so guess who's never getting over what jack says here!

it's a line that's devastating on it's own. it's heartbreaking, because jack feels so terribly betrayed by joke all over again, even though all joke was trying to do is save him.

but it's not just that. it's worse, because that's what the whole show's been about this entire time.

in english, the title we've been given is "Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart!" which is the most darling, lighthearted little play on words ever.

but the thai title? it's "Jack & Joker: ทำไมต้องเป็นเธอทุกที," which (according to MyDramaList) translates to "Jack & Joker: Why Does it Always Have to Be You?"

and isn't that exactly what jack's asking now? of everything that had to happen, of everyone that is to blame, why does have to be joke that is at fault again?

from the beginning, this entire show was meant to be about how it's almost inevitable that these two will hurt each other in some way or another. their lives have been entwined since that first moment 5 years ago, and regardless of whose fault it is, both of them are bound to be hurt because of just how much they want to save each other. ultimately, jack and joke are – quite literally – doomed by the narrative that they're in.

and all they can do is find a way to break this cycle that viciously dictates their lives – both in the world they're in and in the grand scheme of the show itself.

If we ever get a 'Natsuki Subaru’s Absolutely Terrible, Downright Horrendous, Definitely Not Good, Very, Very, Very Bad Day (Two Months) in which Julius sits on Subaru, everyone laughs at him and he becomes Julius servant. If this becomes a Julius and Subaru relation can we maybe, possibly, SHOULD get a 'I love Julius' scene from Subaru to Emilia. LIKE BRUH! PLEASE! LMAO!

Okay so, the core of the “I love ____” scene comes down to the following: Character A loves Character B who loves Character C, but when B turns to try and “settle” with A (for whatever reason), A turns B back around and convinces them to take the chance and go chase after C instead, largely due to wishing for B’s happiness over B’s affection. That is how I approach any parallels to that initial scene with Rem.

—That is something that could totally work here, with Emilia now actively helping Subaru come to terms with his own (very obvious) feelings about Julius in spite of her own very complicated feelings towards Subaru due to their prior relationship.

i've had a book idea, its outline and short stories about a coven of witches in a modern setting i've been calling 'bad witches' for almost a decade now, and last year an author released a book about a coven of witches in a modern setting called 'bad witches.'

they are completely different books in every way and even that description of their book isn't totally accurate, but the title 'bad witches' is now completely off the table, and maybe if i'd written the book back when i'd gotten the idea that wouldn't be the case

There’s a phenomena that happens with parents when something happens to their children. Often times, in looking for someone to blame, one parent takes it and the other is more than happy to let them. Because when terrible things happen you need someone to blame.

Yes, Joke stole the ring and it led to Boss’s reign of terror. But he didn’t say why he stole it; to free Jack. He didn’t explain Aunt Nang’s mastermind of the plan.

Joke blames himself and is devastated, and he wants Jack to blame him as well. Maybe still love him afterward but he’s looking for punishment and Jack, oh Jack already tried defending him but he also wants anyone to blame.

And isn’t Joke the perfect target for a boy whose whole life has been ruled by the well-intentioned betrayals by people who love him.
