Perché spesso seguiamo ciò che ci porta lontano dai nostri desideri? pensò. Ci inchiniamo alla polemica del giorno, di cui capiamo la pochezza, ma a cui tutti si abbeverano.

Ci accodiamo al dipanarsi della chiacchiera di cui non ricordiamo più l'inizio, al ciarlare di chi affolla la fotografia ai piedi del sovrano. E tutto intorno, c'è chi lavora, studia e coltiva idee che dureranno mille volte più di un lampo di notorietà in televisione o su un giornale. Ma tutti, spesso, abbiamo preferito quel lampo alla paziente speranza.

Solo quando perdiamo queste persone, i custodi dei semi, delle idee, del giardino nascosto delle parole, ci accorgiamo che non li abbiamo ascoltati abbastanza.

Ma imparare l'arte del guardare oltre le luci, nella penombra, nello spazio quasi invisibile tra due pagine chiuse, questa è la sfida.

Ecco il debutto. Ci ho messo 20 anni ma alla fine sono arrivato ad uno spettacolo che racconta della pittura, la mia seconda vita. E tutto accade sulle spalle dei giganti: Caravaggio, Vetrano, Randisi, Niccolini. Io? Io racconto solo di un pittore errante e della sua scandalosa misericordia.
