“I am here for you”
(Idk why but people don’t appreciate varadha side of friendship enough. He literally went against his father’s order and gave away his biggest territory for his friend’s safety. He chose to be rather humiliated, looked down and disgraced by everyone than tell why he did that so his friend can be safe. that too for over 25 years(dyk how many days that is)and he was only a 10 years old child. When his father asked him if he knew the kadha’s value,of course he did why would not he? but there was something more valuable for him.His only friend. His Bestfriend. How was he suppose to measure it when he knows what deva means to him. He knew what would happen if he did that but still he gave it away like nothing cus nothing matters except deva to him.he had made his decision. He let his only friend go and he was ready if this meant to be their last meet if it means his friend would be safe and if it meant he had to be alone forever. His mother was no more, his father dishonored him,his step siblings hated him.He was alone raising his little brother. “A Child raising a Child” he went through so much hardship at such young age. He had to grew up an adult before he knew he was just a little boy. He had many people depend upon him at such young age. He couldnot just let himself get swept away and be carefree. He has responsibilities. If deva is ready kill and bury anyone before they try to even touch a strand of his beloved’s hair(lets say varadha😏), varadha is ready to give away his everything for his loved ones even if it means his life.)
#salaar#varadha rajamannar#prithviraj sukumaran#varadeva#devaratha raisaar#varadha is such an amazing character#his part of friendship is equally strong#idk what path rode to their friendship demise and idk what path will prashanth neel choose#but til now and how much we have seen of him#I just love the character Varadha. both the child actor and prithvi did such a wonderful job portraying the character and his emotions#when prithvi described varadha as a vulnerable character.#I got it. yes he is. the emotions he buried for so long makes him so emotionally unstable and we can see it#his sorrow runs so deep.#his buried emotions has become his nightmares but he still can’t show it all cus he can’t appear weak. he has to look strong#to his enemies and for the ones who depend on him#I want to give him a tight hug😭he is so alone now#varadha made me fall in love with prithvi guys😭best choice for Varadha lmty#I am sobbing now🥲🥲🥲#well I made two of this edit one for varadha and another for deva. THE STORY OF THE BEGINNING OF CREATION! ... -THE LONG STORY OF THE ORIGINAL SIN COMMITTED IN 'DEV LOK' ('THE LAND OF BRAHMA'), WHICH GAVE RISE TO THE CLAN OF THE HALF-BROTHERS OF 'DEVAS', NAMELY 'ASURAS', & THEIR 'ANTI REGIME' THAT FORCED THE BIRTH OF SHIVA-PARVATI 'S ONLY NATURALLY BORN CHILD, & ELDEST OF THEIR ONLY 2 CHILDREN (ALL OF THEIR OTHER CHILDREN REFERRED TO IN DIFFERENT TEXTS BEING F-A-L-S-E), KARTHIKEYA, 'THE GOD OF WAR', BORN WITH THE LIFE PURPOSE OF CONTROLLING THE ASURAS! .... - THE STORY OF SHIVA-PARVATI 'S ABANDONED 'KILLING MACHINE' SON, KARTHIKEYA', THAT GAVE RISE TO 'PATAL LOK' AND THE ONLY HUMAN-FRIENDLY SPACE IN IT, PLANET EARTH, AS THE DUST-BIN & DISTRACTING TOY FOR THEIR GONE-ASTRAY 'NEO ASURA' SON MURUGAN! ... THE REASON FOR THE NEED OF A REGULAR 'FRIENDLY APPEARANCE' OF ETHER SHIVA OR PARVATI OR GANESH AS 'AVATARS' ON PLANET EARTH, TO SET THINGS RIGHT FROM AGE TO AGE! ... - WHY GANESH HAD TO BECOME THE 'ELEPHANT GOD' AFTER ALL! ...- & WHO WAS VISHNU AFTER ALL !
Life, in any space within the realms, wouldv've been much simpler, had there been only Shiva at helm! Unfortunately just as on earth, the land of Gods is also governed, by a system we all too well know by now, as 'Democracy'.
Let's begin at the beginning. In which there were 2, Brahma & Shiva, one the 'manas-putra' or 'mind-child' of 'Parabrahma', named 'Brahma', the 2nd, the 'aatma-putra', or 'soul-child', named 'Shiva', as interplay of The Super-God's 4 outer & 4 inner levels/layers of being, respectively.
Both ideal beings & controllers of their given realms, Brahma beginning his own dynasty via his own 6 'manas-putras' (all stories of Brahma having a wife being false), Vishwakarma, Indra, Daksha, Kama, Narada & Agni! (VIDKNA!), & their consorts also created as the manas-putris of Brahma himself.
Shiva on the other hand given a 'aatma-putri' by 'Parabrahma' himself, in the form of 'Sati', as an equal level feminine creation-companion of Shiva himself (All spiritual texts referring to her as daughter of Daksha, being half-truths, Daksha only being her 'muh bola father'), & after Sati's self-immolation, of 'Parvati' as another of Parabrahma's 'aatma-putris'.
Brahma being the 'manas-putra' of the Ultimate creator, also being the creator of complications, Shiva on other hand, the destroyer of that complication when outta control, or in other words, the creator of solution & consequent simplicity.
As natural propensity, Brahma also being the originator of a dynasty or clan, while Shiva-Sati/Parvati being the ascetic loners, watching from afar w/o taking much part in the 'meanderings of life'.
Our story however revolves around the event that gave rise to the need for Shiva-Parvati to enter Brahma's world, & having to begin their own clan, outta force more than choice, to solve yet another headache emerging outta Brahma's 'creations'!
So Rishi Kashyapa was the son-in-law of Daksha (the 'manas-putra' of Brahma), & wedded to all 8 of Daksha's daughters, 2 of them, Diti & Aditi (incidentally the 2 from whom the words 'dvaita/dual' & 'advaita/non-dual' originate), being the 2 side-heroines for this story.
Aditi giving birth to & consummating, the clan of the 'advaitis', the finest among 'the clan of devas' or 'Brahma's children', being the cynosure of all eyes, a fame & adulation among family, that for very first time, gave rise to 'the original sin' of Hinduism- 'Sister Diti's jealousy'!
Causing Diti to go urge Brahma (since He alone, aside Shiva & Sati-Parvati, the original 3-4 to emerge outta Parabrahma, had the power to create life at will), to give her a son capable of defeating Aditi's kids. Per habit, that Brahma created, in the form of another manas-putra, called Vajranga, with adamantine limbs & the power to prey upon & win wars, not realizing the disastrous potential consequences which lay ahead from him!
Vajranga captured all the advaitis & even his uncle Indra & many of the devas, & threatened the existence of devlok itself, causing Brahma to interfere for once & ask him to release all his captives, which he duly did, apologizing thereafter for having done so only at the orders of his mother. Quick to be pleased, Brahma, seeing the dutiful (even if highly sinful) 'obedient son' he had created, in his excitement, granted him another boon in the form of 'a capable consort-match as wife', he called Vajrangi, Vajrangi, upon coming to life, & true to the 'qualities' granted a boon by Brahma himself, that performd severe penance, & upon pleasing Brahma, this time asked to beget a son, that would conquer both worlds, Dev Lok & Shiva Lok too!
A wish that left Brahma dumbstruck, for the very first time were any of Brahma's creations being asked for use, to disturb his 'half-brother' Shiva!
A wish leaving Brahma dumbstruck, for very first time were any of Brahma's creations being asked for use, to disturb his 'half-brother' Shiva himself! Bound by his own severe yet in end limited terms & conditions for granting of boons, Brahma was forced to grant Vajrangi's wish, in form of a son he called 'Tarakasura', 'protector of asuras', (the word 'Asura' likely emerging as the 'anti for 'Sura'', Sura being Aditi's fav & obviously advaiti sister), the clan of Diti or 'the dvaitis', with Tarakasura as the mightiest! Upon which rushed to Shiva with the dilemma, pleading with him to solve this craziest of all tangles! Since their aatma-putra wouldn't be naturally endowed with the qualities for controlling war-lord asuras, Shiva & Parvati are left with no option, but to bear a son outta natural procreation, knowing well, that such a son, would be born with all of their energies but none of their natural conscientious control, with lordship over first 4 levels, but none in next 4! That being the only single solution, from their side, that could defeat the all-conquering opposition! … And thus was born, Karthikeya! Per the Good Lord, as informed via meditation, in ~900,000 BC! True to in-born talent, Karthikeya would reign supreme over the marauding Asura clan, & bring them to their knees…albeit taking full 230,000 yrs in process! All this, making Parvati, aghast from afar, at what "her son" had become, & deeply longing a son that'd truly represent her, brings to life "her own aatma-putra', in form of sweet baby Ganesh, in ~680,000 BC!
Karthikeya returns home, to Shiva lok, as victor, but soon finds himself an unfit in this much deeper spiritual clime. One such episode, causing the forever change of imagery for not just Shiva lok, but also Dev lok's 'favorite God', Ganesh himself.
Ganesh & Karthikeya, engaged in spiritual talk one fine day, enter an argument, upon which Karthikeya moved to utter rage, at being, in his head,"purposely humiliated by Ganesh",chops off his own kid brother's head in a flash!
An episode, that indeed was to change 'existence' forever! For, moved to rage, & firstly deep concern for his son Ganesh's well-being, Shiva decides to provide his "constantly under threat" son with an elephant's head instead, making it much tougher for Karthikeya to chop it off in a flash, also giving everyone enough time for proper defense! And secondly, makes Shiva organize a special meeting with brother Brahma, to think up a solution to this 'unsustainable problem'. .. And 'tis from here, that emerges the novel idea of 'Patal Lok'. A place for all the 'fighters' from both sides, to reside in, & establish their own separate world, ofcourse under the ultimate control of Brahma & Shiva themselves, with a 'dedicated controlling authority for Patal lok' established in the form of 'Shiva's aatma-putra -Vishnu', a more centrist form of Shiva, to inhabit & control a more center-leftist realm of existence, naturally being a slightly more diluted form of Shiva as being borne off Shiva's soul!
This dedicated authority would of course be called upon to intervene when things went really outta control, all other routine matters to be co-managed by the 3 Goddesses/wives of Vishnu- Ganga, Lakshmi, & Saraswathi, (these 3 also incidentally being 'aatma-putris' of Shiva), & Shiva's wife (& also mother of Ganga, Lakshmi & Saraswathi), Parvati! - this, the Big 4 directly managing Patal lok!
Meaning to say- The entire human (birth-death) cycle is also controlled by these 4 Goddesses alone, & not Brahma.
And thus did Patal lok & Earth come into existence, 630,000 yrs back, as a refuge for Karthikeya from the Shiva clan (even if only it's outer energy), & 200,000/260,000 of the Asura/Dvaiti women from the clan of Brahma for his consorts, so to establish a balanced world order, separate from Dev lok (with the newly reconstituted mix of mostly Devi/Advaiti women & the Asura-Deva men combine), & Shiv lok with Ganesh & his head intact!
Aim- Till they all merge with the Super God, Shiva Himself!

Shiva in his form as Tripurantaka eliminated Tripurasura on this day. This day is also called "Dev-Diwali"—the Diwali of the gods. Kartik Purnima is also the birthday of Matsya Avatar. It is also the birthday of Vrinda, the personification of the Tulsi plant and of Karthikeya. Also is considered special for Radha, the lover of Krishna - Vishnu's incarnation. COMPARING SCENES FROM THE SAME DIRECTOR PRASHANTH NEEL WITH ROCKY X REENA IN KGF CHAPTER 2 VS DEVA X VARADHA IN SALAAR PART 1 CEASEFIRE
1. No way rocky and Varadha having the same confused but intrigued expression on their faces while Deva and Reena dragged them on their hands and set to bring them wherever they want to go as this strong headed character that their lover will follow anywhere they take them. Helppp
2. Varadha and Reena having the same wonder in their eyes as their lovers put the sacred jewelry on them and couldn't believe that this person in front of them could love them this much!
3. The way Reena and Varadha both jumping in their lovers' arms like a little kid argghhhhh the way Rocky and Deva trying to brace the impact and managed to keep themselves steady and protectively secured their clingy lovers in their strong arms immediately like??
4. Varadha and Rocky laying their heads on their respective lovers' lap help me as their loved ones pat them soothingly on their chests and run their fingers through their hairs !!
5. Possessively put your hand across your lover's body for what? Not once varadha did this in the entire movie, he just acted like Deva’s boyfriend most of the freaking time!
I see what you did there Prashanth neel, clear as a day 😭 I mean knowing his vision and how he directed certain action to show a progress in a romantic relationship in his previous movie then putting the same mindset while directing varadeva with similar shoot and point of view I think it should be an easy math to conclude what he actually meant by those scenes huh
THERE ARE MORE ON THE REBLOG BECAUSE PRASHANTH NEEL IS INSANE FOR THIS

Varadha and the bracelets that he threw away for Deva's sake and also later on in the permission of Deva after Deva basically suggested they should lit Khansaar in raging fire and throw everyone into the pit and in order to do so, Varadha had to let go the remaining bracelet on his hand and he did it because he believed in Deva because he was never scared when Deva was by his side never hesitate, deva basically is the source of his confidence and his strength. Like whatever belongs to Varadha it belongs to Deva as well 😭 (I know that in his heart Varadha believes that he belong to Deva body and soul too)
The way young Deva looked so saddened by the fact that Varadha had to throw his territory away for his sake I think in that moment he already vowed in his heart that he would give it back one day to Varadha. (Everyday I am just gonna go praise the young varadeva actors because they're acting so good. Like where's their awards)

Let’s talk about the first kill
How heavy everything was for Deva, and also for Varadha, their circumstances, the land they were born into, their people and their way of lives, their fates and how they eventually have to turned into this demon at some point, like their ancestors who always long for fight and blood.
The way Deva was regretful at the outcome of what he had done, of what he became, looking down tearfully and pitifully, his eyes wondering around trying to grasp the reality of it all, finally it dawned on him about what just happened, almost like he came back to his sense after losing control and going auto-pilot in killing spree.
This must be his first kill ever, because when he escaped Khansaar he was just a young boy and I bet living with Amma he mustn’t gotten into trouble that he need to kill anybody, perhaps he had gotten into a fight with someone over some misunderstanding, after all he’s a strong big man, but I am sure he didn’t need to go as far as killing anyone in his path.
He was just a blacksmith, hard laborer that did honest job for a living just to get by, though he probably always sparring in his spare time, preparing for something, for a war that he was sure that one day he would be called to but more than that again he never really need to kill anyone before.
And yet after he landed in Khansaar, it didn’t take him a week to kill, even Deva himself felt it heavy in his soul, the rage that he had kept inside himself, he finally unleashed it and let it consumed him fully because that kind of beast has always been dormant inside of him, because this land awaits for him to spill blood.
The way Deva look up like he was asking the deity or anything at all above that might look over him, “is this who I truly am? Why you created me this way, are you listening? Do you condemn the path that I chose to seek justice?” And after that I think he made peace with who he was, closing his eye and believed that he didn’t do anything wrong, that his action was justified, his rage was justified and accepted the fact with new clarity that a vengeful angry demon in his veins is needed to cleanse this violent land, the symbolism wasn't lost on me either here that Deva was fully covered in blood like he was baptized in blood and rebirth into this new person.
Gone was his "innocent", he was ready now to take the path that's truly meant for him, a path that nobody dare to take because it will consume him and he might lost himself completely in this road, as Nietzsche said "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." This is never easy for Deva. It's going to take tolls in his soul.
That's why later on when got into 2017 present deva we got glimpse of him being haunted by himself, the demon that he saw on the mirror, that even he couldn't recognize it and is scared of that reflection, even his mother was aware of his presence that she tried her best to re-tame it again by forbidding him from even getting close to anything that could be used as a weapon because it could and would awaken the sleeping beast.
Let’s also observed Varadha’s reaction when he finally opened his eyes to see what Deva had done, what he finally became, he was at the brink of crying because this was the same overwhelming side of Deva that Varadha remembered when they were young.
Varadha knew that Deva had it in him to turn into this kind of fearsome man. Varadha remembered that memory as clear as a it was just happened yesterday how Deva could frightened him by the intensity of the things he could do even beyond Varadha’s wildest imagination. This man is untamable beast and Varadha just brought him back to the place that literally would make him lost control.
That’s why Varadha tearfully told him in prison later on that he wished he didn’t bring him back to Khansaar, he regretted his decision because what Khansaar would do to a man like Deva.
Varadha said he knew that this is how it would end once Deva came back to Khansaar, what he meant by that was that he knew that Deva wouldn’t be able to hold back the way Varadha had done for the past 25 years living amongst the beasts who basically do whatever they want in Khansaar because the law only applies to the weak while the lords and people in power is basically can do anything and people would close their eyes over it but not his Deva, Varadha knew it all too well the kind of man his deva is in the face of injustice.
Imagine how many many times Varadha was at his last straw that he almost couldn’t endure it and wish he could call Deva back to fix, to fight, to change the tide of Khansaar but he hold himself back thinking that Deva would do great anywhere else but not here in Khansaar, this place is evil, too volatile for Deva’s hot blood and not to mention the history of how his people was massacred in this exact same land, that’s why Varadha only brought Deva back when he literally see no way out, not for himself but for his brother, he called him to protect the only thing that Varadha deemed Valuable in his life, because nothing else left for him in Khansaar, Deva and his hope and his love and his everything, he had brought it all with him long time ago.
That’s why I think Baachi’s death that we all knew and speculated was by Deva’s hand turn Varadha into entirely different person. 😭
.
.
PS. Anyone who said that Prabhas didn't emot much as Deva then tell me about the innocent Deva that played with kids and a good son to his mother, the tortured soul Deva haunted by his past, the Deva that was so devoted to Varadha, the Deva that's possesive, the violence Deva, the soft hearted Deva that's basically always have tears in his eyes, those are all in one movie 😭 my man is giving his best and people be blind about all of this just because they like to judge too quickly without actually trying to understand the material fully first. 😓

Varadha whenever he looked at Deva has this same expression on his face of longing, wonder and realization how much Deva meant to him and how much he loves this man that will do everything for him even without him even needing to ask. Varadha has loved Deva since they’re just kids because he often looks at Deva in disbelief whenever he does something for him like “why would he go this far for me? Why?” questioning the reason behind deva action and wondering if he deserved that much love and devotion or not and how could he repay him.

The only time we saw Varadeva laughing to their hearts content. (Especially Deva because We saw Varadha at least laugh again when he was drunk in front of Deva)
#varadeva#salaar#alse these babies playing all day together like they wore footwear before then they were barefooted in this scene like that’s cute as hell#also Varadha laughed again (maniacally) at Deva arrival at the bloodbath fight with the rabid zombie people#anyway both laugh was not to show happiness! so it's still stand that these are literally the only time they both laugh happily!#laughing#happiness#🥺#karthikeya dev#videsh anand

The tenderest scene
I love him from the very beginning, It was instantaneous the moment I laid my eyes on him, Immediately after the first smile I swear on my soul to protect him, through all the trial and tribulations through all the hardships this world might offer. My baby slithered his way into my hardened heart. Showing me all the colors through grey and sorrow. He was mine and I was his, two young innocent souls untouched by any of our people expectations.
The warmth of his hand against my own never fade away. How much I wish I could turn back time where my sweetheart was happy and carefree, where I could hold his hands once again to whatever place he wants to go along the lonely Khansaar roads.
I will be his Salaar to fulfill his every wish. No constitution no law only my devotion and loyalty. He is my Sultan eternally reigning in my heart.
#salaar#varadeva#varadha rajamannar#devaratha raisaar#A little poetry or whatever this was called lmao because it doesn't even rhyme but I want to write something for this most tender scene#poetry#my poem#perhaps Deva wrote it in his diary or wherever and Aadhya found it and Deva was like furious don't touch other people stuff he said#he was embarrassed actually he wrote it 2 years after he left Khansaar and missed Varadha like crazy#karthikeya dev#videsh anand

Varadha wouldn't have reached 40s if Deva didn't leave Khansaar because how much stress he would have experienced daily because Deva keep putting himself in danger even though he already begged him not to. Especially seeing how people be treating Varadha like shit every single day it's either Deva died young for protecting Varadha's honor or Varadha have a heart attack whenever Deva just run off fighting anyone who dares to challenge him lmao I mean look at the poor boy he was so stressed out! When he realized that Deva wasn't standing beside him anymore when he talked with Rudra lol he was so panicked like where the hell was my boyfriend going and sprint in instant trying to catch up to him no way he was doing what I thought he would do.
Varadha is indeed not like any other bestfriend a hero would have in another kind of movie where they usually would have cheered or encouraged his friend at first if they got into a fight or anything but not with Varadha, he has this love interest concern when a hero got into a fight, afraid for their safety and wish they didn't have to do that in the first place.
Also I need to include the video clip for this because the way Varadha was dropping to his knees and then calling Deva with the softest "Deva" I have heard from him like he's calling him from the afterlife pulling him back to life by his voice alone because there's no way he's allowing him to die and leave him behind in this wretched place.
The way Varadha gritted his teeth, grabbed on his shoulder so tightly till his knuckles literally turned white and punched Deva's chest with all his might so his heart will not stop, he was so so scared that he might lost Dvea. Varadha is not going to let Deva die on his watch. Gosh the love that they have for each other ever since they were young making it hard to believe that one day they would want each other's death. It's just didn't add up.
