its so silly but i just keep thinking abt being in norway and seeing for the first time kinda ever that like governments can do things to make peoples life better. for no other reason but just to improve things. like im sure norway has lots of problems i didnt see on a trip but i cannot stress how insane it was that the government had done things because it would be nice. to take care of people. ?????
#tour guide like yeah the minimum wage is decent here its 220 NOK (roughly ovr $22) but its not perfect and literally evryone in our group#being like $22??!?!?!???!?!!? MINIMUM!??!??!!?#i keep thinking about taking the bus and trams in oslo :( and abt walking IN THE STREET in bergen wjthout getting run over#or the restaurant on top of the bergen funiculr mountain getting state owned this year bc it was mismanaged ans going under but#everyone would like there to be a restaurant there so the government just decided to make sure there would be one????#instead ofbjust letting it die???#or ALL THE OIL AND POWER BEING STATE OWNED. HELLO?#its just insane idk. that things can for real be different. where i am theres a revolutionary amt of public teansport for a not huge city#but its still basically one bus and then the slowest most fucked up train in the whole world (40min drive = 2.5 hours by train)#assuming uh thw train doesnt get stuck again lol#it mostly exists to take mormon missionaries to the airport i think lol.#the 'walkable' old town section still has 4 and 6 lane roads you have to cross every block.#i dont know its just... its. augh!!!!!!!!#birdenest#we told one guy the minimum wage for waitstaff was about 21 NOK and he didnt believe us and got upset that we were lying

#(cue it starting immediately afterwards)#i managed to take some painkillers in time to stave the migraine off but i still felt like shit the next day#so i couldnt have worked regardless#this was monday night (and tbf sunday & monday were *extremely* tiring days. i was falling asleep while crocheting & playing ac#which is rare even considering my fatigue issues)#yes/no divination has been great as a way to consult apollo without pulling out the tarot deck (which is more time consuming and takes#a *lot* more spoons)#the only issue is that when i do the stones or tarot i tend to get on a Divination Kick tm which is. not helpful b/c what am i going to do??#i've already finished asking what i needed to ask???#i should probably funnel that burst of dopamine/hyperfixation into researching different methods actually#gonna add that to the routine#also! working out the kinks with the yes/no method. doing it on my floor? no good. inconsistent results. Feels Bad. Loud#doing it on my bed? wonderful 10/10. very consistent results. if u have never been to texas and have ever wondered "how big is tht state actually", on a road trip from houston tx to los angeles california, we drove 9 hours and we were STILL IN TEXAS
#i drove 4 hrs. switched out. slept for 2.5 hrs. woke up and saw that we were still in this god damn state.#was actually pissing me off how big tx is#for the record the total drive was 24 hrs and we split it across 2 days by driving 12 hrs each. u know how boring it is#it was just desert!!!! tho we did pass by the mountain hike that put me in the most excruciating pain id ever been in

about half of my apartment is packed up and in a week im going to be living in a new state for the first time in my life. kind of surreal n scary but extremely exciting. this has been in the works for like 8 months now so its incredible to finally be at the precipice of such an awesome life change
#going from living in a shitty part of sacramento to a small city in oregon#and im going from an old shithole apartment to a townhouse on the edge of a nature preserve that was just built like. a year ago#and i get to live with my wife and kevin and my sibling again which is such an ideal support system to have#3 bed 2.5 bath!!! and its HUGE its like 600 more sqft than my current place and theres so many windows#and theres a shower in my ensuite bathroom... :spoiled:#idk its been a lot of work and im extremely grateful to have my parents support as well#bcuz theyre moving with us and like. sold their house n almost everything they own so we can have an easier life out of this state#idk its so exciting but its so crazy!!!!!!!!#i feel so grateful to no longer have to work opposite schedules from my wife n i get to see my family more often. its gonna be really good#MAYBE I CAN EVEN START COLLAGING AGAIN LMFAOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

17 year old me cried and begged and prayed to a god I didn't even believe in that we would not have a Trump presidency. 25 year old me sobbed to my girlfriend the moment I knew it was happening again, long before the race was actually over. I am so incredibly disappointed but not completely surprised
#i am grateful to be relatively safe and protected in california but my heart aches for everyone in other states that wont protect them#i fear for my sister in florida who's queer. I fear for all my nieces in 2 different states who are gonna start to grow up in this#im terrified for my girlfriend's family who are mexican immigrants. some of whom are undocumented#im afraid for every single woman and queer person and person of color because this country has shown time and time again#that money matters more than the lives of actual people who just want to live#anyways this is just me ranting and getting feelings out before i have to go to work and#pretend to be a functional human being for the day. take of yourselves everyone. we have 2.5 months to prepare ourselves
