Omg, would it be funny if I would have made a asura and make them the legionnaire of storm warband.
I NEED TO MAKE THIS A THING!
Nicknaming then, Legionnaire Lunaris, but the warband calls her Luna cause she’s a daredevil with a very long list of those who have wronged her and her family.
Also, forgot to mention that her charr companions think of her at their cub so they can’t say no to her even when they try to.

I don't have anything specific on my mind right meow, but care to ramble a bit about whoever has your attention the most right now? (@commanderhorncleaver)
I almost didn't catch the "right meow" and I want you to know that asld;kjfadf (and tyty for the ask! :D)
This isn't going to be an answer for a specific person, but I've been thinking a lot about how lost literally everyone in the Storm Warband is after they split apart. Not just sad or devastated, but specifically lost.
Ari joins the Order of Whispers, originally in an attempt to help her captured 'bandmates, but ends up just drifting through her version of everyday life for a while because she doesn't know what to do if she can't help them.
Brook and Casca both get out of captivity on their own eventually, but separately and not together--they each think the other's dead. Brook basically full-on starts walking and doesn't stop until they end up in the Sandswept Isles, and Casca eventually falls into mercenary work out of having nothing better to do.
Lifa, the only member to stay in the Legions, goes through three different warbands in the next ten years--mostly not her fault, but she's also desperately searching for some sort of place to belong or way to make an impression on someone higher up the chain than her.
Weylon, who's the reason all of this happened at all, doesn't find the glory and recognition he was hoping for in the Flame Legion. He's under the thumb of someone he hates, but puts his head down and deals with it by continuing to follow his new orders while feeling worse and worse about himself and his choices.
And Pol, the one who died, wanders the Mists for years on his own.
They do all end up with at least some resolution to this and most of them are doing better nowadays, but...yeah, it was Bad All Around for everyone.

4, 7, 19 and 33 for any warband you'd like!
4. What is the warband's specialization?
The Storm Warband, to which my elementalist Speratus belongs, specializes in dealing with infiltrators, sappers, and spies. This has not done Speratus any favors with his innate paranoia.
7. What's their motto, goal, or motivation?
Their goal/motivation is to root out corruption or sabotage within the charr ranks, especially from non-charr allies.
19. What's the overall social dynamic in the warband like? (chill and friendly, hard and hierarchical, like family, etc.)
They're very much a military unit and while there's a bit of familial undercurrent, there's also definitely a "we're a specialized and trained force and we need to work smoothly and effectively no matter what". So when Speratus started getting more unstable and paranoid, he was "weeded out" by the more serious members. Even though most of them were worried about him as a warband member, they were also worried just as much about the detriment of his unpredictability on their missions.
33. Bonus question: TRIVIA TIME!!!
All of the survival knowledge and camping info that Speratus knows, he learned from Ascilianus Stormdancer, one of "The Twins". The only member who spoke out against sending Speratus on leave was Fulvious Spiritstorm, the warband's resident necromancer and the only other strictly magical member of the group.

I do not get why the Red Corsairs are not a popular choice.
Like.
Like here is the elevator pitch for the warband and then we can come to some justified conclusion.
Tumblr media
What isn't there to love?
You want me to turn into an infomencial and make a top 3 reasons why the Red Corsairs are great?
Cause I can.
And I will.
Tumblr media
The Diverse Working Enviroment
Here in the Red Corsairs we might have started as Ultramarines but the barrier for entry is on the floor. So anyone can join.
You are Night Lord with a bad rep and no ship.
Buckle up we got you covered.
You are a Fallen and have 20 Dark Angels all up in yo business? Trying to shoot down the boss babe you are?
Fear not, or in our case. Know no Fear. We are strapped and don't get clapped.
You are a traitor that likes their Legion but sadly you got in our way?
Tough luck buddy, you will join or die and your geene seed will join our cause. Nothing personal battle brother. Just business as usual.
Everyone is welcome as long as they follow Huron's guidelines and don't aggitate the topless sweaty Khorne worshipping Ultramarines in the basement.
Tumblr media
Sustainability
Unlike the corrupt Imperium of man and the corpse Emperor our leader is powered by miracles (which is trully a miracle how he survived but that on the next section), and we use 0 psyckers to power our crap.
Our carbon footprint is also minimum as we use salvaged goods and don't indulge in toxic industries that destroy worlds.
The Red Corsair base of operation is in the Eye of Terror and from there we expand our scope. A place greatly known for its constant shifts, and horrible conditions but the tan our serfs have are spectacullar from all that cosmic radiation.
Finally we are commited to recycling. As in we take from our victims benefactors and put those stolen goods to some great use. Nothing goes to waste, neither mortal, nor static object. If something is not nailed on the floor we will take it.
In fact we might take the floor too and the nails used to set it in place.
Nothing goes to waste!
Tumblr media
Unmatched Leadership
Last, but certainly not least.
The man.
The myth.
The Legend.
Huron Blackheart.
Aka Lufgt Huron.
Aka what would happen if we gave a compressed Guilliman a daemonic familiar and left him to ferment in a warp storm.
Not only the name is so edgy you might cut yourself by saying it out loud. But also it's complex enough that if you say it quickly three times without twisting your tongue theres is a chance furniture might start levitating.
The man has put his Ultramarine brain to use and amased enough influence and power to put the Black Legion to shame.
Huron went from 0 to 100 in no time, he is a self made Warmaster. With no daddy issues or troubles in the world, he goes into battle blasting Alestorm in the voxxcasters.
He does not care.
Tumblr media
He probably wears this when he wants to relax.
You think he cares?
He does not care.
He has a biker gang specifically organized to hunt down those who have betrayed him.
Tumblr media
They slap those things on their armors not for the usual biker reason
(which fun fact the meaning is, 99% of the bikers are law-abiding, where the 1% are not. That's where the 1% comes from. The more you know 🌈)
no they wear that 1% because that's how high are your chances of escaping from them are.
Is that a bit extreme?
Yes.
You think he cares?
He does not care.
The dude once gathered his buddies and decided...
to you know. Have a casual outing. Nothing too serious, it was a sunday afteral.
So they decided on.
Kidnapping Guilliman.
Which they almost did if not for a Fallen of all people getting in the way.
But still.
The mad lad took Macragge's Honour and went on a joyride/ mini civil war.
Who in the galaxy can turn and say.
Yeah, I stole Macragge's Honour, almost captured my old Primarch. Told a daemon prince they are irrelevant on my way there. Anyway after crushing a fool who thought he could take my crown as king of the space pirates, I went to the home planet of the White Scars and kidnapped and tortured their Chapter Master. What did you do this week? 💅
Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?
You tell me I can be an immortal, gorgeous chaos Ultramarine goth boy going on pirate adventures across the galaxy?
Where do I sign up?
I don't need ink for a signature.
I will use my own blood.

Dungeon: The Bleakfather’s Throne
The world is heavy here, cold knaws at the bones of your companions making every step forward a struggle and the desolate wind sounds like a lamentation. Coming over the rise you see it, the regal corpse that rivals the surrounding mountains for imposing grandeur, the source of this dread season that seeks to smother all good things beneath its sorrow.
Not all archfey are tricksters or stag-crowned gentry. Like the realm they inhabit, they embody stories, emotions, and the strongest aspects of nature.  The Bleakfather is an aspect of winter at it’s most cruel and deadly, as well as the sorrow that saps the will to go on living, all too common in those long, dark months. For ages untold he has sat his mountain-hewn throne, mummified by the cold winds of his domain as the depths of his misery chokes every spark of life from the land.
So titanic in size, the bleakfather’s throne is itself a fortress inhabited by ice giants who claim decent from the archfey and raid in his name. They fear their father’s stirring from his glacial malaise, and so listen for his voice on the wind and scour the surrounding lands for any note of happiness that would defy the tyrant’s sorrowful reign.
Adventure Hooks:
With his eyes on becoming Jarl of the Bleakfather’s Children, an upstart Jotunn by the name of Talfjarn has assembled a warband and is going raiding in the realm of mortals, hunting the coast on longships the size of wargalleys with an enchanted storm at their back. Though he’s willing to crack towns open in the hopes of gathering pillage and slaves, he’s heard tell of a dragon slumbering somewhere up river that he wishes to test his mettle against.
The giants have constructed a great temple in the vault of their father’s sword hand, where the trophies of great battles are heaped and the haunted wind howls between his pillar like fingers. Here there shamans divine the Bleakfather’s will, and listen for disturbances that might dare wake him.  Unluckily for our heroes, a celebration they attended ended up getting rowdy enough that its echoes were heard all the way in the feywild..and now a squad of towering winter warriors will be showing up to crash the party and put an end to their good times.
There is power in mythology. It’s said in years beyond counting that the Bleakfather destroyed the ancient dwarven kingdom in order to steal a relic of great beauty upon which the dwarven lords and ladies swore their oath. Seeking to reunite the warring clans, a would-be hero has set her sights on breaking into the archfey’s vaults and taking back the relic.  It’s only after the party aid her in this daring task that they realize that her advisor had a very different end in mind: Waking the Bleakfather and letting him rampage through the material plane in a jealous rage, to better clear the way for a new order with the advisor at its head.

What's your favourite successor chapter for each of the original legions?
I'm gonna include warbands in here, for obvious reasons. Anyway.
Dark Angels: Don't have one, don't much like them.
Emperor's Children: Flawless Host (they take SO many drugs).
Iron Warriors: Don't have one, like them all generally.
White Scars: Storm Lords (cool paint scheme).
Space Wolves: Blood Wolves (they turned to Khorne, I approve).
Imperial Fists: Celestial Lions (they have a neat story).
Night Lords: Don't have one, like them all generally.
Blood Angels: Lamenters (constant dick-kickings for trying to do the right thing).
Iron Hands: Star Dragons (Cool af aesthetic, religious tones).
World Eaters: Axes of the Forge (they have lots of Darkmech stuff).
Ultramarines: Fire Hawks (they kept catching fire and it was funny).
Death Guard: Corpsemakers (they hate buildings specifically and it's hilarious).
Thousand Sons: Tizcan Host (they think they've been reborn as angels and it's... interesting).
Black Legion: Don't have one, don't much like them.
Word Bearers: Don't have one, like them all generally.
Salamanders: Dark Krakens (ocean planet, OCEAN PLANET).
Raven Guard: Imma be real with you, these fuckers are like the Dark Angels in that I find their successors incredibly same-y.
Alpha Legion: Sons of the Hydra (vicious and resourceful little bastards).

Hello its Cuckoo.
Totally fine with waiting and I appreciate the update.
I will admit my last ask did slant a bit more romantic.
So I've brought full fluff with this. How I perceive legions react to receiving unconditional love and care from human(s) in the husbandry altered earth.
Disclaimer: I don't know all the successor chapters so I'm going broad strokes.
Baseline: All marines Chaos, Renegade or Loyal, Do feel displaced. They're all just some level between coping and thriving.
Blood Angels - Honestly not too bad. They were a decently kind legion before and they still are. There is worry about their previous location but also!! There's so much time for art now, and these humans don't venerate them as untouchable so they can actually be More social. Not to mention their humans are willing to aid in their dietary needs.
Rating: Doing crayon drawings with your bonded's youngling while dinner cooks. Life is good.
Imperial Fist - Coping to okay. The most important part of a fortress are the ones who built and man it. And they can't man their fortresses if they're not in the same bloody timeline as them! Still though, so much in need of fortification Here too.
Rating: Coming home to find your Imperial Fist turned your home into a seige proof fortress cause they got separation anxiety while you were at work. Hugs inside their panic room storm cellar are mandatory for the rest of the night.
Thousand Sons - What do you Mean no human here has magic!?!? Utterly baffled by the absence of Psychers. Humans here are even more fragile than back home! Also one of the most aware that the warp is doing something fucky to make this happen. Unbonded TSs are studying this phenomena as much as they can. Bonded ones are studying their humans for latent magic. They are enjoying the many mythological/occult books and paraphernalia available.
Rating: Being coerced into always picking magic themed movies for movie night but not really minding as the way your Thousand Son takes intense focused notes and gets you in on the pantomime is endearing.
Night Lords - What is Wrong!? With!? These!? Humans!? Utterly Baffled that humans here are brave enough to approach them. Did their silhouettes not strike FEAR in the hearts of entire militaries!? Did the mere whisper of their name not bring entire planets into compliance!? Did they not- Wait what are you doing? What is this!?
Affection.
Disgusting
...Okay
...I did not tell you to stop.
Rating: Spooky Scary Tsunderes
Salamanders: Best Day EEEEEEEEVER!!! They are SO happy. There's so much GOOD they can do here. Help the elderly cross the streets, aid lost children, torch human killer warbands into ash...finger painting. And the forging, The Forging! Showing these humans a proper 40th millenia forge (or as close as possible) and there are so many who want to learn! They have a whole new interconnected family to look after and only occasional minor life and death situations.
Rating: Finger painting with the daycare children while your bonded who works there buzzes around giving out snacks and compliments, before the group switches to forge practice. Vulcan Would be Proud.
Emperors Children/Noise Marines: Putting these in the same blurb because they're cut from the same cloth. They both love art of all kinds. Its just the type of art in question. Emperors Children are drawn to classic mediums, while Noise Marines skew more modern. Both groups also partake in much Much primping. Beauticians to special effects make up artists find themselves the muses of EC/NM. EC's are more concerned by the current situation, but they can't deny this Terra has many experiences to offer. And so many cute humans who adore their attention and beauty treatments. It's really quite gratifying. The Noise Marines are much more go with the flow. This world is ripe with new sensations and they're eager to indulge, especially in the music scene. Even if these settlements pale in comparison to those of their universe they still have excellent entertainments like bars, dance clubs and Skating Rinks.
Rating: Having a back and forth home spa day/makeup session with your EC/NM while listening to ya'lls favorite playlist. Then tearing up the dance floor when you go out that night.
Iron Warriors: What is this?
Affection?
... ... what's the catch?
None, you already fixed and improved every appliance in my house. I never even knew things could run so efficiently you did an amazing job!
... ...
You okay?
... fine (literally bursting with joy but has No idea how to handle it and will Not show it.)
Whats that, Appreciation? Legitimate thank yous? Downright basic human decency. Every Iron Warrior is waiting to be pinched, cause this Must be a dream.
So many millenia of doing all the empire's Worst Jobs. So many times they were derided for their brutality, yet they were leaned on for it. They could be nothing else.
But here, Here! In this bizarre Terra, they can be...anything! Forgemasters, engineers, artists, architects, anything! Anything and everything! After so long of getting the imperium's short stick, and then falling into the rot of chaos, Finally they are given what they've always desired. And they will Not allow Anything to take this happiness away be it Chaos or Loyalist.
Rating: (thinking about everybody in their old universe while holding their bonded human for cuddle time) Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, hate you slightly less, fuck you...
Thank you for understanding I really like what you wrote but yeah it leans heavily into the "non canon" canon of Husbandry (GOD DAMN IT I MIGHT JUST HAVE TO MAKE A LEWD HUSBANDRY AU TAG)
SO I love this. And I kinda agree! Though some of these are a bit memey/community fueled slants but honestly legion stereotypes kinda have a curl of truth to them.
EC in my headcanon also make a lot of the clothes as everybody came in just their armor so they make the clothes.
Night Lords are very on point. They never said to stop. And when they bond they bond HARD sure they might act tsundere but they crave that bond.
Iron Warriors are completely on point. Continue to praise them they will siege and burn down everything for their humans.
I love your depiction of these. Do you have more ideas?

Orteas lingers in one of the quieter workshops in the base. Though anyone else would call it a fortress. They aren't wrong but the Blood Angels that hold control over this area have some (many) restrictions in place for Chaos and Space Marines after some rivalries between Warbands led to numerous targeted attacks at one of the then fortresses. Though the Blood Angels typically try not to interfere so long as the humans are safe, they had to step in after an attack revealed numerous massive ammunition stockpiles hidden in the various bases.
Since then there were strict rules to better ensure the safety of the humans living in the city. It led to some reconstruction and renovations for them but it's more than easy for them to turn their fortress into something that doesn't look like a fortress. The Blood Angels themselves actively close an eye to what he and his brothers simply cover up and hide.
Orteas hums softly as he works on the delicate and tiny pieces, making sure every piece is in it's right place and works correctly. He turns the tiny dials on the side. Oh he would never do this for any other human, but it was his human that asked.
His human who is also currently sleeping in his quarters in the base. He can still hear the storm going on outside, much too heavy for either of them to go back to her home right now. He trusts her not to wander off to restricted areas and that none of his brothers would be nosy enough to try to disturb her while she's resting.
He looks at the watch on the table. It's thin hands move smoothly. He had noticed her stop wearing it about a few days ago. With how much she loves it, of course he would notice. Oh he found out why when he found the broken thing and her search history for local watchmakers. Pff, he can fix it for her himself. For free even!

Storm Soldier (Monster)
Tumblr media
(Art by Anonynmous)
(I considered playing coy with my inspiration here, but let's be clear with it- this a fantasy 40k Space Marine, played not as protagonists but as tragic yet terrifying monsters for the more humanist playgroups most of my RPG experience belongs to. Statting them up as monsters, in my mind, helps distance players from the power fantasy of it; if you ever wanted a ragtag pack of underdogs to bring those marty stu marines down a peg, well, here's a monster to kill! And you if you want a sad little war machine your players can adopt and deprogram, it's the same deal.
By the way, I have them statted up as scattered force that can be dropped into any setting, but I'd love to use them as the terrifying enforcers of one of the more powerful political players in a world, like they are in 40k.)
CR8 LE Large Monstrous Humanoid
Also called storm marines, storm dragoons, and thunder warriors, storm soldiers are the result of painful fleshwarping techniques being used on young human soldiers, turning them into massive and obedient soldiers. Unlike with the creations of the drow, it is generally humans of a storm soldier's own culture who turn them into such monsters- leaders who value them more as weapons than as people. The process is traumatic and violent, and involves not only reshaping the flesh, but conditioning the mind to be loyal soldiers before all else. This leaves the storm soldier with a distant sense of her past life and a lot of buried trauma. They are functionally immortal, and often outlive the regime which created them. Storm soldiers are difficult to create, and those who do tend to spread their soldiers thin, with one or two storm soldiers assigned to a squad of mundane soldiers as linebreakers, guardians, and support.
This is not always the case, however. Centuries ago, a powerful shaman amassed a legion of these soldiers in a harebrained attempt to take over the world and unite it under his idea of order. His forces, however, became fractured- although sources differ on how, with some claiming the influence of a specific breed of fiend, and others believing it was a mundane power struggle. The result of this fracture was the death of the shaman, along with most of his generals, and the small remains of his forces scattered to the corners of the world. To this day they live in deadly xenophobic warbands; in particular, they have a hatred for elves, orks, and skeletons, although most still clash with each other in echoes of the original split.
Storm giants notably have a strong emotional reaction to storm soldiers; evil groups of giants typically do what they can to scourge them of the earth, but good-aligned storm giants tend to feel extreme pity and often attempt rehabilitation of storm soldiers. Younger storm soldiers (that is, less than a couple hundred years old) are often a success in this endeavor, but those as ancient as the shaman’s army are almost universally too far gone.
Some rulers believe that storm soldiers can only be created out of men, although this is generally considered to be a laughable falsehood.
This hulking woman wields a massive shield and weighty warhammer. She towers over her companions, and her eyes are leaking a glowing fluid. Codex entry: The Reconciliators Blackshields
Summary: The Horus Heresy left scars in every Legion, scars that would heal overtime in different ways; some would split into Chapters or Warbands serving both the Imperium or Chaos, others disappeared with a blaze of glory for what they believed in. But as all wars, the Heresy left orphans behind, Marines without Legion nor a place to return to.
These are the Reconciliators, these are those who yearn to be forgiven.
Goblin tag squad (lemme know if you wanna get tagged too): @finchly-tintinnabulation @cardinalcanis @jaghatai-khock @echo-of-damnation @meervalv0
Go easy on the Night Lord friends
Background Information:
After doing a very risky travel to save their lives, the blackshields known as Reconciliators traveled through the warp to save their lives as best as they could when the events known as "Horus heresy" were taking place; however the storms of the inmaterium left them in a time and place unknown to them.
It was the 41 millennium, far in the future for the Marines that had survived the travel, everything they had known had changed and now the Reconciliators had to quickly adapt to the modern times or get crushed under the new galaxy they had found themselves in.
Blackshield Leader
Real Name: Sobedrek Darren
Code Name/Nickname: Innocent (on missions)
Equipment:
Grey painted Mark V power armor, left shoulder pads filled with parchments of repentance.
Bolter with many replaced parts throughout the years, Sobedrek calls it "Mess"
Background:
One of the Terran Astartes that had joined the Sons of Horus a few wars before the Heresy, Sobedrek found about the betrayal of the Warmaster after the attorcities of Isstvan V.
Ashamed for his actions on that cursed planet, he made an oath to reach Holy Terra again and repent for the sins he had committed; when the chance came in a war against the Salamanders, Sobedrek took a thunderhawk and fled the planet; only to crash in another planet where there were a few World Eaters renegades fighting for their life. Sobredek joined them and together managed to escape, but not without heavy losses
Important member 1
Real Name: Jerathel
Code Name/Nickname: Dammed (in missions)
Role: Melee combat tactics
When in battle silence is not enough, when the supplies are too scarce to waste on recovering more, the Dammed rises from amongst their brothers to lead them into close combat encounters, leaving a trail of blood behind
Equipment:
Jerathel is equipped with his original combat armor from the days of when he was a World Eater, the symbol of the loyal War Hounds has been painted on his chest and it is the only part in his entire armor not painted grey.
Background:
Born and tested on Bodt to prove his worth many millenia ago, Jerathel was negated the right to fight with his brothers amongst the stars and remained on his planet training those who would fight alongside the primarch. However he started to doubt the loyalty of the World Eaters when Angron instructed the use of the Butcher's Nails, reluctantly agreeing to the process and hiding his doubts for later.
Jerathel throughout the years hearing of the news about the accomplishments of his legion discovered that they would soon follow down a path Jerathel wasn't going to take. Against all orders he abandoned Bordt to search for others like him who didn't trust his primarch. And so when the true loyalty of the World Eaters was revealed in Isstvan, Jerathel was far away enough to start a counter attack against his former primarch
Important Member 2
Real Name: Dareyon
Code Name/Nickname: Healey (on missions)
Role:
Every disease must be cured, every wound must be disinfected, and who better to guide the apothecaries of the Reconciliators if not an expert on the toxic and harmful substances that could kill a marine in days if not treated well such as Dareyon. Whose knowledge on the healing of his brothers never had been put in doubt
Equipment:
Having to always wear a mask that allows him to breathe the toxins of his homeplanet to survive, Dareyon may seem inoffensive or weak at first. His armor wears no signs of being ever used in combat, nor his bone colored armor had been ever filled with parchments or war trophies. Wherever he goes, his brothers know that his Narthecium will never fail to save their lives
Background:
Considered by his peers as "too soft" for the Death Guard, Dareyon was always casted aside, never in the receiving end of the glory or praises by his skill at healing. Instead as a apothecary Dareyon was only expected to fulfill his duties whenever they were needed and nothing more, it was just a tool for the legion and nothing more than that.
Left to die when the betrayal was at its peak, Dareyon had to fight tooth and nail to survive however he could against all odds. Only he knows what he had seen and lived to be where he stands today; but sadly Dareyon may probably never tell about the events that lead him to be hiding inside the ship
Here comes sexy Night Lord man btw
Important member 3
Real Name: Talrifel Tryvge
Code Name/Nickname: Eye (on missions)
Role:
While the Reconciliators are busy getting all of the food, ammunition and gene-seed that they can gather, Eye is always covering their backs from the distance with his reliable skills at long range combat and fear tactics; that are always welcome by his brothers
Equipment:
Talrifel armor is not as pale in comparison with the other members of the blackshields, his armor is still painted with the same dark blue that he used back in his days of being a Night Lord. As a way of remembering his previous life Talrifel collects eyes from the fallen enemies he kills, having made two collars already displayed on his neck. He has never grown too much attached to one singular weapon, usually discarding them when he finds another one in better conditions, snipers are his favorite
Background:
Talrifel was the rare case amongst the Night Lords where he was already considered an outcast by his own brothers as he never fully grown attached to anyone other than the dead; which is why he always loved to roam around the apothecarion seeing the wounded.
Eventually his own legion abandoned Tryvge to die in some planet far away where no one could save him. Or so he was destined to die there, but when a group of blackshields landed on his planet looking for resources, Talrifel took advantage of the situation.

Left: Variala Stormeye, sarcastic and cutting but she's the only one allowed to bully her warband so don't you even try or she'll tear you to shreds. She was, surprisingly, one of the most worried when Speratus started spiraling, but also fully supported Tiaddan's decision to remove Speratus because "he would be a liability in any real action".
Right: Fulvious Spiritstorm, tall and ominous looking, but surprisingly softspoken and bookish. As a necromancer and the other magically inclined member of the Storm Warband, he was close to Speratus. He opposed Tiaddan's decision to send Speratus away, recognizing that the poor guy needed help but staunchly disagreeing that removing him from all support and family was the correct course of action.

Tiaddan Swordstorm, the leader of the Storm Warband, he dreams of being a big ol' war hero like the ones in stories, winning great victories and coming home to fanfare and celebration and fame. This leads him to act like he knows everything and that every decision he makes is the right one. He claims he "made the hard decision" by sending Speratus on leave. After reflection, Speratus is pretty sure the decision was actually made because he was a threat to the lofty goals Tiaddan aspires to.

Left: Sylvian Stormsinger, twin sister of Ascilianus Stormdancer. A ranger who loves to collect dangerous and exotic pets. She and Speratus didn't really get along, he found her grating and she considered him weak and too heavily reliant on magic. She considers his breakdown the inevitable result of him being unsuited to legion life and she supported the decision to remove him from the warband.
Right: Ascilianus Stormdancer, twin brother of Sylvian Stormsinger. A berserker and what booksmarts he lacks, he makes up for in survival smarts. Unlike his sister he got along with Speratus on a neutral-to-positive level and he often tried to get Speratus to join him on wilderness exploration "adventures". A lot of survival skills Speratus uses while traveling were learned from Ascilianus. While he did feel bad about Speratus leaving the warband, he was unable to think of any other solution for the situation and so followed Tiaddan's decision.
Alright so thinking about Speratus' warband! I've got names and the beginnings of thoughts.
Tiaddan Swordstorm is the leader pretty much, he's a Guardian of some flavor and very 'standard story protagonist hero' flavor. He was the one that eventually had to confront Speratus and tell him to leave.
Variala Stormeye is your classic sneaky sniper deadeye. She builds her own guns.
The twins Sylvian Stormsinger and Ascilianus Stormdancer are a druid and a berserker. Don't know much about them yet.
And finally (besides Speratus that is) there's Fulvious Spiritstorm who is a necromancer and was probably the closest to Speratus as the two most magically inclined members of the warband.
