We have had a lovely weekend at Stockton Heath Festival offering free drama workshops to young people aged 5+! This was our second year at the festival and we did two sessions on Saturday 2nd July which were great fun! We introduced the young people to drama and storytelling, using random props and costume as inspiration for our stories. We firstly experimented with the different items, everyone picked one item and reimagined it into something different. We had a tin can which became a drum, an apron became a superheroes cape and a spoon became a pen. They were then spilt into small groups and choose one item. It was explained that these items were now magical! As a group they decided what magic the item held and created mini scenes which showed the story of this item. We had magical beans which either made you every tall or every small, a magic wand which turned people into frogs and a magic carpet which could fly you anywhere! We can’t wait to return next year!
