Hi, people!

I have megalophobia. I just realised it a few weeks ago when I was searching about phobias.

I was scared of a big stuffed toy of my cousin when I was small, atleast what I have heard many times from my elders.

I remember the day when my mom put the torch behind her palm, creating the reflection of it on the wall, changing it's size from small to big moving the torch back and forth. I was scared of it.

I remember looking at the moon, which I greatly adore in the darker shade of sky, with binoculars but instantly look away when I saw it, panicking. I was scared.

I remember creeping out seeing the pictures of the planets in the school book even if it was a small one. I was scared.

I remember silently shivering at the planets and dinosaurs, nearly tearing up, which was seen from the VR. I was scared.

I remember when I saw the animals (giraffe, yak, Buffalo, horse and even a cat!) closed up to me, they looked giant and I was scared. My eyes literally denied to look at it, I tried several times to look at them but I couldn't.

I remember looking up at the sky, something I do with pure adoration, but that day there were no clouds and the sky looked extra dark and farther away. It looked giant. I was scared.

I remember I had a dream where my house was near a huge hill right infront of my eyes. It was beautiful but I was scared.

I remember another dream where I saw moon, Earth and Saturn near each other looking larger than the moon you see in the sky. I remember shirvering at it. I was scared.

Even when I look at pictures and videos of planets...I can't help but tremble. My body suddenly turns cold and my breath gets caught in my neck.

But besides these, I liked looking at sky diving videos from where earth looks larger but surprisingly it doesn't affect me. Even in the VR I was enjoying, like it comforted me after many episodes of planets, spacecrafts, rockets and dinosaurs.

When I tried to tell my closed ones that I was scared to look at the moon through binoculars, scared of the pictures and videos of enormous things, creeped out looking at my mom's large shadow...they just laughed or scolded me. They looked at me like I was joking and being overdramatic.

And now I also came to think I'm overdramatic but the fact that I am literally terrified from these things but decided to quietly indure it, swallowing my tears, is real.

I don't know why I'm scared of such things but I feel a bit lonely when I see them, like nothing except me and it exists. I am an introvert and know how much I enjoy a time for myself, I like to be alone but I don't know why I am so scared of it when I look at large things. Maybe because I realize the truth that I'm lonely and a tiny creature when I look at them.

I am not 'diagonosed' by this phobia from a specialist but the symptoms are favoured for it.

Ok then, I will leave here. I don't want you to think I'm faking it. My 'stupid' or 'weird' fears are real.

While sharing my fears with you, a constant imagination of large things came in my mind vision and I have been tearing up here and there too. But I will try my best to endure it, with a smile on my face, I will convince myself that my fears aren't going to affect me much.

Of course I'm not denying my fears. But we all have to collect ourselves and move on, right?
