Batfic - "Batman and Robbin'"
Category: Gen, F/M Rating: Teen and Up Audiences Characters/Relationships: Stephanie Brown & Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown/Tim Drake, Tim Drake & Bruce Wayne & Alfred Pennyworth, mentioned Selina Kyle Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Stephanie Brown is Spoiler, (but also Catwoman's sidekick), Tim Drake is Robin, Pre-Relationship, (i guess? genuinely not sure how to tag their relationship), (steph is flirting via mildly bullying tim in costume and tim isn't NOT secretly into it), (he's also very annoyed), (so really not that different than the grown-up BatCat interactions), implied Bruce/Selina as well but too minor for me to tag it, POV Tim Drake, Rated T for some swearing (because unlike comics I am allowed to do that)
Summary:
It wasn’t until much later, back in the Cave, that Tim actually put everything together. In which Robin has his first run-in with Catwoman's new sidekick and is infuriated and embarrassed and definitely not even a little bit impressed.
It had been a relatively quiet evening by Gotham standards, one of those nights where they were trying to track down a particular target and prevent a disaster rather than waiting for something to pop up for them to deal with. They were looking for a man they’d only heard referred to with the unhelpfully vague name of “Big Joe” who seemed to have a hand in what they were pretty sure was an incoming weapons shipment that would be much better off diverted out of the hands of Gotham mobsters, but crime fighting in Gotham meant always assuming something would happen to draw them off track.
This time that “something” was a flash of purple spotted vaulting neatly between buildings near the edge of the Diamond District, two things that immediately suggested a very specific individual up to something nefarious.
Unfortunately, they had just gotten a more direct lead on “Big Joe”, which meant they were going to have to split focus, and as much as Robin was sure Batman would love to spend the rest of his night chasing down Catwoman (or whatever else he might get up to, Robin emphatically did not want details and was not asking), they needed him focused on their actual target. He might be grumpy at losing out on a chance to flirt with her, but he would be a lot grumpier if they lost their shot at stopping a dangerous shipment from getting into even more dangerous hands.
“I’ll check it out,” Robin offered before Batman could suggest otherwise, veering off without waiting for an answer. Batman just grunted an affirmative and kept moving towards their original target. (Robin was choosing to take that as Batman having faith in his ability to handle things. It wasn’t like Catwoman was that dangerous. Comparatively. Probably. He totally had this.)
After a couple of blocks of rooftop running, Robin did catch up to someone in a purple suit, but it wasn’t Catwoman, and she had apparently stopped to wait for him.
“False alarm, B, it’s just that Spoiler kid again,” he muttered into his radio. Given how adamant she had been about joining them, they had sort of expected another run-in at some point, but this was the first they had actually seen her since the whole Cluemaster mess had ended in him losing his score and getting arrested. (They were guessing she had had some part in that, but since there was no actual evidence and she seemed to have gone quietly back to her civilian life since then it had gone on the backburner in terms of investigation. Apparently that had been a mistake.)
She had changed her costume, Robin realized as he got closer. It was similar, with the purple suit and the black boots and gloves, but it looked a little sleeker and she had ditched the cape. She still had the full face mask with the large white eyes, and the hood, but it was now held it place by two black points sticking through it that looked an awful lot like ears.
He snapped out his staff as he approached, just in case, holding it ready but not in an offensive position quite yet. This didn’t have to be a fight, and he was sort of hoping it wouldn’t be, but he was not explaining another brick to the head to Batman. He was ready this time.
“Took your time, there, roadrunner,” she said.
“You shouldn’t be out here,” he said with as much authority as he could muster.
“And yet here I am!” Spoiler said cheerfully, looking rather infuriatingly unthreatened as she sat perched on a chimney stack, one leg crossed over the other and kicking back and forth idly.
“I’m serious,” Robin tried again, gritting his teeth a bit and tightening his grip on his staff.
“Oh, I know you are, bird boy.” Spoiler hopped off of her perch and sauntered towards him. “Thing is, if your big bad Bat-daddy-”
“Oh my god, no,” Robin said in horror; Spoiler acted like he hadn’t said anything.
“-couldn’t scare me off I’m not sure why you think you,” she leaned forward into his space, “in your cute little tights are gonna do it.”
Robin wished, briefly but fiercely, that he had a full face mask to cover the fact that he was definitely blushing. Maybe it was dark enough that it wasn’t completely obvious? Hopefully? He couldn’t see Spoiler’s expression but from her body language, the way her head was tipped to one side, it was all too easy to imagine her smirking at him.
As surreptitiously as possible, he took a deep breath to recenter himself.

All-Time Total Drama Characters Ranking (My Personal Opinion!) // First Generation Cast to BRAND NEW 2023 Cast!
OK, I know some of these are takes, so I will explain myself based on some of them by groups.
S Tier Choices: Alejandro is the greatest villain in Total Drama history, don't come at me. Him and Heather? Masterful. My favorite couple/pairing on Total Drama of all-time. LeShawna is probably the best, most likable character in Total Drama history. Gwen may be a surprise some some, but she's always been a personal favorite. Sanders and Kitty were my favorite part of Ridonculous Race. And yes, there's lots of the newest generation of the show, because the new season was actually phenomenal. Shawn is my lone TDPI pick, he's just a giant dork. Oh, and Harold deserved to win TDA.
A+ Tier Choices: Noah and Tyler were absolute standouts for me in Total Drama World Tour. I loved their character development. And I loved Noah (and Emma!) in RR! Julia is one of my favorite villains, and her 'bad side' reveal was so well done. Lots of people don't like Jo, but I thought she was great in Total Drama Revenge of the Island. Raj and Bowie have my heart in a chokehold.
A Tier Choices: Trent is still my beloved musician child from TDI and he deserved better in TDA. Sierra is either a 'love or hate' character, but she made me laugh multiple times. I like her! Cody was one of the best parts of TDWT. Sammy and Jasmine's friendship was one of my favorite things in the *interesting* TDPI season, and I just adore Scarlett. Also, Don was a great host, and Carrie, Ryan, Rock and Emma were great!
B Tier Choices: Owen had good moments in TDI. Then they just used him for fart jokes. I haven't seen enough of Axel to love her, but she has so much potential. Anne Maria was hilarious, but her elimination (aka, quitting) drops her. Jen/Tom were a great duo, and Mickey and Jay were fun to laugh at (sorry, not sorry)! Chef's best moment? The Basic Straining Episode and his fights with Izzy.
C Tier Choices: Dawn's voice annoys me, I'm sorry. Svetlana and Vito are the better of Mike's personalities. I love Sam and Dakota's storyline, but Sam on his own is meh. Scott was great in TDRI, but drops because of his lameness in All Stars. Stephanie is wild and chaos, and I love chaos.
D Tier: OK Courtney fans, don't come at me too hard. I personally just don't like Courtney. I loved her in TDI, but then All Stars and World Tour ruined her for me. Then, the creators killed my chances of liking her again in TDAs. Courtney is the type of person that, if she was real, I would want to fight constantly. She annoys me. There, I said it! Also, I know Scary Girl is going to be controversial, but she just isn't my type of character. Funny moments for sure though. Her scaring Damien was funny.
F Tier: Chester, Manitoba and ... ugh, Mal, were just God-awful. Justin had two seconds of being a villain and then *poof* he went back to being a crappy character. I loathe Blainley, but she isn't in the lowest category for one of the best TDWT lines: "Alejandro and Heather? Give it up and just make out already!"
Swiss Neutral: Don't know enough about these three, and don't really care!
The Worst: Enough said on all of them. Sugar is gross. Chase is a fuckboy. Taylor is a whiny, entitled little shit. Not shocking that lots of TDPI characters are on here. They. Stunk. And Ezekiel... the worst storyline in Total Drama history.
There you have it, folks! *Roast Me*

Tonight The Matthew D. Farley Foundation was officially launched in conjunction with “In The Candid Corner “ a book which commemorates his ideas and perspectives. We heard about Matthew the educator, principal, friend, coworker and brother. I was honored to read an excerpt from the book. “A few regrets” is what I read because I often wonder if he was alive what would Mr. Farley think about all the discourse surrounding education reform. During this event a copy of the book was presented to our principal Mrs . Howard-Gittens and two scholarships were awarded to students of the Graydon Sealy Secondary School. Let us congratulate Haley Philips and Rian trotman who will be recorded in history as the first recipients of these scholarships!! My Top 10 Books of 2024 (so far)
Out of the 30 books I've read this year thus far, in no particular order here are the top 10 books I've read:
King of Sloth by Ana Huang
This book took me on a journey- a really emotional one. I laughed, I cried, I smiled and I got upset. I was really anticipating the release of this book and it didn't disappoint. Personally (as a grumpy girl) I love a good reverse grumpy x sunshine trope and it was perfectly executed. Xavier and Sloane are so perfect for each other, I think these two really understand each other and that's why they are able to immensely support one another when an obstacle gets thrown in their way. I also loved the cameos from characters from her other novels, I love to see that they're all doing well and that they're all happy in their relationships. The interconnectedness of Ana's books makes her characters feel so real and I'm excited to see what she has in store for the other books in the series as I can't wait to see cameos of Xavier and Sloane happy together.
2. Wild Love by Elsie Silver
I loved everything about this book. I always tell people that don't like romance that you simply aren't reading the right romance novels and this book is the definition of a well-executed romance novel. All the characters were so lovable each and every one of them left lasting impressions on me (including the mouse). The enemies to lovers trope was also executed very well and I loved that the writer added so much complexity to the plot as a lot was going on at once but that is what made the story feel real. I also loved the chemistry between the main characters and I loved the fact that everyone except them knew that they were perfect for each other. That made it so much better when they finally got together.
3. Bride by Ali Hazelwood
I devoured this book. Some aspects were quite predictable but it was really enjoyable. I really enjoy Ali's writing style and I was very curious to see what this book would be like given the fact that this isn't her usual genre. But she delivered in this romance fantasy novel in which a vampire bride fell in love with the werewolf alpha that she was forced to marry. This novel is perfect for someone seeking a gateway novel into urban fantasy as it involves vampires and werewolves living in the human world. This is not my usual genre of choice but I saw so many people raving about it so I caved and I read it and it definitely didn't disappoint.
4. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
This book was written beautifully. Although it was short, it was very compact as a lot happened and a lot was said, without actually being said, in such a short span. The use of poetic language throughout the novel effectively conveyed themes of chasing dreams, race, and class. Reading this book helped me gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the roaring twenties. It skilfully depicted the fragility of class and racial structures, while also highlighting the rapid growth of the masses' purchasing power and the migration of people from rural areas to the city during that era. The effects of the Harlem Renaissance, Garveyism, the Prohibition, and Jim Crow Laws was also showcased as these were all contributing factors to the beliefs that the people of this era upheld.
5. Behind the Net by Stephanie Archer
Lately I’ve been really into hockey romance even though I know absolutely nothing about the sport. In this novel the main characters went to high school together and they both had crushes on each other that neither ever acted on because they thought the other was out of their league. Nevertheless they meet up again in the future and both act like they are complete strangers until the truth comes out. This novel also beautifully tackled serious topics like alcoholism and depression. Overall it is a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good sports romance novel.
6. Love Redesigned by Lauren Asher
Personally I love everything Lauren Asher, I’ve read every book she has written and they are all amazing. Love Redesigned follows the story of two childhood rivals whose mothers happen to be best friends. Dahlia moves back to her hometown of Lake Wisteria where she and her childhood rival and college crush Julian literally bump into each other. She is an interior designer and he is a developer and they end up working together on a project where they restore a historical house on the lake. However the house isn’t the only thing they’ll be restoring as they manage to resolve the animosity between each other and fall in love. I loved everything about this book, the banter, the tension and the pranks. I devoured this book in a day.
7. King of Pride by Ana Huang
This novel is apart of the Kings of Sin series where each book is inspired by one of the seven deadly sins. I haven’t read an Ana Huang book that I didn't like; her books are captivating, fast paced and swoon worthy. Perfect for someone who is just getting into reading. This is an opposites attract romance novel where Kai is a reserved gentleman and Isabella is free spirited and somewhat chaotic. Kai has a crucial CEO vote at stake and he cannot afford to be sidetracked by any distractions nevertheless he is willing to risk it all for Isabella. I fell in love with Kai ever since I first met this character in King of Wrath and this book did not disappoint.
8. Native Son by Richard Wright
This book disturbed me yet captivated me in unimaginable ways. Bigger Thomas is the most unlikable character I have ever read, however it can be argued that he is simply just a product of his environment so you can't blame him for being who he is. I really enjoyed this book even though it traumatised me. It took place in Southside Chicago in the 1930s and it tells the story of Bigger Thomas, a black man, who accidentally killed a white woman and showed the price he paid for it.
9. A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen
This play is about Nora’s feminine awakening in which she comes to a realization that all the men in her life were treating her like a ‘doll’ who lived in their ‘doll house’ and she realized that she had enough. After her epiphany she decides to move on and live a life of her own where she prioritises her own desires. This play represents a gateway to a new feminist era that shapes the way the Victorian family is viewed.
10. The Letter’s We Keep by Nisha Sharma
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book and it had me hooked from the moment I read the dedication. I haven’t read another book that has beautifully and successfully conveyed the guilt that comes with having immigrant parents who came from nothing and worked hard so that they could give you the life that they didn’t get the opportunity to have. Aside from the serious stuff that I greatly appreciated, the book explored two love stories, and I loved every bit of it. As the title suggests, ‘The Letters We Keep’ tells the stories of two lovers through their letters. They were an interracial couple, so they had to sneak around, as relations like this were frowned upon in the 1970s. Not to mention that interracial marriages were not fully legal across America until 1967 and coming from a strict Indian family posed difficulties. These letters brought characters Ravi and Jessie together, and this sparked a romance of their own.

Spider-Man: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider... Bat?
by KingHit (Basically MCU Spiderman mixed with Insomniac (Game) Spiderman but still 16, cause Batman and the added trauma is pretty juicy :} ) Peter was never one to complain, mainly because it would quickly snowball into an even bigger problem. Though he wasn't above going back to his New Yorker roots and complaining about the traffic, weather, or even the bus schedule. But one day, on top of the Oz. Corp Tower, Peter was getting beaten by the sinister 6, again, going through a terrible break up with M.J, again, and still trying to process the death of his mentor and aunt, before he ran out of web fluid just as he was trying to take out one of his sinister problems, he admits, he did complain a little bit. Now he was stuck in the middle of the cursed hell scape known as Gotham, trying to make a living again while working in a library ( He learned his lesson from delivering pizzas, and photography), getting chased by a bat related hero/vigilante/anti-hero family when in his hero attire (They needed help, so) and almost threatened to be adopted by a rich billionaire family when he's Peter Parker.
