I'm not saying that I don't like the way S1 of ST went, but I'm thinking about the possibilities if it wasn't Barb, the obvious outcast in the group, who went missing.
What if it was Carol? Would Tommy also become a decent person and get involved in the Upside Down mess trying to rescue her? Would he blame Steve? And vice versa, what if Tommy got taken? Would Carol maybe become kinder, perhaps closer with Barb and Nancy?
But the most intriguing option for me is - what if it was Nancy? Imagine everyone going inside, Barb's hand starts bleeding again and Steve accompanies her to make sure her wound is okay, that it doesn't get infected. Nancy waits by the pool, trying to clean droplets of Barb's blood...and she gets attacked by Demogorgon.
Because what would happen then? Would Barb and Steve blame each other or learn to cooperate? Would they form an unlikely friendship, nothing based on attraction or popularity, but an alliance for the same goal - to rescue Nancy? Would they start as reluctant allies and progress to real friends, being able to lean on each other? And how would Nancy's family deal with the stakes? Would Mr. Wheeler still be allowed to be so disinterested or would he step up, become the person they all need?
All I mean is - Barb was a cheap option, no one except for Nancy looked for her and she was an outsider in the group from the beginning. The stakes would have been higher with other characters.
(but it's mostly me being disappointed that we couldn't see a potential cooperation between Steve and Barb, between the protector of the group and its conscience)

Feel Good Drag Part 3
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Chrissy Cunningham, Eddie Munson x OC (eventually)
Summary: Â Natalie and Eddie had been best friends for a few years since she moved to Hawkins. The pair had been inseparable...until Chrissy Cunningham came into the picture. Â
Trigger Warnings: Suicide attempt, overdose, Sexual Assault/rape
Notes: I decided not to really describe the OC so the reader can imagine them however they want. The only definite/clear describer (is that a word?) is that it is a she/her OC.
Part 1 Part 2

Oh hi. Iâve crawled out of my seasonal depression to finish this up. Shout out to @andvysâ (I hope you donât mind the tag) for getting me back in Eddie Munsonâs choke hold. Go read her stuff, its seriously amazing *chefs kiss*.
âYou kids realize it's my night off, right?â Jim Hopper leaned against the doorway of Natalieâs hospital room.
âSorry Chief.â Dustin got up and grabbed the journal from the bedside table. Eddie hadnât been able to open it again. âI have something I need you to look at.â He handed Hopper the journal and motioned for him to go out into the hallway.
Eddie sat on the edge of his chair, his right leg tapping in tune with his heart in his chest. The beep of the monitors and the hiss of the oxygen tank made him want to crawl out of his skin. He could hear Dustin and Hopper murmuring in the hallway, discussing the contents of the last page.
Eddie closed his eyes and grabbed Natâs hand. It was the first time he touched her since they found her in the bathroom. How could he have abandoned his best friend?
âHopper is gonna take care of it,â Dustin said. He sniffled as he sat back down in his chair, his eyes red and puffy.
Eddie nodded, grateful that his friend had called the police. He told Dustin, âYou should go home and get some sleep. Itâs been⌠what⌠almost 24 hours?â Eddie squinted at the clock on the wall, his eyesight blurry from exhaustion.
âSo should you.â
âNo, I canât,â Eddie shook his head. âIâm not going anywhere.â He gripped Nats' hand, wrapping his fingers around hers.
âThen Iâm staying too.â
After a few minutes of trying to get comfortable in his chair, Dustin let out a defeated huff. âFine. If it makes you feel better, Iâll go sleep on one of the couches in the waiting room. But thatâs as far as Iâm going.â
Eddie cracked a small smile. âThatâs good enough for me.â
With Dustin gone, the room felt overwhelming. His eyes filled with tears, and he found he didnât have the energy to hold them back.
âIâm sorry, Nat,â a sob wrenched itself from his chest. âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry.â
A loud thud woke Eddie. He shot up in his chair, trying to blink the sun that was pouring in from the window out of his eyes. He glanced at Nat, who was still unconscious. Another thud from behind him made him turn in his chair.
âWhat the fuck?â he wondered out loud.
Several boxes were stacked in the hospital room. A closer look told him they were from Natâs room. Eddie quickly realized the person tossing the boxes in the room was Nat's mom.
âWhat the fuck are you doing?â he growled.
She glared at Eddie. âDidnât you hear? My husband was arrested last night.â
Good; that is the least that should happen to him, Eddie thought. Instead, he said, âYeah, and? Â Shouldnât it be his boxes you are tossing out?â
She had the audacity to look shocked. âThe only reason he was arrested is that little slut,â she spat the word, âaccused him of raping her.â
Eddie shot out of his chair, kicking it away from him hard enough it slammed into the wall behind him with a loud clang. He took two big steps toward Natalie's mom, standing tall to look intimidating.
âYour daughter, your child, â he pointed behind him, âAlmost fucking died because that piece of shit raped her.â
Natâs mom was determined to hold her ground. âItâs a shame she didnât follow through,â she sneered. Clenching his fists, Eddie opened his mouth to speak just as Dustin appeared in the doorway, arms loaded with snacks and drinks from the vending machine down the hall.
âWhat⌠whatâs going on?â he asked innocently.
âSheâs just dropping off some of Natâs things,â Eddie replied through gritted teeth.
Dustin looked between Eddie, Natalieâs mom, and the boxes on the floor. It took him a few moments to read the room, but the realization hit him like a freight train, âOh.â
âShe was just leaving,â Eddie said bitterly.
Natâs mom dramatically dropped the last box in her hands and stomped out of the room.
Eddie didnât move as Dustin made his way into the room and dumped his haul onto the table under the window.
âYou okay?â Dustin asked.
âI canât⌠I canât believe we left her with them,â Eddie replied. The guilt was eating him alive. Dustin didnât reply, but Eddie knew he felt the same way.
âYou should eat something.â
âIâm not hungry,â Eddie shook his head. He grabbed his chair away from the wall, pulling it back to its spot next to Nat.
âI know, but you should still eat something,â he offered Eddie a small bag of pretzels and a can of coke.
Eddie hesitated for a moment but took the food. âThanks.â
He opened the bag, and the smell made his stomach growl quietly. He popped a couple of pretzels into his mouth and chewed slowly. He glanced over at the boxes Natalieâs mom brought, but even the sight of them made his stomach churn.
âWe should get these boxes out of here,â he said before he took a big gulp of soda, âI donât want Nat to see them when she wakes up.â
âI can call the guys to come and grab them.â Dustin had already gotten up to start calling.
âThey can take them to my place,â Eddie said.
As they began to discuss the details of where Natalieâs stuff would go, Gareth and Jeff knocked on her door.
âIs she doing okay?â Gareth asked.
âShe hasnât really changed,â Dustin explained.
âAnd her mom really dumped all her stuff here?â Jeff asked, shaking his head while he looked at the boxes.
âI heard Creeper Craig resisted arrest last night. The Chief took him in all black and blue, broken nose, and a few more missing teeth.â Gareth cracked a smile.
âThe least he deserves,â Eddie said while the others nodded in agreement.
Eddie helped them carry the boxes out to their car. It felt good to stretch his legs. He stood in the sun for a moment, the warmth spreading across his face, feeling the fresh air in his lungs.
âThatâs the last one,â Dustin announced, loading the final box in the trunk.
Eddie reached into his pocket and grabbed his keys, snaking the one for his trailer off the ring. âHere, just pile them inside and Iâll take care of it later.â He handed the key to Jeff.
âI'll go with them to drop everything off and come back,â Dustin explained, as he went to close the trunk.
âWait.â Something in the box caught Eddieâs eye. He took a couple of steps and grabbed the copy of The Hobbit he had gotten Nat for her last birthday. He used to read the book aloud to her in their downtime; Nat would snort with laughter when he would do the voices for the characters. Gollum was her favorite.
The memory made his throat tighten, and he fought back the tears that flooded his eyes.
Dustin looked at him sadly, âIâll be back soon, okay?â
Eddie just nodded. âOkay,â he echoed.
Back in the hospital room, Eddie laced his fingers with Natâs and gave her hand a squeeze. The heart monitor beeped steadily, and other than occasional footsteps in the hallway, the room was overwhelmingly quiet.
Using one hand, he opened the book that lay on his lap, his eyes scanning the note that he had written on the inside cover page. â Now someone else in Hawkins can read The Hobbit because you wonât have the library's only copy indefinitely checked out. Happy 18th birthday, Nat! Please note that I am always available to do my best Gollum voice. Love, Eddie.â
âLove, Eddie.â He traced his messy handwriting with a shaking finger. Â If this never-ending nightmare taught Eddie anything it was that he did love Natalie. Â But if he thought he didnât deserve her before...he sure as shit didnât deserve her now.
Clearing his throat, Eddie turned to the first page and read aloud, âIn a hole in the ground there lived a hobbitâŚâ
Natalie
Natalie wrinkled her nose, trying to get the feeling of air rushing into her nostrils to stop. She reached what felt like an extremely heavy hand to her face to try and push it away, but was met with hard plastic and tubing.
What the hell? she thought.
She opened her eyes and blinked a few times, looking around the room to get her bearings. When she realized she was in a hospital room, memories flooded back to her.
Craig. The smell of stale beer and old cigarettes. The bitter taste of the pills on her tongue. Eddie yelling in her ear while she vomited.
EddieâŚ
When her eyes found Eddie, her breath caught in her throat. He sat slouched in the chair next to her bed, a book lying open on his lap. His eyes were closed, and his mouth hung open slightly, a quiet snore escaping every few moments. She realized her left hand was firmly in his grip even though he was sound asleep.
She gave his hand a squeeze. Eddieâs eyes shot open.
âHi,â her voice was small and raspy.
âHi,â Eddie said breathlessly. He jerked forward to press the nurse call button.
âWait,â Nat croaked. âWe can call them in a minute, okay?â
Eddie nodded. He stood quickly and moved to the edge of the hospital bed, still holding Natâs hand. He stared down to where their fingers were laced together. She gave him a reassuring squeeze. When he finally looked at her, his eyes were glassy. He opened his mouth to say something, but all that came out was a quiet sob.
âIâm sorry, Eddie,â Nat started, but Eddie shook his head.
âNo,â his voice wavered a little. âNo, weâI, I abandoned you, Nat. I will never forgive myself for that. You have nothing, nothing to be sorry for.â
âI really missed you,â Natâs lower lip trembled.
Eddie nodded, leaned forward, and pressed his lips against her forehead.
âI missed you too,â he murmured. When he pulled away, he pressed his forehead to hers. His long hair fell around their faces, noses brushing against each other.
Nat heard hurried footsteps approaching her room. A nurse poked her head in and gasped.
âOh, you're awake!â she hurried in and pushed Eddie out of the way to start checking Natalie's vitals. It wasnât long before the doctor and another nurse came into the room.
âYouâll have to wait outside while we do some tests, okay?â one of the nurses pointed Eddie to the door.
âButââ Natalie started, feeling overwhelmed by the flurry of activity.
âItâs okay. Iâll be right outside, okay?â Eddie offered her a reassuring smile, but she knew he didnât want to leave either.
Trying not to panic, Natalie gave a quick nod and kept her eyes on Eddie until he was out of sight.
Eddie
Eddie paced the hallway while the nurses worked. Chief Hopper had also arrived a little while ago, and was no doubt asking Nat about what she had written in her journal.
âEddie!â Dustinâs voice was frantic; he came sprinting down the hallway. âEddie, whatâs wrong? Is it Nat? Is she okay?â Dustin skidded to a halt in front of Eddie.
Eddie opened his mouth to speak, but was cut off.
âSheâs okay. I think you guys are okay to go in now,â Hopper appeared in the doorway, while the last of the nurses filed out.. He smiled and patted Dustin on the shoulder and gave Eddie a quick nod. âIâll talk to you kids later, okay?â
Dustin took a deep breath, holding onto Eddie for support. âI saw you out here and I just thought⌠Iâm sorry I took so long, man, I wanted to do something for you and Nat.â
âItâs okay; you came back just in time,â Eddie steered Dustin into Natâs room.
âYouâre awake?!â Dustin yelped and ran to the bed, nearly dive-bombing Nat.
Eddie leaned against the door frame while he watched Dustin give Natalie a tight hug. His chest felt lighter than it had the last couple of days, but anxiety still gnawed at the back of his mind.
âThey said I can probably go home tomorrow afternoon,â Natâs voice was beginning to sound normal again.
âSo soon?â Dustin asked, surprised.
âIt depends on bloodwork. You know, make sure things are improving, but they think I can recover better at home.â
HomeâŚ
Eddie chewed on his bottom lipâhow was he going to tell her about her mom?
âWhy are your faces like that?â Nat asked slowly, looking between Dustin and Eddie. Only then did Eddie realize Dustin looked suddenly ill.
âWell,â Dustin started, but Eddie cut him off.
âWhy donât you go home, Dust? Take a shower, sleep in a real bed.â He took a step into the room while Nat continued to stare at them suspiciously.
Dustin nodded, gave Nat another big hug, and murmured that he would see her tomorrow.
Eddie sat slowly down on the bed next to Nat. âSo, tomorrow, when you get discharged, youâll come back to my place.â He wasnât sure how else to say it, other than bluntly.
âWhy?â
âYour mom,â Eddie struggled to find the right way to tell her, as he stared at his hands. âYour mom kicked you out.â
He glanced at Nat but found her face was nearly impossible to read. âOh.â
âBut itâs okay, though. We got all your stuff over at my place.â He suddenly wondered if she wouldnât want to stay with him. âIt will be close quarters, but we will be fine.â
âWhat about Chrissy?â
âNot a factor,â Eddie said simply.
Eddie and Natalie sat in silence for a long moment. âEddie?â
âYeah?â
âDo you know why I got kicked out?â she asked quietly.
Eddie looked at her sadly, âYes. We found your journal. We had to tell someone.â
Natâs lower lip started to quiver. âSo then⌠you know everything?â
Eddie nodded, and Nat found she couldnât look at him and turned her head to face away from him.. Â Part of her felt ridiculous that she felt more upset that this was how Eddie found out about her feelings for himâsomething that was ruined now. If Eddie suddenly felt any different it would be out of pity. Â She tried to blink back the tears but they came anyway.
:âHey,â Eddie said softly, grabbing her hand, âLook at me.â
Nat slowly turned her head to face Eddie, her eyes red and puffy from crying. Eddie gently wiped away her tears with his thumb and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.
âIâm sorry,â Nat said, her voice trembling. âI didnât mean for you to find out like this.â
Eddie smiled softly. âHey, donât apologize, you have nothing to be sorry for.  I just wishâŚI wish I had told you soonerâŚâ
âTell me what?â Â Nat sniffed, confused.
â I think part of the reason I fell so hard down the Chrissy rabbit hole was because I was trying so hard to ignore how I felt about you.â
Natâs eyes widened in surprise. âWhat do you mean?â
Eddie took a deep breath. âWhat I mean isâI think I had,  have , feelings for you too, Nat. But I buried those feelings down so far because youâve been trying so hard to get out of HawkinsâŚI didnât want to be the reason why you got stuck hereâ
Natâs heart skipped a beat. âYou⌠you do?â
Eddie nodded, his eyes meeting hers. âI do.â
A smile slowly spread across Natâs face as she realized what Eddie was saying, but then her smile faltered a little, âYou arenât just saying that because of what happened are you?â
Eddie shook his head, âIâm sorry I didnât just tell you, and Iâm sorry it took all this for me to pull my head out of my ass and tell you.â
They sat there for a moment, hands intertwined, both feeling the weight of the unspoken feelings they had been carrying for so long finally lifted off their shoulders.
âSo, what now?â Nat asked.
Eddie grinned. âNow, we take things one step at a time. We donât have to rush into anythingâonce you are ready we will figure it all out.â
Nat smiled back at him. âI like the sound of that.â
Natalie
Nat was grateful when she got to leave the hospital the following afternoon. Â Despite everything she was excited to get back to Eddieâs trailer and start trying to heal. Â The ride was quiet and being awkward with Eddie was not a familiar feeling, but she knew Eddie was just as nervous as she was.
Right before Eddie turned into the trailer park, she heard him swear under his breath.
âWhat?â She asked, glancing at him.
âNothing, I was just thinking I should have come back this morning while you were sleeping and gotten the place cleaned up a little bit. Â And got your stuff put awayâI didnât want you coming home to a pile of your stuff in boxes.â
âItâs okay,â Nat reassured him, âReally, we can get everything put away later.â
As they got closer to Eddieâs trailer Natâs anxiety started to gnaw at her gut, despite reminding herself that she had Eddie had practically lived together up until a month or so ago, but now with their feelings out in the open, everything was different.
âWhat theââ Eddieâs voice pulled her out of her thoughts as they pulled into the parking spot in front of the trailer. Â Nat couldnât believe she hadnât noticed the balloons until now.
âDustin.â They said in unison, grinning at eachother.
Sure enough, Dustin and the others were waiting outside with Eddieâs Uncle Wayne.
âWelcome home!â Dustin practically bounced to the van and opened Natâs door and pulled her out.
âThanks, Dustin.â
âHey kid, long time no seeâ Uncle Wayne greeted Nat warmly and pulled her in for a quick hug.
âCan we go inside now?â Dustin asked excitedly.
Uncle Wayne chucked, âThe boy has a big surprise for you and Nat.â he patted Eddie on the shoulder and steered him to the front door.
âGareth and Jeff helped too!â Dustin ran ahead of them and opened the door .âAnd Mike. They wanted to be here to welcome you home but Waybe was worried about it being too overwhelming.â
Nat quietly agreed, while her eyes scanned the trailer. One of the first things Nat noticed was that the trailer was spotless, not that it was dirty, but Wayne worked long, hard hours, and Eddie wasâŚwell, Eddie.
âI figured since this was your place now too, we should get our act together,â Wayne explained as Nat looked around.
âYou didnât have to,â Nat said sincerely. Â Even at its worst, the trailer was always more comforting and felt like home more than her own did.
âCome on,â Dustin said excitedly, as he grabbed Natâs hand and pulled her back to Eddieâs room. Nat grabbed Eddie's hand as she brushed past him, grinning.
âAre you ready?â Dustin asked, hand on the doorknob to the bedroom.
âTo see my own room? Â The room Iâve lived in for the past 10 years? I think Iâm ready.â Eddie asked, rolling his eyes.
âI get the feeling you arenât ready,â Dustin replied, vibrating with excitement.
âWell, Iâm ready.â Nat laughed, âOpen it on up.â
As Nat looked around, she noticed that everything had been organized and tidied up. The clothes that were once piled up in a corner were now folded and hung up, and the posters that once hung crookedly on the wall were now straight and even. The closet door which could never close due to its contents perpetually spilling from it was latched firmly in place. Â Eddieâs bed which was just a mattress on the floor was now an actual bed, with extra space underneath for their things. Along the far wall, she noticed an army cot was neatly made up.
Nat felt a sense of warmth and gratitude wash over her as she realized how much effort Wayne, Dustin, and the others had put into making her new home feel welcoming and comfortable.
âWow, this is amazing,â Nat said, turning to Wayne and Dustin with a smile. âThank you so much for doing all of this.â
âOf course,â Wayne replied, smiling back at her. âWe wanted to make sure you felt at home here.â
âItâs definitely homier,â Eddie added, chuckling. âThanks, guys.â
Dustin beamed with pride at their reactions, clearly happy to have helped out. âGlad you like it,â he said.
Nat felt a sense of contentment wash over herâshe felt like she was finally home.

The funniest thing Stranger Things could do is reveal that Steveâs parents are like, really liberal. They donate to AIDs research. They were arrested protesting the Vietnam War. They campaigned for Mondale. Steve tells them that Nancy broke up with him and theyâre like, âThank god, that family believes in Reaganomics.â

it's been years and it's still genuinely crazy to me that the first two seasons of stranger things had this throughline where all the bad things that were happening in hawkins were directly caused by the us government and that they were excusing the awful things they were doing to their own citizens (children!) through cold war/red scare reactionism. and then in season three there was a secret russian base under the town mall.

who is your favorite AA character? đď¸đď¸
ziska⌠I hope capcom brings her back someday
#shes cool as fuck to me bc when I first played jfa I found her really frustrating to deal with#not just as Phoenix but I mean like on a personal level she is challenging because sheâs so thorough#and yet I also find it fascinating that she breaks the character sheâs built for herself once in a while#i 100% believe that I donât think she would have caught on to what Phoenix was trying to do while stalling for time with engardes trial#so itâs probably a good thing edgeworth subbed in but she literally busts her ass to bring evidence to court#almost right after having a bullet extracted from her WHICH SHE ALSO PRESENTS AS EVIDENCE. thats metal as fuck ok#especially since she would technically have nothing to do with the case after edgeworth fills in and she still decided to do that anyway#maybe it was blind faith to use that evidence to win since she wasnât there for most of the trial but still#and even if canon doesnât give it to me I still firmly believe thereâs be at least some chemistry between her and Maya#like especially if you hold it next to wrightworth that works bc thereâs already a history there and majority of Phoenix and miles trying#to relearn their relationship is Phoenix coaxing out that side of Miles that he remembers from fourth grade#but with Franmaya itâs something new and theyâre basically strangers to each other and one of them almost got the other convicted#and I still think thatâs fascinating and itâs a damn shame thay half of the fics I find for them on ao3 is background in wrightworth fic#i did find a good one that touched on Franziska trying to win pearls approval because Pearl does hold a grudge against her#and seeing that trying to live up to perfecting even her personal relationships without getting to know Pearl to even know#why it wasnât working feels believable when I think abt her as a character yk#myart#my art#doodles#aa#ace attorney#franziska von karma

To me itâs the fact that Steve assumed Robin had a license but still woke up 3 hours before his work shift to drive her to school everyday.
That is not a plot hole everybody, that is just the kind of person Steve Harrington is.
#you dont understand#what a great friend Steve is#this is the main reason why I donât want his story to revolve again around Nancy#itâs him and Robin and they have the greatest friendship in the show#these two mf will get married and live together and itâs going to be 10000% platonic#if you look up platonic soulmates in the dictionary SBAM just pictures of Stobin#Im done bye#steve harrington#platonic stobin#robin buckley#stranger things

Ok so I saw a post about Steve as a teacher letting his kids control his Spotify which means his Wrapped is All Over The Place but the top artist is Corroded Coffin and Steve finds out from the thank-you video that Eddie is hot. I see it, I love it, itâs inspired.
Iâm thinking something⌠a little different.
âAlright, class!â Steve calls. âMarcus, itâs your turn to choose the music, right?â
âActually, Mr. H?â Amber pipes up. âSpotify Wrapped came out today!â
Steve blinks. âSpotify⌠what?â
Marcus is nodding. âSpotify Wrapped! It tallies up what youâve listened to and gives you stats and stuff. Itâs cool!â
âAh,â Steve says, nodding, squinting at his computer. âAnd I see that⌠how?â
Thereâs a cacophony of noise until Steve holds up a hand. Everyone quiets, and Becky holds her hand up. He nods at her. âItâs at the top,â she says softly. âWhere your recently played is.â
He smiles at her. âThank you, Becky.â He navigates to it, clicking on it and letting the graphic play.
Their genre, apparently, is soft grass indie metal. Heâs entirely sure thatâs made up. Their top artist, making up sixty-four percent of the music they listened to, is Corroded Coffin.
Thereâs a video; a little thank-you the band put together. It starts with Eddie up front, as the lead singer. Gareth, Jeff, and Freak are slightly behind him, grinning at the camera. Steve recognizes the background as Jeffâs living room. âHi!â Eddie starts. âThanks so much for listening to our music this year.â
âWe couldnât do what we do without you,â Gareth adds on.
âAnd everything we do is for you!â Jeff says.
âItâs totally metal of you to listen to our music, and we appreciate it!â Freak finishes. They all wave, and the camera cuts off.
Steve is⌠gobsmacked. He loves his husband, truly, but he looks so uncomfortable, and the way heâs speaking is weirdly stilted. He was not made to stand still.
He shakes his head, knowing heâs about to make Eddieâs year, and blow these kidsâ minds.
Eddie had always been more vocal than Steve about coming out, saying fuck it to the consequences. Maybe being gay was accepted in the metal community, but Steve had been too new in his current job to even think about the jeopardy this could put his career in.
But honestly. That video was terrible, and his kids deserve better.
He sighs, raises a hand to get the classâs attention. âI know that was cool,â he chuckles. âBut if you can be quiet and patient, I could get you something even cooler.â
âCooler than a video from Corroded Coffin?â Nick asks.
Steve tilts his head. âCooler than that video, at least.â
Nick doesnât look convinced. âAre you sure?â
Steve just smiles. âHow about we find out?â He puts a finger to his lips and FaceTimes Eddie.
He makes sure his volume is low, enough so that he even has trouble hearing when Eddie picks up.
âBaby!â Eddie exclaims, then clocks the background and is instantly worried. âWait, youâre still at work. Are you okay? Is everything okay? Did you hit your head again? Do I need to come get you?â
âChrist, youâre dramatic,â Steve mutters, grinning wide. âIâm fine. Iâm with my class, and we just finished looking at our Spotify Wrapped. Guess who our number one artist for the year was.â
Eddieâs eyes sparkle. He grins. Steve nods. âCorroded Coffin,â he confirms, then sighs. âI have to say, though, I was a little disappointed by the video.â
Eddie groans, throwing his head back. Steve gets a great view up his husbandâs nose. âI know! I know, it sucked, but the guys were happy with it and it was, like, our eighth go, and-â
âI get it,â Steve promises. âBut how would you like to one-up it?â
It takes Eddie a second, but his eyes gleam. âAre you sure? Your career-â
âIs stable enough now,â Steve finishes. âIâm sure. If you are.â
âFuck,â Eddie mouths, conscientious of Steveâs class. âI love you.â
Steve smiles, blows a kiss to the camera. He gets a smattering of awws from some of his female students.
He figures out how to connect his phone to his computer to the screen, pushes the volume button up, and nods. âGo, Eds.â
Eddie grins and waves at the screen. âHi, Mr. Harringtonâs class! Iâve heard so much about you guys. Itâs totally metal that youâre listening to our musicâthatâs something your teacher neglected to tell me.â He grins at the screen, a private thing for Steve, who dutifully rolls his eyes.
âI hear your music every day, Eds, forgive me if I donât think anything of it when I hear it here and at home.â
âMr. H,â Nathan asks in a pseudo-whisper, âhow the hell do you know Eddie Munson?â
Eddie bursts out in a laugh. âYou must be Nathan,â he says.
Nathan goes white, then pink. âH-hi, Mr. Munson, sir.â
âI think you should be their teacher,â Steve says, grinning first at Eddie, then his class. âI donât think Iâve ever heard Nathan say sir before.â
Everyone laughsâincluding Nathanâand Eleanor raises her hand. âHow do you know him?â
Steve takes a breath, glances at his phone. Eddieâs smiling patiently at him, and Steveâs own smile grows as he answers her. âIâm his husband,â he tells her.
âTen years and counting!â Eddie crows. âThough weâve known each other for⌠twenty⌠something.â
Steve chuckles. âTwenty-three, Eds. If you count high school, which I donât.â
âBut I do,â Eddie nods. âTwenty-three years. And counting.â
Steve chuckles again. âAnd counting,â he agrees.
As his room explodes into noise, he looks back at his phone to find Eddie already looking at him.
Thatâs the way it goes, he thinks. Eddie saw him the whole time. It took Steve a while to catch up, but now that he has, heâs never been happier.
Twenty-three years and counting, indeed.

What about Steve being a huge Corroded Coffin fan without knowing what the band members look like? Him meeting Eddie thinking he's just a regular guy and then they fall in love.
One day Steve plays one of their songs and is nodding his head and mumbling the words and Eddie is just surprised that he hasnt realized who hes dating. Steve even says that the singer kinda sounds like Eddie.
Steve only finds out when someone takes a picture of them and he sees himself online with the captain "lead guitarist of Corroded Coffin has a boyfriend?" Steve is all shocked and then Googles what the lead guitarist looks like and just sees thousands of pictures of Eddie
#why didnt eddie say anything?#because he thought it was funny#this is based on the fact i literally dont know what any band members look like#stranger things#steve harrington#eddie munson#steddie#laine writes

Post-Starcourt Steve and Robin needing to get the hell out of the mall parking lot and being like, âI have this friend. Heâs close.â
Cut to Eddie standing at his bedroom door, holding his guitar like an axe because heâs pretty sure someone just broke into his house and is going to murder him. When he busts out the door holding a lamp above his head (didnât want to break his guitar), he nearly bludgeons a couple of puke covered ice cream sailors.
After they all stop screaming, Steve looks at the lamp and nudges it like, âLighten up, man.â
Eddie: What are you doing here?
Steve: Relax, my friend lives here.
Eddie: I live here
Steve: Are you my friend? No??? Then Iâm talking about someone else. Duh. *makes a gesture to Robin like âthis guy.â*
Robin, making the same gesture back: We are going to sleep on your couch.
Eddie: âŚAre you guys high?
Steve & Robin, after considerable thought: A little.
#Wayne gets off night shift and Eddieâs like: you have some explaining to do#wayne: is that Steve? what happen to âem?#Eddie: Thatâs not the most important issue here Wayne!#More content where Wayne and Steve know each other outside of Eddie#eddie munson#steve harrington#robin buckley#stranger things
