Wheelchair users use the word “walk” all the time when talking about how we get around! For a lot of people it feels like a natural part of speech and gets the point across fine. And I can’t believe I have to say this but it’s absolutely never ever ever an invitation to accuse (jokingly or not) someone of faking being disabled.

Context means that the following sentences all make sense about me:

I can’t walk, I can’t even weight bare.

I love going for walks!

The shops are in walking distance from my flat

I walk home from the station instead of calling a taxi!

All the wheelchair users I know will casually describe walking (or running) places in their chairs, and I’ve only met a couple of people who will regularly say “push” or “roll” or “drive” and usually only when making a point about using a chair.

And whatever you do don’t be like the smart arse station employee who “jokingly” said I must be like a TV character who famously pretends to be disabled because I said the station I was going to wasn’t far from my flat so I just walk home instead of getting a taxi.

Watching the GOP trying to pivot and find targeting on Kamala that the Average Voter™ would agree with is hilarious. Jafar making Jay steal is because there's no magic and wealth is now the only semblance of power that can be found on the island but also isolation because you can't trust anyone - until Jay wins the MVP trophy and realizes that trusting his friends makes a great difference.

And the EQ reducing Evie's worth to beauty not only references the whole "Fairest of Them All" thing but also magic/knowledge was not a guarantee of power, but 'beauty' was what mattered most and why Snow White survived being poisoned; and yet that fails Evie because Chad is the worst but the one person who encourages her no matter what is the son of a dwarf.

Fuck Cobra Kai for its continued portrayals of sexual harassment and sexual assault with no consequences or discussion of it whatsoever within the show.

Fuck the creators - Jon, Josh, and Hayden - for brushing past clear SA scene and a ton of other problematic things (racism, misogyny, etc.) for a laugh, or to make it a dramatic plot device that is never addressed again, or to give the message that men cannot be victims of sexual assault, or to give young viewers the wrong message about consent and how it applies to alcohol/drugs.
