my thoughts: ahh, 2012 era Avengers, my beloved. This was lovely, just how lost Steve is and how Tony reaching out a hand is all he really needs. I loved it.

my thoughts: I love this fic. It’s one I’ve read before but I just love how innocently confused Tony is about Steve not liking his bots and how filthy it went from there. It’s so very in character for both of them.

23. how do you deal with writers block?

I generally have 3-4 wips at any given point so if I'm stuck on one, I usually turn to one of the others and spend a few days working on that. It doesn't help when I'm stuck on all of my wips, but that's when I like to do those little 20-minute writing sprints. Even if I wind up not liking the words I wrote during those 20 minutes, it usually helps get the gears moving so I can get down more words.

47. what story are you most proud of?

This is one of those answers that changes on a weekly basis. Currently, despite the hate I got for it, I'm still very proud of All Too Well. It's the fastest I've ever written a long fic, I did a ton of research on the New York school system, and I worked incredibly hard on it. I stepped way outside my comfort zone, and I'm very pleased with the end result.

73. how do you visualize scenes? do you see it like a movie in your head, or do the words just flow?

Both.

There are particular scenes that I write that I can very vividly picture in my head like a movie. I've got one that I wrote for an upcoming stevetony rodeo au. It's the opening scene, and I can picture the lights in the arena turning on and people getting out of their cars, boots and jeans hitting the ground, and cattle milling in their pens as God Blessed Texas plays like I was editing a movie sequence.

But there are scenes, usually from my fusion fics, that I just write and go where I don't really picture anything other than maybe a couple of flashes of someone bending over someone else's hand or an arm wrapped around a waist.

He is aware of it every time he rips some nameless guy’s throat out and feels the crunch of bones under his fingers. But it feels so good…

His owner’s approach is less personal. His shots fall clean and take out several foes at a time, his figure elegant and so graceful he looks like a god among savages. He is power incarnated, cold and burning like a sun at the same time… and Steve tries not to focus on him when they are fighting together, least his knees go weak and his technique falters. okay so. i started writing irondad fanfic after i read like. every single one of @losingmymindtonight’s fics in one go so thank u kat!! that’s also what kickstarted my ao3 ahh

i think it was almeno tu nell’universo that was my inspo to start writing stevetony, and it was definitely atyd and your one shots for my marauders + wolfstar writing!

10. what’s your favourite fandom, pairing or character to read fic for?

i think this changes every week lmao, right now for a pairing it’s wolfstar because god. they. and a character i’d say amelia even though there are basically just five fics i have on a loop. about to be jess mariano as soon as i catch sight of beedee’s fic lmao

oh god why is this such a hard question,,, i am an absolute Whore for a highschool/college au. they’re so much fun to write even tho they take so much thought and planning. not really a trope but i love writing character studies, also an honorary mention to coffee shop au’s my beloved<3

23: If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

definitely JKWS (just a kid without a shadow) because it’s a) one of the first fics i ever posted, period, and one of the first i ever wrote and it needs... a Lot of work, and also b) it’s oc fic with one of my ocs who.... actually was really undeveloped back then, and id really like to change.... a lot.

That, or Sasha, because it’s also an older one that could use better writing. Also, it’s not actually finished! fun.

28: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

definitely @ilunabarrean , her prose is just.... so nice to read, and she really captures emotion well, and it’s always lovely to talk to her. the other two i dont know their tumblr URLS, but icarus_chained and kerosenesteve (both on ao3) were two writers that actually got me into fandom, so.... i cannot not mention them. also @tin-can-iron-man the love of my life, wind in my sails, ect ect. honourable mention bc she destroys me w/ oc fic constantly. 

37: Talk about your current wips.

whoo boy which ones? i have,,,, many. too many. 

the ones that im most.... actively working on, though (that aren't oc fic) would be remortal au and longing fic. 

remortal au (proper title: like a phoenix (you must burn))is a longfic almost-rewrite of mcu canon, that goes absolutely off the rails post-ai, where the only thing changed is that tony can’t die. it’s great it’s horrible i have a tag (linked in description! bc everyone asks me about it constantly so. now its just There.)

longing fic (proper title: i’m longing to see (you longing for me)) is 616 stevetony, and the general plot is..... sex pollen but its PG and there’s ID porn. ive written a solid thousand words that are just really really graphic hand-holding. things are going well.

3. In your opinion, what’s your best fic?

��� Oh boy, uh, um, lakflkjajhfs…that’s an oddly hard one for me to answer. I’ve written for quite a few fandoms now, all very different, so it’s hard to pinpoint what I see as my best fic. Since it’s you asking, my best Kakairu fic to date I think (although I’m proud of both of the one’s I posted for Kakairu Week) is: The Path to Us and that’s only because I wrote it second, and I felt more at ease at writing for Kakashi and Iruka since I hadn’t done so for, well, years to be honest. My overall best fic on AO3 right now is a Superbat (Superman x Batman) time-travel fic that I’m actually still very happy with called B-theory of Time. But one that will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’m very proud of, is my Markus x Simon (from Detroit: Become Human, the video game) fic called Bubble Gum Kisses~♥♥♥♥ So uh, I basically gave three different answers but I’m one of the most indecisive people on the planet so really, the fact that I made any decision is a miracle and we should celebrate. I’ll bring a cake.

22. Has there ever been anyone who’s made you freak out because they read your work and followed/favorited/reviewed?

• Well YOU, for one, and I say this shamelessly ❣ (●❛3❛●) SirSapling commenting on Bubble Gum Kisses had me dying, because I’ve read their SteveTony fics and loved them. I don’t think it really counts, since I made the fics they commented on for them for holiday exchanges, but Mithen commenting on B-theory is still a comment I go back to to fight off writer’s block cause it’s so good, and similarly Sineala’s comment for Black Silk and Plastic Touches. Otherwise, the fact that I get any comments at all has me freaking out.

23. What’s the nicest review you’ve ever gotten?

• lajflakjfaslkfkl They’re all good *sobs* If I had to choose…honestly, anybody who comments that goes out of their way to write, like, a paragraph, or quote something specific in the fic they liked, has me reeling in the best way possible. The most recent ones I can think of is @ladyxxdaydream ​‘s comments on both The Path to Us and The Heart that Hungers. Like, I go back to her comments almost daily, lately, to make me feel better—she’s honestly the sweetest person.

5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now!

i... can't think of a single possible question lol. let's just go with some behind the scenes fun facts? my favorite things about them? idk here's a mix of both and i'm sorry they ended up so long winded haha

Just For Now – this one is easily the most on the fly, no plans fic i've ever written. it was written pretty quickly in 2020, when i had just graduated college but was still unemployed because of things with the pandemic, so i had a lot of time to basically write a chapter a day. i posted as i went and almost never had a plan for where the next chapter was coming from before the current one was finished. there was only one later chapter i knew would exist from the beginning, which was them getting together at the sam and nat's wedding. everything else, even character background details, came at the exact moment they were written with pretty much zero forethought. all in all i'm pretty proud of how well it turned out without any real planning, but also i would never do that again lol

dust off your highest hopes – my absolute favorite moment in this one is the scene with them discussing the hyacinth tattoo steve almost got and the one tony has. i had the dialogue written fairly early on for tony asking steve to tell him something about himself that tony doesn't know yet, and i knew i wanted steve to tell him about a tattoo he almost got, but didn't. the only problem i had was that i had no clue at all what it would be, or why he wouldn't do it in the end.

sometimes i view scenes in terms of vibes and colors rather than plot, if that makes sense? so, this scene needed to feel like it was midnight blue with soft, hazy stars. that lead me to thinking that steve's almost tattoo should come from mythology, so i ended up googling something like 'gay love stories in greek mythology' just to see if one would fit. the very first one i read was the story of Apollo and Hyacinthus, and it just felt so right for steve to be sort of enthralled by that story, but also have a longing to experience something like it for himself first before getting a tattoo to represent it. personally, i've always been so intrigued by flower language, so i googled what hyacinths represent and that also felt very right for tony, given all the backstory i'd already established for him.

just generally, i love moments in writing where it feels like i've somehow stumbled upon the exact right thing to fit in the moment. there was no plan initially for tony to have any tattoos, let alone one that fit with steve's almost tattoo, but i love that it worked out that way. this particular moment felt almost fated to exist.

you can call me babe for the weekend – speaking of viewing scenes in terms of colors, this entire fic is maroon to me. i can't explain why, but that's what my mind sees.

now an actual fun fact! i think i've said this somewhere before, but i started writing this fic the same night evermore was released and started picturing it after my very first listen to tis the damn season. everything about that song screamed steve and tony to me. the longing, the idea of leaving someone you love to pursue a dream that you also love, the self-sacrificial nature of it. that was all just so tony. he would want to leave his small town, he wouldn't ask steve to come with him when he knew steve wouldn't be happy there, but he'd also never be able to move on and let him go in his own heart.
