in fear, then starts talking. “Zola's algorithm is a program...for choosing Insight's targets!”
“What targets?” Steve says.
“You!” He yells “A TV anchor in Cairo, the Undersecretary of Defense, a high school valedictorian in Iowa city. Bruce Banner, Stephen Strange, anyone who's a threat to HYDRA! Now, or in the future.”
“The Future?” you’re all thinking the same thing “How could it know?” Sitwell simply laughs.
“How could it not? The 21st century is a digital book. Zola taught HYDRA how to read it.” You all look at him while frowning in confusion “Your bank records, medical histories, voting patterns, e-mails, phone calls, your damn SAT scores. Zola's algorithm evaluates people's past to predict their future.”
“And what then?” Steve says, worry all over his face.
“Oh, my God.” Sitwell says, more to himself while looking at the ground “Pierce is gonna kill me.”
“What then?!” you all but yell, your patience running out fast.
“Then the Insight Helicarriers scratch people off the list.” He looks back up at Steve before finishing. “A few million at a time.”
You all look at each other, the same worry written on all your faces. This is definitely not good.
-
You’re all in Sam’s car directed towards the Triskelion while Sitwell’s still freaking out. “HYDRA doesn’t like leaks.”
“Then why don't you try sticking a cork in it.” Sam answers from the driver's seat and you snort in amusement, before trying for the millionth time to get more comfortable.
“Why do I have to sit in the middle?” you almost whine, meeting Steve’s eyes in the rearview mirror and pouting like a child while he glares at your antics.
“Insight's launching in sixteen hours,” Natasha says, leaning into you to look at Steve, completely ignoring your little temper tantrum. “we're cutting it a little bit close here.”
“I know.” Steve says “We'll use him to bypass the DNA scans and access the Helicarriers directly.”
“What?! Are you crazy?” If you thought he was freaking out before. “That is a terrible, terrible idea-”
He gets interrupted by a thud in the roof then a hand breaks through the window on Sitwell’s side and throws him into the next lane where he gets hit by a truck, instantly killing him.
You have no time to process anything as the person on the roof starts shooting, narrowly missing you and Natasha as you both move to the front of the car, Nat on Steve’s lap and you on Sam’s.
Steve pulls the brake handle, and the person gets thrown down onto the street.
“That’s a cool move” you say while you see the Winter Soldier slide to a stop with his metal hand and then get up.
“Seriously?” Sam glares at you.
“I’m just saying-” you cut yourself off when you turn to face Sam, seeing an armored truck coming towards you.
A second later the vehicle that you’re now sure is being used by the STRIKE team smashes into the back of Sam’s car and pushes it, you can feel Sam holding tight onto your waist at the impact and you can see Natasha dropping her gun.
The Winter Soldier jumps back onto the car and you all look up, Sam pushes the brakes, but a metal hand smashes through the windshield and you let out a high pitch scream as you hold onto Sam tighter, burying your face in his neck to protect your face from the glass as the steering wheel gets pulled out of the car.
You can hear Sam scream “Shit!” then Natasha finally gets a hold of her gun and starts shooting at the roof but the Winter Soldier jumps onto the vehicle behind you that taps the back of your car sending it towards the divider on the road.
Steve holds on to the car door and yells “Hang On!”
Natasha holds onto him and he grabs Sam while you hold onto Sam as if your life depended on it, which it kind of does, his hold on you just as tight.
Somehow Steve breaks open the door and you all slide through the street as Sam’s car flies through the air, the truck with the Winter Soldier on top of it going a bit further before stopping.
You and Sam slip from the door and roll on the street while Natasha and Steve stay on it and slip closer to the bad guys.
Before you can comprehend what’s happening you get pulled behind a car by Sam, bullets flying towards you.
You barely register Natasha hiding behind the car next to you before Sam’s pulling you further away to hide behind another car. Once they stop shooting at you and Sam, you take a minute to catch your breath.
“Thank you” you tell him and he turns your way.
“Anytime” he says, then he chances a look towards the armed guys before turning back to you. “Ready?”
You nod, and as you both discreetly make your way closer to them you silently hand a tactical knife to Sam and then take one out for yourself.
As you get closer you hear the Winter Soldier order the others in Russian to find Steve while he takes care of Nat, then he easily jumps off the bridge onto a car.
Damn. He may be lethal but it’s impressive what he can do.
The others use ice axes with ropes to rappel down and then start shooting the bus that Steve fell into.
As the last two agents are about to jump down, you and Sam sneak up behind them. You stab one of them while Sam cuts the gun strap of the other and then kicks him down the bridge.
You look towards Sam a little shocked but he merely nods and then the both of you bring your attention back to the street below and proceed to help take out the guys shooting at Steve.
“Go, we got this!” Sam yells down when Steve looks up and sees you shooting the guys that are now focused on both of you and not the Captain. So he takes the opportunity to run after the Winter Soldier.
Just as you finish shooting the last guy, you see an explosion coming from the direction Steve just ran to and you share a worried glance with Sam.
“Let’s go.” he says and you don’t need to be told twice.
You follow him to his car where he manages to open the trunk and get his wings then he puts them on before turning back to you and putting his hands on your waist. “You better hold on”
You barely have time to put your arms around his neck and he’s taking flight “I don’t like this!” you yell in his ear and can hear him chuckling.
You get closer to them just in time to see a now maskless Winter Soldier aim his gun at Steve, the idiot frozen for some reason.
“Let go!” you tell Sam and he does, basically throw your on the supersoldier assassin. Not the best plan, but you get him away from Steve.
When you get up and see the face of the Soldier, your eyes widen in shock as you recognize the soldier from the numerous black and white photos you've seen of the Howling Commandos.
“Sergeant Barnes?” you say, but his face has no recognition of the name.
He stops for merely a second to glance at Steve behind you before bringing his gun up again, but before he can shoot there’s a sound behind you. You duck instinctively and then a car near the sergeant blows up.
You look behind you and see Natasha with Barnes’ gun leaning on a car, Steve’s face as shocked as you feel. When you turn back around where the soldier was, he’s already gone.
The four of you get surrounded pretty quickly, Rumlow’s stupid face coming into view as he screams at Steve to drop the shield and get on his knees, kicking Steve’s leg and then yours as you’re next to him now.
“You made the wrong choice, Agent.” he tells you and you roll your eyes.
“Shut the fuck up, Rumlow.” He presses his gun against your head and almost growls, annoyed that even with a big ass gun pointed at you you’re not even a little bit afraid of him.
His attention gets taken off of you when he looks up to a news helicopter and then the idiot holding Steve Rogers at gunpoint and says, “Put the gun down. Not here. Not here!”
Rollins finally puts his gun down and then they take you, Steve, Sam and a bleeding Natasha into custody.

I was talking to my brother about how much I love that Peggy named Shield after Steve and he pointed out that the American government has always had a thing for ridiculous acronyms and we came up with this scene where Peggy and Howard have decided they want the acronym to spell Shield and they have it written on a whiteboard but all they've come up with is "strategic" for S and maybe "division" for D and they're trying to work out the rest of the letters. And Phillips barges in and lectures them about being stupidly sentimental or smth and WE DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS THERE'S MORE IMPORTANT THINGS THAN THE FRICKIN ACRONYM and then he looks at the whiteboard and he just goes. "Homeland intervention enforcement logistics." And then he leaves. And Peggy and Howard are like oh yeah that's it! And the energy is this is Peggy and Howard

Rewatching Agents of SHIELD because I loved it in high school, fell off sometime in college, and never watched the last few seasons, and I'm struck by the S.H.I.E.L.D. acronym.
Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Decision.
One of those bulky names that could put some NASA projects to shame with just how heavy handed the attempt to fit the acronym into something cool is. Still, got me thinking. If this is the "Enforcement and Logistics Divisions", what about the other departments?
Anyways, I want to start a show about the Technical Specialists, aka, the S.H.I.T.S.

Mission
Tumblr media
Part 1, Part 3
Pairing: Steve Rogers x android!reader
Word Count: 1438
Steve, lost in his thoughts, persistently punched the boxing equipment set up within the gymnasium. You, in an attempt to aid Steve in adapting to the modern world, proposed a daily regimen. Mirror a facet of his old life while incorporating education, social interaction, technology familiarization, culture exposure, and self-reflection. You handled Steve’s circumstances with care. It was a delicate situation. While he slept, you thoroughly and extensively searched through scientific journals and articles to be able to assist him to the best of your ability.
The doors of the gymnasium swung open, capturing your attention without disrupting Steve. He remained immersed in contemplation. You observed the individual meticulously. The man wore a black eyepatch over his left eye and a black leather trench coat. Head of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D), Nick Fury, tracked Steve’s movements as sand spilled onto the floor.
Steve took a few breathers, reveling in his convoluted feelings, before carrying and hooking another bag. He soon began to punch the bag.
“Trouble sleeping?”
“I slept for seventy years, sir. I think I’ve had my fill.” Steve did not let Fury’s intrusion interrupt his drill nor did you see it fit to interrupt their conversation. Social interaction was important, and Steve was lacking in that department anyhow.
“Then you should be out, celebrating, seeing the world.”
Steve stops punching and walks over to the bench, unraveling the tape off his hands. He sits down, “I went under, the world was at war, I wake up, they say we won. They didn’t say what we lost.”
“We’ve made some mistakes along the way. Some very recently.”
“You here with a mission, sir?”
“I am.” Fury gives you an unfamiliar look before directing the conversation towards you, “Turn off MODEL AX400.”
“I am sorry Director Fury; I only respond to Captain Rogers.”
“Steve.” He corrected you, “And [Reader] will not be turned off. Anywhere I go, they go as well.” Steve refused to refer to you as a machine or a thing. To him, you were a person without the need to eat, sleep, and breathe. You had your own thoughts; therefore, allowing yourself to make choices for yourself. You did not think he understood how your programming worked, however, it was on one of the schedules for your technology familiarization course.
“Captain Rogers, I think it would be in the best interest of the government if...” Fury tried to find the appropriate language to direct the conversation towards national security, “unauthorized technology didn’t get their hands on highly classified documents. I’d rather these files not get into the hands of enemies if MODEL AX400 was to be captured or reprogrammed.”
Steve ignored Fury’s suggestion and proceeded to browse through the files of Hydra’s projects. “Hydra’s secret weapon.”
Fury sighed knowing he had lost, “Howard Stark fished that out of the ocean when he was looking for you. He thought what we think, the Tesseract could be the key to unlimited sustainable energy. That’s something the world solely needs.”
“Who took it from you?”
“He’s called Loki. He’s not from around here. There’s a lot we’ll have to bring you up to speed on if you’re in. The world has gotten even stranger than you already know.”
Steve felt he knew how strange the world as become. His caretaker looked human but was made from wires. Your skin and mannerisms felt real but were constructed to perform to perfection. How stranger could the world have become? “At this point, I doubt anything would surprise me.”
“Ten bucks says you’re wrong. There’s a debriefing package waiting for you back at your apartment. Keep it away from MODEL AX400.” As Steve readies to leave, you gather the rest of his things. You hand him his water bottle as you both begin to head out. “Is there anything you can tell us about the Tesseract that we ought to know now?”
“You should have left it in the ocean.”
As Steve spent the rest of the day reviewing the debriefing package at the apartment, you began to make a hearty meal for him in preparation for the mission. He needed to regain the calories he spent plunging all of his energy into the gym equipment. Usually, you would teach him a new recipe as it has become routine for the two of you to cook together. You understood that he was busy working.
While Steve did not agree with Fury’s statement about you, he still kept the files away. Not like he really tried, you understood. You could not defy him even if you wanted to. “Do you want me to prepare for a prolong leave, Captain Rogers?”
“Steve,” He corrected you once again, “And yes, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m sorry, we couldn’t continue our usual schedule.” It felt wrong of him to disrupt the routine the two of you have established. He didn’t know he would get a mission so soon after his rescue. He thought he would have more time adjusting to the modern world.
You gave him what seemed to be a tender smile, “No apologies needed. It will be moved towards another time.” You went back to stirring before moving around the apartment. You had made it warmer and more personalized. Before it was cold with the walls bare and nothing to signify a person was truly living in it.
The next day Steve and you were transferred to one of SHIELD’s quinjets. As soon it landed on top of the runway, the two of you and Agent Coulson walked down the ramp. The man was obviously starstruck the entire way, blatantly staring at Steve with heart eyes and awe, but not speaking a world towards him.
“Agent Romanoff. Captain Rogers.”
“Ma’am?”
“Hi.” Her attention mildly glanced in your direction for a moment before it turned towards Coulson, “They need you on the bridge. Face time.”
“See you there.” Coulson walked away, leaving Steve and yourself with the assassin.
“There was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice. I thought Coulson was gonna swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?”
Steve was rather confused, “Trading cards?”
“They’re vintage, he’s very proud.”
You noticed a man walking towards the three of you, fidgeting due to his nervousness, maneuvering around people as they block his way. Steve notices him as well, “Dr. Banner.” They shake hands.
“Oh, yeah. Hi. They told me you’d be coming.” Bruce noticed you in the background of Steve and Agent Romanoff “Who’s this?”
“This is [Reader], they were assigned to help me adjust.” Steve mentioned.
“It’s nice to meet you.” He gave you a timid smile, a smile you returned.
“It’s nice to meet you too, Dr. Banner. I found your research to be fascinating.” You had come across his available roster of scientific journals and research upon searching for topics to bring up in your refresher course for Steve. While you would not go in-depth, unless Steve wanted to, you thought reviewing the basics would be beneficial for him.
“Word is you can find the cube.” Steve interjected.
“Is that the only word on me?”
“Only word I care about.”
Dr. Banner takes in the sentiment, “Must be strange for you, all of this.”
“Well, this is actually kind of familiar.”
“Gentlemen, you may wanna step inside in a minute. It’s gonna get a little hard to breath.” The runway begins to shake, puzzling the two men.
“Is this a submarine?”
“Really?” Dr. Banner questioned, “They want me in a submerged pressurized metal container?” All four of you moved towards the edge of the ‘runway’ and saw four large lift fans mount on the sides as it is lifted into the air. Steve is mesmerized by the technology.
“Oh, no. This is much worse.”
Steve, Banner and you walked through the gleaming bridge of the helicarrier.
“Gentlemen.” Steve silently handed Fury 10 bucks as he was indeed surprised. Fury walked towards Dr. Banner, extending his hand, hoping the doctor would shake it. “Doctor, thank you for coming.”
“Thanks for asking nicely. So, uh...” Banner questioned, “how long am I staying?”
“Captain Rogers, why don’t you leave your machine elsewhere while we discuss this privately.” This caused Banner to silently question the man as there was no machine Steve was with.
“[Reader] why don’t you go sit down while we address the details of the mission.” Steve gently stated. He did not want to argue with Fury in front of another.
“Of course, Captain Rogers.” You nodded, “Let me know if I can help in any way.”
