For the past several years I've been trying not to censor myself in my art making process. What that has come to is that I share much less, and what I put online is only a small sliver of the art that I make. I think this is one of my favorite songs that I've ever made (and the last I made on Garageband before switching over to Ableton) yet I've been so hesitant to share it. I'm still considering the nature of art as therapy and therapy as art. If I use art as a therapeutic non-performative practice does that make me less of an artist? How much is casual sharing oversharing? To what limits do I want to exist online and why do I feel the drive to share this song now as opposed to earlier or later?
