“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”
PROVERBS 27:19
Tumblr media
Hi Everyone! Just recently crawled back to The Binding of Isaac Fandom just to show you off my dumb child, Eloise.
Fun fact:
She's based on a Bible verse instead of a person in the Bible!
say hello to ELOISE!
Item and mechanic under the art!
Tumblr media
Eloise, sadly is too stubborn to cry, so she doesn't have tears, but she can do a melee attack. The melee attack itself works like Tainted! Samson’s berserk form, jawbone melee weapon (Also basing her Item on The Forgotten’s Bone Club)
At first, I didn't plan stuff for Eloise, especially when the name ‘Eloise’ technically didn't appear in the Bible, yet I still went for it. Unless y'all have a better name for her.
So, the first thing I thought of was mirrors, before I remembered a PowerPoint presentation on science where, out of fun, decided to put in a Bible verse for the project theme: Optics, which is based on mirrors. So out of my mind, I yoinked that idea and based that Bible verse onto Eloise.
Of course, I did try to do my research and tried to find any items that HAD similar effects on Eloise’s abilities. But of course, I stumbled upon an item called: ‘My Reflection’ and did a little revising.
Tumblr media
Mirror Of Glory Abilities:
1. Mirror Shield:
Eloise can hold up her handheld mirror as a shield to deflect enemy projectiles. It can also deflect beams, but you have to hold down the button. The more you hold it the more fractured the mirror gets, The item bar drains fast so be careful or else it will shatter, causing damage to Eloise.
Don't worry though, because the item bar will recover/recharge 4 rooms, depending on how fractured the Mirror gets. (When you use the ability, your movement instantly stops for a split second, so you can't technically move when you deflect, making you vulnerable to melee attack-typed enemies)
2. Mirror Strike:
When there are no incoming projectiles, Eloise can swing her mirror as a melee attack, dealing moderate damage with a short cooldown. (prob 3 seconds, but it depends on how fast the enemy is coming towards you or in general.)
3. Shattered Reflection:
When Eloise successfully deflects a projectile with her mirror, but it misses the target(Let's say, it ends up hitting a wall or floor.) The deflected projectile shatters into 3-4(I was going for 5-6, but that felt too much,) glass shards that bounce around the room. These glass shards damage enemies they come into contact with. While there is a 50/50 chance of harming Eloise, even though the glass shards damage has been reduced from the original deflected projectile(s). Sadly, this won't affect beams.
In her normal form, I tried to give Eloise’s gameplay a risk-reward element with the Shattered Reflection ability, allowing players/Isaac to use it strategically for crowd control and damage without excessive self-inflicted harm, making her gameplay more balanced.
Tumblr media
In a Nutshell:
Her abilities be like:
You better be playing ping-pong/Tennis for your fucking life.
PS. If you wish to use these characters/OCs then go ahead, but please tag/Credit me!

Eve's weird question timee: How do your ocs kiss? Is it tender, hungry, loving, or what ever you think it is?
thanks 4 the weird question eve >:)))
haven't said much about romance in clocked out yet but there is definitely gonna be some!! it won't be too much of a focus since most of it will be badass steampunkery, but here's what i think about my four main characters and their kisses....
lola: absolutely not. lola, like the aroace queen she is, does not understand the appeal of kissing or romance in general, and her response to someone making a move on her would probably be to throw a wrench in their face. it's just... gross!
cuckoo: she kisses very softly, actually. her lovers never expect it. it's quite rare for cuckoo to fall in love, but when she does, she stops being so cruel to the world, at least for a while. she's the kind of lover who wants to stop time. the kind of lover who melts before even touching them.
rowan: what can i say, rowan's just got w rizz. he smiles and people fall for him and he doesn't even realize. he kisses like he's searching for something that he can never quite find. i mean, he enjoys it. a lot more than he'd like to admit. but it seems like everyone he loves never stays for long. so every kiss becomes stolen, a plea for help. maybe his missing piece will come along soon...
alaric: he's SO touch starved don't even get me started. this guy would kiss like he's never had a meal in his entire life. he craves intimacy but also hates himself for craving it. it's like he's, i dunno, searching for something. sounds kind of familiar? i think he'd get along with someone else i know...

It's funny because I'm reading this Frankenstein-inspired story about a guy who brought his brother back from the dead through some kind of steampunkery and is mysteriously sent a copy of Frankenstein (meta I know), which seems like it was based on his experience and one of the mysteries is who wrote the thing.
Also he once had a friend named Mary Godwin who helped him dig up his brother's corpse and was there for his reanimation.
Gee, the suspense is killing me.

Having a final exams tomorrow LMAO-
Anyways, I feel like the reason why Brick’s construction vehicles keep on malfunctioning is because Henry shows up, like your expecting something normal and plain about Brick Builderman during the background. But then, when that vehicle ends up malfunctioning and you see Brick Builderman starts fighting for control over the rogue construction vehicle, it just gives you a roller coaster type feeling.
Like you’re literally expecting something important or maybe a quick timed event based on it, but nope.
In reality, it DIDNT matter. Until of course Brick reappears in ‘Completing the Mission’ you expect like the same thing. Like, once Henry shows up and is the main spotlight, It must show on how much chaos it can effect the background.
And Brick Builderman is fully aware. That, once Henry shows up on-screen with him in the background. The construction vehicle his operating is destined to malfunction for the gag.

things i actually WOULD like to see a live action remake of:
Tumblr media
One of the things I always wondered about (because I was a teen just getting into manga and read Bleach) was why there were no regular ghosts just chilling in Danny’s world. Add that dimension, and it won’t be just a fun monster-of-the-week show, but a real chance at a humanizing story of the afterlife, and what a strange wierd world the afterlife might be--more thematic richness to explore!! Would fit right in with Sabrina.
Tumblr media
There’s enough differences between Diana Wynne Jones’ original book and Ghibli’s adaptation that I’d be very interested in a more faithful adaptation. The ending was completely different, Sophie is hiding more than you think, the pacing doesn’t match Jones’ cozy character piece, and there’s a sequel! You could honestly expand this to a miniseries. Plus I’m a sucker for gritty steampunkery & magic.
Tumblr media
This is so exciting to me because, unlike the animated Beauty and the Beast (which was a 98% perfect film), there is a LOT you can improve on in the source material, be it Ariel’s character arc, her motivations for getting to the surface, giving Eric some more characterization, expanding the backstory between Ursula & Triton, sea vs land.... I know we basically just got this in the form of Aquaman, but I’m still excited for an animated Disney movie to have an adaptation that actually has something to IMPROVE UPON the original...

For a non-D&D system, I had a scion of Loki who was a hacker under the name Cereal Killer and he ended up married to a scion of Anubis named Jack. I also had a (Human) Hunter character for another campaign who eventually got turned into a werewolf. He was a transman who was the lead investigator on the Jack the Ripper case in a Victorian Steampunk LARP setting.
Cereal Killer oh my GOSH
And, my friend, I don’t know if you know this, but I’m a sucker for steampunk ANYTHING so HELL yeah. That second character sounds awesome.
Want to talk to me about your Dungeons and Dragons (or other tabletop rpg) character(s)?

Howls moving castle movie summary
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When first watching it I couldn't get past the feeling that I had seen this before.
Tumblr media
Usually one or two of these will show up in his films in some way amongst a host of new ideas, but they all show up in Howl's. The visual things include flight, airships, steampunkery, anthropomorphised objects and black globular creatures, among other stuff. The main thematic ideas that show up a lot are unjust wars, environmentalism, young girls in peril and more I can't remember. I watched it at the end of a week where I watched all of Miyazaki's films and couldn't help notice that Howl's contains almost all of the imagery and themes that Miyazaki likes to dip into. Out of all of Miyazaki's films that I've seen, everything bar Castle of Cagliostro, Howl's Moving Castle may be my least favourite. And, remember, these are also children's movies- try and watch them without our adult disillusionment. I don't think it's as great as Spirited Away, but at the same time they are VERY different films. Yes, it harps on Miyazaki's favorite themes of war and environmentalism, but I still love watching it. I love watching this movie and often recommend it to my friends. I also love how much character the "castle" itself had, like a living beast. Howl was a MUCH bigger jerk in that he projected his whiny selfishness more than in the movie (where he does do it, but in smaller doses). For example, the Witch of the Waste was quite beautiful, and I think could change her appearance (if I remember rightly). It's been a while since I've read it, but some differences are still noteable in my mind. It is, in fact, quite different from the book, almost a totally different animal. I absolutely love the world he creates, the whimsy, the gorgeous animation, I totally identify with and love Sophie, and all of the minor characters are adorable (Calcifer, the dog, etc). I agree with many of these posts that it isn't particularly "different" or an upward trajectory in quality for Miyazaki from his previous films, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable for me. I saw it in theaters when I was pretty young and had no idea what I was in for, my mother decided to take us and didn't really tell my brother or me what it was about, hah.
