Sniper and Scout realizing they like you!

Scout

You and Scout had always gotten along. Eversince the day you met, his rambles would consist of many different topics, making you able to freely talk to him about anything. Though it may have been tiring sometimes, it was all worth it.

After some time, there wasn't a time when Scout wasn't talking to you. For him, it felt good to have someone listen to him. And when you started to match his energy, you became unseperable.

Your bond became stronger when he let you prank his teammates (specifically Spy) and when he talked you into playing baseball with him. Scout hadn't had a friend like you, like, ever, and he wanted to make the best out of your friendship.

Then he announced that he had organised a day for you two to spend together. To be fair, the schedule was messily written on a crumbled paper and neither you or Scout himself could decipher what it said.

So, you just went wherever your heart took you. You walked through a room with a pool table? You played for a little bit. Walked into the kitchen? Took some snacks for yourself. Spotted an unsuspecting co-worker? Pulled a prank on them.

This went on as the hours passed by, you didn't even notice that you had basically skipped lunch and that it was getting a bit late.

Though baseball and messing with other people was fun, you both suddenly didn't want to do anything. You had ran out of options of what to do, either something seemed done to hell or straight up boring.

So, you decided to watch a movie together, putting a tape on the living room tv. Because of the long day you two shared, you collapsed onto the couch, letting your limbs fall wherever.

"Damn, today was fun!" You said with a tired smile.

"You can say that again!" Scout replied, putting on the film before coming over to the couch.

He let himself fall on the couch, joining you. You both melted into the cushions, your arms slightly grazing together.

The movie turned out to not be so good, it failed to catch your interest, and when it did, you couldn't pay attention for long. It was the same for Scout, he could hardly understand the movie because some parts just went through one of his ears and went through the other.

Your eyelids were heavy and it was hard to keep your eyes open. You desperately tried to remain awake, trying to show that you still had some energy in you. Scout, too, had nearly closed eyes and yawned a lot. He tried to keep himself from falling asleep by stretching every once in a while, but it didn't help.

After a particular yawn, you couldn't keep your eyes open and, without even noticing, you slipped into sleep. Meanwhile Scout had already secretly fallen asleep as well.

The next morning, Scout woke up, and then he realized he was pushed into the cushions and was laying on his back. He yawned only to feel pressure on his chest and finding it more difficult to breathe. His eyes widened, thinking another one of Medic's birds was in his chest.

And then he saw you, your cheek pressed against his chest. Your arms were wrapped around him in a close but loving hold. Your expression was relaxed and it looked like you had peacefully fallen asleep on him.

Scout yelped before shutting his lips, realizing he might wake you up. Once he saw you were still sleeping, he let out a sigh of relief before looking at you again. As he looked at your still figure, he couldn't help but blush at the closeness. Sure, you spent a lot of time together and knew each other better than anyone else but this?

Is this okay? I mean, it's just a simple hug, just...more close, that's all. They hug me all the time, why would this be different? They probably accidentally slid onto me and thought I was a pillow. When they wake up, it will all be back to normal.

Scout thought about moving you off of him and softly grabbed your shoulders, but seeing how comfortable you were he gave up and decided to not disturb you. He tried to test the waters and kept his hands on your shoulders, hoping to keep you close.

Scout felt his heartbeat fasten as he admired your features. Your hair looked so soft now that he was this close to you. Your cheeks and face looked so perfect as if angels had put it together. Your eyes, even though they were closed, were the most beautiful thing to him at that moment. He could just imagine you looking up at him with a smile, making him flustered.

I've never seen them be so beautiful...Have they always been this good looking?? I mean, I guess I never noticed...but now that I do...they're like...the most perfect person- wait what am I thinkin'?? Not that they're not perfect I mean- They're the best but not like that, we're just friends! Right?

Come to think of it, you understood Scout. Not like you just shared interests, no, it was a more deep, emotional connection he's never felt towards someone before.

It didn't matter how many times he repeated it to himself in his head, he liked this. While it could turn akward the second you wake up...this felt nice.

The freakout within him calmed down though he still seemed to be thinking. Okay, this is a bit akward but...what if it wasn't? Could you both enjoy this? What if this was a regular occurance? Wait no, that's what lovers do.

Scout looked at you again, re-imagining himself waking up to you cuddling him. It was a beautiful scene in his mind. Just you two, waking up next to eachother when the sun hits your closed eyes.

Now he had no choice but to figure out how to explain that he likes you and wants to be more than just friends.

Sniper

Though it took you a while to get Sniper to open up to you, it was definitely worth it. This was usually through small, short conversations between you when it came to your opinions about something. Who could have thought you, a normal person, and him, a lonesome weirdo, had some things in common!

Still slightly sceptical of you, he decided you invite you to his sniping nest, just to be in each other's company.

After you had cracked him, it was game over. He let himself info-dump onto you whenever the topic was about something that he cared for and knew a lot about. Both of your favourite moments were when Sniper gave an unusual or eye-widening fact and you could have a good laugh about it.

No matter how much he told himself that he was a professional, he always said yes to your hugs. It may have been akward the first few times because he's not used to getting hugged but he warmed up to it. If he had a good day, a regular day or a bad day, your sweetness would cheer him up. The gesture made him feel seen and appreciated.

One day, after lunch, he drove you out into the woods to just explore the wilderness. It was a great oppurtunity to bond as you went right through everything that was in your path. Bogs, swamps, mud, nothing stopped you when you had eachother's backs. It was also when Sniper could rant to you about nature again.

As the sun seemed to be lower to the horizon you decided to head back to the camper. And when you did, you sat down and realized how tired you had both gotten from all the walking. So, after eating some soup from a can, Sniper invited you to the top of his camper to watch the stars.

Sniper brought some pillows and a blanket that you would both share and got comfy as the moon rose. Darkness creeped in as stars became more shined over you. You looked up to the sky and Sniper pointed out some constillations, explaining everything he knew about them.

His voice was low, soothing. That, combined with the fact that it was night time and you were exhausted from exploring, made you feel sleepy. It seemed like Sniper wouldn't last for much longer either, he yawned in the middle of his sentences. And then he ran out of things to say, making you both lay in silence. Just when you thought you'd be able to admire the sky, you let your eyelids shut and fell asleep. Sniper quickly followed.

The next morning, he slightly writhed as he felt himself wake up, the hard roof of the camper not seeming so comfortable anymore. He opened his eyes, seeing mostly darkness because of his hat blocking the sunlight.

He squinted his eyes, furrowing his brows, before deciding to rub his eyes to seem more awake. He reached towards his face only to realize his arm grazed something right beside him. With a confused expression, he slightly lifted up his hat to get a better look.

What Sniper saw made his eyes go wide open. You had cuddled up to him, face nuzzled in his side. The mere sight of you being so close to him made him wide awake.

What didn't help was the fact that he had an arm around you to pull you in closer to him until he went to rub his eyes.

Wait, what!? How long have they've been this close to me!? Why are they cuddled up to me!? And why did I wrap my arm around them!? They're my friend!

Needless to mention, he went red in the face and it felt like his whole body slightly shook at how flustered he was. It confused him how content you looked while being so close to him.

All your previous hugs and other gestures were out of kindness and happiness. So, it fumbled him how you seemed to enjoy his body like a warm pillow in a cold night.

He could see how hard his heart beat in his chest by looking at how your hand moved. But after slightly calming down, he still had no idea what to do or think.

Was it too cold for them? They just needed warmth, right? I was just the nearest source of warmth, that's all. There's no way they'd do this intentionally...

In that moment, Sniper seemed lost as he looked at you. Your features made you seem so content, so comfortable, so warm. Yout hair was slightly fuzzy and almost made Sniper want to touch it. Despite being confused, he suddenly realized how truly beautiful you are.

Not to mention, you were someone who truly understood him. You could tell each other everything about anything. He could talk to you without getting the anxious feeling that he doesn't fit in. And it really brought out the vulnerable side of him. A side that he could trust to show you. You could be the one for him.

After that thought, he pulled his hat over his head again, but didn't fall asleep. Instead, he decided to think for a bit. About what? You. Him. You and him together. His job, his life, his parents. Everything. He's just a bit lovestruck.

He placed his arms in a bit of a strange manner to avoid being accused of cuddling you back and sort of heaves the akwardness onto you when you wake up. (But you'll both get to that soon enough)

IVE PUT THIS OFF FOR SO LONG..... Im gonna be honest my linzer lore is a LOOT to explain so i think that the best way to explain it would be to just give a shorter summary X]

(rbs ok!) SO. this all began from the way that linzer just gets like a prophetic dream in the middle of the holiday express event and it NEVER GETS EXPLAINED?? so i gave it an explanation! though it is more fun than just linzer getting simple visions of the future <3

SO. for those who dont know linzer shes a famous author who is most known for her detective novel series with a character named miss waffle :]c

while i DO think linzer still writes creative stories the miss waffle series is practically a diary where she retells her own experiences being miss waffle!!! Her consciousness is linked between two different alternate universes which i have dubbed universe A and universe B (Averse and Bverse for short) :] how it works is linzer falls asleep in Averse, then wakes up in Bverse as miss waffle, and vice versa. the timelines are in sync of course though the events dont happen at the same time as shes experiencing it - she only switches when she loses consciousness, so if shes asleep for lets say 8 hours in Averse time, she will still wake up 8 hours later, even if she was awake for 19 hours in Bverse. therefore, it could be monday when she falls asleep in one universe and then she wakes up on a friday in the other universe !!! (i hope this makes sense, im not sure how else to explain it but it makes sense in my head FHDSJFKD)

Universe A is of course my headcanon universe though universe B is actually twizzly gummy's universe :]c everything there is Majorly Fucked Up so somehow even though all of the miss waffle books are real stories people often call them dramaticized HFSKJHJDS

SO. The timelines are hardly ever in sync, and even when they are, its INCREDIBLY rare for the same events to occur, especially in places where linzer would be affected by them. when she got the "vision" of the train she had actually woken up from Bverse shenanigans and realized that the situation was nearly identical to the one she was in now ,,, so she was able to predict what would happen next hehe

i will make another post talking abt like my hcs for how this changes her personality n morals and relationships and such and of course im always open to talking abt the other Universe B characters (i do have quite a few ideas) but im going to stop typing before i burn myself out writing HFKJDSHJSKFHS asks with questions/comments are very appreciated and TYSM FOR THIS ONE ANON /GEN !!!! :3333

so i hc that phobos didn't actually get banished at the end of MPN, but he did get his ass handed to him to the point where he was so injured and drained of energy that he couldn't use most of his abilities. he went into hiding for a while and eventually found the AAHW, which he proceeded to join since he didn't really have anywhere else to go. after he'd healed and returned to his full strengh the auditor recognised how potentially useful he could be as a second in command, but ofc he'd have to earn her trust first. normally i don't try to make things make sense like this but since the auditor isn't actually in MPN i thought i'd at least try lmao

the auditor: ruthless girlboss by day, feral spouse-adjacent shithead by night

phobos is basically the same but instead he's manipulate mansplain by day and malewife manwhore by night /hj

before they got closer they'd never really physically interacted w/ each other, so phobos kind of assumed the auditor would be at least slightly painful to touch [cuz yknow. she's made of fire lmao]. plus he'd witnessed her setting things and people on fire with her bare hands before and he'd rather not get turned into a walking bonfire, thanks. the closest she'd ever been to touching him previously was like flicking the antenna on his helmet to piss him off

but like way, WAY later he finds out that audi can actually manipulate the temperature of their flames to an extent, so when they touch his hand for the first time he's really surprised when they're just like. pleasantly warm. kinda like the fuzziness you feel after you drink something hot but on the outside of your body

however this has also resulted in phobos using her as a mobile safety blanket lmao. sometimes if it gets too cold in the office he'll wander up to her and bug her until she folds a wing around him and tucks his head under her chin

when he's being a shithead sometimes she'll just pick him up by the back of his jacket and drag him off like a disobedient kitten lmao

They don't really have a super crazy height difference normally [i hc that audi is around 6'3 and phobos is 5'10 if he's not slouching] but sometimes she just morphs herself to have a several-foot height advantage just to fuck with him. like she'll appear in his office as this 9-foot-tall behemoth and he'll just be like "?? excuse me?? ma'am?? you can't do this to me???"

before he got to know her better, phobos had no idea the auditor preferred she/they pronouns over they/it like the agents around him seemed to think. he never made a big deal out of it and never explicitly brought it up, but he remembers to switch it up for her every now and then. plus whenever audi overhears him doing that she gets all fuzzy inside sfbfnckvj

phobos really likes her wings. he actually might be a little jealous of them, but he'd never tell her that sfvngk

ever since audi found out about this, they tend to subtly unfurl them and use them to gesticulate more when he's around. occasionally she'll use the claws at the peaks of her wings on touchscreens in place of a finger n stuff. she's also [gently] swatted him upside the head with a wing a few times when he was being a dickhead, but it doesn't really hurt him lol

she also lets him pet them when they're not busy. contrary to what he'd assumed, it doesn't actually feel like a whole lot to her - she's described the feeling as something similar to how it feels to have someone tracing their fingers along the back of your hand

phobos stims sometimes!! he has a bad habit of masking while he's working since a few of them are vocal and he doesn't want to distract anyone, but if he's just hanging out with audi he's totally chill. one of his more common ones is when he thinks out loud, either quietly narrating his current train of thought or saying unrelated words - usually confirmations like 'yeah' or 'mhm' - out loud cuz he thinks they're fun to say. occasionally he'll start humming low in his throat kinda like a microwave cuz he likes how his voice feels in his chest

also when he's standing idle sometimes he holds his arms closer to his chest and fidget with them

the auditor doesn't stim, but to people who know them well their wings are like big signs that can wordlessly describe how they're feeling [which is like my favourite thing to write cos wing emoting is really fun skdjbknk]. occasionally they might subtly flutter their wings when they're very pleased or receive good news, or flare them out when they're irritated/stressed

i always forget that phobos is actually like super powerful in canon so i hc that audi does too lmao. like it always slips her mind that he can teleport too so she'll dramatically disappear after telling him off for doing some dumb shit and fuckin scream when he somehow appears in the same room as her less than a second later

phobos has a red and black lava lamp in his office!! he'd never admit it but he got it cuz it reminds him of audi :]

phobos loves watching audi in combat for some reason. i mean he already likes watching them do stuff so he can backseat drive, but he's also quietly admitted that her fighting style is interesting to watch

he can't really put it into words, but it's because the way they fight looks incredibly effortless and fluid, mainly due to them having so much time to adapt to and understand their powers [both their original powers and the ones granted by the halo]. when phobos' own abilities started to surface he was incredibly unstable and struggled to properly harness them for months, so he thinks it's nice to watch someone who actually knows what they're doing for once.

much to the auditor's surprise, phobos is actually a bit insecure behind all that confudence, particularly about scars. after being close to her for a while, phobos came out of his shell a bit and explained how he managed to grant himself his powers/abilities, which is something i'll absolutely go further in depth with later [via a longer hc that i'm gonna post eventually lol] but to summarise he basically infused himself with raw madness in what he's eloquently dubbed 'the incident'. Of course, doing that to himself didn't come without consequence, and he's permanently scored with a variation of lightning & burn scars on his forearms, thighs, and most of his torso.

for the longest time, the most casual thing he'd wear even around just her was the long-sleeved sweater he wore underneath his trench coat, and he refused to change even if he was literally overheating. though eventually after he told her about what happened he felt way more comfortable and now whenever they're in their shared room audi practically has to throw a shirt at him to get him to wear one sbkcjcnk

the auditor has a sort of subspace/pocket dimension where they can store different items and recall them at will. normally it's pretty empty, but ever since she grew to like phobos she's started keeping miscellaneous things in there for him. sometimes she pulls out a drink or snack that he likes, sometimes she pulls out a little water gun with phobos' name scrawled on it and shoots him with it when he's being a shithead

they are both,, SO fucking touch-starved. like they will not let go of each other [at least if they're not currently in the middle of something or around agency employees] cuz internally they're both just going "wow!!! that's a hand i'm holding!!!!! there's a hand holding my hand!!!! wow!!!!!! i love this!!!!!"

having one eye isn't exactly the best thing for depth perception, especially when you're really tired, so sometimes audi has to hold phobos' hand and guide him around in the mornings because he can [and has] walked into walls and counters

even since before they became a thing, phobos had been a little envious of the auditor's halo and the powers it granted her. he used to subtly try to yoink it from her, maliciously at first but far more playfully later, where he'd like lightly grab it and give it a gentle spin above her head like a mobile. but his infatuation with the halo kinda died after she decided to let him borrow/try it out once by allowing him to link with it

by linking i essentially mean like wearing it, but the halo is so powerful that you can't just 'wear' it without letting it bond with a part of you

long story short, he went into it with far too much overconfidence & cockiness and the halo violently rejected him, kind of like how it rejected the auditor once. he wasn't at all prepared for the sheer amount of power that surged through him the moment it started to link with him, so it essentially short-circuited his brain and knocked him unconscious for the better part of a week. when he woke again, the auditor told him he was lucky his head didn't explode and calmly suggested they never tried that again, and he felt inclined to agree.

of course, he still toys with the halo while the auditor's properly linked with it since he knows it can't link to more than one host at a time. and despite his seeming ease and "it's in the past" sort of mentality about the whole event, if someone mentions the concept of him actually taking the halo and linking with it again, he'll shudder and shake his head, saying it's not his place to do so.

the auditor has no doubt it delivered a pretty harsh blow to his ego [being rejected by the thing that would make him a god would prolly do that], but knows he's too prideful to admit that.

audi likes listening to phobos when he goes off on super long monologues, especially if they're like those super cheesy villain monologues. like he could literally be talking about anything and she'll sit there to hear him out, especially if it's less related to work and more about himself

the auditor is super deliberate in the way they pronounce things and they tend to casually drawl their words out to further cement their cool, unbothered boss persona. however the way she talks doesn't really intimidate phobos anymore since he's also been next to her right after she's been woken up, when she's mumbling quietly & slurring some of her words together. he knows the big scary boss side of the auditor is just a persona used for everyone but him, so he feels a lot more at ease with them even when they're trying to be scary

even after being together for a while, phobos still has no fucking idea what the auditor is made of. like he's admitted to her that he's genuinely clueless, and if she lets him he'll spend like 99% of their downtime quietly interacting with her flames [read: curling his fingers through them and petting them] while he muses about his hypotheses for how stuff like her liquidy-shadow form works. they were a little suspicious of his motives at first, but after they relaxed they realised he was just genuinely curious and willing to share his concepts to see if he was right

they have like. the smoothest banter anyone at the agency has seen. like it's super cheesy back-and-forth stuff that wouldn't sound out of place in an 80s sitcom, but it just kinda flows out when they're both comfortable. and ofc they'd deny it if anyone mentioned it but they literally banter like an old married couple lmAO

Thank youuuu!!!!! And I’ve actually always drawn erasermic super sporadically! They’re one of my main ships in the fandom honestly, but since they’re sorta hard to draw for me I rarely end up drawing them? I do still love them with all my heart tho! You can expect to see more of them in the future, for sure ;u;

Sorry this took me an age to answer - I have answered this question a while back, I think it might be in my art tips tag! But to go through it fast, my process is something like

find a line or an exchange I want to deliver, or a topic I want discussed (usually happens randomly as I’m doing other things)

spend a million years just staring at a wall or at my ceiling or anything else as I build a whole scene in my mind to have the lines or topic take the form of an actual comic (might take two minutes, might take a month)

draw a rough sketch of the whole comic - I do this with all panels (and pages, when I separate a comic in pages) on the same canvas, so that I can look at the whole scene all together and get a good sense of the general flow of the storytelling. This process includes cutting panels, moving panels around, reshaping panels, trying different poses and angles for the same panels to find the right one, writing and deleting and re-writing lines till I’m sure the wording is what I’m going for*

line the panels - I mean the actual panels, the straight lines delimitating the panel, I line them all first and put them on a separate layer

line the people!! All the characters in every panel are lined in this stage

line the backgrounds! In case there are backgrounds and the comic is meant to stay in black and white, if not then color the backgrounds! (I always start coloring from the backgrounds cause they’re the boring parts and if I leave them for last I never do them ever #rip)

in case of black and white comics, we fill in flat, gray-scale colors at this point (or, as I’ve lately started doing, I only put down shadows and leave it at that). If it’s in colors, we color the people!

Write down the dialogue!! *at this point we change a lot of the dialogue again because enough time has passed since I sketched it that I changed my mind on everything, don’t be like me

you’re done!

All of it is done on one single canvas, unless it’s a comic with separate paneled pages in which case they’re all done on their own canvas but still drawn all together. That’s about it, hope it was at least a little bit useful!
