Something I've always appreciated about Lance and Steven is how involved they are in protecting their region as Champion while also treating the protagonist as a capable partner in battle against the villainous organization causing problems.

The two managed to strike the perfect balance between being a defender of their respective region while also providing the protagonist with chances to prove their own strength. That's why they're my favorite Champions in the series, along with Alder.

Cynthia is a challenging opponent, but she does kind of leave the protagonist of DPP and the rival to do the heavy lifting against Team Galactic. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing for the player, because I deeply dislike when the narrative patronizes the protagonist. But still, you would think Cynthia would assist in a double battle somewhere? Or terrorize grunts for valuable information?

And yet, at least she's present for the plot, even if only to provide exposition. Diantha, girl, WHAT were you doing while Lysandre was about to wipe everyone he thought wasn't pretty and/or wealthy enough from the face of the earth?

I wanna know more about Margot. I feel like a fool because I can't name who she's related to. But also because she looks neat, the dress is amazing.

Margot is the head of House Xerneas—She believes in preserving life, balance, and tradition. She’s the calm to her rival house leader’s hotheaded nature, and is wary of the Lumiose plan’s affect on the lives of nearby Pokémon.

She has a fondness for jewels and Steel Type Pokémon, especially her Klefki. Though she keeps it secret from her house, (tradition!!! ethics!!!) she is fascinated by the newly-invented Pokéballs and how they function.
