I’ll often leave my car doors unlocked or my windows down when I’m going into a store because as long as I have my wallet and my phone with me, there’s nothing even worth stealing in my car.

Sometimes I’ll have groceries in there that I don’t take in the house right away though, like cat food/litter, laundry detergent, toilet paper, or whatever. And imo, if someone is desperate enough to steal something like that out of a car, then… they can just have it. I’ll take the L and just assume they were in need, and not just being greedy and/or cheap.

And as long as no one steals my actual whole car, all is good, lmao.

#my phone is like the most expensive thing I own tbh #so as long as I have that I’m good #half the time even if my wallet got stolen with my debit card in it #there’s like a total of five dollars in my account #no one’s getting any big pay day by stealing MY debit card lmao first purchase you make will get declined #text

yooooo im back has gege killed anyone new in the meantime

#also the trip was crazy #i traveled with my friend but went alone to the tool concert #the concert was incredible i cant believe i saw them live after 10 yrs of listening to them #and they played my all time fav song!!#then i went on a canal cruise in amsterdam with a friend and since we are so smart we picked an open boat #and ofc it started POURING 15 mins into the cruise #let me tell you we were drenched even my underwear was completely wet lmfao #and then the day after we went on a train to luxembourg and my friends backpack got stolen #she left it in the overhead compartment behind her and couldnt even see who took it #thankfully her passport phone and debit card were elsewhere #so only her makeup and her guess bag and id card and 100 eur got stolen (and some other random things like hair dryer)#we were still sad about it tho #that day sucked but the rest of the trip was great #personal shit

You know how when somebody steals your debit card information, they'll sometimes make a series of very small purchases to check if your card works? Like $1-$5? Somebody did that to me this weekend and I had so little money in my account that they managed to overdraft it just doing that.

Fortunately I use a credit union that won't hit me with nightmare fees for a fraudulent overdraft, and I'm housing/food secure, so instead of this being a huge deal it's an exhausting but ultimately minor annoyance. I am also mildly entertained by the thought of whoever this was going to the effort of getting my card info only to buy a couple of songs/apps/gacha pulls or whatever on the apple store and immediately running out of money. Hope you got your my money's worth, buddy.

#Snail babble #credit card fraud #debit card fraud #I don't know how they got my info but I hope the cost was somehow greater than what they got out of it #you snag my wallet and the moths that fly out start nibbling on the dollar bills in your wallet #it's probably related to the hospital where I had a major surgery getting all their supposedly secure client information stolen #including HIPAA protected info #because of their incredibly careless data handling practices #there was a class action lawsuit over it but all I got out of it was free use of a credit score checking program #I've changed my card info since then but I had 0 cases of identity theft before that happened and I've had 3 since then #it's actually kind of terrifying if I think about it for too long #because there's a strong possibility the people who stole that info were specifically targeting trans patients
