Stranger Things' Eddie Munson returns for a "heartfelt send-off" that tells the origin of the Hellfire Club in a new Dungeons & Dragons crossover comic | GamesRadar+
Wish this was coming out earlier as I expect the show will be over by winter of next year, but I'm glad Eddie is getting his own comic! I'm also glad they're doing a sequel to Stranger Things Dungeons & Dragons, which was one of the better comics in the series.

Revisit Eddie Munson in 'Stranger Things & Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire'
Eddie Munson is back, well at least in comic book form. The Stranger Things beloved D&D Dungeon Master is featured in the new prequel series from Dark Horse Stranger Things & Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire. Issue #1 of 4 starts off this prequel of Season 4 of Stranger Things. Written by Jody Houser and Eric Campbell, the illustrations are by Diego Galindo, with colors by Diana…

Not to mention the Duffers break the #1 rule of any good D&D game, which every single player across the globe knows: You never split the Party.
One of the major reasons their plot collapses in on itself so violently after S2 is because they lose that sacred group dynamic. Dustin’s enthusiasm can’t help push Lucas or Will into action, and Will’s levelheaded nature can’t positively influence Mike or Dustin. Max’s aggression can’t be tempered by El’s earnest joy and curiosity, and El’s sense of individualism can’t be developed without Will or Max.
By breaking the plots into little chunks and pitting different factions/characters against each other for dramatic effect, the Duffers have lost touch with the most base element of Dungeons and Dragons, an idea that was previously the Stranger Things thesis statement: A team can only be successful when it works together and combines the diverse skills of each individual into one unified force.
The thing about how shitty Mike and Dustin are to Lucas in S4 is, well lots of stuff, but in particular. He didn't pick a clique over them, they very much did that to him.
He was still part of Hellfire club, he was part of the campaign up to the last session, he was in their club picture. He just also joined basketball. They’re the ones who picked a side.
Mike was growing out his hair to look like Eddie. I don’t on any level believe that Dustin genuinely likes metal, he was doing that to fit in with his new friends. At the end of the day a Hellfire shirt is every bit as conformist as a letterman jacket.
It could have been an interesting look at navigating high school dynamics, but the duffers don't do that. They do Jocks Bad, Nerds Good.
