Salaar is indeed a gay coming of age movie
Reading the reblog tag from this post lmao I can't help but think about how similar the goodbye scene between Elio and Oliver in Call me by your name with Varadeva first separation scene lmao
Especially Varadha lingering behind looking at Deva's moving vehicle as he left him in Khansaar, same with Elio who keeps staring at the train 😂 then we have the car scene with Baba sitting right beside Varadha just like Elio's mother turning his head once looking in sympathy that this pitiful kid just experience his first heartbreak, the dramatic lifting his head off the headrest akin to Elio rubbing his face in frustration about their goodbye, thennnnn we even have the focusing frame crying scene as tear rolling down the cheek of a brokenhearted boy.
Sir, Prashanth sir I need you to tell me that the inspiration for this sequence was cmbyn wasn't it even just a little bit? Stop playing with us, Salaar is a full queer romance isn't it??????
#cmbyn#oliver x elio#varadeva#salaar#queer movies#karthikeya dev#timothée chalamet#tollywood#it's a love story#please I will keep comparing the romance movie tropes with salaar#I will not stop#it's so many lmao#stop playing Prashanth#also thank you for the hilarious tags#reading the hashtags is the highlight of making gifset#bless you

Prabhas' depiction of Deva's emotions:
or more specifically, their supposed 'absence'
his character was MADE to be that way.
the only emotion we've seen him feel in the present is a child-like sort of contentment (and we've only seen that around the kids) or rage.
any peace or even the ability to express any other emotion freely does not come to Deva easily.
he is currently in a state where only rage serves him any purpose, and the only thing that can come closest to giving him any joy, is when he's interacting with children.
to add on, he does have a sense of guilt attached to his violence now, even though it comes so naturally to him, because his mother has made it something that brings him shame to express but he is so familiar with the emotion, that if he's restricted from showing it, he may as well stop himself from feeling anything.
so prabhas choosing to play the character like this, including prashanth's direction of his character, is very deliberate: it takes effort (in it's own way) to act emotionless while maintaining screen presence and intensity
adding onto that, we see deva multiple times, show very nuanced, specific emotions throughout the movie:
which shows that deva (and by extension prabhas) expresses emotion, but the state he is in right now, has him "shutting off" his emotions, unless it is in regard to his mother, or varadha, and that is definitely intentional.
#he smiles like. two and a half times in the whole movie. and that's a very depressing thought.#getting technical#part 1#character analysis#devaratha raisar#i don't have a final verdict/opinion on prabhas' acting#but it definitely WAS in the room with us#salaar#prabhas

Does Art Bring Out the Human In You or the Animal In You?
I do not know how many more awards Animal will win. I don't think I want to know. But I thought I'll still put in my two cents. It's a movie that was so repulsive to me that I couldn't even hate-watch it. I fast forwarded so many parts where the gruesome violence in it nauseated me and by the time I finished it, I must say I did feel a sense of accomplishment, in the sense that I had scaled some very new heights of self-torture. The only redeeming plot point (if there was any) in my opinion was Ranvijay's painful need for his father's approval. The bottomless void left in a person's mind by childhood neglect was the only part of the movie that spoke to me. The rest of the plot seemed to exist only so that Sandeep Reddy Vanga could unabashedly celebrate toxic masculinity.
This brings us to the much debated question of what art should be and what it shouldn't be. What is the role that art plays in shaping people's perspectives? I've heard many people ask why art must be subjected to such scrutiny. Art is art. Simple enough? Not quite. Many days ago, I heard actor Prashanth Alexander speak empathetically, in an interview, about many topics surrounding women. He went on to talk about how the sarcasm in the dialogue "penkuttikalk athyaavashyam freedom kodukkunna oru modern family aanu njangade", in Kumbalangi Nights, had escaped a majority of the Malayali audience's understanding. The very fact that they did not understand the humour in it is concerning. When a movie like Animal receives so many accolades and becomes a blockbuster hit, I don't think it happens because the Indian audience appreciates it as a work of art. I think it's mostly because it validates their own toxicity and lets loose the animal in them. In Kadha Parayumbol, Mammootty's character talks about how art cannot change anything in society. He cites the poem Mambazham by Vailoppilly as an example for this. Despite being a profoundly moving poem about the relationship between a mother and son, did mothers stop scolding their children after reading the poem? They didn't. But, I don't believe this stands as a good example for art not influencing people/life, given it doesn't deal with themes that reflect collective mentality. In Animal, when a star like Ranbir Kapoor mouths lines like "you have a big pelvis" and "you can accommodate healthy babies" to express romantic interest, I wouldn't be surprised if many people find it cool, especially given the fact that the character played by Rashmika falls head over heels for him. Ranvijay's monologue about alpha males in the beginning was a particularly difficult one to sit through but it paled in comparison to whatever came next. The fact that there might be people who find all the violence in the movie cathartic is beyond scary. I believe it's obvious why people imitate bad things more than the good. I have felt that people selectively pick the bad for the simple reason that it mirrors their own selves. When something that they probably repressed is given such a loud outlet, chances are, they would perceive it as a liberation of sorts. On the other hand, imitating good things takes more work and I doubt how many people allow themselves to be transformed by a work of art. This is why it's dangerous to place the responsibility on the audience to make whatever they want out of a movie. I think we must face the bitter truth that we do not have a sensible audience. Their filter for good/bad in itself is a flawed one.
I understand the argument about artistic liberty to a large extent. I don't know if this is a valid comparison but I have strong reactions to people telling me what I should and shouldn't write. I have had people ask me what's the use of writing "depressing" things. My answer to that is, life isn't just about happiness. Life is a whole spectrum and it's none of anybody's business what I choose to write in my personal space. Besides, I think it's necessary for a writer (by writer, I don't mean me) to talk about emotions/states of mind that are shamed by people. Writing about it can serve as a reminder that such emotions don't make anybody any less of a human being. During times of depression, I have found more comfort and strength in Sylvia Plath's writings than in any self-help book. By validating my grief, her words were healing and empowering me. So, I do have a problem with people narrowing down definitions of what's uplifting and what's not. I don't believe that art should always be "uplifting", neither do I believe in shaming personal writings/artistic expressions by saying that they hold no bigger relevance because in my opinion, they do. If people had healthy, harmless outlets for a lot of things they felt, I do think our world would be a better place. So, censoring people even when they are getting things out of their system in ways that are harmless to themselves and others isn't fair. For most people with mental health struggles, I think they would rather just have somebody tell them they aren't alone than have motivational speeches shoved down their throat. What I am trying to say is, I personally don't believe in putting art in very tiny boxes. I do believe in the cathartic and healing effect of art when it gives expression to parts of us that we might otherwise have difficulty embracing. However, when unleashing the said parts cannot bring healing to oneself and instead, causes significant damage to others, that's when it becomes a problem. Is art about portraying only good? Ofcourse not. This is another something that many people don't seem to understand. Nobody is saying that bad things/people shouldn't be portrayed through art, in movies more specifically. The only question is how they are being portrayed. How. Do you come back from watching Animal with an understanding that you shouldn't be like Ranvijay or do you find yourself cheering him on when he maniacally kills off people and bathes himself in their blood? Do you feel like it would be cool to have a doormat for a partner? Does the movie make you want to imitate a person who unleashes violence on people who are already facing oppression in the real world? These are some of the questions that are being asked. This is a country where people look up porn sites every other time a woman is brutally raped. I mean, what even? So, art must not reinforce the evil in the society. Instead, it must disturb you, heal you and provide catharsis to you in ways that are necessary.
Coming to the final question, do we need a movie like Animal? The answer is, perhaps not in the part of the world where we are living in. Not in a society that often normalises violence against women. Not in a society that already looks up to toxic masculinity as an ideal.

Salaar: A Pulverizing Punch Through Action Cinema, But Does It Pack an Emotional Wallop?
Prepare for a sensory overload, cinephiles, because Prabhas is back and he's brought the big guns in Prashanth Neel's "Salaar." Does this high-octane action odyssey deliver on its explosive promise? Buckle up, because this review is about to take you on a wild ride of adrenaline, violence, and maybe a few lingering questions. In this blog post we will explore Salaar Review
A Story Dyed in Crimson and Vengeance:
Deva (Prabhas), a brooding man with eyes that hold a storm, carries the weight of a bloody past on his shoulders. He becomes entangled in a web of betrayal and vengeance, forced to navigate the treacherous underworld while protecting those he loves. Enter Aadhya (Shruti Haasan), a strong-willed woman with her own secrets, whose path intertwines with Deva's in a dance of danger and unlikely alliance.
Prabhas Reigns Supreme in the Action Arena:
Prabhas is in his element as Deva. He embodies the physicality and intensity of the role with effortless charisma, pulverizing enemies with balletic precision and stoic gravitas. His action sequences are a masterclass in choreography, leaving you breathless with their brutality and balletic grace. He's the linchpin of the film, carrying the narrative on his broad shoulders and delivering every punch (literal and metaphorical) with conviction.
Neel's Familiar Symphony, Played at Ear-Splitting Volume:
Director Prashanth Neel, who brought us the KGF phenomenon, returns with his signature blend of high-octane action and operatic storytelling. The camera lingers on gruesome violence, the soundtrack pulsates with heavy bass, and the narrative unfolds in a series of explosive confrontations. While fans of KGF will find familiar beats, Neel ups the ante in "Salaar," pushing the boundaries of action sequences and brutality. However, this relentless focus on action leaves little room for character development or emotional depth, leaving some viewers yearning for a softer touch.
Beyond the Bloodshed: Glimmers of Humanity:
While "Salaar" revels in its violent spectacle, it's not devoid of human touch. The relationship between Deva and Aadhya develops a subtle tenderness amidst the mayhem, offering a glimpse into the vulnerability beneath their hardened exteriors. However, these moments feel fleeting, swallowed by the relentless action sequences. The film hints at deeper themes of loyalty, revenge, and the burden of the past, but never fully explores them, leaving you wanting more than just adrenaline-fueled thrills.
A Visually Audacious Spectacle:
"Salaar" is a technical marvel. The cinematography is stunning, capturing the grit of the underworld and the grandeur of action sequences with equal skill. The visual effects are seamless, transforming ordinary landscapes into battlegrounds and creating gravity-defying stunts. The sound design is a sonic assault, immersing you in the heart-pounding rhythm of the fight scenes and amplifying the tension in every scene. This is a film that demands to be experienced on the big screen, a feast for the senses that will leave you exhilarated and slightly shellshocked.
Conclusion of Salaar Movie Review
"Salaar" is a cinematic adrenaline rush, a non-stop rollercoaster of action sequences and brutal confrontations. Prabhas is in top form, delivering a physically imposing and emotionally nuanced performance. However, the film's relentless focus on spectacle comes at the expense of character development and emotional depth. While the visuals and action are undeniably impressive, they often overshadow the human story beneath the surface. "Salaar" is a must-watch for die-hard action fans and Prabhas devotees, but those seeking a more emotionally resonant experience may find themselves wanting more. It's a pulverizing punch through action cinema, but the emotional impact ultimately lingers like a fading bruise.

Planetspark Review – Prashanth’s Parents Reviews
The first time I came across a PlanetSpark Review, I was surfing the internet, looking for a solution to help my son gain some confidence. The person who dropped the review had a daughter with confidence issues, just like my son.
When Prashanth was little, he often stammered, which continued until he was 5. Although his mother, Ranu, and I took him to Speech Therapy to help with his stammer, his speech improved somewhat, but his confidence did not improve. When his stammer was still terrible, he was always made fun of and sometimes bullied, which made him close up completely.
Although his mother and I tried our best to stop him from closing up, we couldn't do much because we spent much time away from him. With me being a bank officer in a top bank in Udupi, Karnataka, and his mother going to her boutique, watching him 24/7, and trying to bring him out of his shell was an impossible task. We knew his lack of confidence to communicate was not good, but we had no idea how bad it was. As I said, we were both busy with work and spent less time with him. During our time with him, he was somewhat free with us, and we hardly had to meet any strangers or new people.
However, recently, when Ranu got a manager for her boutique, and she started spending more time at home and with Prashanth, she got more worried. She said she noticed he was always shy when he spoke to us, and when he talked to strangers, it was almost soundless. Sometimes, he sounded like he was about to cry, and other times, his stammering worsened.
I didn't understand at first, but she insisted that the few times she had taken him out during the week, he was always very reluctant. The matter died for a while, but when I got leave from work, I saw all that Ranu had been saying. When his cousins came over with my sister, Naya, my son refused to speak up and play with his cousins.
It had been a long time since they saw each other, so I assumed he would be excited to play with them. Instead, he sat by the corner and watched as the two boys, Viraj and Yash, played with their toys. Ranu had prompted him to play with them and show them his toys, but he declined with a shake of his head, and when she insisted, pushing him and making him stand in front of them, he had a total breakdown.
I decided to take things into my own hands and searched the internet for solutions, which was when I stumbled upon some PlanetSpark Reviews. The first one I read had a similar case to Prashant, but like the other solutions I had come across earlier, I wasn't convinced, so I decided to read more. I eventually decided to check PlanetSpark.
When Prashanth started his classes, I noticed how in-depth the curriculum was. Because of his speech and confidence issues, his teacher Mr Manjeet had started the course with lessons on body language and voice modulation. Things seemed to be going great, and I hoped that when I saw the result, my PlanetSpark Review would be as positive as the ones I had read on the internet. The first improvement I noticed was his communication with Ranu and myself; his voice was not as low as it had always been when he communicated with us. Instead, he had begun to voice out more often, and we did not have to prompt him. To boost his confidence, Mr Manjeet ensured he educated my son on topics he was taking in school and ones he was yet to be taught.
Two months into his PlanetSpark lessons, Mr Manjeet gave him a topic to read and work on before his next class. Before that, Mr Manjeet had told him about podcasting. They watched many videos and read many articles on how to start a podcast, and although my son seemed interested in it, he was not confident about starting one. After he had worked on the assignment with Ranu's help, he had typed out his work with my help and thought he would submit it as an essay, but the teacher asked him to talk on the topic as though it was a podcast. Seeing as it was impromptu, Prashanth was nervous at first, and I thought he was going to close up on his teacher, but much to our surprise, he did not. He spoke on the topic, and although he wasn't perfect, we could see that he had significantly improved, and that was his motivation to start his podcast.
Prashanth also joined the theatre group and had to act in a monologue scene in front of his teacher and some of the age group that he had never met before on PlanetSpark. The whole theatre idea really impressed me, but I wished something like this could be done physically and not the students acting their scenes miles apart. This is not just so we can keep memories of our son's improvements, but also, I fear that he has not gotten very used to talking to a large crowd. Acting physically would be in front of many people, and he would learn to master his stage fright.
Although Prashanth is still quite reserved, I believe it is just his personality, but when it comes to his communication and confidence, he has greatly improved. My 13-year-old boy, who was scared of talking to his cousins, now took it upon himself to speak to the woman at the counter whenever his mother took him to get something, and I couldn't be prouder. He knows when to speak up for himself, and he doesn't let anything stop him from saying his views. His teachers in school even commented on how he had started answering questions voluntarily and stopped sitting and doing things all by himself.
I noticed that after every class, there was no reference to what his teacher said. If there could be a recording of my son's classes made available for us, that would be great. Although PlanetSpark is a great learning platform, I think it would be better to improve on the demo classes. Since I checked the demo class before signing Prashanth up for the main class, I got to experience both. While the demo class was great, I believe it could have been better since it is a decision-making point for parents.
In all, PlanetSpark has truly helped Prashanth, not only in boosting his confidence but in many other areas of communication and critical thinking. All thanks to the PlanetSpark review I saw while surfing the internet.

All of the times Alex Ovechkin has proved us wrong
Alex Ovechkin is on the precipice of an important hockey milestone, once again showing the world why no one should doubt his greatness.
Alex Ovechkin remains just two goals away from hitting No. 700 for his career, a milestone that would put him in the company that only seven other hockey players in the entire NHL have reached. It’s a momentous occasion, that will no doubt be met with praise and celebration… when it happens.
As it should! Ovechkin hitting the 700 goal mark is huge for the sport of hockey. What Ovechkin is doing now — in the modern NHL — when compared to what Wayne Gretzky did in the 80s and 90s, there’s no question that the former’s goal-scoring ability is more impressive. Goaltenders are better in the modern NHL and scoring is harder, making Ovechkin’s quest that much more revolutionary when you know what he’s facing each night.
More
Not even time itself can stop Alex Ovechkin right now
Read now >>
However, it hasn’t always been this way for Ovechkin. In the early to mid-2000s, calling Ovechkin “washed” was the norm, which became a narrative that shaped much of his career. During the 2011-12 season, Ovechkin posted just 65 points in 78 games, the lowest of his career during a non-lockout season. In 2010-11, Ovechkin put up 32 goals — the fewest during one single season of his career — a drop off of 33 goals from his career-high that he posted four seasons prior.
It wasn’t just Ovechkin’s numbers that sparked criticism from the hockey world. Much of his career, Ovechkin has faced the narrative that he’s a one-dimensional player, that he’s reluctant to back-check and make defensive plays for his team. Previous head coaches such as Dale Hunter attempted to make Ovechkin play a more defensive style of game during his tenure in Washington, but when put under coaches such as Barry Trotz or Todd Reirden, Ovechkin has flourished.
Ovechkin isn’t a perfect hockey player. He’s not as well-rounded as rival Sidney Crosby is in all the facets of his game. Ovechkin is also a streaky goal-scorer, as evidenced by his current five-game goalless drought headed into Thursday night’s game.
And yet, Ovechkin has continued to prove people wrong time and time again. In the seasons following his worst scoring year, Ovechkin proceeded to win four consecutive Rocket Richard trophies as the NHL’s goal-scoring leader and has won the award in six of the last seven seasons.
When faced with comparisons to Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins, a team that won Stanley Cups in back-to-back seasons and rolled over the Washington Capitals en route to those championships, Ovechkin and his team persisted. Then finally, during the 2017-18 season, Ovechkin lead the Capitals to their first Stanley Cup victory in franchise history, besting the Penguins during those same playoffs and solidifying his legacy in the hockey world.
youtube
Given the emotional catharsis of Ovechkin’s 2018 Stanley Cup victory, and just how hard it is to win one in general, it’s hard to think anyone will bar Ovechkin from the conversation of being one of the “greatest of all time” with just one championship to his name. Of course, Ovechkin could win more before his career is over, but now that he’s won his first, that conversation has since faded into the background.
With season scoring titles and a Stanley Cup to his name, Ovechkin has one more mountain to climb: the NHL’s goal-scoring record. Getting to the 700 mark is just the start for Ovechkin. Realistically, Ovechkin has a chance to pass Gretzky before his career is over. He also has a real opportunity, should he stay healthy and play long enough, to hit 1,000 goals in his career.
It’s not controversial to say Ovechkin is the best goal scorer of the modern era. Should he pass Gretzky in the next few years, Ovechkin will be the best goal scorer of all time. After that, is Ovechkin the best player of all-time in the NHL? It’s hard to argue against making a case for it, especially when you consider his goal-scoring trajectory in comparison to his peers since 2005-06.
Let’s try again one more time (with a lot less love for Kovalchuk as i stop counting his 2010-2011 season 3 times) and look at Ovechkin’s goal scoring rate relative to his contemporaries. The man is just unreal pic.twitter.com/ooIh5qlvRg
— Prashanth Iyer (@iyer_prashanth) January 22, 2020
Time after time, Ovechkin has risen to the challenge of proving his doubters and detractors wrong in the past. With one more hurdle to overcome, we can’t wait to see how Ovechkin proves us wrong in the seasons to come.

via Today Bharat As with the Rhea case, there are several theories that have kept media channels competing with one another. Over the last couple of months, the headlines that have dominated most of India’s national media surrounds the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. With the actor’s former girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty arrested, attention has shifted to Kangana Ranaut’s battle with the Maharashtra government. Meanwhile, a case with some parallels is playing out in the state of Karnataka too. All eyes are now on an alleged drug trafficking operation in Bengaluru, which, according to the police, had supporters and enablers in Sandalwood — the Kannada film industry. Here too, two prominent women actors — Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani have been arrested. The Rhea Chakraborty case had led to a lot of buzz in Kannada media as it played out on prime time. Parallelly, in August, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had busted a drug racket in Bengaluru and arrested a woman called Anikha along with several others. A few days after this arrest, on August 29, the NCD issued a statement that actors and musicians in Karnataka were under the scanner for alleged drug use and trafficking. This triggered the media’s obsession with the case and soon, TV channels were full of speculation on who could be using drugs and what drugs. On September 1, filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh appeared on one TV channel and claimed that he had a list of names of people who were using drugs. Even as several names did the rounds, on September 1, the Central Crime Branch of the Bengaluru police arrested a man named Ravi Shankar. A government employee, Ravi Shankar was accused of organising rave parties and soon his pictures with friend and actor Ragini Dwivedi went viral. Within a matter of days, the CCB arrested around 10 people, including two women actors (Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani), Viren Khanna, a prominent party planner who founded Bangalore Expats Club, and Vivek Oberoi’s brother-in-law Aditya Alva. Like in the Rhea case, the material evidence, in this case, seems to be slim, or least that's the assumption one makes from what the police have revealed so far publicly. All that the CCB has gathered so far in terms of drug seizure is 10 gm of the recreational psychoactive drug MDMA. This was picked up at the residence of a Senegalese national, Loum Pepper, who is suspected to have supplied drugs to Viren Khanna. The police case is that the actors were using drugs and also sharing them with others at these parties. But like in the Mumbai case, here too the police’s probe relies heavily on digital evidence: of alleged WhatsApp chats between the accused and an alleged WhatsApp group Viren Khanna had created to send invites to people for his private parties. Though only the chargesheet will tell if the police have a watertight case to get the actors convicted, the coverage in Karnataka has been non-stop and titillating. This is much like Rhea Chakraborty’s case, where several national television channels have vilified her and painted her as a part of a clandestine drug syndicate. ‘Explosive new information’ or “mega exclusives” about the lives of the two women actors have become a regular occurrence across channels. “Look at the clothes she (Sanjjana) is wearing and partying around. Forget our culture, there is a huge drug mafia in Karnataka,” began a bulletin in one of the regional channels. Pictures of actor Sanjjana’s engagement with Dr Azeez Pasha a few months ago also surfaced. Since the engagement had been kept as a secret by the family, the revelation became huge breaking news. Channels claimed that Sanjjana was married to Pasha, and accused him of peddling drugs. The CCB has, however, not questioned or arrested him till now. Over the last few weeks, regional TV channels have been covering no other issue, save the drug case. On Monday, a regional channel put up a picture of Sanjjanaa Galrani with a former police officer. The channel’s anchor said, “The CCB had in its remand application said that the actors were tipped off about the probe against them by a source.” The suggestion was clear, that the police officer was the informant. As with the Rhea case, there are several theories that have kept media channels competing with one another. While some claimed that the actors secured prime property, others said that they would take politicians and actors to Sri Lanka to take part in rave parties. The police have neither disclosed any such evidence nor mentioned it in remand reports. Just as actor Kangana Ranaut has been alleging nepotism among the ‘Bollywood mafia’, there have been celebrities in the state who have been frequenting TV channels, taking on the role of creating a ‘drug-free Karnataka’. One such person is Bengaluru-based businessman Prashanth Sambargi who has been giving statements to the media every day, stating that Ragini and Sanjjanaa are “drug abusers” and have several connections. The CCB called Prasanth for questioning as he had claimed he had proof of the drug dealings. Sources in the agency told TNM that since he didn't have any proof other than pictures taken at parties, he has been told that he would be summoned again and given time to gather evidence. So far, Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani have been accused of using drugs. The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act does penalise users. However, the punishments are not harsh compared to those charged with selling drugs in commercial quantities. The NDPS also mentions that users must be rehabilitated. Although the legislation is not very sympathetic towards users, the criminalisation of drug use does carry a lot of stigma to it. The existing stigma surrounding users, where they are treated as criminals, is hardly conducive towards effective rehabilitation. It is also to be noted that recreational, social drug use is more common in urban India than is widely acknowledged and not every case is one of addiction. However, the coverage in both the Rhea Chakraorty case as well as the Sandalwood actors' case has been sensational. The focus on what the women wore, ate, posted on social media and even their hand gestures have been intensely scrutinised. In Karnataka, the misogynistic tone of news coverage has failed to ask questions of male actors, directors and producers in these industries, let alone probe the system that enables drug use.

And then I took out the bike for a spin, armed with the knowledge of how gear shift works and the act of balancing a two wheeler that I learnt when I was 8 years old. It was the first time I ever rode a bike and I didn’t think it was very difficult. I was relieved because I didn’t want the shots to be compromised. Step 2– The IVF treatment cycle begins the day you begin getting your periods. On an ensuing day, your specialist will mastermind a blood test and ultrasound for you. While the blood test is done to examine estrogen levels and ensure that your ovaries are inactive, ultrasound will determine your ovary measure and recognize ovarian sores assuming any. If there is a simple, your specialist will put off the procedure for the following couple of days or can suck it with the assistance of a needle on the other hand. Step 3– After your blood test and ultrasound results are discovered ordinary, ovarian incitement through Infertility treatment is the following stage. You may require to take 1 to 4 injections for each day for around seven days depending upon your treatment procedure. The regularly recommended Infertility treatments are cleaned, Femera, Follistim and Lupron. Through Ovarian incitement, your specialist gauges whether the medicine dose ought to be increased or not. What is Laparoscopy What is Laparoscopy: Laparoscopy, otherwise called symptomatic laparoscopy, is a careful analytic procedure used to examine the organs inside the stomach area. It's an okay, minimally invasive procedure that requires just little incisions. Laparoscopy utilizes an instrument called a laparoscope to take a gander at the abdominal organs. A laparoscope is a long, thin cylinder with a high-intensity light and a high-goals camera at the front. The instrument is inserted through an incision in the abdominal divider. Laparoscopic or "minimally invasive" medical procedure is a particular strategy for performing a medical procedure. Previously, this strategy was ordinarily utilized for a gynecologic medical procedure and for irk bladder medical procedure. In the course of the most recent 10 years, the utilization of this method has ventured into an intestinal medical procedure. In customary "open" medical procedure the specialist utilizes a single incision to go into the stomach area. The laparoscopic medical procedure utilizes a few 0.5-1cm incisions. Every incision is known as a "port." At each port, a rounded instrument known as a trochar is inserted. Specific instruments and an exceptional camera known as a laparoscope are gone through the trochars during the procedure. Toward the beginning of the procedure, the stomach area is inflated with carbon dioxide gas to give a working and viewing space for the specialist. The laparoscope transmits pictures from the abdominal pit to high-goals video screens in the operating room. During the task, the specialist watches point by point pictures of the guts on the screen. This framework enables the specialist to play out indistinguishable activities from conventional medical procedure however with little incisions.

#550 FLASHBACK time.. 1989 South Bangalore Interschool Sports competition.. Memories which I cherish forever... A BLOG with a personal touch.....:-)
On the occasion of Blog # 550 for #BoloorSportsMania, it’s time to recall another personal experience which had a great influence on me. Year was 1989. I was in 7th standard. South Bangalore Inter School sports competition were being held. Mahila Mandali school ( Yup, This school did not have Boys ;-) ) where I studied was in full spree in preparing for this event. 1 hour before school start and 1 hour post was allotted for preparation. Kho-Kho and Kabbadi was strength of this school. Our school had a strong team for these 2 events in 1989 too. I was not familiar with both these games as it was not played in my earlier school in Bhadravathi. Niranjan Damle, Subramanya, Subba Rao, Vijay Simha, Prashanth, Kumar and Nagaraj formed a strong Kabbadi team. Kho-Kho too boasted of Raghav, Subba Rao, Vijay, Rahul Desai and Prashanth. The Practice session was pretty intense. Our PT Master was pretty strict in making the school putting full effort in this sports event. We even had a sports consultant in the form of Holla Sir who was very close friend of PT master. Strategies and tactics to be adopted in each position was pretty exciting to see. Holla sir wanted the school to focus on few other games too. That’s when he formed a Relay running race, Long Jump, high jump and Shotput team. Trials was conducted for all these events. I somehow seemed to fare well in long jump which was rather surprising to me as well. Prashant was the other player who was selected. “20 footer” (not literally but felt like for all MM boys !!) Niranjan Damle was unanimous choice for High jump. Tarun who was pretty healthy KID (was weighing 55 in 7th standard!! ) was selected for Shotput . We even formed a Volleyball team though we clearly felt that we were just to make up for numbers in this event.
Coming to long jump, key aspect was to run with momentum and jump at the stroke of hitting the bar/line just before the long jump pit. It was very tough to get momentum and kick the jump at the right spot. Event was 2 months away. I was either overrunning or else not running with momentum. It took easily 3 weeks of practice to get the kick part going. After that it was just day in and day out practicing the same stuff. Me and Prashant used to practice 30 jumps per day for 6 full weeks. Same went for high jump too. As event came near, we started discussing on our competitors. National School in Basavanagudi clearly had the best team in Kho-Kho, Kabbadi and Volley ball. Event was conducted in their grounds too which worked in their favor.
On the D day of the event, PT Master took us to the ground by 8 AM. Lunch was snacks was arranged by school. Day started with prelims of Kabbadi and Kho-Kho. Mahila Mandali boys group easily won their preliminary games with ease. Even SF was literally one-sided. We had lunch. Bisibelebath and curd rice was served. One bowl each. I had stopped eating curds or for that matter any milk products since I was 3 years old. I used to get vomiting sensation whenever I had it. I was pretty hungry and 2nd bowl of bisibelebath was not served J . Well, this was much bigger challenge than long jump. I literally ate curd rice in 2minutes to avoid vomiting sensation. Actually, I started loving it. So I had my first curd rice at the age of 12. South Indians would call me mad. I was literally. In Kho-Kho and Kabbadi finals, they faced National School in both the event. Both were close encounters. MM school came up short in Kho-Kho but won the finals in Kabbadi. PT master was thrilled. I was thrilled too. In this excitement, I missed initial call in mike for long jump. PT master came chasing searching for me. He literally pulled me towards long jump. Long jump trial had started and I just made on last call. 2 chances were given before top 3 were given another chance for position of medal. 34 kids participated this event. I relaxed a bit. PT master was staring at me as if I had done some crime ;-) . I was angry and took all that anger on the run. My momentum and kick was with me as I jumped with yell of anger. I was 6 inches ahead of rest of the pack. PT master for some crazy reason was still staring at me J . He probably realized that making me angry was working. Crazy idea by the master. Myself and 2 players from national school entered finals. I had to make the first run and did extremely well though exactly can’t recall the length I jumped. Other 2 students were easily 4 inches behind me. Even before my name was announced, I was aware that I had won. Literally a loser in sport had won a gold medal in South Bangalore Inter school sports competition. I was going nuts. I ran around the entire ground in search of Holla sir who clearly was prime reason for my victory. He had a sugarcane candy ready for me near the team camp. Team was happy with results in Kho-Kho and Kabbadi and once my result was announced, we all yelled Hip Hip Hurray for literally 10 min without a break. At this moment, Tarun “STUD” Kumar came walking slowly announcing that he won gold in shotput. Yelling of Hip Hip Hurray continued for another 10 minutes post that. Even girls team won Kho-Kho silver. India fared poorly in relay and volleyball which was expected. All eyes were final event which was on high jump. Rest of the competitors looked tiny in front of 20 footer DAMLE. It was a tough fight though. Niranjan managed to win gold. We ended on a high. In the awards ceremony, we clapped for each other. We all walked back home tired but excitement was on. Mom and dad couldn’t believe it. Well, neither could I !!! .
2 months later, we had taluk level event. All Gold and silver medalist qualified. Unfortunately none of us reached even SF. We all were knocked out in prelims. It was not clear if it was due to lack of practice or competitors were far superior. It was probably combination of both. Since 7th exams were coming near, we practiced less. We all were probably a bit over confident. Competitors were better prepared as well. 80% of the long jump players had spike shoes. I had none. Don’t think that mattered but as a kid, I had felt that was the difference. I literally demanded spike shoes from my dad. But it cost none less than 1500 Rs which was massive amount in 1989. By the time this died down, final exams came near. I did fairly well thanks to extra supervision by my mom. Post that, Dad came with big piece of news of we moving to Chennai. Forget about spike shoes, I was literally ready to run in barefoot to stay back in Bangalore and in NR Colony to be precise. I couldn’t get to terms that I would probably never play in APS ground again. Life moved on. I got to learn the Tamil Swag, made some great friends and journey moved on. But memories of 1989 inter school sports competition would be in my memories forever.

Nurturing The Dream Of Competing In A Marathon Enduro Event – Baja1000
SCORE Baja1000 is an off-road race that takes place in Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. The first official race started in Tijuana, Baja California, on October 31, 1967, and was named the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally. In 1974, Baja California governor Milton Castellanos handed over sanctioning of the event to a non-profit Mexican corporation called the “Baja Sports Committee” (BSC). BSC found promoting Baja races more difficult than anticipated. Instead of giving up the race, the Mexican government requested help from Southern California Off-Road Enterprises (SCORE) in hosting and promoting future Baja races.
Gurpinder Singh Sarao, a.k.a. Nick to his friends, started racing at the age of 16 when he bought his first motorcycle—a Suzuki Shogun. As soon as the bike was in his hands he signed up for his very first rally, SJOBA, in Chandigarh. He took part in Raid De Himalaya on his Yamaha WR450 in 2009, 2010, and 2014 with podium finishes in 2010 and 2014. In 2002 Nick moved to Texas and started taking part in enduro races there. 2011 saw him embark a life-changing journey around the world on his BMW R1200 GS Adventure along with his wife. He covered 120,000 kms and traveled through 73 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, Central America, North America and Australia, over the course of almost 3 years. It was while he was traveling through South America, Nick had the opportunity of following the British team Race 2 Recovery in the Dakar Rally in 2014. Navigating through different countries, terrain and always taking the road less traveled made Nick realize that he wanted to compete in these terrains and not just travel through them. Baja1000 was something that Nick had been following for some time and set his eyes to ensure that a team from India made their presence felt during the 50th Score Baja1000. Whether it is to heal the soul or the ultimate chase to find joy in life, the potential to realize a dream can be intoxicating. The thing about Baja is, it takes on all comers. From the greatest racers in the world to the working-class man looking for a spark in life. The was taking shape in his mind.
The 2017 round will be the 50th SCORE Baja 1000, occurring from November 14–18 over a 1134.4-mile loop starting in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, and ending in La Paz BCS, Mexico.
The race will start from Ensenada (Baja California-Mexico), 65 miles south of US/Mexico Border. This year will see nearly 250 Entries from 30 US States and 30 countries competing on trucks, motorcycles, buggies and VW Beetles. The race is from Ensenada to La Paz (1134.4 Miles / 1825.6 kms – route changes every year) where each team is given around 48 hours’ time limit to finish the race through those thousand miles of treacherous terrain (different for each year). Every weather condition can come into play, from impenetrable fog to rain and extreme desert heat. It’s sort of a mix between Mad Max, the Dakar Rally and The Twilight Zone, attracting hundreds of racing legends, thrill-seekers, movie stars and rank amateurs to Northern Mexico to take on the longest non-stop point-to-point race in the world. Everyone has their sights set on crossing the finish line. But historically, only half will make it till there.
Nick started putting a together a plan to realize his dream. The hunt for a unique band of brothers who were joined by a common thread to push themselves to the limit, almost bordering on self-inflicted torture and a certain amount of lunacy. He was looking for riders with big hearts and even bigger balls!
He reached out to friends who were passionate about riding…extreme riding.
Relentless hunt and never give up attitude assured Nick was able to form a team comprising of:
Anand Dharamraj: A seasoned rider who has competed in some of the toughest rallies across India with multiple podium finishes. Anand raced three complete seasons at Willow Springs with podium finishes. An avid traveler with over 300,000 kms of touring experience covering India and around the world under his belt. Anand introduced the concept of track days in India through his company, Indimotard.
Aditya Devabhaktuni: Has ridden all across India, Europe and parts of USA. Aditya is a guest instructor at Apex Racing Academy and has had multiple top 5 finishes in various national level rallies and races.
Ilyas Bham: A seasoned rider with podium finishes at each of his 3 outings at Raid De Himalaya. Ilyas runs a private motorcycle riding school in Los Angeles.
Bhaskar Ramani: Rider with both competitive and touring experience spanning over 28 years. Bhaskar has ridden extensively in India, Southern Africa and USA.
Gurinder Rahal: A rider with guts of steel and a big heart, extremely patient with a strong willpower. Garry has been riding since he was 18 and has won events like Mountain Challenge, MASA Rally and Raid De Himalaya.
Apart from the riders, the team also had to finalize on someone who would lead the backup…someone with technical know-how, someone with relevant experience, someone as crazy as them! Prashanth PK a.k.a Prashi was approached. With over 24 years of riding experience, Prashi has finished on the podium of Raid De Himalaya and has traveled the length and breadth of India, he was the ideal person to take charge as the technical lead.
They say stickers and merchandise are almost equivalent to currency in Baja1000. A complete package would require someone who is not only a talented designer but has worked on similar projects in the past. Aniket Das, a talented industrial designer specializing in motorcycle design and motorsport graphics agreed to come onboard. His credentials speak for themselves…from starting out as CS Santosh’s graphic designer to working with the KTM Factory Racing and Speedbrain on Dakar motorcycles, Aniket knows what it takes to ensure top-notch marketing collaterals are in place.
Team in place, now the challenge that was staring them in the face was to look for a sponsor. Various corporates were approached, however, as has been the case in the past, none found motorsport to be a worthy platform! This only made the team’s resolution stronger and they pooled in from their savings to ensure that the Baja1000 Dream didn’t die. Garry agreed to give his KTM 500 XC-W, Nick agreed to prepare the bike for the grueling ride with Anand’s help. It was decided to run the team under the Indimotard banner with the objective: To be the first Indian Team in history to compete and complete the Score Baja1000.
During the course, it was decided that 2017’s participation will be documented properly to lay the foundation for upcoming “Privateer” Indian talent to be showcased on the world stage.
To sum up the life of a “Privateer” in the world of motorsports, “Some roads lead to one finding purpose and meaning. For some dedicated men and women, the pursuit itself is a vehicle to life‘s fulfillment. Through discipline and devotion, they have formed a permanent bond that thrives long after the green flag drops.”

Nagal rolls over Jaziri

Nagal rolls over Jaziri
Indian players enjoyed a good day at the office in the $162,000 Bengaluru Open ATP Tennis Challenger at KSLTA Stadium here on Tuesday.
While Saketh Myneni and Niki Poonacha knocked out higher-ranker opponents, Sumit Nagal underlined his class with a comfortable win.
Poonacha created a huge stir, taking out favourite Lukas Rosol 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 in the second round. Rosol, who famously upset Rafael Nadal in the second round of Wimbledon 2012, struggled to get going against Poonacha.
For Poonacha, ranked 937 places below Rosol, this was the biggest victory of his career. “I received a wild-card for this tournament, and I wanted to make the most of it. This win is a huge confidence boost,” the 24-year-old Poonacha said.
As the crowd began to swell in the evening session, Nagal took centrestage. Armed with a crushing forehand, Nagal whipped Tunisia’s Malek Jaziri 6-0, 6-4. Jaziri made the mistake of dropping too many short balls, which Nagal had little trouble dispatching for winners.
Nagal ran around the ball to get his forehand into play — a ploy that worked well. “My forehand is my strength. I’m not going to defeat anyone with a serve-and-volley game,” Nagal said.
The 22-year-old Nagal, however, must be worried about his weak serve, which conceded seven double-faults.
Jaziri, who reached a career-high world ranking of 42 only a year ago, made too many unforced errors. Jaziri was unhappy with a few line calls, but his protests had little impact on the outcome of the match.
Myneni, meanwhile, recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win over sixth-seeded Russian Evgeny Donskoy. Sasikumar Mukund was the rare Indian to disappoint, losing 5-7, 3-6 to Ilya Ivashka of Belarus.

Matt Murray gives Penguins highlight reel save after diving stick stop
Mark Letestu had an entire net to shoot at, and got stick instead.
After getting blown out of the water in their previous game by a score of 7-1, any save the Pittsburgh Penguins make at this point should be cause for celebration. On Tuesday, goaltender Matt Murray gave Penguins fans something to really cheer for with his best save of the season.
With Mark Letestu on the doorstep, Murray was able to slide across his net and bat the puck out of the air with just his stick alone.

The full video of the play is even wackier, as the entire series of events between the Penguins and Oilers should have resulted in a goal for Edmonton if not for the defense of Brian Dumoulin and Murray’s stops in net.
Murray was also real lucky not to bat the puck into his own net as he was diving across the crease to block the puck with his stick.

Murray hasn’t had the best of starts for the Penguins this year, as he came into Tuesday’s game with a .896 save percentage despite winning all five games he played so far this season.
While Letestu isn’t, say, Connor McDavid out there, Murray has been solid so far against the Oilers, as he’s stopped all 26 shots faced through two periods.
