I know few Hellenic polytheists irl. I know most of the people I know from this hell site. And for some reason, all of the Hellenic polytheists I know in person and rude and very, very ignorant. SND THEY’RE IGNORANT ABOUT THEIR OWN RELIGION, TOO!!!

I told my story about one of the already, the secretive one. Uh, scroll on my blog far enough and you’ll find it! I think you guys need to hear about the other one.

Me: Oh, I like your bracelets! *points to bracelet that says Apollo*

Them: oh, thanks! I pray to him.

Me: You’re a Hellenic polytheist?

Them: yeah, yeah.

Me: Me too! Who all do you pray too?

Them: Apollo and Poseidon mainly.

Me: oh, nice! I’ve heard Apollo is really nice. I pray to Ares-

Them, gasping: What?! No, no, what?!

Me: … what’s wrong with Lord Ares

Them: You’re too nice! Ares is too violent. I never would have guessed you prayed to him, that’s all… I would never!

Me: oh, uhm. I also pray to Thanatos and Aphrodite.

Them: Athena would make for sense for you, honestly. But Aphrodite is a good fit, too. Who was the other one you mentioned?

Me: Thanatos? He’s the god of death. He’s my patron!

Them: oh. Death? Man, you really don’t seem the type to pray to those deities.

I had to talk to them a bit more, I was helping paint a mural. They kept commenting on how ���crazy’ it was that I worshiped such ‘violent deities’

Anyways, that’s my fun little fun story time. I have more up my sleeve.

Raggedy Origins

Raggedy Ann Stories is a short story collection written and illustrated by Johnny Gruelle. The collection centers around the sweet ragdoll character Raggedy Ann. Published in 1918 by M. A. Donohue & Company in Chicago, this edition is adorned with cheerful illustrations that truly bring the stories to life.

Raggedy Ann, a character that has captured the hearts of many, was brought to life by the American illustrator and author John Barton Gruelle (1880-1938). The character made its first appearance as a doll in 1915 and was later introduced to the public through this 1918 Raggedy Ann Stories book.

The exact beginnings of the Raggedy Ann doll and its related stories are unclear, but many myths and legends surrounding its origins have been widely circulated. Johnny Gruelle is responsible for sparking many of these tales—whether inadvertently or with his well-known sense of humor, it’s anyone’s guess! In one version, Gruelle's daughter Marcella discovered a faceless cloth doll in her grandmother's attic, which the artist then drew a face on. It is said that Gruelle made up stories about Raggedy Ann to tell his daughter, Marcella, who is believed to have been the inspiration behind the doll and its stories. One detail that is clear is that despite internet rumors to the contrary, the doll was not designed to represent children who died from vaccines.

They shut the studio down after the lack of success from the second game. The director (who was aiming for a trilogy, mind you) or any of the OG staff may never see a cent from the rerelease because of legal shenanigans when you shut down a business.

Their big cheese's first three cartoons (two without synchronized sound) are in the public domain.

All of the forgotten rabbit's cartoons from His era are public domain too.

Dolphin and its upscaler tool are free.

So are the original disc images of the first and second games, if you know where to find them.

AND so are the fan retextures, because Dolphin gives modders that option.

It's not worth 60 USD when the company isn't even (and never has been) bothering to hide that it just wants to keep iconic character IPs for as long as possible.

I just think it’s so sweet how Johnny Gruelle made Raggedy Ann stories to make Marcella’s memory live on & that people still know about her today, over 100 years later

I think (after a lot of thinking) that my main issue with Marcella in Vengeful is the fact we don't really get to watch her struggle?

Marcella is on a rampage the entire time. Her plot for revenge against Marcus wraps up very quickly despite it being a perfectly compelling story on its own.

Partially because of her lack of compassion, we don't see her struggle with her EO power, seeming to come into it and accept it very naturally.

June and Jonathan don't have any conflicts with her. She's very intelligent so all her plans work without a hitch.

This isn't necessarily bad. The issue comes from the fact that she is a main character of Vengeful yet there is nothing besides rage (which after the quickly wrapped up revenge plot against Marcus is unfocused) to make you feel for her.

The issue isn't really having a larger cast or a prominent role but that nearly all her scenes are ultimately forgettable. Other characters who have less time dedicated to them/no POV (June, Rios, Dominic and Stell) manage to be more memorable.

Oh hello frequenters of my blog. I’m sick, again. Food poisoning. So hard to guess ik, not like I’m always plagued with sickness.

If you ever get to really know me, you’ll notice one of my biggest pet peeves is people who act all high and mighty about things they shouldn’t be.

When I first started thinking about converting to being helpol, my best friend told me she knew someone who was helpol! I was super excited. Someone’s going to tell me about how the religion works? Yes please.

I met them, and it was… uhm… interesting looking back on it. They were very very secretive and vague with all their answers. I ask them how I should structure altars, and the response I got was basically: “Oh, however you want to. Idk.”

I told them I had heard people talking about how they communicated with their deities, and asked how that works. Do you hear them in your head? Is it through signs you have to interpret? The answer I got was: “Oh, you just kind of know it’s them. It’s too hard to explain.”

I didn’t know much about Hellenic polytheism yet, I hadn’t done a ton of research yet. I thought those were perfectly accurate and acceptable answers!

If someone is expressing desire to convert to your religion, doesn’t matter what religion you are, just answer their fucking questions. It’s not that hard. If you feel you can’t answer them, send them to a person who can! Find them resources if you must! Why act secretive and mighty about it? What will that do for you?

Also, when I was a bit better at this whole thing, my best friend added her on our FaceTime. I was like, “oh hi! How are you? Thanks for giving me some tips awhile back. I have two altars now!” (That was pre-Aphrodite devotee) She was basically like. “oh, okay. Uhm, cool ig. Do you want to hear about my conservative brother?” lol. 💀
