West Wycombe Hill, Dashwood mausoleum and St. Lawrence's Church 

The views from the top of West Wycombe Hill make the journey to the top well worth it, but trust me you want good walking shoes on because if it has been raining the route gets super slippy. Both St. Lawrence's Church with its iconic golden ball (more on that shortly) and the Dashwood Mausoleum can be found perched atop of the hill. The Dashwood mausoleum was built from local flint in the 18th Century and has since housed the remains of several members of the Dashwood family. Apparently the mausoleum also hold an urn containing the heart of Paul Whitehead - a poet, and steward of the Hellfire Club. Now back to the golden ball, the ball on top of St. Lawrence's Church not only makes the Church stand out as a landmark but was reportedly one of the meeting places of the Hellfire club -apparently you could fit up to ten people in there! -RoxyB 

It’s probably best to stick to the footpath rather than bushwhacking it to the top of the big hill, as this could possibly lead to words of discontent from your significant other. Why do rich people love to show off even when they are dead? Madness. -TommyC 

Opening hours: West Wycombe Hill is open 24/7. The Dashwood mausoleum is not open to the public however you can visit the site 24/7. St. Lawrence's Church Is open for services and on Sunday's. 

Cost: Free. 

Side note: There are two visible paths leading up West Wycombe Hill, a steeper more direct route or the more well trodden, longer but shallower route. I recommend following the oath most travelled - the ground is slippy, the route is steep and if you take the most direct route you are likely to get stuck in brambles half way up.
