Every time I open the app store and it tells me to turn on notifications and tries to sell me a subscription service,
every time I see that I can't uninstall facebook, chrome, google, etc., only 'disable' them,
every time I try to get root access to MY phone and the system blocks me from doing it,
every time I am forced to update my phone,
every time I get a notification telling me that the terms of service have been altered,
I want to
[Remembers not to make public threats of terrorism]
break my phone in half.

Oh hey, look at that! Nokia still sells phones (including modern versions of the early flagship phones I love so much)! They've also expanded to smartphones and tablets over the years, and all the prices I'm seeing are insanely affordable compared to most other mobile tech brands.
So it turns out that when my current phone finally beeps it's last text tone, I really *can* just replace it with a basic old Nokia phone and a tidy lil tablet, and all for fractions of what I paid for the current one!
Now all I need to do is find the desktop computer version of Nokia as a company so I can finally replace my desktop for work.

My #1 advice for people moving out is to NOT buy nonstick cookware... not only is the lifespan of nonstick a MAXIMUM of 7 years (usually more like 2-5 years) but teflon, aka Polytetrafluoroethylene-- the plastic coating that makes the cookware nonstick, infuses microplastics into your food.
New cookware sets can cost hundreds of dollars so my advice is to look for 100% stainless steel cookware in thrift stores. Safer, cheaper, & instead of needing to replace every 2-7 years they can potentially last you the entire rest of your life AND they won't start shedding plastic into your food

I keep seeing people respond to the Microsoft Recall bullshit with there's an ability to disable it and that misses the point. Several points in fact.
It's only a matter of time until an update bugs/"bugs" it and re-enables it without warning so people who had previously disabled it think they're in the clear until their info is leaked or they get a warning they're low on storage space.
If people don't have admin rights, they may not be able to disable it. Laptops given by work or school lock down what people can do with them, some going as far as dictating which browser one has to use on them. Even if you don't need admin rights to disable Recall, you may not have the ability to do so without losing the laptop and/or job and/or education.
I'm unsure of how it would handle multiple accounts but if it can be locked by someone else to always be enabled, children and people in abusive situations would also be unable to disable it. Even if it can't be locked, disabling it could result in punishment from a parent or the abuser.
Is it really disabled or is it "disabled" in that what the user sees is it being disabled while it's still collecting information and/or sending information to Microsoft in the background?
Such a feature should never have been automatically enabled in the first place. It's bad, predatory design to have such a feature enabled from the start and to expect users AKA customers to go out of their way to look up and then opt-out of something.
If disabling it really disables it, it can still result in stress and concern that it's not. The vast majority of people do not have the skills or knowledge to look into the OS guts to give themselves peace of mind that it really truly is disabled.
I'm sure I'm missing some, too.
TLDR is disabling is a bandaid someone else may rip off for you, someone may hurt you if you use, it may not work at all except as a placebo, and should have never been needed in the first place.

Following up on my hanging thingie obsession…so far I have most of Molly’s clothes and the Sam’s clothes on hanging thingies.
Tumblr media
Kirsten and Felicity’s clothes are doubled up on one hook. Not pictured is Josefina’s collection, also on a hanging thingie that lives on the same hook as Molly’s.
Most of the BeForever items that are in boxes are stored in Molly’s chifforobe (below the hanging thingie).

Ukraine is attempting to kill Putin
Ukraine is developing a missile capable of potentially killing Vladimir Putin. As the conflict enters its third year, Yehor Chernev, head of Ukraine’s NATO delegation, recently revealed that the Hrim-2 missile is nearly operational. Believe me, there will soon be concrete results that not only Ukraine but also the Russian Federation will see The Hrim-2 is a single-stage, solid-fuel ballistic…

Okay OKAY IM A BIT LATE (As in days late) SO UH RIGHT SO SORRY ABOUT THAT-
BUT HAVE THIS I FINALLY FINISHED IT
Happy Birthday Big Green! :]
For context: it basically is like "Oh this is what happened during his birthday!"
To explain further, the first scene is the public celebration of his birthday (being that I envisioned it happening in a museum), the second scene is yknow.. Contiplating life. WHILE WHILE- The third scene is just him celebrating his birthday with Truro, just the two of them :D (They spent the rest of the night hanging out with eachother that's why it's near sunrise)
