Ok hear me out academic rivals Stelena. Both of them obviously like to learn with their shared love of history and literature and medicine. Like Stefan has canonically spent years getting multiple degrees he's a well of knowledge and Elena would make it her life's mission to smarter then him. After Elena overcoming her initial difficulties of vampirism they could just complete on whose smarter forever while being all soft and cute.

Or it could be an au where their at boarding school and are super competitive but like to study together.

I need someone to write cus I don't possess the talent for writing stuff.

What do you mean something has good writing as opposed to good television

For me, it means that good television can still be very entertaining despite it not being particularly well-written. If I say a show is well-written, I mean like Succession or The Sopranos or I May Destroy You or The Good Place or Buffy or Veep, where it's like I will study those scripts, I will recommend other writers to study those scripts, I think the dialogue is excellent, I think the structure - Barry - is a work of art. I don't think TVD was ever particularly well-written, I think Stelena was well-written, I think the show had kernels of ideas that were interesting, I think in the first three seasons they had a cast that gelled the way they were supposed to gel, I think the use of music was done really well, I think it was entertaining, I think it was good TV.

This comment about Delena's first sex scene makes me laugh, claiming it felt more like frantic sexual tension than taking time to get to know and love the other's body. Elena never smiled as widely when having sex with Stefan as she did Damon in 4x7, 4x8, and 5x1. I love her smile in 4x7 since she's actually enjoying her body instead of feeling suicidal and viewing it as burden (Stelena's first sex soundtrack is about self harm) or a bargaining chip. Also I love the gentle first kiss when Damon is on top and the fact that he looks spellbound when she's on top and isn't insecure in his masculinity to not let her top. The way she kisses his arm is sweet as well. Also in their sex/kissing scenes they always make it a point to pause and look lovingly into each other's eyes. When Damon had sex when Rebekah they didn't do that since they weren't in love. They often hold hands in their sex scenes as well:

Elena was attracted to Damon, but the sex they had in 4x07 wasn't the same as Stelena's first love scene in 1x11. Delena's first sex scene was basically "let's finally fuck these feelings out" after a lot of sexual tension had built up (as well as "Let's see how many walls we can smack ourselves into" and "how much stuff we can break"), not "I want to take time to get to know you, know your body, and I want you to be comfortable with me" and about two people who love each other so passionately finally coming together. That is the difference. None of it felt like love. It just felt like "let's fuck our feelings out". She loved Stefan until Julie Plec wrote her own fanfic.

Uhm, they already know and love the others body. I know fans like to pretend they haven't seen each other half naked before, but they have. Elena takes a great moment at the motel in Denver to study every inch of Damon... literally from boots to face. Their 4x7 sex plays out as it does because Elena has a season of pent-up sexual energy for Damon. While fans may feel it's rushed, it's not. They're literally picking up where they left off in 3x19. I've put this to gif before because every Delena sex scene tells a story just like every dance they have. Delena is allowed to sex how they want because they spent 3 seasons building what they have, and fans can trust what they have is quite powerful. They're written to be unbreakable by anything. That's why I love Caroline's line in 2x22. "So basically it's like Atlanta has burned. And yet, in spite of everything, we persevere." It's all Delena.

 this fic is an absolute work of art! i still remember the way my eyes were absolutely glued to the screen while i devoured it. it’s not focused singularly on klaroline, but i only consider that a strength: the true strength of this work is the friendship between elena, bonnie and caroline, and it is truly masterfully done. It even provides a fascinating little look into caroline and klaus’s relationship with their mothers, which y’all know i’m feral for.

the klaroline section will stun you into speechlessness. it’s a study in grief and surviving it, in learning to forgive yourself. it’s a relationship built in quiet moments of stillness, in small shows of affection rather than grand, dramatic gestures.

⁷ this blog is not anti-delena and delves into it from an unbiased standpoint. mun is a stelena shipper, and of course will side with stefan and elena’s relationship above all, but i think delena is worth exploring and i’m not entirely opposed to seeing it. there will be in depth discussions and deep dives into autonomy and being sired to damon, as well as elena’s humanity (and lack there of) being brought into the equation when the time comes in my rewatch.

⁸ i love to ship, but i ship with chemistry and plotting. multiple threads and lots of out of character communication is needed to ship with either twin. friendships are always welcome, and you can always pick a certain episode or arc to plot in for both characters. because this is a writing blog, au’s will have to really be talked about and agreed to.
