Steam Crane - July 2023 This steam crane was sitting in front of a local manufacturer of some sort. I assume it was used in the Anaconda smelters many, many years ago. The smoke stack for the boiler is clearly evident and the drive mechanism between the wheels can also be clearly seen. Unfortunately, it was on private property with secure fences, etc and signs saying no trespassing. I had to hold my camera above the fence to get this image. MWM

They hadn’t brought it up, but the whistle they heard was very different to Thomas’s. “The light wasn’t even on the damn tracks.” Max whispered. “There is no One-Eyed Truck,” Monty grunted, trying hard to sound brave. But as they made their way through the trees, eyes darting all around, they could never be quite sure.

From a WiP tentatively called All Roads Lead Here – though from the way it’s shaping up it’s more a collection of snippets/drabbles spanning the early years of Victoria working with Smasher, from the ‘20s to their reunion in ‘42.

Prior to Smasher, Victoria rarely, rarely cursed and if she did it was often under her breath. Adam saw a challenge and would take every opportunity he could to rile her up, from direct antagonising, purposely misconstruing her words, just blatantly ignoring her: this quote is from her breaking point and finally going off on him over comms

While she’s stringing curses and insults like a sailor, he’s laughing so hard he can’t breathe which is an achievement since I don’t think he even had lungs in the Samson frame
